The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

"Almost like that" he smirked, helpign her notch the arrow and arrange it on the bow "There." he nodded, once the arrow was resting on her hand "Just make sure it does not slide off your hand before you let the string go. Now. Pull."
There was really nothing else to explain. She'd just have to try.
The bow was designed for strength; it was not the one he planned on using for missions, but it was strong enough to make his arms grow stronger as he practiced. Ami couldn't pull it all the way out, but she did a good enough job to make a straight shot. he hands were going to hurt soon; but she was not the kind of girl who would complain...
Only beginner's luck? That had deserved at the very least a 'good job' kiss. Oh, but she was trying to keep her mind on this task. Right. Right.
Again, she hauled out an arrow and pulled the shaft and string back. She focused, squinting at the target in the distance.
The tension was there. It was hard, pulling it back. She was not in the habit of lifting weights. She got the feeling she'd need to buff up to own like Gawain did.
Amelia released. The arrow streaked across the danger room, towards the target. Well... towards a spot on the wall, a few inches left of it. At least.
Now would have been a good time to develop arrow manipulation powers. However those worked.
"Not bad" Gawain chuckled, kissing her behind the ear from where he stood "Don't aim. Look at the target before you lift the bow. Once you lift it, just pull and release. The longer you hold it, the more your hands shake, and the arrows will go all over the place."
Yes, hands shake. Even his/hers did, during practice. That was a strong bow.
"Don't overdo it either. When you get tired we'll take a break." he added with a smile
She tilted her head into the kiss, grinning. Oh, fine. She could give up on the whole weak argument of this arrangement making learning nearly impossible. It was a weak arrangement. And took half the fun out of trying.
"Okay," Amelia said. She brought the bow up, looked at the target, and took another shot. Drew another arrow, took another. This time, she hit the target again.
Amelia kept going until her arms were really tired and she felt like she was ready to drop. She lowered the bow and let it rest against the side of her leg as she let out an exhausted sigh.
"Okay. I think that's enough training for today... how does it do the 'something from nothing' trick, anyways." That was killer. And... she was too exhausted to throw question marks onto the ends of sentences.
They needed to figure out something to do while her arms regained movement ability.
