The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

"No no...it's fine. Don't worry about it. We're just chatting. There's plenty of food all over this kitchen. Have at it, hun." *Tricity told her, smiling. Suddenly one of the older teenagers of the mansion, names Crystal, came running into the kitchen.* crystal: "Ms. Tipper, I think you should come with me upstairs..." "Why, what's wrong?" *The girl looked at Cassiel and then at Fade, but she shook her head slightly.* crystal: "No, I think it should only be you, please." *Tricity looked at Cassiel for a moment and then nodded to Crystal, putting her spoon back down in the bowl of unfinished ice cream. She mentally concentrated on Cassiel to give him a message. 'If anything is up, I'll call for you'. Tricity went over to Crystal and the two girls went upstairs to see what was wrong.*
Fade watched her leave the room, one of her eyebrows cocked up in a confused manner. "Odd..." She whispered in a freaked-out tone. After the two girls were gone, she turned back to Cassiel and smiled, "So, anything good to eat?" She asked before making her way over to one of the cabinets and opening it. Food, lots of food, in strange bottles. Her foster parents would shake the contents of these bottles into their dinner, but she never quite got qhat they were. Unknowingly, she pulled out the bottle labeled "cinnamon" and attempted to read it. "Kin-kena-kenamoan!" She squealed, realizing that she read it. What use did reading have for her while she had no home? She forgot how to read and understood some of the words, having great difficulty sounding them out. "Looks good." She smiled, honestly thinking that this was just some food in a bottle called Kenamoan.
She smiled, recognizing the scent of cinnamon, it was strong and whenever she walked by a cinnamon treat store, she would have to go in, drawn in by the smell. It's a good smell. "Right, I was just making sure, um, yea, so I can't read well." She admitted, no big deal, just pop it out, maybe there were some others that didn't know how to read, she might not be the only one that has difficulties with easy things.
Mike shrugged and smiled good-naturedly. "It happens."
He froze, glancing up in the direction of the dorm rooms. "Ah hell... sorry, but she needs me. Help yourself to whatever's here, I'll catch you when everything's straightened out again."
Fade watched him leave. "Boy, why is everything so uptight here? There's always something happening, never just peace and quiet. Well, hopefully, I'll get to know these people better and they might call on me for some help, not that I would be helpful in anything other than stealth, eavesdropping, and stealing, but still, it's the thought that counts." She immediately stopped talking to herself, realizing that if someone was listening, they would think she was a complete idiot.
Fade raised an eyebrow and turned behind her, expecting to see Cass, but there was no one there. She jumped and backed up against the wall. "That's so freakishly cool." She smirked, still pinned up against the wall just in case he was to do that again.
