The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

An…extra five minutes? Shin couldn’t have an extra five minutes. They were there! Kealey opened her mouth to tell him exactly that and promptly shut it at the peaceful look on his face. Instead she sighed. There were lots of people getting on and off the train…they could probably wait a moment before getting their things. People were so irritating though…why did they have to crowd the way they were? Her anger swung a little bit, why couldn’t Shin just get up and go? Now they had to sit on the train and wait for everyone else to get off the train? What if the train left without them getting off? It made no sense, and it was frustrating.
Shouting ensued before Kealey could say anything, and after a moment she was glad for the interruption. There was so much going on she’d almost let her powers run away with her. Now she was angry with the couple. What could they possibly have to argue about that was intense enough that they needed to handle it in public like this. The blond barely heard the words, she didn’t understand any of them and the emotions gave a much clearer picture of the situation.
There was too much going on for Kealey to feel bad for the couple and their troubles, instead she just stared and wondered what had caused the conglomeration of jealousy, anger, and general hurt feelings. She frowned as she stared at the two, then glanced at Shin, glad that they never made a scene like that. It was hard to ignore the feelings, they were very intense and Kealey wanted to let instinct take over and be angry…she reminded herself that this was the start of her trip with Shin though…that they were in Japan. They were going to do so many things together! It helped, then Shin spoke and Kealey’s attention swung in his direction…she hadn’t even noticed he was awake again.
She shook her head, ”I wonder what could be that bad?” she said quietly and distractedly, her hand looking for Shin’s as she watched, ”I almost got mad at you before I realized what was happening.” she looked for another moment, then pulled her eyes from the arguing couple, ”Let’s never do that.” she said, then, ”Let’s go somewhere else.” all those bad feelings were raining on her parade, and eventually someone was bound to notice the staring blond.

Shin nodded. "Yeah." They could all do with a little less arguing right now, and a little more massive crowd movement, causing general uneasiness of stomach and dizziness of head.
Urp.
"You'd better keep a hold on my hand, Kealey." Shin said, wide-eyed. "It just might be a bit more busy than I'd initially suspected. First." He picked up their carry-on luggage from where he'd stashed it. Shin offered Kealey her bag, then held onto his own. Shin looked over his shoulder, at the rapidly emptying train car.
Yup.
It did make him a little lightheaded. Maybe the flight had affected him more than he'd thought?
Shin stuck his hand out, somehow managing both the luggage, and the act of offering Kealey something to hold onto. Together, they haphazardly made their way out of the train, into the station in the city.
The city. It was big as he'd remembered it, majestic, all the nouns and adjectives you could think of under the sun present and happening. They needed to find a shuttle to a hotel, or some means of getting there. They needed to find a hotel. He'd have to do these things.
Boldly, Shin led Kealey on to inquire about such things. He stopped them by a counter, and asked some questions in a language Kealey didn't speak. If she'd paid attention, she might have caught some basics. A tired-sounding question of cost, some numbers, words that spoke of directions, right-hand turn, left-hand. Which way it was to the shuttle. A couple of minutes later, Shin turned back to Kealey, smiling tiredly at her. "This way," He said. And led.
They found the ride. They hit the hotel. Shin made reservations. All the while, both of them were distracted, minds wandering. The city was a little busy. Their heads were busy. Everything hummed like a beehive. Droning motion, wings buzzing... he turned back to Kealey as someone carted their baggage off to their room. Shin smiled. At least he had his honey.
