The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

"you don't have to kill Sister, we all serve our people as best we think we can. Those fools at the mansion maybe naive, but when our people take their rightful place it may be minds like that we need and like your own. People Like me know only combat and bloodhsed, in a world without anything to fight, i would be lost" she admitted. She had for some time realized as much as she ahted the humans she needed them to have a reason to exists.
She understood Ambers reluctance to kill. It was an option she never really had until long after killing had become common to her. "it is important remember that nature gave us the gifts it thought we could use best. It would not have given us that which was useless or without reason. "Helping others is a noble endeavor and i can understand your reluctance to kill and i hope your path allowes you never to have to make that choice." she said hoping her sister really would not need to.
"Good, do well on this mission i will recommend you to our Leader to become a member. SHe might even wnat to see if you can't put a leash on me" she said with a grin. It was a joke it had been some time since Aura had been on the news, at least four months. "We go when your ready, Sister after the sun goes down for both our sakes" She said making her way across her room. "U said somthing about a dagger right?" she asked pulling out first a box with a number of rats incide, her put skunk, Solkat which she still figured was a type of cat, and finnaly a small box with at least a dozen daggers in it, some still had dried blood on them and some were half broke. "it's amazing what a gnag member or two carry, i got pistols to if you like. I am no good with the things" she said shaking her head.
Amber was relieved to find that there were things she could do to help The Order out without having to actually kill. It felt like a new sense of purpose to her life, something she could do and actually feel good about it. "I'll make you proud," Amber assured her sister. This wasn't only a fight to help herself and her family, it was a fight to help the mutant family as a whole.
"Maybe I c-could help you too, Aura. I could help teach you things about the world, things outside of c-combat. There's more to life than battle and death." It was sad to think of her sister knowing only violence and loss, one of the saddest things she could imagine. As awful as parts of her own life had been, Amber had never really known much death and she still had happy moments in her life. Where to even start with teaching her sister, she wasn't quite sure, but suddenly it seemed very important.
Amber followed her sister to the drawer indicated, looking and what was in there and deciding that she wasn't going to pay any attention to the blood on many of the knives. Nor was she going to ask where it came from, the details of such were things she didn't want to know. She picked up one of the smaller knives, a little switchblade easily concealed in her robes, before nodding at her sister. "I'm n-not sure I should take the gun. When I shift sometimes things get lost." Because things did not shift with her and guns seemed like the type of thing that might draw unwanted attention and might be easily stolen.
"W-we need to go one state down to New Jersy, that's where the scientists are. C-can you drive us down there?" It would be nice if Amber could simply fly the both of them, but Aura was for to large to carry, especially any real distance, while in the air.
"I am sure you will Sister" She said having confidence in Amber. Though Amber was afraid to kill, Aura figured as it had with her this would fade and the issue would be solved. She was confident the humans would do something foolish enough to invoke her. For now however she would not force it, after all secret groups had a habit of not wnating police intervention which meant she could play. It had been so long since she had been able to simply fight and kill. The thought of the last human massacre she had helped in reminded her of Meld, her heart sank just a bit at the thought of her lost friend.
"You are right, their is far more to life then the dance" Her wand waived to the room around them. "That is why i was taught to craft furniture however........You are right though learning more of this place would help a lot.." SHe said with a sigh, shaking her head. "In the forest life was so much simpler. You woke, you ate you trained and every few days fought off some Humans went to sleep and began the cycle over.......But it just does not work like that here" She said of the cycle, her Sister was right maybe it was time for her to expand. "Im sure their is much we learn from each other" she said.
"Last time i drove, Me and the red guy ended up in some lady's pool. If nothing else im sure we can get Sanctuary staff to drive us or find someone here that does not mind a bit of fun" She said the idea she might get to open up on this mission had her excited. "I must admit despite thoughts of more normal hobbies, i really do love a good dance" She said, reminding herself a moment later they were going because her sister had been abducted.
"She bent down as she saw Solkat walk out from under the bed looking rather hungrily at the box with the feeder mice. Aura instead cut a small piece from the lynx meat and set it before the Skunk. The Skunk nibbled at it and quickly went back to looking at the box. Aura Opened it grabbed a mouse and set it on the floor and let the Skunk chase it, even as she cut the rest of the meet into thinner slives, useing her Aura saw as a kind of meat slicer. "You wnat some?" she offerd Amber a plate.
It felt good that Aura actually had some confidence in Amber's abilities. For her own part, she was more than a little afraid of the confrontation to come, but she'd be damned if she was going to show it to her incredibly competent sister. Fear served the purpose of encouraging caution but too much fear could completely immobilize a person. She was determined only to allow enough fear to promote a little caution and no more than that. If she was going to help and if she was no longer going to be a victim, that meant fear could no longer control her every action. The fear would be conquered.
"Its different here," Amber agreed, trying to image the kind of life that her sister described. "I th-think you should come with me on a little trip I'm planning. There will b-be a few mutants and we're going camping. I think it would be good for you." She wasn't sure how well Aura would get along with Agnes or Andrew, but she was sure that it would be a good idea. It was the perfect opportunity to expand her sister's horizons a little and because they would be camping in a forest, it wouldn't' be too far off from the life she was used to. As long as there were no humans involved, there wouldn't be too much of a risk of violence. Hopefully.
"Sanctuary staff driver it is then," Amber agreed with a grin. Pools just didn't seem to be the right place to end up when it came to going after evil scientists. Somehow she thought that might be just a little counterproductive.
Amber accepted the piece of lynx Aura offered her and, after blowing on it a minute to make sure it wouldn't be too hot, stuck it in her mouth. "Its good." Maybe just a touch on the burnt side, but not bad at all. "How about I c-catch us a wolf sometime? I'm sure that'd be a challenge and I bet it'd taste pretty good." Fighting she might not have done much, but she was becomming quite the skilled hunter. In fact, it was fast becoming her favourite past time. All she needed now was a slightly larger predator form so she could go after some really big prey. Like maybe a bear.
