The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

Arriving in NYC [Baddie recruiter(s) very welcome]
"Nice to meet you, too, Overcast." She smiled. "Now, do you want to see this Sanctuary place? This coffee is annoying me. I want some real energy." She nodded to her cigarette. "You want one?" She asked, offering another one from her pack.
Ah, she needed a cigarette quite badly. If she didn't have one soon, she was bound to send a thorn flying into a passer-by's throat. So, basically, she needed a cigarette, and she needed one badly.
"Nah, I'll leave you to it," Overcast replied, declining tactfully. "But I wouldn't mine seeing this 'Sanctuary', as you call it. Best to check out the insides of a good car before deeming it worthy of purchase," she said, that smirk of a half-smile assuming its place once more. She got up and left a five on the table for the drink, it was way more than the drink cost, and definitely a high tip for what would be left once the purchase was subtracted from it, but she was in a good mood right now, the waiter could keep the change if it was a fifty for all she cared.
"Very well, then if you would please just follow me." She nodded before standing up and walking out of the shop. She saw the tip and raised an eyebrow, yet never brought her question to words, so it lingered in the back of her mind, accompanied by her thought of her cigarette and another shot.
As soon as they had left the shop, she put the cigarette in her mouth, lit it and inhaled the sweet smoke. Then she turned and pulled out her flask of vodka before taking about a half a shot. She shook her head, opened her eyes real wide, and allowed the nicotine and alcohol to cleanse her tension.
"It's just down the block." She smirked, feeling better all ready. She placed her addictions back...where ever she kept them and moved foward, continuing to smoke as she walked.
Overcast glanced over at her motorcycle. "Do you think it's alright to leave my bike here? or should we take it over there?" She wasn't so much unsure as she was aware of the fact that she didn't know the unwritten rules of New York City, and she figured Thorn did.
