The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

A pair of notes showed up to Allison's and Aura's rooms, along with a a woman holding a plastic dress bag and a bag of tools to do make up hair and anythings else a lady might need to prepare for a date. The notes were similar but not quite the same, as well as different but similar dresses.
The note to Allison looked something like this:
Allison, I would like to invite you out tonight, it would be my pleasure to spend the evening basking in your presence. Meet me in the lobby at 6 tonight? -Aura-
The note to Aura that the stylist read at request sounded something like this:
Aura, I saw you two at the club the other night, I thought I might help you both get where you are going a little bit quicker, Allison is Adorable and I think you would do well to keep her next to you. IF nothing else a Romantic evening will serve as a good chance to get know her better.
Once and if the ladies agreed they would be besieiged by a stylist that while intrusive was so very effecting in what she did. Aura when properly persuaded would end up dressed like so
And like wise Alison if proded and pleaded with enough might end up dressed like this.
At least that was how Venus saw it working out. He couldn't control how they looked or what they wore beyond send a couple of the most persuasive and talented young women, he had met...this week.
He could however employee the best chauffeur he knew and give them an evening of intrigue and entertainment. He arranged everything for a perfect, romantic night and saw to it that Aura would be receiving the credit.
When returning to her room, Allison had expected to find a bed, desk, and chair. She had not expected to fine a note and a stranger waiting, evidently patiently, for her. The contents of the note were even less expected.
Allison took a moment to mouth “spend the evening basking in your presence” back at the paper incredulously. Did people actually say that? Aura had shown an odd way of speaking, but it hadn’t seemed like quite that form of odd.... Why anyone would want to fake a note from Aura, though....
...Well, there was the fact that Allison had been saved by Aura the first time she’d been kidnapped, and quite possibly had been noticed to spend time with her. And she could think of about four reasons someone might want to kidnap her off the top of her head. And if she thought she was already with Aura, she’d feel secure enough not to be alert, or look for the actual Aura to protect her from the fake one. Of course, the use of a shapeshifting mutant to pretend to be Aura eliminated one option to want to kidnap her, unless they felt secure in getting to her just in the lobby, or didn’t hate mutants too much to use controlled ones to catch others....
...Allison might be getting a tiny bit paranoid now. Time to turn off that line of thought.
She glanced up at the woman who’d given her the note. “Okay, so why are you here?”
The rambling, excited tirade the woman launched into was... informative. She was a stylist supposed to help Allison prepare for the date. (Date? Since when had Aura shown any interest that would lead to a date, of a level that required a stylist, too?) It was also a small bit terrifying, as the woman launched into jargon that Allison vaguely understood alternately had to do with her hair, makeup and nails.
And why Aura apparently thought she needed a stylist....
...Okay, so a glance at her closet answered that question. She definitely didn’t have anything like that dress anymore. She eyed said dress, tuning out the woman’s rambling. Red wasn’t normally her first pick, but....
(“Red is associated with power, confidence, and sexual appeal. If you can make it go with your complexion, and don’t have to present a docile persona, red is your best pick for making an impression.”)
...And old teaching aside, if Aura had plans that required her to wear something that nice, well, she didn’t have anything else to wear instead. Allison sighed and looked back at the stylist. “Okay, so, in English, what is it you want me to do?”
This was just too surreal to be a trick.
~~~
Allison had refused the shoes. She didn’t care if they were cute, they were pink, and they were high heels, neither of which quality Allison appreciated. Fortunately, she’d had shoes of her own to wear; plain, flat, shiny, black shoes, bought years ago for some event (she thought it was a charity), which she’d kept through the move to New York and then to Sanctuary because, as short as they made her feel, they were far more comfortable than any other dress shoes she’d found. No blisters, and no pain from standing for ten minutes. More than worth keeping, in Allison’s opinion.
Shoes replaced, and everything else obediently done according to the stylist’s instructions, Allison wandered carefully down to the lobby just before six. She got a few odd looks on the way; whether it was because it was odd to see her dressed that way, or because it was odd for anyone in Sanctuary to be dressed that way, she wasn’t sure; she suspected some of both. That reaction was one she was used to, though, so she ignored it, focusing on walking calmly. The shoes weren’t that different from running shoes, but there was a little difference, and she hadn’t worn them in at least a few years.
And, it was easier to focus on walking than what she was walking to. Shoes were simple. Dates were more complicated, and she didn’t feel like letting herself start feeling tongue tied and self conscious before she even got there. She’d gone on dates before. Not many, and most of them she’d been unaware it was a date until halfway through if not days later, but she had. Feeling self conscious was unnecessary. As was blushing.
...Allison wished her mind listened to logic a little better.
She paused outside the lobby to breath. Aura probably wasn’t even there yet. Waiting was easy.
Aura read the note again with a bit of confusion. She had no idea where they were going and although she did feel Allsion was very pretty, she was unsure why Venus wanted her to stick by her side. Aura considered the idea that their might be danger, it was true Allsion had been attacked a few times. Not fully understanding what was going on, Aura decided to let venus's plan proceed without resistance. If he thought she needed to stick close to Allsion their had to be a reason for it.
Aura was further confused when the stylist started barking out orders. Since Venus had sent her Aura complied without complaint. The stylist however seemed to do nothing but complain. Words like split end's and bad dye job were used when it came to her hair. She smelled somthing she at first was convinced was poisen, she was informed however that her hair was being redyed black again so her roots did not show. Aura wanted to protest she was a mutant and not a plant, but the woman grabbed her jaw and got close into her face.
It took Aura's deep focus and control to avoid reflexively stabbing, very few things grabbed her at all, with her Aura being touched was optional. The Stylist looked at her oddly, when Aura admitted rarely useing a comb. The stylist deployed a large beg of color and brushes and asked Aura to close her eyes, Aura soon felt the woman's expert hand attack her face with the brushes. She seemed surprised when Aura told her she did not own any make up.
Aura slipped into the dress with a bit of help, as Aura found it hugged her body tightly, hugging her curves. It was nothing she would have normally worn, of course Aura usually just wore whatever she grabbed off the floor first. Aura only realized how different she looked when she saw herself n a mirror. Her Hair was just black, except for a small purple streak on either side of her face. Her hair was pin straight falling to just above her butt. The stylist had focused on her eyes for her makeup and had given purple stud earrings matching the hair streaks.
Aura had been dressed this way once or twice before but was always surprised on just how different she looked. She was then handed something she almost never used, a purse, already packed for her. Still Confused and feeling she got little of value information wise on what was going on she proceeded to the lobby.
Aura glanced down at the purple Acrylic nail's on her fingers. At least one part of this made sense, if they were in danger and could not use their powers, she had weapons. Aura looked around, Allison was easy to spot as Aura moved to the lobby. Allison was dressed beautifully as well which stood out from the usual sanctuary resident. Aura had never been on a date and had no idea she was going on one.
"Hello, my lovely freind" She said with a smile on gloss coated lips. Aura with a bit of confusion which might have looked like nervousness. Aura offers Allsion a box, which was wrapped in red ribbon. Aura had no idea what was in the jewelery box, but had been told by the stylist to give it to Allison, as Venus had said it might help. Help with what she had never gotten an answer for. Aura looked over Allsion, she really was beautiful, she thought to herself.
It took a second for Allison to recognize Aura. Her mental image of Aura was more associated with blood and jeans than anything else, and certainly not with fancy dresses and purses. Sure, she could have expected that Aura would be dressed nicely as well, but somewhere on the way between logic and her mental image, that particular bit of information had gotten lost.
...The hair fit a bit better, though. Nice as it was, purple hair in any amount would have been distinctly frowned upon at any type of business anything Allison had ever been to, except maybe for one charity event for a specific neighborhood, but even then the neighborhood’s residents had been the recipients of patronizing charity, not respectful help. So, purple hair was definitely new.
Allison smiled as soon as she recognized Aura, reminding herself an instant later to stop blushing and actually look at Aura. The eye contact thing was fairly easy, blushing was a bit harder to control. “Hello.”
Lovely friend sounded a bit like pretty fr... oh. Oh, okay, maybe there had been hints before. Allison had just missed them. She was going to have to be less oblivious about things like that. Somehow. Romance novels or movies might help, but... Allison doubted she had the patience to actually pay attention through one of those, much less many, and even then she doubted she could sort out theatrical cliches from reality. Allison accepted the box automatically, her fingers brushing over the ribbon and her mind still chasing itself through ideas and memories and possibilities. “Thank you.” She hesitated an instant, but she didn’t really have anywhere to put the box, and Aura had just given it to her, and it was just as automatic to slide the ribbon off and open the box as it had been to accept it.
Seeing the necklace inside the box abruptly stopped all thought as Allison stared. That... was far beyond what she was expecting. Anything was beyond what she’d been expecting, really, but... she was pretty sure that was an actual ruby. And, well, if anyone made a necklace with an actual ruby and not actual gold, it was probably custom made... and probably made with actual gold anyway, as much as the order would confuse the people making it. Allison’s fingers hovered over the necklace for a moment before picking it up, “thank you” coming out a bit more like a whisper than she’d have preferred as she held it up, still shocked, before attempting to open the clasp so she could put it on.
And, in the attempt, immediately dropping the box. She squeaked and ducked to retrieve it, standing back up with an (even more) obvious blush that she didn’t bother trying to hide. “Um.” She’d already said thank you, sorry seemed a bit unnecessary. “Could you, um, help me? I don’t have enough hands....”
Staring at Aura’s shoulder would not make the blush go away or make it invisible, but that didn’t mean Allison wasn’t willing to try.
Aura had not been sure what was in the box though her complete obliviousness to things like value and jewelery, kept her straight faced as if she had been expecting it come out. Aura smiled a bit brighter, as it was a very pretty necklace. TO Aura a ruby was literately a shiny rock though one she noticed seem to match Allsion's dress well. Allsion seemed surprised by the gift and Aura was about to mention who it was actually from, but Allsion dropped the box and picked it up.
Stepping Closer Aura gently took the necklace from Allsion's, "Of course" she said with a small laugh at Allison not having enough hands. Slipping behind Allsion, Aura looked at the clasp, and quickly realizing the weapons on her fingers prevented it from being easy, Aura paused a moment, sweeping her mostly black locks behind her. Useing Her Aura she got the clasp apart. She swept' Allsion's hair aside a moment, her nails softly running across skin, though Aura was only briefly aware of the contact. She slipped the necklace on Allsion and Did the clasp, before stepping back and then moving to get a better look at the necklace from the front. Looking at the ruby however made aura quite close to staring at Allsions's chest.
Looking up Aura saw the color of Allson's cheeks and was glad she really liked the gift. "It almost matched your cheeks to" she said trying to be helpful. She had to admit somthing about the way Allsion was dressed, blushed and was acting made aura's heart beat a bit faster. She did not understand why, or how she felt really. "It is pretty, but not as pretty as you" Aura said glancing back at the necklace.
Aura was unsure what was going on or why Venus had wanted her to stay close to the pretty redhead, Still Aura could hardly object to any mission with Allsion involved. The necklace seemed normal enough as well, she only wished venus had given her more information. She twiled the Small purple streak of hair on her right side around her finger as she thought. Looking at the clock she saw it was still a few minutes untill six. "The limo should be here soon" she explained.
SHe noticed a faint smell, one she had realized she had smelled when she helped Allsion out moments earlier.Aura looked down as if embarred she had been snififng Allsion perfume. It was an enchanting scent, Aura thought to herself, a faint blush comming over her cheeks easily. Aura had not blushed much so she had no real defence against the act. She shifted the small clutch purse, it had a long shoulder strap, and Aura found it easy to rest her arm on top of the beg, the dress and 1 1/2 heels made her walk with a natural sway to her hips Aura normally lacked.
A sleek black limousine pulled up outside of the sanctuary, a man in a suit stepped out of the car and walked around to the back passenger side to open the door for them at their leisure, he had been paid well for the night and tipped generously to see that these ladies got where they were going.
The ladies in question were beautiful, but his demeanor was nothing but respectful. "Will you be dining first tonight, or would you prefer to take entertainment first?" The limo driver asked calmly. He had instructions on where to take them in either case and would be coordinating with the establishments so everything was prepared before hand, everything was to go off without a hitch or heads would roll, and they all knew Venus was serious when, he demanded good service.
The interior had a fully stocked bar and absolute privacy, controls for any sort of entertainment they might like was at their fingertips.
Allison was acutely aware of the light brush of Aura’s nails against her neck, the way her hair moved, and the weight of the necklace. She reached up automatically so her fingers brushed over the pendant, glancing up with a smile as Aura moved back in front of her. “Thank you.”
"It almost matches your cheeks too."
Allison laughed. “Thanks.” She was pretty sure--completely sure, actually--that that was far from an actual compliment, but she was equally sure it was intended as one, so she smiled. At least she matched, anyway; red dress, red nails, red necklace, red hair, and apparently, red cheeks as well. She was pretty sure that many shades of red weren’t supposed to go together... but supposedly neither were black and blue, and she’d never seen a reason for that rule.
"It is pretty, but not as pretty as you."
Allison squeaked, automatically ducking her head to look at her shoes. “You’re trying to make me blush.”
It made perfect sense to Allison. More than the idea that she was acting like a thirteen year old with a crush on her own, anyway.
“Limo?” Allison glanced back up at the distraction, finally managing to get a little bit of control over the blush. She... had not been expecting a limo. She hadn’t been expecting anything, really, but a limo was particularly surprising. She’d been pretty sure that no limo company would dare enter the neighborhoods around Sanctuary, much less stop at Sanctuary itself.
And then Aura blushed. Which was completely adorable and kind of made Allison want to snuggle her. Like a kitten, only a bit more dignified.
...Probably. Allison was sure the kittens, at least, would claim that their snuggling was more dignified. She smiled.
The limo, once it arrived, was a further surprise. The driver made sense; Allison certainly couldn’t drive a limo, and she’d be surprised if Aura could. Not to mention that it had had to arrive to begin with. The inside of the limo, though, was more of a surprise. Allison had been in limos like that before, and knew what they tended to cost.
Normally, Allison didn’t bother with the pasts of anyone in Sanctuary; she figured they didn’t matter. On the other hand, the average person living in a homeless shelter wouldn’t be able to afford any single piece of what had already showed up in this date, much less all of it and whatever was still planned.
Allison was sure there was an explanation, but she was also sure it was an interesting one. Asking would have been rude, though, so instead she glanced at Aura when the driver asked where they’d go. She had no idea what dinner or entertainment meant, and no particular inclination to pick without knowing. “Either is fine for me.”
Aura smiled, but she noticed a strange sensation within her. SHe knew she had orders, all be it ones which she enjoyed, to stay close to Allsion. Aura had no idea why, not why her body was acting so strangely but they seemed more pleasant then harmful and since they were At Sanctuary she guessed it mattered less. Aura took the thanks as helping Allsion put the necklace on, instead of understanding Allsion thought it was a gift from her directly.
Aura could only giggle a bit as she was accused of trying to make Allsion Blush. It was hard to deny though as she realized that it was exactly what she was trying to do. "You might be right she said in reply her voice slightly softer then she intended. Aura smiled as she looked up at the time. It was six and she smiled as she saw the Limo pull up. Aura ahd seen limo's but had never actually been in one. To her they were long cars that fit many people. "Well last time i drove......i parked in someones pool" she said feeling a bit more embarrassed then normal, but dismissing the feeling.
Aura left out that during that ride she also killed an old man, broke through at least six fences and likely caused other relatively minor damage. Still this was likely better left unsaid. Aura focussed instea don the limo, it was very big. Aura ahd to wonder if this was for protection and if was big becuse it had some kind of armor. The driver had to be a mutant as well, or he prolbely would never have stopped at sanctuary.
Never once did it cross Aura's mind that any of this costs anything. . SHe had no idea idea what a limo cost, the price of gasoline or even Allsions necklace had costs. Aura simply accepted it like she would have accepted an order van, the windows were even tinted the same. Aura never considerd it was for different reasons.
Aura looked around in awe as she saw the inside of the limo and again wonderd on her vague instructions. The Limo looked like a small room. Their was no dust or dirt anywhere to be found. Aura sat down somwhat unladylike and ran her fingers over the soft seat cushions. Aura knew liquor when she it as well. "This thing is like a room on wheels. she said unsure how to decribe it.
Aura had no idea on either option either but with allsion not careing which it was left up to her. Fuguring no matter what happened at the entertainment, they could always eat later if something bad happened. "Entertainment then?" Aura almost asked the driver. She figured if their was danger it would happen when they were at whatever this entertainment was and Allsion would likely be safer at dinner anyway.
Aura smiled softly and offered a hand out to Allsion to help her get in as well. Thoughts of the limo's defences floated away as her eyes looked at Allsions. She also wondered where they were going for either dinner or fun though these things seemed less urgent. Venus had taken care of the details after all, and Aura beleived he knew what he was doing.
The limo driver nodded, Politely spouting. "Yes Mam, You'll find a box inside and don't worry when the glass at the front is up I can't see through."with that unusual bit of information he went around the front of the limo.
Once the Ladies were settled The driver would set off to Coney Island and luna park as quickly as he could. When they got around to looking in the box They would find outfits in their sizes. truth be told Venus might be able to pick clothes for women, better than the women themselves. The outfits were complete down to sensible shoes for the walk around the park, There were also two VIP passes to the park along with a map, the back of the passes explained that they wouldn't have to wait in lines and all of the tickets and food would be billed to an prepaid for account.
Venus considered writing a note explaining the need to change to enjoy the park, but surely they could figure it out, he was also tempted to put undergarments in with everything else, but sensed that was crossing a line.probably?
Allison... wasn’t actually sure how to respond to Aura agreeing that she was trying to make Allison blush. Everyone else had either denied it, or given excuses for why. Simple agreement was unheard of. Allison blinked in confusion.
Aura’s driving, however, had more obvious responses. “I... did not know that was possible,” seemed like the safest one. Better than ‘I really want to meet whoever taught you to drive, as long as they’re not allowed anywhere near a car when in the same city as me.’ That one could have been a tiny bit offensive, possibly.
Allison’s own driving... well, she hadn’t driven anywhere in most of a year, so she was a bit out of practice. Apart from that, though... she’d learned to drive in Chicago. She could drive, but it would look quite reckless to anyone not from a large city.
She hadn’t driven though any pools, though. She could always claim that, now.
Aura’s description of the limo was as accurate as any Allison could think of. “A lot are.” That, she thought it more likely that Aura would know than not, but it seemed like a more interesting agreement than ‘yeah.’ “This one’s nicer than most I’ve seen, though.” It had shelves, even. Tiny shelves, hidden in a corner and with doors to keep anything in them from falling out, but still shelves. The glass was frosted, but Allison suspected there were glasses of some kind on them.
Choice handed off to Aura, Allison approved of it. Dinner was, relatively, consistent; there was only so much variation to be had between restaurants. Unless ‘dinner’ included walking between hot dog vendors, but that seemed a bit below the level of date they were on. And even then, food was a pretty common theme.
Entertainment had significantly more varied options, and as soon as she thought about it, Allison was curious about what Aura had chosen. She couldn’t honestly think of anything she associated with Aura that also fit the limo and the way they were dressed. So she was slightly distracted when Aura offered a hand to help her into the limo, though not distracted enough to be unaware that she was blushing again. At least it wasn’t as much as before.
The blush was dropped in favor of suspicion at the driver’s comment. ‘Don’t worry, I can’t see you’? What exactly did he expect...? Privacy was nice, sure, but not such a strict requirement for sitting in a car. Allison was pretty sure she didn’t have a reputation for excessive paranoia or obsession, at least not about privacy, and she hadn’t heard anything along those lines about Aura either. Not that she’d heard much about Aura from anyone, but still. What exactly was the driver expecting to happen?
Aura shrugged slightly, she had only driven a rough hand full of times and none had resulted well for anyone involved. Aura knew as well you needed one of those picture ID thing's and with her less then legal activates including her attempts at driving, the humans who ran the world were unlikely to hand one to her. She could get a fake one she knew but usually walking or an order van worked just as well to get her anywhere in the city she needed to go. Which made her wonder why they were using this mini house on wheels.
Aura found herself opening one of the small cabinets but looked away when Allsion explained that a lot of Limo's were like this. Aura looked around the cabin of the limo again, it was nicer then her own room though smaller. The limo had certainly been meant for people to be close, she noted to herself taking in the features of the limo. She ajusted herself in the seat and even pulled the dress down a bit when she realized th way she had sat and helping Allsion into the car had moved her dress up more then she was comfortable with.
The car door slid shut behind them gently and as it did the sounds of the outside world seemed whisked away. Aura could also hear a faint singing voice throught the car speakers, clear to anyone but Aura to be romance music. The car ride was smooth for the most part, a bump in the road, dislodged a bottle of champaign which rolled onto the soft, carpeted floor, opposite of Allsion and Aura. Glancing back at the cabinet Aura saw their were a few rows of such bottels and held tightly in place at the bottum were two glasses.
Aura then made the wrong move, and stood up as best she could and then bent down from the waist, showing just how unused to such a garment she was. Her dignity however was lost for another reason. The Limo then turned and Aura stumbled, driving her foot down hard to try and keep herself upright, Aura heard a small snap as the heel of her shoe broke. Off balance Aura fell backward, she tried to grab onto something but her long nails prevented her from getting a grip, then she fell back landing square in Allsion's lap, falling into almost laying down position, but one arm had kept her from bouncing her head of the seat cushion, her other shoe hit a button, and the music started playing louder, her hand tried to grip somthing warm and soft but despite her tries could not get a grip.
Not realizing where she had landed yet, Aura glanced up to see Allsion's face and slowly realized the warm soft thing she had been trying to grab, had been Allsion's upper leg, just beneath the hum of the lovely red head's dress. Aura's lips formed a pout which unknowingly to her looked more flity then she knew or understood.
Aura was enight of a girl to look down as she took her turn at the blushing game from utter embarresment. "I'm sorry...I...I well..im not...use to these shoes" she said for some reason she did not want to look directly at Allsion and in her flustered state it never occurred to her to remove herself from Allsion's lap.
Well if their was a threat out there, she guessed she could not get any closer to Allsion to keep her safe. It was then Aura realized she should probably move. Still embarrassed, she reached a free hand out toward Allsion's so she could get up and sit next to her and maybe not make a further idiot out of herself. She really hoped Allsion wouldn't get annoyed by her clumsy actions. She was a bit to panics to notice the pout on her lips as she looked up as her very lovely friend. Mentally, a million miles away she noted she should not have been this embarresed by the situation.
ooc -let me know if i did to much, or if u wnat me to change anything-
As much as Allison might claim to worship the Apple Gods, and believe in (if not worship) the Storm Gods among many others, she was far more certain in the ultimate rule of Irony and Murphy’s Law, which weren’t gods so much as forces of reality, and therefore far more powerful (and less able to be reasoned with) than any of the various gods. As a result, she really should have known better than to think anything even vaguely related to ‘what could possibly happen?’
The fallen bottle of champagne was unusual, but fairly innocent. Allison considered getting it, but that would have involved kneeling on the floor to avoid leaning over, and standing back up with heels on was always awkward for her. Before she could decide Aura stood up instead, and leaned over. Allison squeaked and blushed, pressing herself against the back of the seat and looking away. She had… not been expecting that. And the half-formed ideas that Aura might have been from a similarly wealthy family to Allison’s were severely beaten by Aura’s lack of knowledge of how dresses worked, unless she’d just left before she was old enough to be forced to go to anything formal, and before that had been rebellious enough to refuse to go? Of course if she’d left, that wouldn’t explain where the money had come from either….
And then Aura landed in Allison’s lap, the music became louder, Aura’s hand was on her leg, and by the time Allison looked back her face was red enough she was somewhat surprised she wasn’t dizzy from the missing blood. And Aura was pouting.
That… was surprising. Allison would not have been entirely sure Aura knew pouting existed, much less that she knew how to. Even Allison barely knew how to pout believably; such exact nuances as the flirty embarrassment that Aura had achieved was way beyond what she could reliably manage. Allison, instead, mostly managed to look shy, surprised and bright red. “Um. Hi. Are you okay?” Allison was too preoccupied with feeling awkward and shy to even notice her voice squeaking.
"I'm sorry... I... I well, I’m not... used to these shoes."
Aura’s stumbling apology didn’t really do anything to make Allison feel less awkward, but it was nice to know she wasn’t the only one unsure of what to do, or would be once she stopped feeling awkward enough to think of it. “It’s fine. I don’t like heels much either, they’re hard to walk in.”
"I am all right" She replied clearly embarrassed herself and extracting herself from Allsion's lap. So these car's were not like room's. She had assumed they moved, but had not considered the impact that might have on standing. It sounded like foolishness now in Aura's head and she could feel her own warm cheeks even as she stole a few glances at Allison beside her. Aura never notice the tiny flickers of her Aura that appeared and dissopeared like embers around her.
Aura tugged at her dress to get it to sit better on her leg's. The last one she had worn had been much longer. Aura smiled softly looking back over at Allsion, she had no idea what to say, but she couldn't help looking over her gorgeous friend again. Allsion really did have a lovely figure and Aura had an urge to reach out and run her fingers through her lovely red hair bit resisted, unsure if she should. Aura was unsure why she was nervous but did her best to ignore it she had to be alert.
"I bet this sorta thing happons to you a lot" she said unaware of how ambiguous her statement really was. Aura was referring to having someone protect allsion from all the danger that seemed to surround her. Either way Aura was determined to do well in the role and perhaps to do it again.
Aura also had noticed it had grown harder to take her mind off the angelic creature beside her.She did not understand the feeling. "it's hard not to think of you right now" she admitted hoping Allsion would understand it better then she did.
Aura reasoned it was ok to let her attention slip a bit until the actual danger got there. After all they were unlikely to get attacked in the car itself. Aura swept some of her hair from her face only now realizing her hair do had been mildly disrupted by her accidental fall, though due to the glory of hairspray had largely stayed in tact, not that Aura noticed a difference other then the occasional black locks of hair falling.
“That’s good.” Allison’s response was automatic, and she wasn’t quite aware of it until after she’d spoken. Most of her mind was occupied with Aura’s escape from her lap; trying to help but not knowing how, trying to avoid looking because that dress was short and Aura seemed not to know how dresses worked, and trying to watch to make sure Aura didn’t fall again. No experience with dresses, not used to limos… or maybe Aura had just left her family long enough ago to have forgotten? Or just hadn’t had money in the first place?
But then where did the limo and dresses and everything come from?
Aura managed to get off of Allison and onto the seat without falling again and Allison smiled back, brushing some of her hair back behind an ear. The champagne was forgotten, still on the floor.
“Um. Not really.” Not ever, actually. Allison was pretty certain no boy had ever fallen into her lap before, date or otherwise. Nor had any girls, for that matter. “It’s. Uh. New.” And confusing, and awkward, which really wasn’t Allison’s favorite thing ever, but wasn’t annoying her in this instance because Aura was just trying so hard, it was endearing. ‘Spend the evening basking in your presence’ suddenly seemed logical. She smiled again.
"It's hard not to think of you right now."
...Trying way too hard. Allison was still more amused than anything else, though. “That’s probably the idea, I think.”
"it is for me as well, even after these years in the city" she said prying her mind away from Allison. The forest even as false as it had been had still left an impression on her. They almost never wore anything other then ragged t-shirts and pants. The city however was full of various colors and styles that were for the most part lost on her. Aura had not bothered to try and keep up having assumed her lifespan would be short.
Aura glanced out the window and saw the part coming into view. Aura found herself a bit mystified by things like the roller coasters. It was her first time seeing such wonders in person "Hey look at that" she said as they began pulling into the park and Auras eyes wondered to the roller coaster again. Aura was able to get a true understanding of how large the park was. "I always wanted to visit a place like this" she said and she had. She just never figured she would be alive long enough for it to matter.
It was then as well a shelf opened itself, simply sliding away to reveal a box. The box had a note explaining the park and their power within it, to wait in no lines. as well as more casual clothing. It would ahve been clear to anyone but Aura that the limo was not going down the useual customer path, instead it was taking a special route that would let the limo park close. Aura considered the number of people in the park for a moment and silently vowed to herself not to hurt anyone.
