The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

Everything was working out well, wasn't it? Gregory certainly couldn't complain about his new hat, and the girl was running over to the crane as he'd directed; he knew because he looked up, and saw her run that way. Odd, that she didn't look back at him, but he supposed she was so happy to help him that she didn't want to waste time fawning over his magnificence.
Has hat started chew at his antennae. He blinked a few times, and reached up to try and swat calmly at it. Maybe if he gave it a little bonk on the head it would stop trying to eat his feeler; I wasn't as if he could blame the small creature. If he saw something as tasty as he was, he would probably want to get a bite in as well... Still, it was ill manners to nibble without asking first. "Do you mind? I'll have you know that chewing on a chaps chitin is quite rude."
Now, as Sarah would soon find out, there was a manual. What she might not notice for a few more seconds, was that the chain around the stone was detached from the hook on the crane, which still hung right next to it; someone would have to attach the chain if they wanted to crane to be of any use. This would also mean getting rather close to a giant cockroach man, who would be simply impossible to notice.
"How's it going up there, my dear? Any progress?"
Thanks to Andrea and Jorge for my sigs! I WABBLE YOUUU! AV Roach~

Nom nom nom nom nom! Elizasquirrel attacked that stick with all of her might. Take that! And that! And some of thiiiiiiis! The substance, however, managed to fight back with a terrible taste and tormenting texture. It was sooo disgusting. It was crinkle-crunchy and tasted like....like....probably rotting tree-bark-wood. That is, if she’d ever eaten that stuff before. Quite possibly she would have continued to endeavor in her ediblelicious activities, except of course for the tiny fact of being flattened by a phalange.
“EeeeeEEEEEeeeEEEeeee!” She squealed in reflex. The impact stunned her for a moment, but she was quickly trying to squirm around again. “Squee-eeeee!” she screamed. If her captor was a proper individual and was therefore conversant in Squirrelish, he would’ve understood her to be saying, “I most certainly do mind, buster! I’m on top of a freakin’ head, being felt up by freakin’ feelers! So maybe you should just let me go and I’ll promise to not shred your head![/i]” (Squirrels are highly renowned for being able to squeeze lengthy dialogues into short sound-bites.)
But the loser who was holding her captive probably didn’t understand any of that. Although his voice filtered through the air, as if seeking another person to be the intended recipient for his words. Someone like...woah! Her captor sounded just like the guy they were going to rescue from underneath the rock! It was uncanny! After all, how frequently do you find two people with the same voices underneath the same rock? Like one in a billion! If Liz hadn’t been stuck to a head, she probably would’ve danced with giddiness.
But she actually was stuck to a head, so dance she did not. But she had another option. If she could just squeak a little bit louder, maybe Sarah would hear her and rescue her from the Stick-Man! “Squeeeeeeeak!”
Unbeknownst to Elizasquirrel, however, squirrel’s really can’t project their voices that far.
Once Sarah began her search for a manual of sorts, she tried to block out what was happening with the man and her squirrel friend. When she found the manual, the brunette started to skim what she'd need to do. While she read, she missed the man's question, thinking he was singing once again. The one thing that stopped her was the part that read:
Before beginning, make sure object is hooked up to crane!
"How often did that happen that they had to put that in the manual?" she asked herself.
Looking down at the crane she realized that the rock wasn't on the hook. With a sigh, she placed the manual where she would find it before starting the climb down the ladder. As she got closer to the man pinned by the rock, she began to hear the squirrel squeaking. She slowed a little as she tried to figure out what had happened while she was in the crane.
"Uh, sir? Is everything alright?" she asked after she stopped, just far enough away so she couldn't make out the man's appearance. She could however make out that he didn't seem to have a normal human anatomy. This fact worried her.
