The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

A frown tugged at the corner of the doctors lips as he heard Hunters request, was the damn vampire reliant on him to do everything? The man may have come from the stone age but surely he had worked out how to use a computer terminal by now? Disregarding Hunters request for the moment James reimmersed himself in his work, he had far more important, not to mention interesting to take care of, however since as it was likely that Hunter would only interrupt him again the doctor decided he may as well summon one his aides to perform the cretinous task of summoning more targets.
Striking out blindly with his left hand Ingham reached under his desk for the hidden trigger that would call one of his incompetent aides to his lab. Strangely though his questing digits found a small but firm barrier blocking his way. Pausing in his activities for a moment James racked his mind until he recalled that a new button had been placed under desk just recently. He only remembered becuase the technicians had prevented him from using his computers for over an hour. This new trigger was supposed to be a back up of the detonator he carried around in his pocket in case he lost it and one of Hunters unruly pets made an attempt to vacate the premises.
Dismissing the useless thought from his mind James continued to search under his desk for another few seconds until he found the required switch. A minute or so later his lab doors slid open and a young man in a white lab coat entered nervously.
"Y-you wanted to see me professor" the man mumbled anxiously.
"Take control of one of the lesser terminals and activate a squadron of hover drones testing area five. I have given you access to the speaker system in that area bu not the camera feed, do anything our employer requests of you." James intoned in a bored manner.
"Y-yes sir" the man moved quickly to the nearest computer and after stumbling over his log in managed to activate the drones that the doctor had specified.
Cafas: "Zephyr is the king of bad decisions, but if Sebby being weak to ghost is anything to go by, not so amazing at follow through."
Hunter watched as the drones began to circle around him. With the terror of the witch hunter still coursing through him he extended his hand to one of the drones. It froze midair.
Not only was it no longer moving, but it was not emitting the faint hum that the drones made as they hovered. Hunter guessed that every thing in the drone had been put into stasis, so nothing was moving.
As these thoughts formed in Hunter’s mind the fear diminished and the drone moved again. Banishing the thoughts and recalling the fear he extended a hand to a pair of drones and held them in place. The drones both become immobile and neither moved for around thirty seconds before they continued on their flight path.
Hunter felt drained, the immobilising seemed to take more effort than exploding, but it was a very useable power, and one Trista would need to learn to control. Banishing all fear from his mind he decided upon the next test.
“Bring up a small block of ice, approximately three inches by three inches by three inches,” Hunter commanded, “I will attempt to melt the ice, then evaporate the water, rather than simply blowing it up.”
"C-certainly Mr. Antonescu" The aid stammered as he quickly searched the computer directories for the nearest freezer in the facility. This turned out to be the kitchens that served the guards barracks and the aid muttered a curse, the kitchen staff were far from computer savvy and they rarely ever touched the terminal that was in their kitchen. Still he pulled up the appropriate program and tried to initiate a phone call with the cooking staff.
Much to the aides surprise the phone was answered after only the third ring, a record time to be sure. After briskly informing the staff of their employers requests the young quickly opened up his end of the speaker system to Hunter, "I- I've just gotten in touch with the kitchen staff sir they should have the ice up momentarily"
Cafas: "Zephyr is the king of bad decisions, but if Sebby being weak to ghost is anything to go by, not so amazing at follow through."
Hunter noted that Dr Ingram had called in an aid to keep him supplied with various targets. Most likely the good doctor had his head buried in the data that was being collected from the tests.
Hunter waited calmly for the ice, noting that his time to utilise the power was ticking away. With only five minutes of time left with use of the power the cooks with the ice in a bowl arrived and hastily placed it on a pedestal that had been positioned for it.
Taking the mild annoyance from the time the ice took to arrive Hunter extended a hand towards the ice and focused on it. The edges were soon covered with water droplets and Hunter increased his annoyance.
As his annoyance grew the ice began to melt faster, and in less than half a minute it had been completely melted. Hunter didn’t lose his focus and raised his annoyance again and the water began to boil.
Within a minute the water had all boiled away, leaving the bowl empty. With his time rapidly running out Hunter concluded the tests. Exiting the room he headed back to Dr Ingram’s lab.
“I hope you got all of that James,” Hunter made a point of using his first name in front of subordinates, “I’ll need the second sample in a method of delivery that I can administer secretly. Miss Evans doesn’t need to know how I can use her powers. I intend to begin training immediately.”
"Everything has been recorded" Ingham replied in a dismissive voice. He didn't really care that Hunter had used his first name; it wasn't as if he made any attempt to hide it like some of the riff raff the vampire chose to employ. A name was nothing really, simply a title used to get someone’s attention.
With his fingers still darting over the keyboard the doctor continued speaking amongst the numerous clicks of keys, "I will analyze the results of your experimentation after I have dealt with the stasis ability... As for your need of secrecy I fail to see why you cannot simply inject yourself before she arrives, bear in mind though that it will take me a week to replicate the sample that I have left so unless she submits to regular "blood tests" your time for training her will be few and far between."
Glancing away from the monitors for a moment James cast a bad tampered look at the silent aid who had overheard the entire conversation, "Are you still here?" the doctor asked in the tone of one not expecting an answer, "I thought you were intelligent enough to realize you were no longer needed, now leave before you interrupt one of my more delicate experiments."
As the unfortunate aid all but ran out of the door Ingham turned back to his many monitors and once more became surrounded by the eerie green glow.
Cafas: "Zephyr is the king of bad decisions, but if Sebby being weak to ghost is anything to go by, not so amazing at follow through."
“I only intend to use her powers for the first session,” Hunter explained to the doctor, “and due to the half hour time limit I want to be able to use all of that time in the training. So, do you have a secret method of getting the blood in my system? A concealed injection or a drink?”
After showing her what was possible Hunter intended to simply instruct for the other sessions. If she knew it was possible to use her power without moving her hands, or she could freeze things at will, then she would be less put off by failure.
Doctor Ingham let out a long irritated sigh and rested his arms on his desk "It is possible yes" he reluctantly conceded. "Theoretically it would be quite simple to create an injector that could be conceded beneath you everyday apparel, however it would be a few days before I have the necessary time to start working on such a device"
Personally the doctor thought that his employer was somewhat obsessed with the idea of becoming a cliched 007 style spy; always asking for a new secretive toy that could be used for some obscure unnecessary purpose. As far as the doctor was concerned life was simply a great experiment which far too often was befouled by people who did not understand the beauty of Occam's Razor which stated that the simpler an experiment was the better for all involved.
Cafas: "Zephyr is the king of bad decisions, but if Sebby being weak to ghost is anything to go by, not so amazing at follow through."
“Can you mix the sample with water so it will look like a sports drink?” Hunter asked. He could see that Dr Ingram was in one of his less helpful moods, so he would have to suggest a solution himself.
“That way I’ll drink it just before the session and she won’t know that I got her powers from her blood.” It should work, as his metabolism would quickly isolate the blood in the water and draw it into his system and give him access to her powers.
Twisting his chair round to look at his vampiric employer James regarded Hunter critically. The man was being more bothersome than usual, normally he would have accepted the first suggested Ingham made, but not today it seemed.
Resting his elbows on his arm rests and steepling his fingers together in a passable Mr. Burns impression the good doctor gave his employer a baleful look as he considered the problem and considered his words. What Hunter was proposing was not terribly difficult, it was simpoly the fact that James did not wish to be bothered with such an insignificant task. Unfortunately he couldn't pass the problem off to one of the junior scientists as anything regarding Hunters blood absorption ability was classified to anyone but him. It was something of a catch twenty two really; the fact that Hunter only trusted him meant that he was invaluable to ancient vampire, however it also meant he had to do mundane tasks like this.
Twisting back to his monitors without a word the good doctor resumed his typing, apparently having dismissed Hunters request, however if hunter knew him at all he would know that the fact James hadn't outright refused meant that it would get done... just not right away.
Cafas: "Zephyr is the king of bad decisions, but if Sebby being weak to ghost is anything to go by, not so amazing at follow through."
Hunter gave a small smile as the doctor agreed, but didn’t make a move to have it done right away. “I’m about to contact Miss Evans,” he informed Dr Ingram, “She’ll be here within the hour, I’ll need the sample ready by then.”
Knowing that the good doctor would not fail him Hunter turned and left the lab. As he did he pulled out his phone and began to dial. He spoke to Trista through the watch and informed her that training was about to begin.
