The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Gemma was focusing on holding the wolves off; she could sense Arnie running back and forth, and she really hoped he got water for Jorge, otherwise the whole fight would have been over all too soon.
>>“Nobody touches Poseidon’s intended love!”
And with that, Posiedon was back on his feet, fighting side by side with her, and even though his powers didn't work, he was doing quite a good job. Intended love. Oh, great.
>> “You keep attracting trouble young queen,”
Gemma twirled around to glare at the deity.
"Me? Attracting trouble?" she snapped, shaking her head in disbelief "Me?!"
>>“You care for the mortal I am trapped in, do you not? This…’Jorge’? I will do my best to keep him safe until I may be able to remove my essence from her. You have my word on that.”
She just couldn't answer anything to that. Nothing. She stood there, staring at him, and didn't find any words to tell him how wrong he was, and still, how very... kind? She closed her eyes briefly as he kissed her. This was not happening. The whole madness, and Jorge not being himself. She felt confused. Was it really Jorge? Was it Poseidon? Was it Poseidon in Jorge's body? Was she going insane?...
And then, back to fighting for their lives.
Gemma lost every sense of time as they fended off one wolf-man after the other. By the time the last one whined and scurried away, she felt like she had been fighting for days. She didn't use the gun; she needed a few bullets left in case they met something worse than the wolves. She was bleeding from a dozen scratches and bite marks; there was not a single part of her body that did not hurt. Standing without shaking was all she could do with her strength left.
"We... need to go." she panted, looking at Arnie and Jorge "We need to find... them, before more people get killed. We are running out of time."

>> "We... need to go…We need to find... them, before more people get killed. We are running out of time."
Poseidon could see the upset on her face, but really there were no words for him to use. How could he comfort her? Whoever’s body this was that he possessed obvious meant a lot and though he would have liked nothing better than to return to Olympus and leave her this “Jorge” person, he lacked the means to do it. Something kept him here, and that could only mean that the Fates had designed a different path. This could be a test, a challenge to see if he is still worthy of the mantle of Ocean God, or another of a multitude of reasons. But at this time…noting the expression on the Queen’s face…he wanted nothing more than to remove himself from this body.
Why do I care?! he admonished himself internally before he finally just shook the thought out.
So far Hades did not answer his summons. This was not like his brother, especially since their realms were so close together. This led him to further believe the queen’s comments. Maybe they were not in Tartarus after all. But if that were true…then where were they? It could only mean that if he were indeed in a strange land, the situation was far more different than he originally realized.
After the last of the wolfmen were dispatched, Poseidon turned back to the both Arnie and Gemma. The woman kept announcing that someone was behind this. Someone had caused all of them to become trapped in this place. This could only mean that the person had to be extremely powerful. And if they were that powerful…it could not have gone without notice.
He turned to find that Arnie had pried open the pen with the man-beasts and seemed concentrated on a single one. A female lay on the ground, wounded and bleating like a lost sheep. He rose a brow as he stood at the entrance of the cage and watched Arnie, tearfully, trying to make sense to the young woman. It looked as if he were pleaded with her to remember who she was.
“Arnie…where did this…Light you spoke of come from?” he asked seriously.
“What?” He cried as he held the bleating young woman in his arms. “How should I know?”
“I don’t mean the source. In which direction did it come? Can you remember?” Poseidon pressed.
Arnie looked as if he were about to yell at him when he paused and thought for a second. Finally he pointed off towards the north-west direction. “There….it rolled in from that direction.”
Poseidon nodded. “It may be best if you stay, Mortal. You have found your love. Stay with her and protect these others. The wolf demons should not return.” he turned back to Gemma. He pointed off into the distance with the end of his new ‘trident’. “If what you say is true and someone has indeed caused this madness, then they must lay in that direction. The source of whatever this light or fog you say you saw must be there.”

>>“It may be best if you stay, Mortal. You have found your love. Stay with her and protect these others. The wolf demons should not return.”
"He's right." Gemma nodded, although it felt weird to admit Jorgeidon just said something that actually made sense "Keep her safe."
>>“If what you say is true and someone has indeed caused this madness, then they must lay in that direction. The source of whatever this light or fog you say you saw must be there.”
And then, he did it again.
"Jorge." she sighed, shaking her head "You're a genius."
And with that, they started off in the direction Arnie pointed out. Gemma was glad they finally has somewhere to go; the zoo was giving her the creeps. She checked the gun again. She didn't need to; it just became something to do every now and then, rather than checking other things, like her wounds, or the time.
"Whoever did this, has powers like yours" she said as they hurried, as much as they could hurry with Jorge's limp and her blood loss "That means, I can cancel his powers, just like yours. I just need to get close enough." she explained "Whenever we find them, that is the most important thing. You need to help me to get close enough."
That was the plan. The only plan. That was what she focused on; it was the only thing worth focusing on. She just hoped the adrenaline would get them through till then. Both of them.
"And for the record, yes, I care for him." she added "I care for you. So. Try not to get killed."

>> "And for the record, yes, I care for him…I care for you. So. Try not to get killed."
The ocean god uttered no words as he continued on, his new heavy weapon clanking hard against the pavement with each step. His eyes continued to scan for any more of the furry fiends but so far it seemed as if they have been able to stop the whole lot of them. That last beating really took some of the energy out of the god, especially since he was still thirsty, but he still felt good, at least good enough to fend off any attackers. His ears stayed open as he tried to listen for any more howling. When he heard nothing, he turned back to Gemma, resting the metal bar across his shoulder.
“Why do you care for this mortal so much?” he asked. The question sounded almost incredulous, but there really was an earnest curiosity behind it. “Why do any mortals entertain ideas of love with another mortal? Flesh dies and decays with time. It is weak and easily susceptible to harm.” he sighed a bit as he looked about to see if there were any more dangers before turning back to her. “Mortals continue to amaze me. There are a number of you humans who spurn the advances of a god! One that, if only you’d love them, could share that love for an eternity. No decay, no touch of Hades’ icy handed minion Death. Only…everlasting warmth in the arms of your lover,” he whispered as he reached out and very gently touched her arm, “to share until the last of the stars flicker out and eons after that.”
He shook his head as he continued on towards the Northwest. They were still amongst the cages so Poseidon was little at ease. He glanced over at Gemma before he averted his eyes once more.
“Listen to me not, mortal queen, if I have offended you with my question,” he muttered as they finally arrived at a large gate that seemed to lead back out into the regular sections of the park. “Curiosity bests me time and again. Shall we go?”
Just then a throaty growl issued out from the dark. This was different though. It was alone and one that was filled with complete and utter rage. From a corner of the get stepped an extremely large and muscular man, wearing simply, glued on fur and a cheap Lon Chaney Jr. Wolf Mask. His fingers were bloody, the remaining nails he had were sharpened by glinted red in the dim light. He snarled loud, drool dripping from between his lips as he regarded both Gemma and Poseidon closely.
“You both are going to pay for what you’ve done to my territory! To my pack!!” He growled as he flashed his sharpened, bloody canines.
Poseidon once more placed Gemma behind him as he stepped forward, ‘trident’ twirled in his hands. “Lycos! Your torment of these simple creatures ends now…”

>>“Why do you care for this mortal so much? Why do any mortals entertain ideas of love with another mortal? Flesh dies and decays with time. It is weak and easily susceptible to harm.”
"Well" Gemma smirked "Mortals try not to think about death and decay all that much. We're just trying to make the most of the time we have."
>>“Mortals continue to amaze me. There are a number of you humans who spurn the advances of a god! One that, if only you’d love them, could share that love for an eternity. "Wow" she smiled softly "There's a poet in there somewhere." she'll need to remind him of that once he got back to his own self. It was kind of sweet. "And yeah, I wouldn't mind some warmth." she added, wrapping her arms around herself. Her costume was not too warm to begin with, and now, town, soaked and bloody, it didn't provide much comfort from the chill of the Halloween night.
>>“Listen to me not, mortal queen, if I have offended you with my question. Curiosity bests me time and again. Shall we go?”
"You didn't offend me." Gemma smiled "It was a valid question..."
Another wolf.
"... but we'll need to get back to it later."
She tooka a few steps back once again, allowing Jorge control over his element. She made sure she was in the right angle for a shot, if she needed to help out. The wolf-man looked huge and fierce.
"Last warning." she called out, since it seemed to be able to comprehend speech "You should really just walk away. Or choose between drowning and a silver bullet." she added "Scoot."

>> "Last warning…You should really just walk away. Or choose between drowning and a silver bullet…Scoot."
Lycos heard the warning well as he glared between Gemma and Poseidon. The feral part of his brain kept telling him to lash out. To run towards them and rip them to shreds but the thought of the silver bullet sobered him up just a bit. For a fraction of a second, he wanted to run away. But that rationality was soon beat out by the beast that lay inside of him. He wanted blood. Not only to feast, but because it was what they deserved. They had to die for what they did to his pack. He would kill the male and force the female to watch as he ripped his head off! But with a glance at the Gemma, he slowly backed way, looking more human for a second.
“You’ve been warned well beast! Flee from here now!!”
Lycos only grinned wide as he continued to back away. He said nothing but only continued to glare at them with his smile. Then, just as he stepped back far enough, he suddenly reached down, snatched up the lid from a crash can and hurled it as hard as he could towards Gemma. Then, as the lid soared through the air, Lycos made his move and charged headlong at Poseidon!
“Gemma!” Poseidon shouted, but before he could see if the discus connected, he felt the heavy weight of the massive Lycos barreling down on him.
The scene blurred as the Lycos leapt at Poseidon. The heavy bulk of the man soared gracefully through the air, jaws wide open and bloodied fingernails flashing in the dim light. The two looked like titans as Lycos soared and Poseidon reared his trident back. With a quick twirl and the strength backed swing, iron met jaw as Poseidon connected the end of the bar with his attackers face. Lycos yelped as he felt the pain shoot through his face and was thrown completely off course. Lycos tumbled off into the bushes as Poseidon stepped back and kept his staff at the ready. He waited…eyes unmoving until finally there was a rustle and…
HOOOOooooooOOOOOOWWWWLLL!!!
Lycos leapt straight and before Poseidon could connect again, the wolfman snarled as he slashed out, leaving a trail of bloodied scratches across Poseidon’s chest. The god grunt in pain as he summoned the waters to his aide but before they could be of any use, Lycos once again struck out. His massive fist struck hair and hit the god squarely across the jaw. He tumbled on his back and looked up just in time to see Lycos once more leap up and land hard upon his stomach. Poseidon grunted out the last of his air in his lungs as the massive man landed with his knee in the cop’s gut. Lycos salivated as he roared out and suddenly leaned down…and bit!
CHOMP!!
“ARrrrrrggGGGHH!!!”! Poseidon screamed as pain tore through his body like lightning. He grasped and struggled with the man as the pain kept him from focusing the waters onto the beast.

The common belief that in crucial moments everything seems to slow down, like in the movies, was a myth. Busted. Gemma barely saw a flash of the lid hurled towards her before it collided with her arm and her side, as she tried to turn away. She was not fast enough. First there was a flash of white-hot pain in her arm and the air got knocked out of her lungs; the next thing she knew, she was lying on the ground, willing herself to breathe. Her left arm was numb, and every breath hurt. Also, her right hand, that had been holding the gun, was empty. Grabbing around half blind from pain, she tried to find the gun, but the only thing she reached was the lid; turning around onto her back, she tried to look towards the sounds of fighting. The beast attacked Jorge.
It's not a beast. It's a man, dressed as a wolf and mind-wiped into one. He's NOT. A beast. Just like Poseidon was not a god.
The sceam of pain coming from Jorge pulled her back into reality. Sitting up, she finally found the gun; the new rush of adrenaline made sure she could hold it as she stood, and took a few steps closer. She still couldn't use her left hand; she couldn't even aim properly. If she tried from any farther away, he'd have had a good chance at shooting Jorge.
She aimed, she shot; the bullet hit the wolf in the tigh, and he let go of Jorge to howl in pain, and roll in the mud, staring at the woman with eyes filled with rage. Gemma stared back. The wolf cowered. She was not sure how she took the few steps of a distance that were between her and the beast; the next moment, she was standing over him, using the force left in her hand to hit him on the back of his head.

The struggle was an intense one. The massive wolf man had been able to pin Poseidon down, snarling and snapping at him with his jaws before finally he clamped his mouth down hard on the deity’s shoulder. He bellowed in pain as the creature snarled, his blood flowing into the waiting mouth of the man-beast. Poseidon wanted nothing more but to crush his head, but the man proved to be much stronger, or at least the god was weak enough to be over powered by a mere mortal.
His blood seeping out, Poseidon grunt and struggled more until he saw a vision step into view. Gemma, the mortal queen, stepped in, an odd weapon in her hand (the same she had been using the whole night) and struck hard. The salivating Lycos could barely register what had happened, it seemed, because before Poseidon knew it, the man was down, knocked out from a dizzying blow to the back of his head.
Poseidon grunted as the man dropped his full weight onto the Greek god. So far things were not going as they should have. So he simply turned and shoved the man off to the side.
He carefully stood and grinned at Gemma. “You have quite the angry streak, Queen Gemma. You know -…”
Before he could finish his sentence he watched as the light flickered behind Gemma’s eyes. Her limbs crumpled and before he knew it, she was falling to the earth. Poseidon was quick to reach out and scoop her up. In his arms, he cradled her as he gently stood up and looked for some place to lay her down. She had to be exhausted, that could be the only reason as to why she blacked out.
“Gemma? Gemma wake up!” growled a little in concern as he watched her face.
He stepped quickly over to a nearby bench and gently set her down. A fake spider meant to terrify anyone who sat down lurched out, hissed and spat water. Poseidon angrily swatted it aside and sent it sprawling across the ground into a heap of gears and plastic. He felt her skin and realized how cold she was. She was scantily dressed for this time of the night. So quickly he dashed over to a nearby false human doll (mannequin) of a snarling vampire and ripped the coat it wore, as well as found another of those vessel which contained, what Gemma described to him, as “bottled water”, and snatched one up.
Upon his return he draped Gemma in coat and carefully positioned himself on the bench next to her. There he held her close, hoping the warmth of his mortal body and the coat would warm her up.
“Come on, Queen Gemma. You are stronger than this,” he said as he opened the bottle of water and poured a very small amount on her lips. “You survived a pack of wolves, you can survive this.” There was actual concern in his voice as he wrapped his arms around her and simply held her tight.

>>“Come on, Queen Gemma. You are stronger than this. You survived a pack of wolves, you can survive this.”
The words came from far, far away. Gemma felt warm and cold at the same time; her body was aching all over, especially her left arm, which had a dull, throbbing pain in it, and still didn't move. She felt water on her lips. The first drops, she coughed up; opening her eyes, she swallowed the rest, and took a deep breath.
They were sitting on a bench; Jorge had wrapped her up in a coat, and was holding her close.
"I'm... not a queen." she muttered, moving her limbs carefully to make sure they moved at all. She took a deep breath and let it out slowly. Her vision cleared. "God, I wis this night was over..."
She looked up at Jorge; he was bloody and beaten up. Also, he looked worried.
"The god of the oceans, concerned about a mortal" she said with the shadow of a smile.
Sitting up, she checked her wounds.
"I think my arm is broken." she frowned. She tore the rest of her shawl, and tied it around her shoulder to make a sling. She needed some help with it, but it was better than nothing. Turning back to Jorge, she looked at the bite mark on his shoulder. "You'll need to wrap that in something." she said "I... can't do it with one hand."

>> "The god of the oceans, concerned about a mortal"
Poseidon smirked a little at her comment but did not reveal anything else in his expression to show that he was amused. He simply tried to keep her warm and helped her to sit up when she needed to help. This was bad, he could already see that something was wrong with her arm.
>> "I think my arm is broken.”
“You have to make things further interesting, do you not, mortal?” he asked in a very poor attempt at a human joke.
And that proved it though. She was hurt. He sighed a little in concern but managed to keep it barely audible. He wanted to touch her arm to check for himself, but he wasn’t sure that he could have the gentle touch that mortals have with each other when one of them is hurt. Also, he was a god, he didn’t know what a broken arm felt like. He had no business with it. Instead he let his hand waver over her arm before he pulled his hand back. The last thing she needed was a curious god to move her arm and make whatever aliment it suffered worse. Instead he simply stroked her good arm, and tried to get the warmth to extend out to the rest of her body.
He watched as she did a poor attempt at making a sling for her arm, to which he finally decided to help her. As carefully as he could muster with his burning shoulder, the Ocean God, one not known for subtlety actually managed to be gentle with her. Very carefully he helped her to tie the shawl around into a firm knot so the sling would be secure. Once he was sure he actually did a good job of it he moved back to let her move around to face him. Her face looked concerned at the wound Lycos inflicted on him.
>> “You'll need to wrap that in something…I... can't do it with one hand."
She really did care about the vessel he inhabited. Part of him began to feel that pang of guilt again for occupying this mortal man’s form and putting his flesh into so much danger. That was not fair to his unconscious mind…and especially not to the mortal queen. Yet this was not his choice and try as he might to rectify it, he simply could not. But as he sat there, trapped in a prison of flesh and blood…he soon found himself staring. Normally beauty was something that easily attracted Poseidon but there was something more it than just that when it came to this woman. She was beautiful, yes, as beautiful as any Goddess he has seen before tonight, but there was a fierceness about her. A wild strength that he could relate to. She was a like a strong ocean wave or current, a force that will not be contained or reckoned with.
This…Jorge was a lucky mortal to captured the heart of a woman such as her.
“Do no fear for me. I fear for you now. I don’t want you in danger…but I cannot very well leave you to fend for your own right now, can I?” he muttered, then met her strong gaze. “Besides, I doubt I could rid myself of your company right now anyways, you little albatross.”
Again, another poor human joke before he ripped part of his robes that still cling onto his waist and patted it, with gritting teeth, against his shoulder. Pain…how do humans live with it?

>>“You have to make things further interesting, do you not, mortal?”
"Oh yes. I live for thr thrill." Gemma muttered, biting her lips as she tired to move her arm once again. It was no good. Not being able to use it was going to be a great disadvantage in a fight. She glanced up, and saw the concern in his eyes as he helped her with the sling. How can someone be so nice, even when he's a Greek god? Mystery.
>>“Do no fear for me. I fear for you now. I don’t want you in danger…but I cannot very well leave you to fend for your own right now, can I? Besides, I doubt I could rid myself of your company right now anyways, you little albatross.”
That was it. The exhaustion, and the adrenaline, and the whole crazyness of having a god by her side; Gemma cracked up. "Did you really just call me an albatross?" she asked, after a few moments of giggling fit. She shook her head. There were more important things to do.
Using her free hand, she helped him bandage the wound on his shoulder; it looked bad, but once this was all over, it would be healed in no time. They just... needed to put an end to all the crazyness.
"We need to go, Jorge." she muttered, leaning in to kiss him briefly before she stood up from the bench. "We can do this. We have to."

>> "Did you really just call me an albatross?"
Through her fit of giggles, Poseidon simply watched her. He felt better that he was at least able to get a smile and a laugh out of her. He did not know why he cared, but he was not going to question it anymore. Jorge’s unconscious mind could not be having an influence on him…or could it? Was that why he was caring for this mortal? He finally shoved the thought away and went back to checking her sling.
Before long though the attention was turned upon him. He remained still as she pressed close, helping him to adjust a covering for the wound on his shoulder. There was a wince or two, but his attention was more focused on Gemma and as she expertly managed to use one hand to bandage him up (with his help of course). He was sorry that he allowed Jorge’s vessel to be damaged again, but it was not something he could help. At least the body would walk away from this no real serious injuries.
At least that is what he hoped. The night was young.
Once Gemma was done, he flexed his arm a little and he had to admit that it felt better. The pain had finally settled and the soreness could be ignored. He had to smirk at her ingenuity at healing, even when she herself was suffered such maladies.
“Thank you,” was all he could say. She definitely had a bit of a touch herself.
>> "We need to go, Jorge…”
He was about to nod in reply when he watched as she leaned in and placed a kiss a brief kiss on his lips. It was something that he actually found himself closing his eyes for. This was a new experience for him because usually such small details managed to escape the god when he was woe-ing a young woman. Normally things just ended with the carnal delights and there was little to be said after that. A quick shift into a sea creature of his choice or some other ethereal being or form and he slipped away. That was his original intention when he saw this mortal woman, but…it was different now.
>> “We can do this. We have to."
He followed as she stood up and he found himself still stricken by the touch of her lips. He turned about the follow her out of the gates when he stopped and very gentle touched her shoulder. He found it ironic that he was suddenly gaining a mortal’s touch. He could be soft if he wanted to, like the gentle lap of water on the shore. His hand on her good shoulder, he very slowly turned her around and looked over her face carefully. There was a curiosity in his eyes as he gently closed the gap between them, his body warm against her cool skin. One of his free hands slowly traced up the back of her neck and ran gently through her hair.
His eyes held the utmost sincerity as he held her tenderly, as to not disrupt her hurt arm. “I’ve…never kissed as a mortal before.”
Then he leaned in close and pushed his lips against hers. It may have been the wrong time and the wrong place…but for the moment, none of that matter. Instead, all he wanted to do was kiss her, as tenderly and as lovingly as a mortal would kiss another. And for that first time that night…the god became human.

They walked out of the zoo, and left at least part of the nightmare behind. Gemma was glad they got out; even though the same madness was going on everywhere else in the park, somehow it felt less threating when there were no actual beasts involved. She willed herself to breath in slow, steady breaths, and save her strength for later - she knew she was going to need it before she had a chance to rest.
She stopped when Jorge touched her shoulder; she glanced around first, thinking he wanted to draw her attention to something, and only after she didn't notice anything, did she turn around to look at him. She was pulled into a gentle embrace; her body welcomed the warmth, and her heart rate picked up once again, but this time not from fear. There was a look in Jorge's eyes she'd never seen before. Not from him, not from anyone else.
>>“I’ve…never kissed as a mortal before.”
Yes you did, she wanted to say - but she didn't. Partly, because she was not even sure anymore; as the night dragged along, myth and illusion seemed to become reality, and Poseidon seemed much more than just a costume that came to life. Also, he was kissing her.
Even without his ability, he was like water. Soft and gentle, and still, powerful. A force of nature, in a human body. Gemma's free hand traveled up his chest, to his shoulder, into his hair; she pulled him closer as she returned the kiss with more passion that was fit for a nightmare and two mortals, bloody and beaten up. She was the one to break the kiss, and pull back, when the voice of reason became too loud.
"I really hope you'll remember this." she said with a soft smile as she stepped back. She was quiet for a few moments, gathering her wits that had been shaken by the kiss; then she turned back to Jorge, determined as ever.
"All right, Poseidon, enough of the romance novel. We have a villain to smite into kindom come."

Jorge
As lips pressed, the Greek deity could feel only the passion that welled up inside of a human heart. To gods, passions are momentary and swift, especially for one such as him. It ebbs and flows like the tide, it rushes quick and circumvents anything in its path. This moment, though, was different. Poseidon felt his mortal heart swell in his chest at her touch, that roguish hand that crept up to his neck and wrap back around into his hair. The sensation was a strong one, that set his skin on fire. Though being a god meant a lifetime of experiences for some reason , he could remember nothing like this.
And in a way he was glad for that. Once he ejected the vessel, such sensations would be gone to him. At least he could have this memory. As well as that ghostly feeling her lips left upon his for the rest of his immortality.
Finally she broke the kiss and stepped back, a hint of breathlessness on the both of them as they stared at each other. That smile on her face…it had more light than any star that Apollo could bring. He watched as she finally seemed to compose herself enough to step back, thankfully. Surprisingly he had to calm himself down as well, gather breath into his lungs again before she smiled down to her.

“Yes, we do.” he said as he hefted up his ‘trident’ once more and continued with her out of the park. “I don’t know what dangers will come next, but I want you to be safe. Stay behind me when problems arise. At the least I can keep you safe.”
He sighed, still a smidge of envy in his heart for Jorge’s claim on this woman. Unfortunately he felt himself becoming more and more human. He wanted this woman in a way that was more than the passion filled tryst that normally swung this god’s heart. Instead…he felt something that…bordered on an emotion he had never felt before. Something…which he did not want to name.
Finally a confused look came over his expression as he turned back to Gemma. “What on earth does ‘Romance Novel’ even mean?”

"Sure." Gemma smirked as they continued on. The park seemed strangely quiet; victims were out, dead, or hiding; predators were stalking their prey. The chaor of the first... minutes? Hours? Days? was gone. She was not sure she liked the silence better. She looked around, trying to determine where they were; from the angle where she remembered the light, and the direction Arnie told them, she could determine which way to go. Kinda, sorta. And trust in luck.
>>“What on earth does ‘Romance Novel’ even mean?”
"Daphnis and Chloe." she answered shortly with a smirk. She kept herself from glancing at Jorge. Maybe he would have known what she was talking about. But Poseidon was the god of water, not literature.
