The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

Skadi listened to Timid's attept to speak then his offer then watched Proxy's acrobatics. For a moment wished she could do that also. But pushing away the thought, and accepting her own mutation, she turned her head back to the remaining members of the group and spoke. "I will join you as well." she said, her voice cold, just like her body, just like her personality.
The mirror chick, witch Mim should know her name by now. Man. Maybe it was the not able to speak so you didn’t have to remember names thing. He was never really good at the hole memorization thing that way. Still he smirked when she became a mirror version of him.
"Methinks 'tis time for a feedin', if a gathering reason we're still a'needin'."
He gave a lopsided grin to the liquid mirror version of himself. Suddenly his eyes settled on the reflection of his mouth on Mira. Was that something in his teeth? He tried to act cool, turning his head and using his thumb nail to dislodge what ever it was.
Real smooth!
Mean while the conversation had gone on. More people were enlisting them selves on their quest for food, and as that stubborn peace of what ever came loose from his teeth, Mim’s stomach sounded again as well. Louder this time, as if to say me too where his mouth couldn’t.
Timid however had caught hi attention. He’d join them? Cool! Mim pushed away from his place on the wall, making his way to Timid after Proxy, and throwing an arm around his shoulders to catch him. Giving his a thumbs up in the other hand and a, fresh, clean lopsided grin.

"I know, I know... Food supply, yes. I had Red Queen covered that for me and our supplies should be reimbursed within a couple of days. Don't you just love it when you don't have to do everything yourself?" He gave the whole band of mutants a cheery smile.
"As for robbing a grocery store, I normally wouldn't allow it but with things happening as they are..."His words trailed off as he stared at the surfacers. The message was clear: STAY. "I'll join in this time. It was nice to be young... As for the other elders, they should have received the message from White Queen by now."
He stretched a bit as he shrugged off the feeling of rustiness of in his body. "These bones haven't exercised for a bit long... But a simple stroll should suffice. This would be a good experience for Timid too."

(OOC: Sorry, forgot about this thread for awhile. )
Mira didn't share the others' enthusiasm about Timid's offer to join, but only because his mutation, like Skadi's, could present her with issues if she was too close when it activated. He seemed to be a nice kid, if a bit shy. But Mira didn't play well with extreme heat or cold.
Still, she returned Mim's thumb's up with a shiny grin.
"Well lets get to that feedin. Thought we could eat while we were in the store. Well, I would say we should stick to canned goods because it might take a while to get back, but if you are in to Skadi we hardly need to worry about temperature until we can get it to the freezers. I think this might be a pretty darned effective team, though, next time we should hit a mall or something more trivial just for the heck of it.
Mira snorted. "The mall may not be pleasant, what with the Stalkers being present."
The robots didn't bother her much, as she had managed to evade capture several times already. She wasn't a gambler though, and didn't want to press her luck.
The doc offered to come along, and she scrunched up her nose. Hopefully he wouldn't be a spoilsport.
"Shall we beat feet then?" With that she dissolved her shape into her usual blob, and slid along the ground toward the nearest exit. Partway down the way, she paused to see if anyone was following.
As some of the mutants slowly started to mobilize to go up to get some food, a big black hole came up behind them. He had been ignored before when he had tried to talk to one of them as being one of the "surface dwellers", but he wasn't above trying again. Not nearly. He just had to find somebody who wouldn't dismiss him, right? And things were looking up here - he was rejected because he was new, not because of his power. That had to be worth something, right?
"Hey," he said in the general direction of the gesture-happy kid and the gray girl. "Mind if I come along? I guarantee you I won't get y'all caught if we go out at night."
He trudged along, trying not to get close enough to blind them. It was a tricky thing, though - even after three months of being a big black hole he hadn't quite figured out where his edges were.

"Hey, mind if I come along? I guarantee you I won't get y'all caught if we go out at night."
The shiny blob of glass morphed a head that smiled at the darkness that was another mutant. She could appreciate the lack of form more than most. It would be nice to have another along that shared a similar 'issue'. She morphed a fist that again, literally, mirrored Mim's earlier thumb's up.
She continued on down the tunnel until she reached a manhole to the surface. She slid up the ladder, and squeezed just enough of herself through the cracks to check the surroundings. This one led to Central Park. If she had her bearings right, a corner minimart would be to the south. She slid back into the tunnel, moved further on to the next manhole, up the ladder, and so on. She repeated the process until her spyings scoped out the corner store.
There was silence. Uncomfortable, boring silence. So he tried to fill it. "So, uh, where are we going, exactly? I don't really know yet what there is around here, but maybe I can help. ...I can see up to the shops up there from here, I mean. If you tell me what we're looking for I can tell you what's up there."
He scooted forward to get closer, forgetting once again that getting too close would blind his companions and piss them off.
"I'm Blindspot, by the way."
He had good feelings about this, especially about the mirror girl and the happy-seeming boy (?) with dreadlocks and the talkative gray girl. Somebody here would be his friend. He had gotten too many weird reactions in the last months. Maybe it was a good thing for him to be in the sewers - it was a lot harder to notice how dark he made it when there wasn't much light in the first place, right? Or maybe it was the other way around...
