The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

Sarah smiled at Shawn's comment. It was something she heard all the time, but every time it reassured her of her choices.
>>“Aim from Nawlens. We love artists down thea. What’s yer poison? Paintin’, drawin’, sculptin’?”
"Painting. It's always painting or sketching with me. I can't sculpt even if my life depended on it," she answered Emily with a laugh.
Before she could comment on Shawn's job, which seemed to be rather interesting, he was asking the blonde about her job. And what he said made sense. Most people don't grow up wanting to work in Emily's field of work. It was usually something they decided later in life.
>>“Mai uncle runs tha place. Ai moved up hea to help him out at the funeral parlor.”
The brunette's didn't seem to be leaving any time soon. Either Emily had been close to her uncle and decided to help out, or the more depressing option, she was forced to move due to family obligations.
"That's cool, working with your family. Were you close with your uncle before you moved here?"
Okay, so the alcohol was definitely making her tongue loose. Normal night wouldn't have her being so forward. She'd probably need painkillers in the morning, and some serious sleep. Yup, she wouldn't be drinking any more alcohol tonight, not if she could help it.

Streak was enjoying Emily's accent. He didn't hear many people talk like that. The most interesting one he'd heard recently was a new mutant from Ireland. Accents always made the person sound cooler than others who just talked normally, in his opinion. That was probably why he was enjoying this conversation with Emily and Sarah so much. Sarah didn't seem to have much of an accent but he could tell that she wasn't from here originally. The West Coast always sounded different than anywhere else. He blamed California for that though.
The silvermancer took a sip of his drink and looked at Sarah. It was an interesting question that she'd posed but he thought it might be a little to personal of an explanation, even if the decision for Emily to work with her uncle was just because they were close. He decided to change the subject to something a little lighter and possibly a little less embarrassing for both of them.
Before Emily could answer he turned to Sarah and said, "So, Sarah, what kind of paintings do you do? Are we hanging out with the next Picasso or Michelangelo?" Streak knew that they were both very different painters but they were the most familiar he was with paintings. Art was always a subject he never really understood. As far as he was concerned the artist seemed to make up some definition about his/her painting that never seemed to make sense.
He actually began to wonder what exactly she painted. The difference in the types of paintings that were available was staggering. Finally he said, "Either way I'd still go to see your paintings." He flashed his best Prince Charming smile at her. Shawn was starting to feel the affects of the alcohol but he certainly didn't really care as long as he didn't make a fool of himself.

Emily's phone vibrated a second time. Once again, it was her friend.
Heyy! I hate to do this but I need your help. Can you stop by my place ASAP? <3 u!!
She looked at her two new companions. "Um, it seems my friend needs me. I must be off. It was nice meeting you both." Before another second passed, she left the club. Maybe she would run into those two again one day.
