The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

Gina lingered behind Ami, perched on another chair. Rather than sitting in a typical fashion, she balanced on her feet, and was facing backwards, so as to use the backrest of the chair as an anchor. She half-watched Ami, and half-swung back-and-forth absently. First came Wikipedia. Yawn, blink-- nothing of use.
Then came the Discovery Channel. Gina smiled faintly, ceasing her absent rocking back-and-forth.
When Ami suggested Mythbusters, Gina smiled. Great minds thought alike.
>> "Okay. What do you think? Is it possible to trick a bloodhound's sense of smell?"
"I remember that one," Gina hummed faintly. Tenatively. It'd be hard for the two of them to get a hold of such a bloodhound, however. And it wouldn't be that interesting, Gina had to agree.
>> "Oh."
"What?" Gina inquired. That was the sort of "oh" that accompanied an epiphany, which instantly peaked Gina's interest.
"Mooses are pretty cool," she commented slowly, and innocuously. "Right?"
She'd heard a story from her brother about one of those. Apparently, it had given Jude a black eye. Which meant there were mooses in New York state. Mooses? Meeses? Whatever. And. These moose monsters kicked ass.
"I'm sure there's something fascinating we could do with a moose experiment." She concluded in the most scientific of tones.
"Well, maybe not an experiment..." Amelia reasoned. "But a study. That, we could do. In the forest, with research. Maybe a journal. Take a few pictures."
Maybe this was less an experiment and more a potential field trip, possibly? Oh well, field trips were fun, too.
"Someone I knew was recently attacked by a moose. I wonder if there's something in the wilds out there causing the moose population to go haywire?"

>> "Well, maybe not an experiment... But a study. That, we could do. In the forest, with research. Maybe a journal. Take a few pictures."
Sounded like a lot of work. Gina nodded slowly, making note of the "we" with a smile. Uh-oh, partner-in-crime, here I come. Gina almost asked how they were going to get to a forest with moose within it, but she held back. If there was a will, there was a way.
>> "Someone I knew was recently attacked by a moose. I wonder if there's something in the wilds out there causing the moose population to go haywire?"
"Wow, really?" Gina gasped, her eyes going wide, "Were they alright? I heard moose could be pretty brutal..."
Gina's inital aversion to the word "study" was replaced by intrigue. They wouldn't be "studying", this would be an adventure! With killer attack-moose, to boot!
"Yeah," she replied. "He only got a black eye. I think he was more spooked than anything. Him, and his girlfriend."
It was a funny story. She couldn't help but smirk about it. Nooooot that she kneeeew the fuuuull stooory or anything. Just the punchline.
Man, was she suddenly calling the entire thing a joke? Nope. That would be rude. She was just taking amusement from other peoples black eyes.
"I'm sure we'll be fine if we bump into a moose. What's the worst it can do? Headbutt us with its sharp and pointy antlers, and stomp us into the mud?"

>> "Yeah, he only got a black eye. I think he was more spooked than anything. Him, and his girlfriend."
"Well, I'm glad it was only a black eye," Gina murmured reverently, "I'm sure that they were totally freaked. I know that I would be."
Because Gina had heard that meese could be pretty violent if irked.
>> "I'm sure we'll be fine if we bump into a moose. What's the worst it can do? Headbutt us with its sharp and pointy antlers, and stomp us into the mud?"
Gina chuckled faintly, but her tone was rather matter-of-fact as she said, "Well, yeah."
At least Gina could fly to a more out-of-reach location. If a moose decided to trample Ami, what then?
Not to be a downer, though-- it sounded like fun. So, Gina admitted, "Sounds like an adventure."
"Hm, yeah." Amelia thought aloud. "I'll have to get back to you on that. If you wanted to help, with the meese project. I need to figure out where they live. And arrange a ride and stuff."
Really, this project seemed more like an outing. For exploration. And fun. Not a school project.
"In fact. Maybe we can just save it for a field trip, and do something else for the actual experiment. I'm not sure how long the meese thing would take."
It could go many ways, that meese thing. And the project was due sooner, rather than later.

As Ami mused about logistics, Gina listened intently, her tail twitching ever-so slightly. Yeah, adventures sounded like worlds of fun until one began discussing the logistics. Then, adventures just started sounding like work with a better pay-off.
"I'd be game," Gina agreed. For the meese hunt. Logistics, not so much. Gina didn't do logistics very well.

>> "Super. I still need a topic."
Gina hummed. Shoot. There was always that dilemma, wasn't there.
"How about..." Gina began to suggest. She wasn't any good at science, so thinking up a topic for a science project was a bit out of her league, "How about... I mean, people do field studies of animals, right? Like in biology? Would your teacher allow something like that?"
"You know what?" This was stupid. There was no use procrastinating an adventure. Amelia whipped out her phone.
She dialed. He answered.
"Hey, bro. Can you take a friend and me to the forest? Where?"
Click click. Amelia shouldered the cellphone while doing a quick computer search for information. After a few seconds, she gave him an answer.
The call continued. "Right now? No." Amelia spared a glance towards Gina. "Later. I'll call you back with more specifics. I need to hammer out the rest of the details. And yeah. It's for a school project." She smiled at Gina confidently. "Some sort of field study of mooses."
She could almost hear Aurum's eyeroll over the phone. But it was cool. It was for school. So she wrapped up the call and hung up.
"When's a good time for you...?" She asked, turning to the gray lady.

Gina watched Ami fished into her pocket and drew her cell phone, dialing briefly before holding it to her ear. Gina lingered nearby, kind-of listening, but politely attempting not to, while the other girl tried to talk her brother into chauffeuring them.
Gina exchanged glances with Ami, and grinned just as she did. Field study of mooses. If she'd said such a thing to Maxwell, or any of her brothers really, none of them would have agreed to it. It would've been, "Oh great, one of Ginas' harebrained schemes."
But, the outcome of the call seemed to have been a good one, judging by the inquiry out of Ami's mouth.
>> "When's a good time for you...?"
Gina was still wearing a grin. This was nigh-insanity, but it would be fun. A moose hunt!
"Weekends," Gina said with a nod, "Saturdays particularly."
She didn't specify too much. Anything could be rescheduled for such an outing.
