The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

Kai’s eyes widened. He hadn’t realized how dangerous it could be to lose control of mutant powers. “Woah! Stuff has fallen on you before? That must be scary.” Though plants had knocked him around before- on accident of course, so he knew that sometimes things like that just happened.
The laptop story was kind of funny, but he tried not to laugh. He didn’t want to make her even more shy about sharing. “So did the lap top ever come back?” He hope that was a ‘yes’ otherwise she had a really expensive mutation to try to keep up with.
He tried to think back. “I don’t know if my powers really get away like that. I mean, stuff has happened without me trying to make it happen, but nothing as intense as that.” I really hope that wasn’t a jynx…

"it did, but im going to need a new one, i pretty much destroyed it. Most laptops are not made for a thirty foot drop" she said though she knew it was less then that, not that it mattered much at that point. "When i first discovered my powers me and my mom were getting robbed and i acidently flung a knife at the man, thankfully i missed" she said not liking the idea she had been violent at all.
"that is a good thing, less to worry about, and im sure you have plenty just with work" she said honestly. "but yea when i first got to New york city my powers acidently spilled coffee on a man who got mad at me, he was not happy" she said with a bit of a sigh. As usual she had run away from the situation because she had gotten scared, but luckily she had met a number of good people while doing so and all of which lived at the mansion. "weird being around so many mutants here" she said honestly.
Kai shrugged. “It’s not so bad when you like your work. It seems more like play than anything else. And maybe you could get a collection going or something to raise funds for a new laptop? Anyway, I’m sure the other mutants around here understand. I just met Raina and she seems really nice.”
Thinking of all they’d talked about, he determined that it was in their best interest to keep moving, get outside and enjoy the day. “In any case, do you want to go for a walk? I’ll just clean up these dishes quick and then we’ll go exploring!” He gathered the dirty plates and utensils, humming happily.

"Oh i could not impose on anyone like that" she said sheepishly. She would not want to put such a burden on others with something so trivial though she had loved her laptop, she was glad the hard drive could be saved at the least. It had not been a terrible expensive lap top anyway. "Yea most people around here seem really nice" she agreed, it was nice that for the most part the place was peaceful.
" sound's like fun" she said to kai with a smile. In truth she was unsure what they could really explore in the place, she had been to most of it at one point or another. She was about to protest Kai getting the dished but he was much to fast for her to even say anything or use her powers and so she kept quite on it and just stood up and stretched a bit. Still a walk with this kind guy, did sound rather fun she thought to herself, after all she had nothing else to do.
He felt an unparalleled sense of satisfaction being able to grab the dishes and deftly depositing them into the handy dishwasher. He liked to help out from time to time, and since she had made breakfast, it was his duty to clean. Plus moder accomodations meant that he barely had to work to get the dishes clean again.
Shana stood and stretched behind him and he considered their situation for a moment. "Hmm.. You live here, so there probably isn't much new and exciting around... I guess this will be more of a walk than an adventure... Unless something exciting happens." He kind of hoped that something exciting would happen. But not so exciting that it made Shana run and hide again. Cheerfully he strode over to the door, holding it open for her.

"We could go somewhere if you like" she said evenly. It was true living here, even like she did meant she knew the place pretty well and it would not be much exploration at all. "Not much exciting happens other then me nearly wounding people with power issues" she said shaking her head. She had done so several times since she had come to the mansion. She walked out the door as he held it open for her, something she really was not used to.
Looking around she saw that people had started to get up in the time she had been eating and talking with Kai. She she did her best to pay them no mind. "So where do you wnat to go?" she asked looking back at him, unsure where they should even go. He was the guest so he should decided shana decided finnaly, really just not wanting to choose herself.
Where should we go? Kai searched his brain for a suitable destination. The library? No, that’s kind of lame. What about just outside? Maybe Shana will chose- but then she dashed his hopes.
>>”So where do you want to go?”
“Maybe…” he heard voices and other signs of life outside, “oh! Do you want to meet up with the other students and do something. There’s a basketball court, right?” Kai imagined the two of them playing basketball and abruptly changed his mind. “Never mind, actually. Let’s just go outside.” He finally decided. “Maybe I can show you some of the things I can do with my powers, since you got to show off yours. What do ya say?”

Shana was about to mention she was not very athletic when Kai himself decided it likely would not be a good idea. She had no idea hoe well kai could play, but she did not even know the rules, and had no idea when she last watched a game of it. "That sound's like fun, i would love to see more of your powers" she said with an excited smile. She had liked seeing kai make the orange that he gave her and figured he could do way more amazing things outside near all the plants.
She walked out to a clearing in the yard where she though kai would have plenty of room, to show off his powers to her. She was glad they decided to do this rather then try and play sports or meet up with other students she did not know. Putting her long blue hair in a quick pony tail she looked to Kai to see what he would do with his powers. With his powers, Shana wonderd if one day he could cure thing's like world hunger or something, his power seemed very useful to the world as a whole.
Kai bounced along behind Shana as she expertly guided them out of the mansion and into the grounds. She stopped in the middle of the lawn and turned around, expectantly.
Kai looked around for things to work with, deciding at once against the grass. It wasn’t quite right for what he was planning. He looked with both kinds of vision, regular and plant-y. It was kind of like those heat-reading things, except plants showed up as different colors, rather than heat. The grass roots led him to some weeds, but they weren’t quite right either. There! A couple of dozen feet away stood a lone tree. It had a glorious crown of leaves propped up by a dozen or so thick branches. Perfect!
“Alright,” he chewed his lip, “watch that tree. And don’t be afraid.”
He didn’t want to mess with the tree’s natural growth, as she was already doing very well. Instead, he settled to make a spectacle. The tree was happy to comply with his wishes, she loooved attention. Her branches began to move under his direction, almost as though there was a strange wind around.
Okay, move that branch this way. And that one that way, a little lower. Now bend. Beautiful.
Within a matter of a minutes he had sculpted a bunny rabbit without even once having to cut or harm the tree.

She followed kai around as he looked at the grass and some weeds and then finnaly a tree. Shana turned to look at the tree wondering what the boy was planning to do with the tree. She was very curious about it and wonderd if she could show him anything nearly as glorious, she highly doubted it. Her own powers could not do mcuh other then move things around.
She watched as the tree moved an awe and began to from somthing she could not make out right away. She watched as the branches moved without much complaint a sif the tree were alive like a person, it was hard to imagine for her for any tree to be like that, she had to wonder what the process wa slike for him to alter the tree and if it was diffrent then the orange.
"wow" she said looking at the bunny rabbit shape kai had made. It was amazing and shana had to walk up to the tree, and run a hand across it's bark if only to make sure the tree was real and solid. She knew kai's power but it was still amzing that he could alter the tree in such a beautiful way. "Your amazing" she said smiling as she looked back at kai truely feeling the boy had a lot of talent with his powers and she right away figured he could be an artist if he wnated to be.
Kai blushed. He felt nothing but joy in working with plants and having that work be appreciated by someone else. “Thanks, I’ve never really tried anything like that before. I’ve asked trees to move their branches, but never tried to sculpt with them. It’s kind of a neat effect, don’t you think?”
Now that the branches twined elegantly around each other, he had a choice. He could leave them that way and the tree would continue to grow as a giant bunny rabbit tree, or he could allow it to go back to its natural state. He knew that was the best way for her to get all the sunlight she needed, and for her crown to be supported by her roots. He didn’t want any strange strain anywhere that could lead to her falling over in a wind storm down the road.
Mind made up, he closed his eyes and untied the tree-knot he’d made. When he was done, he swayed a little bit with exhaustion. “Well, that took a lot more out of me than I thought it would. I’m so glad that you enjoyed the show, though. It’s not often that I get to do creative things like that or have an audience.”
There was a thought, an audience. “Have you ever thought of performing in front of people? I’m sure with your powers there would be a lot you could do. Like real magic shows or something.”

"Really?" she asked amazed, the skill at which he seemed to do the task, was more then impressive. If he had not told her so, she would ahve figured he ahd been doing this for some time. Certainly such an act could not be easy, but Kai did not seem the type to lie either. "Wow......you really never did that before?" she asked assuming he was telling the truth but much to amazed not to ask anyway. One thing was Sure Kai, had a lot of talent.
"Im not good with people" she said almost right away the response almost automatic by now, though she regretted it as soon as the word's left her lips. She was suppose to be more social was she not? Still it was so hard to even think of not messing up or being revealed around so many people. "I don't think im ready for that kind of thing.....and im not all that skilled" she said again lementing her words, as she admonished herself to Kai.
trying to change the subject back to Kai, Shana looked a bit flusterd before asking another question. "Do the tree's talk?" she asked tilting her head and scratching the back of her enck a bit.
Involuntarily Kai heaved a great sigh. Man, was he ever tired? “Mind if we sit under the tree in the shade for a little while?” he asked, “I hate to admit it, but I’m not used to using my powers this much at one time. It takes a lot out of you!”
He half waited for an answer, then started staggering towards the tree. Shade was good. And sitting. Sitting would also be good.
“Talking? They kind of do, but not really in the same way that we do, obviously. Not with sound. Sometimes in my head, though. Trees are really calm, and reserved mostly. Other plants chatter a lot more.” He yawned. “Like weeds. They refuse to shut up.” He yawned again and his eyes slowly fluttered and closed.
