The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

"Uh. Am i going to wear all that?"
"Huh?" Amp glanced up at the hesitant query. Vibe just shook her head.
"Not all at once kid. But you can't go around everyday wearing the same dress. Especially not if you're going to be hanging around the Sanctuary." She thought for a moment. "Pretend they are new toys, with a new one to play with every day."
The saleswoman returned with the dress Cailyn had picked out, in several sizes. Vibe handed them to the girl.
"Try these one first, so we can figure out what size y'are."

She watched as Sam took a drink, then stuffed the drugged potato in his mouth. The age old warning about not taking medications with alcohol briefly passed though Amp's mind. Supposedly it wasn't healthy.
Imagine that? She munched on a few green beans.
“Well get used to it, as long as I am around you’ll have some one to worry about you.”
She smiled, but said nothing.
“It is amazing, and where did you learn how to cook?”
She opened her mouth to reply, 'My sister'. But before she could something else slipped out of Sam's mouth.
“I envy the guy who can call you his wife.”
She wondered if her own expression came across as surprised as his did. He looked away, pretending he hadn't said anything, so she did the same. However, something about that remark unsettled her insides.
They continued to talk while they ate, on much lighter subjects. She was only halfway through before he'd finished, so she reached for his plate.
Amp pulled out two beers; she'd discovered Sam had a weakness when it came to alcohol, which could only help her tonight.
"Just a couple won't hurt," she said with a wink. She plopped onto the couch beside him, and began digging into her own food.
“So any dips in your blood sugar again?”
She shrugged. "A couple, but nothing like the other day. It usually happens in the morning, when I get up. Nothing serious." She shot him a somewhat embarrassed smile. "Thanks for worrying, though. I'm not used to that...."
She popped the lid on her bottle, and took a quick drink, then asked, "So? Does my cooking meet with your approval?"

The steaks were just about finished when Sam walked in.
"Well, don't you look dapper. I feel under-dressed now." Amp's version of 'under-dressed' included a rust colored shirt-and-skirt combo that matched her hair, and simple ballet flats instead of going barefoot.
“Smells good. I am gonna use your bathroom real quick.”
"Mmkay," she replied, and began lining the table with food; mashed potatoes, green beans, salad, and garlic bread. Her table was too small to set everything out and eat, too, so that meant they would have to eat on the coffee table and couch.
She had just put the meat on two plates when she felt herself pulled into a hug. She twisted in his arms to return the kiss.
“Miss me?”
"Wouldn't you like to know," she teased with a not-so-innocent grin, and poked the tip of his nose lightly. She pulled one of his hands loose and stuck a plate in it. "I hope you brought your appetite, 'cause I don't plan on keeping leftovers."
She waited for him to get his food first, before serving her own. She avoided the potatoes and salad dressing, under the guise of them being too many carbs. Before he could get to the bread, she picked up two pieces, dropping one onto his plate before biting into hers.
"Sorry," she apologized. "I love garlic bread."
She set her plate on the living room coffee table, then returned to the kitchen.
“Yeah I think I might be able to stomach something after the scare you gave me. The café we were just at?”
She nodded. "I guess I should apologize for scaring them, too."
She slid off of the bed, a bit wobbly, but no longer totally unbalanced. Idly she noticed once more how much taller Sam was than her.
Back in the front room, Amp spotted her bag. "Aiie, I forgot!" She retrieved it and pulled out a small snowglobe. Inside, a snowman tipped his hat at an icy ballerina amid the faux blizzard.
"I know its cheesy," she remarked, handing it to him, "but it kinda reminded me of that lake show of yours. And we all need a few useless knicknacks, right?"
A small part of Amp felt bad for what she was about to do to the poor guy. A very small part. Ah well. She'd set the snowglobe on her nightstand after the deed was done.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
It had taken longer than a week to get the ingredients she needed to implement her attack, much to Amp's frustration. And what she really wanted would take even longer; apparently curare wasn't as easy to get as she thought, even with the Order's connections. So she had to settle for the sleeping pills instead. Sam was a big guy, so she'd need to find a way to get a lot into him to be effective. She figured she knew how to get him distracted enough so he wouldn't notice.
If she could go through with it....
She'd invited him over for dinner. Not a fancy one, but still nice. She even did the cooking herself; it was easier to know what had been drugged and what hadn't that way. If she calculated right, it would take about two hours for the stuff to kick in. She'd wait an hour after that, just to be sure.
A devilish glint twinkled in the redhead's eyes as she set two steaks in the skillet, and they began sizzling ominously.
The girls took note of Cailyn's choice, and it was the first thing they asked the saleswoman to find. While she went, the girls guided her toward the dressing rooms, pulling out other items along the way.
"White's fine and all," Vibe remarked, moving to a nearby rack, "but you really need some color, kid."
Dresses of blue, green, yellow, red and pink began forming a small pile on a nearby seat. A smaller mountain of shoe boxes grew to meet its larger cousin, courtesy of Amp.
"Ever worn high heels before?" She doubted it, but there was no time like the present to learn. If Cailyn didn't object, the Twins would continue to hand her things to try on.
Vibe chuckled and Amp rolled her eyes at Cailyn. The blond girl may as well have been a five-year-old with her reactions to things.
"All right, kid," Amp spoke up, placing a hand on the girl's shoulder. "First things first. We need to get you some decent clothes."
They paused in front of a clothing store, mannequins displaying a number of different styles in the window, everything from casual jeans and t-shirts, to lighter everyday dresses, skirts and blouses, to the more night-oriented garments and accessories. Some of them sparkled with fake rhinestones and glittery embellishments, while deep colors saturated others.
"See anything there you like? Or any colors you like?"
With their tag-along's inexperience, the Sonics didn't trust the girl not to be overwhelmed by the sheer amount of garments inside of the store. Best to get an idea first, then work from that.
They waited for an answer before entering the boutique, and looking around for a sales clerk. A young woman approached, a textbook 'sales smile' plastered on her face.
(OOC: Continued from Welcome Shiny World. Open to 1 or 2 (max) others besides Hymn and myself.)
Times Square during the day didn't offer quite the same experience as did the night scene. But the Twins weren't there to sight-see. They were there for Cailyn to sight-see.
Not more than an hour earlier the new Sanctuary resident had confessed to never having been shopping, and claimed to not know what money was. To the Sonic Sisters, that was more than a shame; it was an heart-wrenching tragedy. One that needed immediate correction.
So late morning found them strolling through the crowds, a novice Cailyn in tow, debating where to go first.
He reached down to kiss her. “Of course I do, just don’t give me a scare like that again, okay?”
Amp smiled. "Okay. Promise."
She reached up to kiss him again, deeper this time to show she was coming around, and to further put him at ease. She could tell by the look on his face, and his general stance, how happy Sam was. She could probably get anything she wanted out of him right at that moment, with no protests. Inwardly she smirked.
<"Too easy.">
It would have been fun to try, to see just what kind of lengths she could push him to, to see what he would do to please her. But he was too good of a guy, and probably wouldn't be worth the effort. Besides, she was growing bored of this game. It was time to end it and move on to the next one.
She sighed, and sat up, pulling away from him slightly, still smiling.
"I think I'm all right now. If you're still up for lunch, eating would actually be a really good thing for me right now. The juice helped, but I really do need to eat something solid."
A week. She needed to make a few requests at King Pharmaceuticals, which would take a week to fill. After that, the game would end. And Sam along with it.
Vibe decided not to argue with her. She had a feeling that, if Cailyn really knew what she was doing, 'scary' would be an understatement not applied to Blythe and her crew.
The timid blond nodded in reply to going out to eat, so the redhead helped her to her feet and handed her a napkin.
"Sounds like a plan then. Let's go pick up my sister, then we'll go. Maybe we can hit some shopping afterward. That oughta make ya happy again, right?"
Maybe Syn would be able to figure out the girl's mutation, and make use of it. In the meantime, the Sonic Sisters could attempt to simultaneously befriend the mental girl, and have some fun in the process.
She led the way to the upper level of the Sanctuary, and out into the Lobby. Amp leaned against Lisa's desk, shamelessly reading over the secretary's shoulder. Seeing her sister approach, she nodded a greeting.
"This is Amp, my sister," Vibe introduced her twin. To Amp she silently added, >Watch your thoughts. Just in case.<
Immediately a smile flashed onto the shorter-haired redhead's face.
The hug took the redhead by surprise, and it took conscious effort not to pull back.
"Im scared," Cailyn cried softly.
Awkwardly, Vibe patted the girl’s shoulder. ”I don’t see why,” she remarked. ”Seems to me that you’re the one doing the scaring.”
She glanced around, and reached out with her senses to search for her sister. She found Amp in the Pool.
>Up for a shopping trip with a tag-along?< Though she couldn’t hear Amp’s reply, she could feel her curiosity.
”What d’ya say we go out for breakfast instead, kid?” she asked Cailyn aloud. ”Maybe do some shopping. Get your mind off of these jerks.” She glared around the room, as numerous gazes were quickly averted.
Vibe barely contained a relieved shudder as the eerie tune faded away. As it did, Blythe and her friends seemed to come out of.... well, whatever it was that Cailyn had done. The taller girl staggered backwards. Vibe took the opportunity to play the friend, and stepped forward.
"I suggest you find amusement elsewhere," she growled at the group. "I doubt Syn would be happy to find out you were torturing one of her personal picks."
Sure it was a lie, but the mention of the Order's leader had a profound effect on the aggressive crew. Glaring bullets, they backed off, then slunk away. Vibe knelt by Cailyn's side.
"Are you okay kid?" She snorted. "Whatever you did to Blythe really threw her for a loop.
(OOC: Many apologies for both the delayed and short response. I was at a loss for what to do. ><)
"How boo~ooring."
Both girls heard Blondie shouting clear as day, and could see her pouting sluggishly. "This train has to be going somewhe---AH!"
Focused on the supersonic sound map, both Twins looked upward reflexively, as if Kaz were entering their own car, not the next one over. The woman was knocked backwards onto her back as he dropped down next to her.
"Ow! What was that for?"
Amp rolled her eyes. "Oh, I dunno. Maybe for destroying half of the train for no reason?"
The petite redhead held back from attacking just yet. Kaz could handle himself, and it would be that much more fun to see the shock on Blondie's face when she got an earful out of nowhere.
He stood up, and came to her side, then kissed her on the forehead.
<"Sap,"> Amp thought to herself. This job was going to inflate her ego as an actor at this rate.
“Besides even with the Diabetes your tougher than me.”
She hoped so, though not for the same reasons.
“you doing better?”
She pressed herself closer to him, into his chest, and nodded.
"I will be. It just takes a few minutes to kick in."
They sat there for a what seemed like a long time, though it really wasn't. Finally the shakiness faded, and she could think clearly again. She took a deep breath and let it out slowly, then tilted her head upwards, still snuggled into him.
