The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

With Millie sorted Michael relaxed, and struggled to suppress his grin at Raina’s suggestion of dressing Ted in drag to get him around New York, and nearly fell over laughing when Ted actually agreed. When the pair of them set off to go and dress Ted in his new clothes Michael turned back to Nika.
“And then there were two. So, what do you want to do now?” he asked. With limited knowledge of the mansion himself he wondered if she knew what would be fun to do around here.

Nicki strolled into the kitchen, her head buried in her book. She pushed her black frames a little further up her nose, carefully stepping to not fall or trip over her coverse laces. She might have been careful not to trip on her laces but her longer blue jeans were another story. She collided into the kitten-girl in front of her.
"Whoops, sorry roomie" Nicki smiled and leaned over, kissing her forehead. Nicki was a huge spazz. But in a whoosh, Nika was gone, dragged off by someone she didn't recoginize. "Bye..." she giggled slightly. Nicki turned around, looking over at the guy she hadn't meant.
"Oh, hi there. My name's Nicki" Nicki leaned over, her book in one hand, her other arm extended, waiting for the boy to shake it.

“Michael,” he said taking the offered hand, “I’m kinda new here, still getting my barings.” He gave a sheepish grin. Nicki was hot, and he began to blush a little. “So… you been here long?”
He wonder a little whether Millie/Gris was ok, but with all those people to help her he reckoned she’d be fine. Having heard Nicki call Nika her roomie Michael wondered if you had to share rooms. It wouldn’t be too bad provided you got someone you liked. If he ended up with a jackass he wasn’t quite sure what he’d do, but he had a feeling it wouldn’t be pretty.

"Nice to meet you Michael," she smiled brightly. "And I know what you mean. I'm still pretty new here too and it's damned near impossible to get your barrings around here. Everything is SO huge...pretty scary if you're from a small place" Nicki smiled and looked around, noticing it was only the two of them. She smiled and hopped up on the counter.
She wasn't usually this talkative...in fact, it was only under Nika's tutalige that she had managed to start coming out of her shell a little. Some habits died hard though, and she felt her hand fly up to her earlobe and pull, her classic nervous tick.
"So you said you're pretty new? When did you get here? How'd you hear about this place?"

A lot of people seemed to be new, which made Michael feel a bit better. It’s never fun to be “the new kid” so that fact that there were other new people would help. “I got here earlier today, so have absolutely no bearings whatsoever.”
Taking a seat of one of the stools next to the counter that Nicki was sitting on he continued, “My parents found out about it and after revealing my powers again they thought it better somewhere that would understand me and let me just be me.”
“So what about you then? What’s your powers?” He was really interested in other peoples powers. They way he saw it powers were something to make life more fun, though after meeting Ted he could see how some would be more of a burden than others. He really hopped that Nicki had a fun power.

"That's so cool that your parents were way into it. It always helps to have parents who are nice and supportive you know?" Nicki smiled, still pulling on her lobe. Family. Naturally the conversation would go there IMMEDIATELY.
"Oh, I've been here for about a week or so. I pretty much keep to myself so I just know where the classrooms are, and where the library is...dorms, that kind of stuff" Nicki smiled, folding her legs under her. "I can actually absorb knowlege" Nicki smiled. "Books, computers, hell, it's getting to the point where I can do it with people...it's kinda cool" Nicki smiled happily, before remembering the events of mere days ago. "But um, sometimes it's hard too. I can overload. The first time I tried to absorb from a computer, I went into a coma for a couple of days...couldn't remember anything that had happened that entire week. It was pretty bad..." Nicki shrugged a little, before looking back up. "But hey, what about you?"

Something in the way Nicki spoke about her parents made him think it was a bit of a sore subject, so he made a mental note to stay off that topic. After hearing Nick describe her powers he said “Very cool, well except the coma part, but that must mean you know all kinds of things.”
“Myself, I’m invincible. I’ve been hit by cars, beaten up, shot, all sorts and not a scratch. It’s actually quite hard to hide, as there are loads of ways to injure yourself, even in a minor fashion. Also it makes injections impossible as the needles can’t break my skin, so I’m really hoping I don’t catch one of the diseases that people get vaccinated against but I haven’t been.”

Nicki smiled bright again as Michael described his power. "Oh my God that's so cool, safe the possibility of polio. But that's really very epic you know? I could totally picture you pushing on the grill of a car to safe a little girl and the car crumpling and the whole thing just being very dynamic." Nicki chuckled a little, catching herself. "Sorry, I write so sometimes I tend to 'plot out' life." she looked back up to Michael, smiling.

Michael could barely believe it as she described him crumpling a car around him to save a little girl. “Actually, that’s how I revealed my powers. A lorry was driving towards a little girl who I shoved out of the way. The lorry hit me, but instead of being sent flying, like when I was hit by a car, it crumpled around me. It was very weird, and I’ve not done it since, but I hope to learn how to do it again.”
“One thing I really want to do is play contact sports. My parents never let me just incase something happened where I should be injured, but instead I get up without a scratch and everyone knows I’m a mutant. However, here are mutant high that’s not an issue, so I can’t wait.”
“What about you?” he asked, “Is there anything that you wanted to do before, but couldn’t until you came here?” Her power seemed easy enough to hide, well except for the coma from try to absorb from a computer, and he reckoned she could probably have done most things in a normal school that she could here.

Nicki smiled as the boy told her the story of how his powers were revealed. "Well, like I said, I pick things up from people. Sometimes it's very subtle and I don't even realize I've done it. If it's something that you think about there's a good shot I can read it...so if you don't want me to know anything about you or if there something that would be potentially embarassing, I suggest keepin those thoughts in the back of your head" Nicki smiled
"Oh yeah, I bet you'll find people who will give you a run for your money here too. Between superstrength and engery blasts I bet a little football game gets pretty fun" she smiled brightly.
"Well...in all honesty, coming here to Xavier's means there's a chance I can go to college...that's something I never had the chance of doing when I was at home..." Nicki pulled on her ear lobe again.

“Mutant football, now that does sound fun,” said Michael with a grin. He took note of her mention of picking things up and pushed thoughts of how hot she was to the back of his mind.
“Well I’m sure with the ability to absorb knowledge straight from the books into your head you’ll get into college no problem. After all, cramming for tests should be a breeze.” He said with a grin.
“So am I going to have to find a roommate, like you and Nika? Or is that optional?” It wasn’t like Michael would flat out refuse to share a room, but he liked a little privacy. Still, a roommate could be fun, so long as they weren’t a jerk.

"Well, I gotta say, mutant softball is fun. I've played with a couple of people around. Kinda sucks for me since I have no physical ability, so I'm damned near useless on the field" Nicki smiled, squinting a little as she felt Michael's thoughts shift. She shrugged it off lightly and just readjusted her seating.
"Yeah, well getting in would never have been a problem, but um...back where I come from...it just wouldn't have happened. Small town, I was pretty much supposed to be married and pregnant by the time I was 19, hardly time for college" Nicki smiled, a hint of sadness in her voice.
"You know, I'm not sure about the roomie situation. You have to go see Tric and she'll get you all set up. I just lucked out and happen to meet Nika the moment I got on campus and she kind of...took control" Nicki chuckled lightly.

Upon hearing Nicki mention what life would have been like for her had she not come to the school made him feel a little sad for her. However, she was here and that wasn’t going to happen. “Good job you’re a mutant then huh,” she said, trying to sound casual about it, “Seeing as it’ll help get you into college.”
“Rooms, maybe that’s something I should have asked her about when I got here. Ah well, I’ll jump off that bridge when I come to it,” he said with a smile. “Now I’m guessing you came down here for food originally. There should still be some cookies around providing Ted didn’t eat them all.”

"Yeah, I definitely lucked out and got the hell out of that small little town before I ended up not having a life at all..." Nicki smiled, the happiness in her voice only slightly forced.
"Aw, cookies would be nice, but those store-bought are hardly what I came in here for. You see, my dear Michael, it is homemade cookies that are the only reason worth leaving your room" she smiled brightly, marking her place in the book and turning to the fridge. "So if you're invincible, does that mean I don't have to worry about an allergy to chocolate? Because that will be included" Nicki smiled, already moving around the kitchen, grabbing things she would need for cookies.

Michael smiled at the mention of homemade cookies. “No chocolate allergies here,” he promised as Nicki set about gathering the bits she needed for the cookies. “Now I’ve never cooked before, but if there’s anything I can do to help just let me know.”
“So did you learn how to make them from cook books that you just absorb the recipe straight out of?” He was only beginning to imagine the countless possibilities that Nicki could do with her powers. She could literally do anything she set her mind to.
