The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

"Um, well, I was wondering," Abby tried to ask her question but her words failed her.
The little girl closed her eyes and thought back to the fisherman she lived with before her Aunt and Uncle came for her. She focused on the kind couple who took care of her even though they didn't have to. Abbigail thought only of her friends and the courage they gave her.
"I was wondering if you could, could tell me a bit about this, this school. I don't know a whole lot yet," she spoke with her eyes still closed.
Before the other girl could answer, Abby dove under the water and swam around the bottom. After a few circlets, she rose to see what the older girl would say.

>>"No, it's fine. We can share... that is if you don't mind."
Abby nodded and dove under the water. She started to do loops at the bottom of the deep end. While she swam, she kept an eye on the older girl. After several minutes had passed, Abbigail rose to the surface. She swam closer to the girl, keeping with the traditional circle shark's swam in.
"Can, um, can I ask you a question?" the little blonde asked softly.

As Abbigail listened to the other girl, she messed around with a few of the things in the bag to create something.
>>“If you really want to, we can, but you’d leave yourself vulnerable. And what do you mean by a trap? I’ve got a few ideas for some superweapons. Would those work?”
Before Abby could answer Liz, the older girl was shooting spit balls(?) at one of the boys. Abby looked through the gaps in the fortress to see her hit two out of her five shots. Abby smiled and bowed.
"Milady, I bow to you and your awesome skills," Abby let out in her fake accent. "What sort of superweapons are you planning?"
Abby had somehow created a slingshot with a bent straw and a rubber band. She peeked through the gap to see if she could get a shot from the safety of the fortress.

Abby smiled at the compliment upon realizing her idea actually worked. The small blonde quickly began folding a paper airplane to attack with. She looked up when she saw Liz drop down quickly. The older girl was holding her cheek making Abbigail think she was hit.
>>“Okay, Abbey, we give them no quarter. No prisoners and no surrender! For Juliet’s honor!”
"Why don't we give them a false sense of-" she stopped not knowing the word. "Make them think they won, while we make ammo. I could crawl to where they are so as to trap them?"
Abby wasn't sure if the idea was actually good, but it was the only thing she could think of. Instead of simply throwing paper back and forth. The little girl was confident that if she did get caught, she could run back to their base before the boys got her. She often out ran the boys from her old neighborhood.

>>“Nice! M’name’s Liz. We’re the really cool Capulets and they’re the terrible, wicked Montagues. We must battle to bring honor to our clan!”
Abby grinned at the enthusiastic girl. "Name's Abbey," she tried to copy the girl's accent. "Ah got a score ta settle wit that one." Abby finished her comment with a point to the side of the boy fort with the boy who hit her.
With a quick look around, Abby noticed all the paper coming out of the girl's bag. With a grin a little too wicked for a young girl, she started to craft a boomerang. Her Uncle may not have been around a lot, but he had taught her a few cool things to do with paper. As she crafted her boomerang, she thought back to Liz's words. Montagues and Capulets were from Romeo and Juliet. Not that she knew the play very well, but Aunt Teresa had mentioned it once.
When her boomerang was complete, she collected the paper balls scattered around her and Liz. Once she had them all, she fitted them to sit on the edge of her boomerang. She set up a little prayer in hopes her idea would work, before she tossed the boomerang-bomber in range of the boys. She ducked down before she could see the effect.

Abbigail was looking around the Library for something to entertain herself. With summer upon them, the small nine year old wanted to meet new people and figure out her gifts. However, Abby also wanted to catch up on her reading, a list she had been adding to for longer than she could remember.
A small commotion in the back of the area had the blonde going to investigate. What she saw caused the small girl to pause at the edge of the scene. Two older boys and an older girl were... playing war?
Abby cocked her head to the side as she watched them. As she followed the track of a few well built paper airplanes, something struck the side of her head. She looked over to see the smaller of the boys grinning at her, another paper ball loaded in his spoon-apult.
Green eyes went wide before the little girl dropped to her knees, the paper ball flying over her. Abby giggled lightly as she quickly crawled to where the other blonde was. The enemy of my enemy. And those boys were definitely her enemy now.
Once she reached the other girl, she grinned before picking up a forgotten paper airplane and taking aim at the boy who had hit her. She was pleased to see that he had to drop behind his fort to miss getting hit.

Abby was enjoying her swim when she noticed someone speaking to her from the side of the pool. The young blonde looked over to see an older blonde girl. With a few movements of her tail, Abbigail came to be about a yard from the other girl.
Poking her head out of the water, she looked at the newcomer. Abby made sure to keep her gills underwater encase the person was actually a threat.
"Hello," she greeted softly. Her tail swung back and forth under her, trying to keep her vertical. The edges of the dark gray fin flashing under her bright green skirt. "Um, do you want me to, uh, get out?"

After more exploration in the mansion, Abbigail found a nice pool. She stayed around the area at different times of the day, hoping to find if others used the pool. After several days, she found no one coming when she was there. Encouraged, she decided to swim for a bit. She hadn't been in the water in some time.
The little girl entered the pool area slowly. She looked around out of habit but there wasn't anyone else that she could find. It was a positive thing for the little girl so she headed to the changing rooms. She took off her top to show her tankini like swim suit. She left her skirt on as she walked into the swimming area.
At the deep end she dove into the water. The painful transformation lasted for around twenty minutes as her legs were covered in scales and fins grew from her skin. Once the pain ended, Abby gleefully swam to her hearts content.

>>"Yeah, I am. I can look like other people. I could look like you, if I wanted."
Abby froze as she watched Chase. She had never seen someone look like her. It seemed like a cool gift.
"Wow," she gasped.
>>"What about you?"
"I'm a mermaid," she answered. It was the easiest way to explain what she could do. It's also what Aunt Teresa called her. "But only in water and it really hurts. Is there something special that makes you turn into people?"

The school was huge. Abbigail knew this when she first saw it. However, she was slightly scared now that she was alone and walking around the building. She thought she was headed for the kitchen for a late-night snack, but every door opened up to a classroom type setting. With a soft sigh, Abby decided to open one last door before trying to find someone.
The door she picked was simple looking, like all the other doors in the area. When she opened it, her opinion changed. There, sitting not far from her, was a baby grand piano. She hadn't seen one since leaving her Aunt and Uncle's house. She hadn't even known the school had a music room!
With a small girlish giggle, the young blonde ran for the bench. Right before he fingers touched the ivory keys, Abby froze. She looked around the rest of the room, making sure no one was around to hear her play. Once she was certain there wasn't anyone in the dark room, she started to play.

So I put off getting threads for Abby to give her a bit of time to get a thread going to get her in the Mansion. I feel that the time to let my little creation out on New York is now. I plan on keeping her mostly at the Mansion, but I won't deny any ideas for out and about threads, so long as I can figure out why my nine year old would be there.
If you wanna post with my mermaid with a shark tail, let me know ^_^

>>“Legos. You can play, if you want. I’m making a skyscraper.”
Abby nodded as she moved to sit down. Legos were a little obvious for what he was doing. However, it was nice to know what Chase was trying to make. The multicolored base wasn't very tall to the nine year old, but she figured he had just started.
>>“Are you going to go to school here? Are you a mutant?”
Abby blinked at the questions. 'Is it common for normal people to go to school here?' she wondered silently.
"I hope to," she stated softly as she picked up a few pieces of Legos. "Aunt Teresa says this place would help me with controlling my gifts. Do you have gifts too?"
The wording Abby chose were the ones that her fisherman friend used when he talked to her. "Gifted" is what he called her. However, her uncle explained to her that other people use different words than what she and the fisherman used.

>>“Hi, I’m Chase. I am ten. What is your name?”
Abby let out a soft breath in relief. The other kid, Chase, was talking to her. That was one obsticale down.
"I'm Abby and I'm nine," she answered a little louder than before.
She watched as Chase kept playing with his Legos. She wasn't sure what to do now though. Should she sit down and play with him? Or would he get angry at her? Did she go back to the bench? Or was that rude?
>>“Why do you have boy hair?”
The questions caused Abby to reach for her hair. It was rather short. She fingered one of the blonde strands near her ear. She had cut it after the accident happened. It had been tangled beyond repair and too much of a hassle for the nine year-old.
"It got in the way," she explained simply. "What are you doing?"

After a few moments spent in relative silence, Abbigail looked around the room again. This time around, she spotted a blond person sitting in the corner. They looked to be around her age, though she wasn't sure. Another glance around showed that nothing had changed besides the other kid being in the room. She figured they had to have been in the room before she and her Aunt arrived, since she hadn't heard them enter.
Abbigail stood from her place on the bench slowly. She wasn't too sure if she wanted to talk today, but making a friend was a good idea if she was going to stay at the school. With a big intake of air, the small girl started walking towards the other child.
"Um, hello," Abby greeted softly. her voice just above a whisper. Her hands held some of the extra fabric of her skirt, a nervous habit of hers.
