The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

Sara strolled down to the Dangerous room as she tugged lightly on the thick leather cover on her right arm, that hid a scar around her wrist from the first registration camps. Sam knew about the other scar Sara had because he'd pointed that one out and called her on it's past before. The row of four numbers '0623' was displayed on the back of her right shoulder blade and peaked around the straps of a form fitting, sleeveless, leather vest and top she'd chosen today. Hoping it's scuffed materiel wouldn't rip easily in the challenge training today. Sam had a number too, 602, and it went with a similarly secretive past.
Challenge training. The challenge had been set over a year ago, but Sara wondered if ti had been coming since before that when her and Sam had first met. She'd stolen his wallet, and he'd trapped her in a giant snow globe with him... and a bunch of panicked norms. It had to be the beginning and many things had changed since then. Sara had grown in speed and strength and Sam's abilities had become more diverse.
When Sara reached the danger room, she stood, feeling dwarfed by the doors for a moment. The last time she had been in there, it had been with Shin and their dogs. Shin had accidentally filled the room with an ocean of tennis balls. It was truly a dangerous room. At least tennis balls weren't on the forecast for today.
The light above the door to show if the room was in use, was off, and Sara wondered if Sam had reached the room before her. She wasn't an x-men and there for had no codes or access to the room so she was left to sit outside and ring the buzzer. "Hey Slick." Sara spoke into the small speaker in the wall. "You in there yet?"

The doors opened with a swish as directed by the shirtless iceman who just finished stretching for the training simulation that had been talking about for the better part of a year. Sara vs. Sam, the idea terrified him in an exciting kind of way. She had the speed and the strength but Sam… well Sam was going to find out what he had he had ice of that he knew. What ice could do in this situation well he was just going to have to wing it.
His toes wiggled in his old gym socks, something he had thought of in advance for the competition, if anything it would serve as a distraction to her, even he could smell the socks if he focused on them it was only fair he only had one eye. He smirked at them then looked to Sara from the inside of the Danger Room, ”Hey Kitty, you ready or what?” Sam asked as he raised his one eyebrow and laughed.
”Long time no see!” Sam said as he wrapped his arms around her in a hug when she was in arms reach, it had been a while since he had seen her, the last time he had seen her in person was during Romania and that wasn’t really a place you could catch up with an old friend. ”How have you been?” Sam asked as he took a step back and cracked his toes and then hopped once.
The large metallic doors slid open, and there was Sam, already inside... and gym socks. Sara's head tilted to the side for a moment as she glanced at his feet. She remembered him going barefoot most of the time. Then the old gym sock smell found her. Her nostrils flared, then she smirked. doing her best to ignore the distraction. Things would be better once they were moving. "Are you kidding? I've been ready."
She strolled in and the hug from Sam took her a little by surprise. Her shoulders stiffened for a second or two before she relaxed into the embrace and returned it. "I suppose we've both been kept busy around this city." She stepped back with her hands on her hips taking in the whole eye patch thing the Sam now had going. It would take Sara a long time to get used to this.
"So none of the healers that the x-men have contact with could fix... this." Sara nearly pointed then remembered it was rude. "Fix your eye I mean."

It took her a second to return the hug but he knew the reasoning behind it, she was like him same history same history, different settings and different characters even if the outcomes were different. He smirked slightly as she almost pointed at him then didn’t, ”Slate and Sebastian both said they wanted to take a look at it but it seemed that whatever lead me to Romania and into the camps had another plan when they took my eye.” Sam said not really sure how to describe it.
It wasn’t fate because he didn’t believe in that nor destiny if he believed in either of those he would have still been with T.A.T. because all he heard when he was there was about how it was his destiny to do what he did. A destiny that he had tossed to the curb only to stomp it shattering it into nothing when he left them, if that was what god had planned for him again it wasn’t a plan for him. He decided to make his own plan his on destiny, it was his story he was writing it, no one else.
”My mutation had adapted to my eye loss, and I didn’t feel like hindering my growth so,” Sam shrugged and laughed, ”One eye it is for now.” he shrugged, ”I’m content with what I have, sides… the girls love it!” Sam said as he smirked and took another few steps back, ”Now you ready?” Sam asked as he got into a fighting stance his feet slipping slightly in his dirty gym socks.
This was the reason he hated wearing just socks and no shoes. Barefoot or shoes was the only thing he was used to practicing in, socks didn’t provide the friction he was used to and it was the reason most of his attacks for the time being would be weaker than usual. ”Let’s get started!” Sam said as he activated his mutation the air in the danger room already becoming colder and colder.
Sara thought she understood what Sam was saying. at least from her point of view she thought she understood. for her own problem with her eyes, it was now a mater of pride. The pride was mixed with fear, but what power did she have over her own situation, if she asked for help? When it came to her own physical abilities as a mutant, there was so much that she didn't have control or a choice over. There was power to being able to stand alone.
”I’m content with what I have, sides… the girls love it!”
"i can imagine." Sara said. thinking at the same time that one eye certainly made her decision of what side to attack easier. Sara shifted so that her back was no longer towards the door and she had some space behind her. with Sam's powers it was best for her to not get cornered.
The fact that Sam's socked feet slipped slightly didn't escape Sara's attention. Ugh Socks. Sara's nose wrinkled. Sam sure had his moments. And when sam said to start, Sara could already feel the temperature dropping in the air. though thanks to her fur, as long as Sam didn't go sub zero on her, she should be able to maintain a proper body temperature. too law below freezing and Sara's healing abilities would start eating away at her body's reserves. Sam's mutation also meant that it was going to be best for Sara to get close and keep things close.
Sara nodded as an answer to Sam, then pushed off after him. She was low to the ground when her hand came up palm open as though she was going to shove Sam in the head on his right good eye. At the last moment she spun away and to Sam's left, hoping her hand had blocked his view enough that it was a distraction. half way through the turn, Sara spun one leg out wide attempting to catch her foot around the back of Sam's.

With a smirk and a blink Sara was already upon him, she threw a faint followed by another and followed by another then a leg sweep. Not fighting it Sam went down and slammed against the floor slamming his hands out against the ground to break his fall. A loud thud followed by the sound of crackling. Ice formed around his back and continued to grow out from where he fell. Ice quickly spread out around him and continued to extend further and further. Not only did spread quickly but it also attempted to climb anything it touched. Meaning if a certain kitty wasn’t quick enough she would have been iced to the ground. It wouldn’t be enough to keep her for long because this wasn’t Sam’s intent he wanted to have some fun out of this.
More crackling as he leaned up and placed a hand on his knee for support before he lifted himself up, ”Now now… really gonna play dirty like that going to my blind side?” Sam asked the air in the room got colder till he could close his eye and see the faded outline of the cat woman before him. Opening his right eye he fixed his gaze upon her and then focused not only on the heat vision but the real image of her. She might have gotten faster for the naked eye to see but he wondered if her heat signature would keep up with her.
Pushing himself up he got into a fighting stance as ice started to form over his feet making it easier to move around on the ice he created. Small spikes formed under his feet to improve traction, no doubt Sara would do the same with her claws. Taking a few steps back Sam waved his hands throwing a few snowballs in her direction. They were easy enough to dodge but they were only meant to distract while his mutation activated his icy mist to knee high level.
”Now! This should even the odds a bit!” Sam said as he charged forward his hands up in a guard as he charged the woman readying to tackle her to the ground.
The sound of cracking concerned Sara at first. She didn't break the Slick toy on the first exchange. Did she? `The sight of ice forming on the floor explained it. And the second the ice reached Sara's foot and started to climb she realized she needed to back up. Before the ice passed her toes, Sara's claws flicked out to smash it before it became too thick`for that subtle force to deal with. Sara took the hint and obeyed backing up to about 10 feet.
Sara shrugged at Sam. "Someone with much less gentle intentions would do the same thing." The ice extended to Sara's feet once again and she stepped onto it. If any ice was going to continue to climb her feet, she'd keep flexing her clawed toes and stepping on new ice to try to keep her feet free.
As far as walking on the ice, Sam was right. Sara did use her claws as cleats. There was only one problem. Her claws were curved back making the fronts of them much similar to ice skate blades. It meant that moving forward, Sara could still move quickly without slipping much, so long as she didn't mind not stopping. Stopping would require her to change her foot positions. Something she learned when running through a building that was on fire, with Raina.
Sam pulled a few snow balls out of the air to throw. Sara was starting to have fun with this game as the first couple were dodged easily enough. A simple side step to Sara's left. Then A duck. Sara lashed out at the next few taking some joy in the fact that she could make then crumble in the air so finely that tiny ice crystals were attaching themselves to her fur. Sara caught the next two. Right. Then Left. The one caught in her left hand, she threw directly back at Sam as he charged.
Sara only now noticed the mist that Sam had lifted to knee high and the fact that Sara's breath was starting to look more solid in the air didn't escape her either. Who needed an industrial air conditioner when Sam was around?
Sara didn't try to dodge, she'd been charged before in fights. It was much more fun to throw someone over her. As Sam got closer she intended on doing that. He reached her and Sara grabbed for his arms , using her left to block him while her right moved to smash the last snowball in his face. Doing her best to provide her own distraction as she rocked back backwards. At the last minute she was about to pull her feet up to use as a sort fo catapult when.... her feet wouldn't move. With the fun Sara was having with the snow balls, she'd forgotten to keep her feet in motion to keep from getting stuck. Her feet weren't permanently stuck, but stuck enough that it took her an extra precious second to be free. For the first time, even when fighting Kaz, her feet missed their mark.
The two of them slid across the floor for a short distance. Sara's expression of confusion and shock melted away back into the smirk. "Lucky shot." Sara moved to shove Sam off of her with her right hand on his shoulder to knock him off balance and trying to get up with the same motion.

The snow ball that was directed back at him blew up before it made contact with his face, it wasn’t a bad move on her part to attempt to use his own ability against him however he had far too much control to let something like that happen. Eyeing the fine white powder that was now on Sara as he made contact he smirked, he could have expanded them easier than creating a beam of ice towards her but he did nothing as he tackled her.
Laughing as she lifted him readying a throw and then falling on her arise Sam smirked as he was on top of her. ”Slippery?” Sam mocked as she attempted to roll him off going with the direction of her push Sam rotated and then slid on his own creation. The mist continued to rise slower and slower all the while he attempted to distract Sara. Another snow ball here and one there then he charged again this time instead of charging her head on Sam dove and iced over his back side so he could attempt to sweep her legs out from under her.
He was hidden now in the mist and unless Sara moved he was moving directly at where she was standing moments before. As he got closer and closer to the location the temperature dropped another few degrees as the mist started to rise more and more making it more and more difficult to see. Closing his right eye and focusing the best he could on his new ability he felt for the heat that all living things emitted and with the temperature as it was now… Sara was standing out like a sore thumb.
By the time that Sara noticed the mist, there was really nothing she could do about it. There was nothing she could do about it anyways other than try to open up her 6th sense. An ability that she had been struggling with for over a year. The problem was that, even when she closed her eyes, what she could see was still distracting. She was never really closing her sense of sight. Sara was already trying to blink the change into happening when she was shoving Sam off of her.
”Slippery?”
"Only a little, Slick."
Sam rolled one way and she rolled the other. Then Sam continued throwing snow balls at her. Again these were easy enough to dodge. Should this be a real life scenario, Sara would be driving herself forward to knock out the experimentalist. Knocking out mutants that can create mists normally stop mists from rising. But that wasn't the point of the exercise. Her and Sam were only testing each other here. Yes there was a competition, but this was an exercise as well.
Sam was fading away in his mist as his snow balls continued to zoom in. Dodging them wasn't difficult at all even as the distance that she had as a warning that they were there was shortening. On the fourth snow ball that was thrown, Sara was dodging it easily. Then at the last second she deliberately swerved to put her face in it's path. This must have looked very odd to Sam but there was a reason for it. She had grown impatient with trying to open up her 6th sense by simple willing it. Attacks to the eyes were all that she could use so far to open up the sense of movement in her head.
Instantly Sara's eyes squeezed shut and she shook her head instinctively. Her eyes wished to blink away the snow but her pupils had shrunk to nothing more than paper thin slits. The incoming information from her 6th sense was instantaneous and disorienting. Plums of little ribbons acting like a 3D road map in her mind, showed up around her face telling her where every single hair on her head was moving as she shook the ice free. Every step that her and Sam had taken so far in the danger room was mapped out in her mind and if she let the map continue outside the doors, she could trace her own step, and the steps intersected by other people steps and those steps intersected by yet more students, and so one and so on, and.... Sam was on the move again.
Sara pulled her focus back to what was happening close to her. Sort of the way a camera focuses on an object. The object is in focus but all things around that object are fuzzy.
Sara misjudged Sam's speed as she was still disoriented and as he came closer to try to sweep her legs out from under her, she tried pouncing. Since she was already moving forward the leg sweep partially worked, though Sara recovered in the air with a quick tumble. The split second that her feet touched the ground, the twisted so that the hooks on her feet would dig into the ice, and she went right back after Sam. Aiming higher on the ribbons of movement this time. "You might want to ice the rest of the way up." Sara said the words in a moc, but they were an actual suggestion. She was clumsier still without real eye sight.
In the Tackle, Sara was aiming to grab Sam's left arm with her right. If all went well, Sara was intending to roll, pulling Sam with her, and preform an appropriate toss using her feet. Much like she'd attempted to do a moment ago.

It seemed she wasn’t as blind as he could have hoped with all the fog like mist rising around them. He felt the furry arm wrap around him and pull him into a roll. Without much hesitation Sam did as was suggested however the point of impact he took when Sara launched him he felt the wind get knocked out of him. ”Catapult…. Punny…” Sam said as he covered the rest of his body in ice while trying to catch his breath all in mid air.
He was sailing now and with his eyes closed there wasn’t much he could do to brace for impact. He curled his forearms in front of his face and fell. Curled up into a little ball covered in ice Sam rolled and rolled till he was dizzy and disoriented. Instinctively his eyes opened and he saw nothing but mist in front of him. At this point in the game it might have been better to drop the mist but… the sweep did work and he was in need of practicing with his heat sensory.
Closing his eyes and sitting on the ground Sam iced thickened the layer of ice around him. If she did suggest he should do it he had a feeling things would be a little rough if he didn’t activate his armor. The only problem with his heat sensory the depth perception wasn’t what he was entirely used to yet which meant he couldn’t tell how far she was from him. Ten to fifteen feet he could tell that much she was there clear as day in front of him but was she ten feet or fifteen? It’s funny when they were closer he could tell how far he was from them but when they were out of arms reach it was always a little more difficult to tell.
Another question that popped into his head was how the hell she knew he was coming? She was fast enough to react when his leg touched hers but that wasn’t it. There was another explanation her sense of smell? Suddenly he remembered why he wore the socks in the first place! Reaching down and pulling them off through the ice armor Sam picked them up and formed two ice clones near him each having the sock near the heart of the golem both of which were vented and could be smelled if they were close enough.
Sam grinned and sent them after Sara both were the same height and build than him hell if she could see them coming they would even look like Sam, yep this was his doppelganger technique he came up with moments before he had met her in the danger room. One running for a tackle high and a tackle low Sam led up the rear and followed the Golems forward to help and try to pin the cat woman.
Sara was able to track the movement of Sam as his form spun and rolled to a stop on his own ice. The tangle of ribbons that represented every path of travel in the 3D map that made up Sara's 6th sense, separated into something more recognizable as Sam stopped tumbling. Then there was confusion again. Sara understood that Sam must have made a pair of his ice golems, though she couldn't admire his likeness in them. The problem came that Sam's socks were in them. Both the smell and the fact that their ribbons of the path that they had taken in her head, came from the same place where she knew Sam had sat.
Sara staggered a couple of steps back. Her footing wasn't as sure as usual seeing as since the ground didn't move the only way Sara couldn't sense it other than with touch. She only knew where it was where someone or something else, had already moved across it.
All three of them were coming and Sara was doing her best to try to untangle the different paths and what their former placement meant. She was 90% sure that the one coming at her first for the higher tackle wasn't Sam. The new smells freshness hadn't hit her yet from the oncoming gym sock clone. The other two..... she really wasn't sure about.
Sara could have dodged the two tackles, but all the sudden movement that was going on was distracting. She wasn't sure where was safe to step. She'd hesitated too long. Besides. What fun would dodging be?
The first clone to come close, that Sara was sure was a clone was going for the higher tackle. Sara's left hand hit with her claws out. She sank her claws into the ice and spun with the movement to toss the golem away, though in the process her strike might have removed part of it's side. (Uhg gym sock smell.) Sara's nose wrinkled as she turned back the other way this time meeting the next attacker with the point of her elbow. Golem? Sara breathed in. Still not sure as it still carried his smell and the movement came from where Sam had been.
None the less Sara was still knocked off balance on her feet. She'd gone down to one knee and elbow and started to shove her way back to her feet when the third was reaching her.

”Gotcha!” Sam said as his arms wrapped around Sara, her footing not as good as it was once before. He reaction time slowed for some reason he couldn’t see but what he could see was the image of her body heat clear as day in front of him. Once the golems were out of the way doing what they needed to be done Sam wrapped his arms around Sara tightly one over her left side while the other was under her right arm. It was a lock and this one would hold until she gave up or somehow managed to escape the rest of the hold Sam was about to put on her.
Contacting the ice under them that covered the floor three cylinders shot up from the ground one where Sam’s waist connected with Sara’s and then two attempting to lash out and then wrap around Sara’s legs. If all went well she would be pinned and this would end the session they had been planning for a while.
His next attention was focused on the fog around them, which he soon dissipated so he could get a better look at the cat woman. ”Who rocks!?!” Sam asked as one of the uninjured golems walked closer then shattered near her dropping the sock a few inches from her head. ”Give up yet?”
(OOC: Mist is now gone and one broken clone remains, the floor is still iced over so it should still be rather cold! Let me know if I need to change anything!)
Sara felt Sam make contact with her. The real Sam. Sara felt the ice form around her and she didn't fight it. Letting her shoulders droop into a relaxed pose. Her right hand was the only one that had managed to be free and that's all that she really needed as her head dropped down. Silently analyzing what she had just witnessed with her hair having fallen over her eyes. Not that her hair was blocking the vision she had of the mist. She still couldn't see. Sara hadn't figured out how to turn the sixth sense off. At least not yet.
”Who rocks!?!”
”Give up yet?”
"Nope." Sara lifted her head for a moment so that her hair feel away from her eyes. If Sam could see her yet while she was down on the floor, he'd see that her pupils were still so thing that the slits looked like they weren't even there. Just the amber colored iris. She braced against the ice restraints on her legs, breaking through the one that encircled her left arm and her upper body, then sitting up so fast she seemed to be taking off, she rammed the tips of both sets of claws in her hands into the rounds of ice around her legs. Shattering them when she pulled up. She was on her feet in the next second. "This isn't even the end of round one."
Being that Sara and Sam had just stepped on the ground between them, Sara could sense where it was much easier. Sara aimed two open palmed strikes for Sam's chest, hoping that he was still armored up. the right hand, then the left hand. They were not complete full force and open so as to not crack the ice. They were meant more to push him back. The idea being that if Sam slid across the floor then his movement in Sara's sixth sense showed her that the floor was there to step on. For this reason, having Sam on the run, or forcing him to back up, was much more preferable to attempt.
Sara kept the distance between her and Sam even, then swiftly, but evenly stepped on her left foot, and spun her right leg around like a whip aimed for his shoulder. This kick wasn't completely full force either. Though it deffinitly wouldn't be light if it connected. Exactly how much of a warning did Sam need to defend himself when someone like Sara was coming after him? Sara wondered.

Her eyes were blank… he didn’t know how describe what he saw but there was no iris no indication of anything going in the eyes when he looked into them. He blinked with his one eye and frowned slightly when she gave him an answer. It appeared that she was still alive still ready to fight but why were her eyes the way they were? A question for later perhaps now he had to focus on beating her.
Before he knew it he was stumbling on his feet the restraints from before that were once pinning Sara were no more. She was on her feet and he felt two strikes at once on his chest. Palms he was guessing because they didn’t have the impact he was used to when he felt a punch. Looking down he confirmed it however he didn’t have time to respond. She was fast… too fast for his liking.
Getting pushed back Sam went down onto one knee after he was thrown back a dozen feet or so the ice under his feet making it easier to slide around only helping him put the distance between them. However once he looked up he saw her foot coming down towards him, roundhouse kick. Easy enough to call, he had seen enough of those in his day and threw even more of them. Two ways he could do this seeing as sidestepping was out of the question. He could merge with the kick getting thrown to the side or he could cancel out the kick with another force.
Block it is! As the kick spun around Sam focused on the air around his armor creating a pair of hands to catch the kick when it hit its target. Bracing for impact Sam felt the armor push against his skin causing him to be pushed in the process. Ice hands feeling the target in the palm of their hands the fingers made of ice closed around their target quickly like a Venus flytrap. There they held onto the leg till Sam was ready for a counterattack or till Sara was ready to throw another strike.
Sam wasn't going to have to wait long for Sara's next strike. She'd analyzed the movements that seemed to come out of no where. Much the way things looked when Sam had made his ice golems. Attacking the ice restraint out right again, with herself so close to Sam, was not only going to leave her open, but leave her susceptible to getting another limb trapped. Staying on the fast track with her attack was probably her best plan of action.
So Sara was about to pull something risky. A kick with her other leg. Most of the time, you wouldn't want to sacrifice your footing, and with the movement that Sara had planned to preform, she did risk injuring her own joints in her knee if it didn't work, but she healed. If she failed the pain wouldn't be for long.
Using the force that went into her foot to attack Sam with her right leg, She instantly pushed off against his block. Her other foot left the ground, poised under her as she spun around the other way. Shoulders first, hips, then tail, making it so there was a sort of whip action as she moved her right arm down in order to catch herself and keep her upper body from hitting the ground. Her foot followed her tail at an up ward angle that would hopefully knock Sam off of his feet.
If the kick worked, Sara planned on slamming her Iced and trapped foot into the ground to try to break it free. If the kick didn't work.... Well things were already getting interesting.
