The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

>> "Now there is an idea…We could go rob one. Flood the whole building with bugs and then walk in and take the money…They would never catch us... oh wait. They would."
Agnes laughed. And not just a little laugh, she laughed hard! The idea that both she and Sveta would merge their diabolical powers to pull bank job after bank job just filled her with an unimaginable sense of humor. Imaging the both of them dressed up in some kind of black leather cat suits, riding down on zip wires and spying around with night vision goggles while insects ran amok inside the bank was just too funny of an image to not laugh at.
She giggled and snorted as she shook her head. She would beg Sveta to remove the image from her head if she could but she knew it was impossible.
So instead she just laughed it off.
>> "Still we could be famous. Two hot girls robbing a bank. Make front page and become popular."
Agnes snorted as her laughing finally began to calm down. Catching her breath and sighing, she shook her head as she glanced at her friend. Catsuit Sveta still made her giggle. But she shook her head at her friend’s last statement.
“Yeah, I think we both already got our taste of fame. It might better if we avoid that for the time being,” she said with a smirk, referencing to the last time they were out together and Agnes let her power loose on a museum full of patrons. She just grinned as she tossed a cheese puff at Sveta for no apparent reason other than to do so. “Goofball.”
Then…Sveta got that sly look…
>> "So... have you been dating anyone lately?"
Agnes paused…looked up at Sveta and raised her brows. She had to grin slightly, as if she had some secret that she had been holding onto this whole time. Meekly she nodded as she slightly blushed and looked away, taking another sip of her soda.
“Yeah,” she said quietly as she looked at Sveta out of the corner of her eye. “She and I have gone out a couple times. But that is all you get!” she said with a firm nod and pointed at her. “Your turn if you want more info,” she said with a wink. “What about you? Surely you must be beating someone off with a stick.”
>>“Yeah, I think we both already got our taste of fame. It might better if we avoid that for the time being. Goofball.”
Sveta agreed. The last thing she needed was fame. She wanted peace and quiet. And girl-friend time. This was fun, so far. She had not laughed so much for a long time.
Also. Not the conversation was getting interesting.
>>“Yeah. She and I have gone out a couple times. But that is all you get! Your turn if you want more info. What about you? Surely you must be beating someone off with a stick.”
"Well..." She was not exactly trying to beat him off. At all.
"... I kind of had an adventure. But it's weird." she admitted with a small smile "Yes, there is a guy. Your turn."

>> "Well... I kind of had an adventure. But it's weird. Yes, there is a guy "
Agnes perked up!
Sveta actually found something? That was just the best news! It had to be human guy. That was really the safest bet for her, right? Mutants, just being around her would make them all jittering and forget touching her. Agnes got a dose of that from their museum adventure. There was no way that she could be dating a mutant because a simply handshake from Sveta would completely throw that person’s powers out of whack.
But as she found herself completely trying to figure out who Sveta was dating and practically wanted to beg for more information, Sveta lowered the boom.
>> "... Your turn."
“D’awww! You can’t do that!” Agnes laughed and eyed Sveta closely.
How dare the woman feed her that tantalizing bit of information and not follow through with the rest of it! It made her want to grab another cheese puff and hurl it into the blonde Russian’s hair. But…Agnes resisted. She remembered the last time she got into a food fight. She could have sworn her hair still smelled of bananas. But when she saw that Sveta was not going to falter Agnes narrowed her eyes.
“Fine,” she smiled sweetly, maybe a little too sweetly. “You win. Her name is Jasmine. “ she said with nod. Then she opened her mouth as if she were going to say more but quickly closed it with a grin. “Your turn.”
Sveta just smiled. Oh yes she could. And she did. This was fun. Of course she was dying to hear more details about Agnes' date, just as much as Agnes looked excited about hers. So they could just keep playing, and eventually, find out every fun detail they wanted to know.
>>“Fine. You win. Her name is Jasmine. Your turn.”
Jasmine. That was a nice name. Sveta thought about it for a moment, but it didn't sound familiar. Probably not a Mansion students this time. Or she just spent too much time away from the Mansion...
"His name is Jude. And he is a mutant." she grinned back at her. Fun.
*italics are spoken in Russian* Thanks to Siren for the sig and avi!
Agnes smirked. She was beginning to like this game. Sveta seemed to be thinking over the name, as if she were trying to figure out who the person was. Not that she could blame her. Agnes would probably do the same the second that she heard whoever it was that Sveta was dating. But as she sat watching the sly Russian as she thought over the name, she had to smirk because this felt like some of the best fun she had had in a long time. Just simple girl-talk was always appreciated in her book.
It was only after a second that Sveta finally responded back..
>> "His name is Jude. And he is a mutant."
Agnes mouth dropped.
“A mutant? No waaay,” she exclaimed as she grinned at her. “but…Sveta…how? I can’t even shake your hand without, you know, an effect.”
Agnes’ mind raced as she tried to wrap around the idea. She never would have thought that Sveta would have dated another mutant because of her powers. The last thing she and Agnes so much as touched hands there was a complete meltdown of her powers and she had thousands of insects under her control. How could she date another mutant? But Agnes realized that she was getting far too ahead of herself. She needed to let her friend explain.
She waited for a response but realized that their game was still going on. She smirked as she shook her head.
“Jasmine is human. Her sister comes here, though,” she then nodded. “Now explain,” she said referencing to her dating a mutant named Jude.
>>“A mutant? No waaay, but…Sveta…how? I can’t even shake your hand without, you know, an effect.”
She just smiled and shook her head. It was too much to explain at once. Not without Agnes having her turn, anyway. That was how the game worked, after all. She was right. Dating a mutant was insane. But it was not liek she had been planning on it...
>>“Jasmine is human. Her sister comes here, though,” she then nodded. “Now explain,”
Sveta smiled. Human. That was nice, and not complicated. Also, if she had a mutant sister, she would be nice to mutants. That was always a plus. Also. Now she had to explain...
"Well, he... kind of got his power from me." she admitted, biting her lip, trying to figure out how to make it simple. It was not simple. "He was human, and I kissed him, um, on the forehead, and turns out he was a mutant after all... he's a mimic." she smiled a bit "He copies other people's powers. And when he copies mine, it goes boom, and the whole city is awake..."
If Agnes remembered the city-wide coffee shot from July: not it made much more sense...
*italics are spoken in Russian* Thanks to Siren for the sig and avi!
Agnes waited as Muse took in the last bit of information. Jasmine was really such a sweet and loveable person that the runaway would not wait to talk about. But she needed to know this about Sveta first. She was dating a mutant? She still had to wrap her mind around that revelation. Hopefully with that tidbit that Agnes threw out there, her friend would bite and spill the beans.
And boy did she…
>> "Well, he... kind of got his power from me…He was human, and I kissed him, um, on the forehead, and turns out he was a mutant after all... he's a mimic…He copies other people's powers. And when he copies mine, it goes boom, and the whole city is awake..."
Agnes blinked. “That…That was you an him?”
She remembered that day all too well. She remembered the sudden jittery sensation that had overcome her and she believed that it was nothing more than a mini sugar rush or something. She noted that a couple of other students had felt it as well but…they could never find the source. Was that really Muse and this other guy? By copying their powers and locking lips did they just pretty much pour an entire cup of coffee down the gullet of New York City?
“Wow…” Agnes said with a deep sigh and shake of her head. She looked up at Sveta again before she just snorted with a life. “He must be one hell of a kisser.” she just cracked a grin before she continued. “But seriously, where did guys meet? Does he make you happy? Have you guys, you know, kissed again? Cause I haven’t felt anything like I did that day…”
>> “That…That was you an him? Wow… He must be one hell of a kisser.”
Sveta grinned, and blushed. She did not kiss Jude that day. He was still a kid. Physically, anyway. He did not even need to kiss her to blow up the city with caffeine...
>>“But seriously, where did guys meet? Does he make you happy? Have you guys, you know, kissed again? Cause I haven’t felt anything like I did that day…”
Well, the game was done. She just had too many questions. And there was really not an easy answer to anything.
"Okay, this is going to sound weird." she sighed, looking at Agnes "I mean, really weird. And I haven't told anyone..." she was still blushing, thinking about where to start for a moment before she gave up "We have been living in the same apartment. He... well, he was a boy. Twelve years old. He has been grown up once, and then he went back to being a kid. Mutant stuff. And he was adopted by the people I was living with."
Now, this just sounded bad.
"So one day, I kissed him on the forehead. And he got powers, and ran away, and then one day months later he shows up, and the is all grown up. Like, older than me. It was weird."
'Weird' being the word of the day.
*italics are spoken in Russian* Thanks to Siren for the sig and avi!
Agnes waited, sitting back against Gina’s bed as she watched for Sveta to answer her questions. She serious wanted to know which was why she inadvertently abandoned their little question game. Sometimes the need to know answer just trumped every other kind of rule. She hated thinking like that, because she was having so much fun and she really did not want Sveta to feel like she was pushing her. If her friend wanted to take her time reveal details about her new boyfriend, then she should let her.
But just as the runaway about to open her mouth and apologize, she had to pause because Sveta decided to put all her cards down on the table.
>> "Okay, this is going to sound weird…I mean, really weird. And I haven't told anyone..."
“Oh! How exciting,” she interjected with a small gasp and grin.
>> "We have been living in the same apartment. He... well, he was a boy. Twelve years old. He has been grown up once, and then he went back to being a kid. Mutant stuff. And he was adopted by the people I was living with."
Agnes eyebrow…went up.
>> "So one day, I kissed him on the forehead. And he got powers, and ran away, and then one day months later he shows up, and the is all grown up. Like, older than me. It was weird."
She took a breath as she heard all this. It was like listening to a sci-fi/melodramatic/soap opera all rolled into one. She lived with this kid, who used to be a man, and was made into a man again because of his mutation? Agnes was just floored by the concept and could swear that part of her brain wanted to pop into a bloodied mess in the back of her skull.
Her eyes narrowed as she tried to comprehend, wincing as she rubbed the hair at the back of her head.
“Oh…woooow, Sveta…” she shook her head as she seriously tried to understand what was going on. But looking at her face, she could see that she was really happy about it, so she had to smirk. “Sveta…that…that is just a…a…I mean wow!” she exclaimed. “He…makes you happy…right?”
In Agnes’ book, that was really all that mattered. So long as she was happy then it did not matter how this man came to be.
>>“Oh…woooow, Sveta… Sveta…that…that is just a…a…I mean wow! He…makes you happy…right?”
Agnes was stunned. Totally floored. Sveta didn't blame her. It was a lot to wrap her mind around. A lot. She was still in the process herself.
"He does..." she nodded, blushing slightly "I mean, it was hard for me to understand too. It took time to get used to... it's just... I was very confused. When he came back, I didn't even recognized him. He could have just lied..."
But he didn't. He told the truth. Eventually.
"Um, well. There is more. The reason you didn't feel another boom was... we went out of the city. Into the woods. We were going to practice with my powers, because I want to learn how to control them. So I could touch people without boosting them. He had a power we could practice with, but... well. He needed a kiss to activate it. And then things just... umm. Went from there."
All the way. The blush kind of said that much.
"Please don't judge me."
*italics are spoken in Russian* Thanks to Siren for the sig and avi!
>> "He does...I mean, it was hard for me to understand too. It took time to get used to... it's just... I was very confused. When he came back, I didn't even recognized him. He could have just lied..."
Agnes nodded. That was right. Whoever this guy was could have been just a person pretending to be him. But something in Sveta’s voice seemed to show that she whole-heartedly believed that this man was the boy with whom she had been living with. The thought did make her suspicious because she really had a mistrust of most people. This man could have been anyone…but Sveta didn’t believe that.
She sighed lightly. So long as Sveta was sure he was who he said, then she would be convinced as well…
>> "Um, well. There is more. The reason you didn't feel another boom was... we went out of the city. Into the woods. We were going to practice with my powers, because I want to learn how to control them. So I could touch people without boosting them. He had a power we could practice with, but... well. He needed a kiss to activate it. And then things just... umm. Went from there.”
A breath of air was sucked in…and it never came out. Agnes sat there, just trying to be the impartial listener, as if she were an audience member listening to the dialogue of a play. She didn’t want to interrupt Sveta, she wanted to listen. And…boy did she get an ear full.
Her mouth a gap, she really had no idea how to continue the chat when Sveta suddenly pleaded with the young runaway.
>> "Please don't judge me."
Agnes’ expression turned into a small, sad smile as she crept closer on her knees, but obviously didn’t reach out to hug her. As much as Agnes wanted to, she knew it was impossible, unless, of course, Sveta had learned to control her abilities as she had said she was practicing. But Agnes didn’t believe she could get that close to touching people yet.
So, instead she leaned over to look her friend in the eyes with a wide smile. There was no judgment in her eyes or disappointment. Just the happiness of an understanding friend.
“Sveta, I don’t judge you,” she said with a smile. “Lord knows, stranger things have happened. Like I said, so long as you’re happy, I’m happy for you! And I mean that.”
She could feel her cheeks burning. It was strange. She never felt like that before. Back when she used to get into those kind of situations, she didn't really have friends to share them with, and no one she cared enough about to judge her, besides Bo, but Bo was too small to know. And now that she had been living here in her reformed decent woman form, she suddenly felt like a girl. Damn.
>>“Sveta, I don’t judge you. Lord knows, stranger things have happened. Like I said, so long as you’re happy, I’m happy for you! And I mean that.”
She looked up to see Agnes smiling. It was a nice, friendly smile. Honest. She really was not judging her. Sveta smiled back.
"I am happy." she was sure about that "It is a mess and I don't even know how it is going to work. I did not plan... none of it. But I don't regret it. Well. I regret when he got trampled by a deer, but not the rest" she giggled "Your turn."
*italics are spoken in Russian* Thanks to Siren for the sig and avi!
Agnes was sincere and honest and all of it showed on her face. Sveta was able to see this and it made her happy. She was glad that Sveta could see that she was not judging her. She loved the little blonde Russian too much to hurt her feelings. She wasn’t going to judge or appear disappointed, so long as Sveta was happy. That was not to say that Agnes didn’t think the whole situation was slightly…odd. But who was she to make comments like that? She was a bug infested teenager that had insects coming out of her mouth, and yet she still was dating a lovely human.
The world was a funny place and the funnier things helped it to keep on turning.
>> "I am happy. It is a mess and I don't even know how it is going to work. I did not plan... none of it. But I don't regret it. Well. I regret when he got trampled by a deer, but not the rest…Your turn."
“A deer? Agnes smirked and giggled in response.
Sveta really did seem happy and the runaway could only be thankful for that. She could only imagine how hard it was for Sveta, given her powers, to want to get close to people. And yet here she dived into that possibility and found someone whom she really could care about and cared for her in return. The surprises of romance…
Then the question turned back on her. Agnes grinned and blushed as she well as she once again picked up her soda and took a sip.
A glance to Sveta and she tried to hid her smile.
“She’s…exceptionally sweet. My roommate, Gina,” she said motioning to the bed “Set me up with her. It was a blind date. I was terrified but…it work out extremely well,” she said with a coy little smile. “I like her…a lot…” She then smirked as she nodded to the table near her bed. “There’s a picture of her and me there. We just went out and there was his photobooth there. She practically dragged me in,” she said with a laugh.
>>“She’s…exceptionally sweet. My roommate, Gina, Set me up with her. It was a blind date. I was terrified but…it work out extremely well, I like her…a lot… There’s a picture of her and me there. We just went out and there was his photobooth there. She practically dragged me in,”
Sveta got to her knees to look up at the picture on the table. She nodded with a smile.
"She is cute" she admitted. And they looked good together. Happy. The way people are supposed to look. Normal people, who are happy to be together.
"So, who is she? What does she do?"
It was her time to ask questions. Since Agnes was so awesome at listening to her little story, now she wante to know more about Agnes'. Because they still had a lot to talk about. And they still had ice-cream to eat.
*italics are spoken in Russian* Thanks to Siren for the sig and avi!
Agnes sat back on her heels as she watched Sveta lean up to take a look at the photograph that she had on her table. It was the only one so far that she had of Jasmine and the thought made her grin. She really did like the girl a lot and she hoped that one photo would lead to more. With Rhythm she was lucky if she had the one picture that she tore up after their breakup. But Jasmine, she seemed to be on a completely different level. And that was a thought that could only make her smile all the more.
She couldn’t wait to see where this was going to go.
But quietly she smiled as Sveta looked over the photograph and smiled to herself before she turned to address Agnes again…
>> "She is cute…So, who is she? What does she do?"
Agnes smirked. It was only fair that Sveta have her questions. After all, Agnes had bombarded her with some after she found out that Sveta was dating a mutant. So she nodded as she sat back, getting comfortable to tell her story.
“Well, like I said, her name is Jasmine…” then she paused to sigh, “And don’t make fun of her name, because I already joke her about it, her full name is Jasmine…Honey Blossom…” she paused and waited for Sveta to laugh or not laugh before she went on. “We actually met once before, out on the grounds, before Gina set me up with her on our blind date. She had uh, knocked me on the head with a soccer ball.” she smirked and giggled at that memory. “But, you know, her sister goes here so she visits all the time. She actually goes to Kingsbridge Academy High School and plans to take up Botany at the college when she graduates. She has an affinity for plants.”
She smiled, blushed a little and munched on the last of the chips she had set aside for her. Their first date was still on her mind…and especially that first kiss. She smirked as she looked up to Sveta, trying to hide the crimson on her far too pale cheeks.
