The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

Whoa. That was a lot of information to process. The situation Chris had gotten himself into, and all the allegations. All the fact-checking. The deep digging.
Shin didn't think he could ever be a detective. It was simply too hard.
Even after hearing what Chris had gone through, he didn't think any less of him. Situations got hairy. Stuff happened. It happens to the best of people.
The name 'Anthony' was familiar... but, then it was very common. And Meld? He vaguely remembered at some point meeting someone named something similar to that, but... nope. He couldn't place a face to a name, or recall exactly when.
He got lost in his thoughts. When the detective turned his attention back to him, Shin shook his head dumbly. He was at a loss for words.
Chris left his number and address to one of the detectives assistants. The detective had turned his attention toward the grocery store - there were a lot of other witnesses left to question. Chris still was intimidated by the big, short-spoken man, but he sympathized with him - it looked as if this would be a long night for all involved.
The detective turned back to Shin. "Shinbo. Can you make sure mr Berg gets home safely? Do you have a car?" Chris felt grateful. He wasn't sure he'd have been able to walk back to the mansion himself - he felt completely drained after the exhausting questioning. Besides, that junkie was still out there somewhere... and it would just have been Chris's luck if he somehow managed to walk into the alley where the junkie were hiding.

"Yeah," Shin blinked at the detective. "I can get him home." Although he didn't have a car. And the detective should have known that. He'd driven him to the scene of the crime, after all.
Shin turned to Chris, smiling weakly. "Heh. Heh." He laughed mechanically. "I hope you like flying." Because that was the number one mode of transportation he could manage.
The detective arched an eyebrow and eyed him, but paid the mutant no mind. There was an investigation to maintain, and frankly, stuff to do!
"Flying? What do you... oh." Chris hadn't witnessed that special ability, but you don''t live under the same roof for long without hearing a thing or two about each other. So he knew about Shin's shards, and that he could even fly on them.
"I'm not sure. I've never flown before," Chris admitted, his hesitation clearly audible. "But it's been a long day, so... yeah. I'll try it." He looked up at Shin. "So... how does this work then?"

"That entirely depends," Shin noted, wheeling the mutant towards the exit with an arm around his shoulder. He felt like showing off, suddenly. Damn ego. It made him forget himself. "Do you prefer to ride on shiny platforms, or porygons? Or maybe, I could just get you a cab...?"
Technically, flying was more a thing reserved for rescues and Kealey. And mainly Kealey. Riding around on a shard platform with a guy was not epic or amazing. It was kind of creepy. Since flying was usually the most romantic thing of all.
Okay. Flying was still pretty epic. And Shin wasn't too creeped out about giving a guy a ride. That had been a knee jerk reaction, and a lie.
Chris wasn't exactly in the mood for trying something new and exiting. He just wanted to get home, and he'd prefer to keep his feet on the ground - or at least as close to the ground as possible. "I'll think I'm fine with just a cab, if it's all the same for you. It feels like I've had enough excitement for today," he said honestly.
As they walked toward the exit Chris let the other mutant lead him, but he leaned away from Shin as much as possible. He wasn't trying to be rude, he was just a big fan of personal space. When they had reached the curb Chris head started to follow all passing cars, looking after the familiar yellow ones. He was in luck - they didn't have to wait for long until a car drove up next to them. Usually it took some time for him to hail a cab - sooner or later one would stop, but mostly they just slowed down, took a look at him and drove on. He opened the back door and then looked back at Shin. "Are you coming too? Or are you going to help with the investigation?"

"I've got to go back," Shin replied with a polite smile. "Lots of work to do. You take care. Oh, and--" Shin reached into his pocket and pulled out his wallet. He fumbled with bills. Found enough to cover the cab ride. Handed it over to Chris. "For the ride."
"Bye." Shin turned, and left Chris to the cab driver, walking back down the sidewalk to the scene of the crime.
"What? Oh, right." Chris accepted the bills. He had brought some money with him but probably not enough for the entire fare. "I'll pay you back later," he continued, but he wasn't sure Shin had heard him - he had already started to walk back to the grocery store.
Chris took place in the cab and gave the adress to the driver, who quickly steered away from the curb. He leaned back and went through this evenings happenings - and one thing was sure, this hadn't improved his ability to interact with the outside world. If anything, he felt like locking himself into his room more than he had before.
