The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

"...when I find him... gonna twist his damn antennae off..." Her low grumbling wasn't helping her mood, nor was the fact that she'd more or less gotten lost. "... and beat him with it, and hope he can still feel with it, too." After being directed one way in search of her "friend" Roach, she'd managed to get turned around at some point and now had no idea where she was.
"Too many freakin' doors in this place, if you ask me." Stopping a doorway, she peeked inside. Some kind of large kitchen area. Tables everywhere... but no giant insects to be seen.
Narrowing her eyes, she sighed and mentally crossed another room off her inner checklist. "Where's Allison when you need her? This place is too big." If she hadn't been looking for her supposed-to-be-dead roommate, she'd have avoided the building all together. It still gave her all sorts of weird vibes.
Considering that she was way past annoyed with greg, and had already spent the better part of an hour searching and grilling as many people as she could for his whereabouts, 'weird vibes' were currently pretty easy to ignore. Turning away, she spotted another person to sling her questions at. Wasn't a kid, either, so maybe he'd actually have a brain in that big head of his.
"Hey, Big red, any chance you've seen a giant Cockroach scurrying around here anywhere?" So help her, if she got another lame 'This is New York, lady' joke in response, she'd burst an artery all over the wall.
Venus smiled to himself, He loved it, absolutely loved hearing a new voice, the voice was such a wonderful thing, She spoke to him before he saw her. Sass all over her voice, she was perturbed most likely with a coworker of his.
Venus spun around on his seat. Sitting he was still almost as tall as she was, not that, that made her short, it simply gave his eye level an interesting first impression. “I haven’t seen him since poker night.” He would have said Greg, but why give her more information than he needed to. He didn’t know her from anyone else in New York, but he’d like to. It had been too long since he had been out with the tattoo’s and piercing type. His eyes roved over her figure momentarily. Accessing the woman before him, she had excellent hips and a bust to match. Pale skin, stunning pale blue eyes and she wore her attitude the same way it dripped from her tone.
“I’m afraid we haven’t met, Ms.” A flick of the eyes to her left hand and ring finger, Ms. Indeed. “I’m Venus, and you are stunning, a name to match to those eyes would be lovely.” Venus stood and a casually charming smiled at the woman. He’d apologize to Greg later if he in fact was moving in on territory he aught naught be moving into.
....Or he could be one of those guys. Guess she was off about the brain thing.
Boy-golly, was he a big one, though. For a moment, she bit back a retort... considering the sheer size difference between them. If he felt like it, she was sure he could squish her like a bug for the slightest reason. Then she thought about his charming little comment, though, and the hold on her tongue vanished.
"Nice pick up line, Casanova. You get it from a popsicle stick?"
Man... why couldn't she run into people who could actually help her? All the time with the lip flapping, empty stares, shrugging... and now this!
...Still, he had mentioned something about Poker, and that was at least a direction....so maybe it wasn't hopeless. Until now she'd been running into wall after wall.
It was clear he knew Gregory, so the only issue was weaseling it out of him without ticking him off first. Maybe she'd actually have to be... nice? ...Yuck.
“My dear pick up lines are fabrications, did it hurt? What? When you fell from heaven. and so forth.” His head ticked and tocked back and forth as he did the pickup line scenario.
“You are in fact, however, both absolutely stunning and have divine pools of cerulean where your eyes are supposed to be, and lastly, Popsicle sticks, I’m afraid only tell me terrible jokes these days.” He raised an eyebrow at her daring her to argue her case further.
“I could be helpful, but I’m only helpful to my friends, and I know all of my friends names.” The ball was in her court, She could try to find someone else who knew exactly where he was ten minutes ago, or she could tell him her name and be lead on a wild goose chase, it was her choice.”
Huh... Well, he had her on that popsicle thing, at least. But still, absolutely stunning? Divine pools of cerulean?? It was like he'd just stepped out of some cheesy romance novel. Next he was gonna start quoting Fifty Shades of Grey at her or something.
"Oh my, clearly, you know what you're talking about, big guy." Because he totally had tons of experience with women looking like he did... and...was that a tail?
Great, he was a giant red monkey man. Hadn't she already dealt with enough apes for one lifetime?
He wasn't responding to grumpiness, and didn't seem to want to let the information he had (if he had any at all and wasn't simply yanking her chain) slip by without getting a name out of her first. So... switching tactics time. "You can call me charlotte in that case, since you're just so cute and all."
Maybe the super sweet, sugar coated wording was a little much.. but she was irritated beyond measure and Big Red was making himself into a large, colorful nuisance. She attempted to make up for it by plopping a hand on her hip and holding the other out for him to shake.
"Now, could you kindly point me in the direction of my most favoritest bug ever?"
