The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

Jorge
>> "If he's a partial shifter, his face might not be a lion's face for every hour in the day. We should see if one of our sketch artists or computer techs can get a better description from the snake-haired woman, or grab any video data off any nearby surveillance cameras. Hopefully, there will be cameras. Our sketch artists or computer people might be able to do a reconstruction to see what he'd look like with more human features. If we haven't already, we should get a BOLO out on this guy."
Sketch artists, Jorge thought to himself. He knew that it was going to be important to have them talk with Andrea. But he didn’t know how good it would be.
Andrea had told him back at the hospital that she never saw the human face of her attacker, or at least she didn’t remember. All she could recall were the angry roars and the feral, hungry looking eyes of that madman that had attempted to kill her. Even as Jorge spoke to her, he could see how visibly shaken up she was. She was not going to be able to let that image go for a very, very long time. But could she get past that and remember something about her attacker’s real face? Was it possible? Jorge would have to think on this later…
>> ”This place is messing with my chakra. It’s too early for Mars to be in close enough transit to make this a crime of passion.”[/i]
Eyebrow arched, the detective slowly turned and eyed the redhead closely. He was not sure if he heard that right…or…what he heard at all exactly. Unfortunately he really didn’t have the mind to process it right now. Besides, it seemed more as if the woman were talking to herself more than anyone. Still though…that was odd…
>> ”Want me to get on the BOLO? I want to make sure our guys know what they might be going up against if they run into this punk.”
Jorge nodded. He then turned and addressed the young intern. “Do it.”
He sighed as he turned back around and surveyed the scene. It was a big city and there were a lot of people who could get hurt. The it was in the best interest for all if every precinct was on the lookout this psychopath. After all…how many Lion Men could there be in a single city?

Chakra. Mars. Gibberish. It wasn't just Cervantes that eyed the redhead. Ashton didn't understand a word of it. Not one to be rude to woman (and Archer was a woman, despite any protest she might give to the contrary while wearing a badge), he didn't say anything. Hell. If he had parsed any message out of the nonsense she'd spouted, it was that the crime was messing with her mental Feng shui.
What the hell was Feng shui?
Ashton ignored further questions Archer's comments had brought up in his mind. She'd offered to get to work doing something useful. That made up for the gobbledygook. Barely.
Ashton turned to address Cervantes. "Do you think your friend will need someone at her hospital, in case the killer tries to finish the job?" That was a brutal way of saying it. What he really meant was 'is there anything I can do to help, pal?'

And…they were both staring at her. Had she said all of that out loud? Had it been loud enough for them to hear? Suddenly, Quin could feel her cheeks pinking up and a number of excuses bubbling their way to the surface. She clamped her jaws shut though, and nodded her head to Cervantes’ confirmation of her desire to put out a BOLO.
Ashton hadn’t said anything, but Quin knew how he’d probably react to all of her strange superstitions. Damn her for thinking out loud!
Out of sight, out of mind, right? As Ashton spoke about putting someone outside the girl’s door at the hospital, Quin slunk off to work on putting out the BOLO on the guy who was responsible for all this mess. At least she’d be good for something tonight.
