The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

"Well, let me tell you. I had something of a training/competition session and it was tough. I ended up in the infirmary for a night." Nika looked at both Ted and Raina.
"I came from Boston although I'm not sure if that is where I was born or not." The cat girl found another package of cookies. After placing them on the counter she got herself a glass of milk and sat down to have her snack.
"I hope I'm not being to forward but may i ask what your guys mutations are?"
Ted watched her grab another bag of cookies, and decided that it would be rude to continue eating all these people's food. After all, he'd only just moved in. He listened to her question, and sighed. My mutation, always a dodgy topic... "Well, it's kinda like being a werewolf. In the right conditions, I turn into a nasty, firry beast that has a large appitite for flesh. Largly human flesh." He then realised that Nika was eating and that this wan't going to help her appitite. "But unlike traditional werewolves, instead of transforming under a full moon I transform if I feel enogh pain." That pretty much described his powers, "although there are some benifits. When not a ravenous, flesh-eating beast I have an awesome sense of smell and hearing, above any normal person. Also, I'm a fair bit stronger than I should be." He considered finding a way to proove this, but couldn't think of one that didn't involve breaking things/people. "That's me in a nutshell, water-girl here is a little more complicated."

Michael poked his head into the kitchen. He was hungry, and looking for a bite to eat. Inside he saw several people, including a girl who seemed to have cat ears and a tail. He heard the guy mention his mutation and felt sorry for him, as it didn’t sound as fun as his was.
Clearing his throat he said, “Umm… hi guys. I came looking for a bite to eat and I guess this is the right place.”
Ted looked up as yet another person entered the kitchen. "I'd guess so, judging from the food," he joked. "Grab a seat, I'm sure we haven't run out of cookies yet." Ted picked up the packet, grabbing a cookie for himself, and tossed the rest to Michael. "Just don't them all up. I'm Ted, by the way. You a mutant too?" Ted reckoned that the question was kinda redundant in this place, but it made conversation through lack of anything better to say.
Nika's ears flicked in the direction of the doorway as another person entered and spoke up. She turned to see this new person since she didn't recognize his voice. "Yeah come on in. There's plenty of food and we're just having snacks." She smiled at the boy.
"Man, you boys sure are tall around here. I feel like a little person when you're around." Nika was trying not to laugh as she finished but it was true. "I'm Nika by the way. Nice to meet you."
Catching the cookies Ted threw at him Michael picked one out and took a bite. Wandering over the counter where they were all gathered and set the cookies down. “I’m Michael, and yeah I’m a mutant. I’m invincible,” he said with a grin, “I’ve been hit by cars, shot at, run over by a lorry and nothing hurts.”
He turned to Nika, “I’m guessing the ears and tail are for more than just show? How well can you hear with them?” He was so happy to be able to freely talk about his powers and actually enjoy them, as opposed to being careful to hide them.
"Invincible? Nice, that could probably come in useful." Ted laughed, "Wanna switch powers? Yours sound like much more fun." Ted's hand wavered over the cookies, but he decided that he'd had enough. He then turned to Nika as Michael talked to her, "And what can you do with the tail? Can it pick up stuff, or does it just wave from side to side and look cute?" He did wander what she could do with it, after all he didn't really know if he even got a tail. He reckoned he did though, as he'd seen pictures of him in beast-form on the front of newspapers as he 'hunted' in New York.

Raina looked at the floor bashfully. "Long story short, I chant - a form of singing- and use an ice call. I ca call the water out the air and freeze it. Not very good. Not yet. You'd think in my 21 years on earth I'd be able to hone in on it by now- but not yet." She shrugged as yet another young man entered the room.
"Man" she thought "everyone's a teen! I feel old!" she mentally slapped herself glad she hadn't said it out loud.
"Hi Micheal, you sure you're invinsible? You may fall victim to the charms of Fiona!" she winked at Ted.

Michael frowned in confusion, “Who is Fiona and what can she do that I should worry about?” He wasn’t worried, he’d yet to meet anything that could hurt him and didn’t think that he ever would. The invincible feeling you have as a teenager is kind of magnified when your, well… invincible.
He took another cookie and munched on it, “So can you make things out of ice, like statues or whatever?”
"Wow, invicible. That's pretty cool Michael. Oh, and to answer your question Ted I can hear just as well as a cat can." Nika smiled and wiggled her ears. "No my tail can't pick up stuff like a prehensile tail. So it pretty much just flicks around." Nika dipped one of the cookies in her glass of milk and ate it.

ooc: you should read Fiona's profile IC:
"Fiona's ability... well.. you'll find out." giggled Raina "Invincible or not!" She shrugged at his question. "I guess if I were any good, I could... but currently I can't do much. Freeze a few things, conjure up a little water. I'm here to learn. I'm hoping the headmistress tricity will be able to help me refine my gift."

OOC: I'm Hunter, I know all about Fiona
IC: “So how come you have to sing to do it?” Michael had no idea about mutations you could activate, his was always on. Now the lorry crumpling around him, that was a new one. Maybe if Tricity could help Raina she could help him develop his as well.
An idea sparked in Ted's mind. "So no matter what happens, you can't be injured? Even if say, a large beast were to attack, hellbent on eating you alive?" He knew that would sound wierd, but Michael would be the perfect prctise partner. He could transform and NOT kill people, which would be a nice change.

Michael turned to Ted, guessing what he was thinking having heard about his mutation on the way in. “While it’s not actually happened to me yet, in theory yes. Can’t see how that’d be worse than being hit by a lorry.”
While Ted tried to control his mutation Michael could try and get to grips with his latest development and see if he became immovable again. He had no idea how, but he was more than willing to give it a go.

Raina shurgged as Mike's question. "I dont know." she admitted. "I;ve always been a chanter, it was what I was born to be. Strange things just started to happen one day." she seemed lost in her thoughts for a moment and in the time Ted and Mike started a conversation. Raina was getting curiouser and curiouser about Ted's strange ability and though she knew it was dangerous- she couldn't help but wonder what he was like in action.
She flashed her brown eyes and tossed the red hair behind her back wondering what the two boys could have in store for each other.
