The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

"Nice to meet you Kesuk. Yes, I'm Iris." She shook his hand, a bit of an awkward action as she tried to keep from dropping Ebony.
She smiled at his attentiveness to Nika. The pair were as different as night and day, but they just seemed to match. In Iris' mind, it just proved that mutants were not so different from humans after all.
Then Nika showed her battle scars. Iris had seen the results of enough pit fights to guess at how Nika got the scar on her neck. Iris' expression ran the gambit from surprise and upset to anger. "Nika, that's awful!! Who could do such a thing?" The vengeful side of her briefly showed through as she dryly remarked, "I hope whoever it was got the same back." Then she flushed, realizing how cold that sounded. She shook her head in enthusiastic agreement with what Kesuk told her.
"So Iris, i was wondering what did you mean by water hands earlier?"
"Well, it's one...um...facet of my mutation. At times I can manipulate liquids. Last time Eb got stuck in the bathroom, I ended up having use the sink water like hands, to pull her out. She wasn't too happy with me at the time." That was an understatement, and she had the scar to prove it.
"So how long have you both been here?" she asked, slightly changing the subject.
The look on Nika's face dropped a little when Iris responded to seeing her scars. "It was my adopted father. He used to bet on me in pit fights against grown men and dogs."
She rubbed her neck but not because it hurt. She rubbed it while remembering the pain. "I don't know what happened to him after I escaped and that's why I wear my collar all the time." Her mood suddenly changed as if a switch had been flicked in her head. "Besides, it looks so dang cute on me," she said in a very cheerful and somewhat bubbly voice.
Iris explained what she meant by water hands and Nika got the same feeling she was sure that Ebony had felt. "I wouldn't be too happy either Iris." Nika smiled playfully at the other girl. "Mind if I ask what else you can do?"
While she waited for Iris to respond she asnwered Iris' question. "I just got here this morning. What about yourself?"
Kesuk, still standing at Nika's side, listened attentivley to Iris and about her mutatation and how Ebony reacted. Then Nika started to talk and Kesuk listened again and when she said how cute it looked on her. " It does look cute on you." he said and smiled. He amazed how Nika could have such a bad childhood and still turn out so good and how she never stays sad and brings the best out of things. Iris then asked how long had he been here. " I just got here yesterday morning, and how about you? How long have you been here?" He asked

Iris shook her head and smiled. "You're a good one, Nika.
"Actually, I've only been here a little over a week. I'm not a permanent resident though. Just staying for a short time to, hopefully, learn a bit of control."
She paused, thinking how best to answer their second question. "Well, my mutation is...complicated. Depending on...circumstances, I can either manipulate liquids, create and manipulate ice, and see in either darkness or bright light." She paused, deciding not to mention the fifth power, since she really didn't understand it yet, herself. "Some of the mutation give me a bit of an...identity crisis." She smiled and shrugged a bit. "Like I said, complicated.
"So, how 'bout you two? How do your mutations work?"
"Thank you Iris. I try to be a good one." She looked at both Iris and Kesuk as she finished her sentence with a smile. She then listened to Iris talk a little bit about her abilities.
"Hey you and Kesuk might work good on a team." Nika thought of how useful Kesuk's rain control might be with Iris water control.
"Well, other than my physical appearance I also have supercharged adrenaline that makes me super strong and super fast, but when it wears off I'm really drained." She suddenly started giggling. "It makes me wanna take a cat nap."

Iris chuckled at the 'cat nap' pun. She admired Nika's sense of humor. She seemed to have an easy-going personality; quite an accomplishment considering her background.
"That's a pretty neat ability. Remind me to stay on your good side," she remarked with a wink. Then she turned to Kesuk, to hear his mutation. As an afterthought, she added, "Have either of you tried out the Danger Room yet?"
Hearing Iris lacugh at Nika's pun made the cat girl smile in return. She liked making people smile and laugh if possible. She's a very light hearted girl and even though her past is bitter and dark she prefers to be on the light side of things when possible.
"I'm sure you won't have any trouble being on my good side Iris. You seem like a cool person." Nika looked at Kesuk for a moment and smiled at him for a moment.
"What's the danger room?" She tilted her head in a curious look at Iris.

Jason finished his conversation with Raphael and entered the house. Jason was kind of tired and began to look where the bedrooms was so he could crash. Jason slipped his Ipod in his ears and began walking through out the house. A few people in the house gave Jason the new guy look but he was use to that, but he was not use to people like him just sitting around the house having what looked to be a good time. Jason shook his head he never seen anything like this. Jason was starring at a girl that had resembled of a cat.
“Umm excuse me… I just arrived here. And I’m kind of lost. Could you please tell me where the male rooms are.” Jason said trying not to get caught starring. Hmm is this how people looked at him when they seen something they didn’t understand he thought to him self.

"The Danger Room is a simulator room, a place to practice control of your mutation. It can be intense at times, but its worth the experience."
Iris turned as yet another new guy came up behind her. Black hair, brown eyes, and again a bit taller than she was. <"This is going to take some getting used to,"> she thought to herself. She smiled a welcome.
"Welcome to the mansion. No worries. It's easy to get lost around here." Experience talking there. "Guys are up the stair and to the left." She supressed a giggle at his expression when he saw Nika. That's probably what Iris had looked like a few minutes ago.
"Oh can we go check it out? That Danger Room sounds interesting."
Nika heard a new voice and turned to see another boy. She smiled at him seeing his reaction to her looks. "Don't worry I won't bite." She then listened to Iris give directions to the male rooms.

Iris nodded at Nika's request. "Sure. Chip set it up where I have some help with the programs now. Let me just drop Eb off first." She turned to the new guy. "I can show you the rooms on my way, if you'd like." She headed toward the stairs.

Umm…ahh…tssh…ok I guess that would work.” Jason replied trying to keep from being rude starring at this cat like woman. “Everyone around here seems so happy. Are they like on some kind of drugs?” Jason said to himself under his breath hoping that nobody heard him. Trying quickly to cover his tracks " So What does people do for fun around here?" He asked with one quick breath
Kesuk was about to talk about his mutation to Iris but a boy walked in, so Kesuk stopped. He was going to tell the boy where the male dorms were but the girls were on top of it, and answered him quickly.
" Yah the danger room sounds really cool. We should go soon." As he looked down at Nika and smiled at her too. " oh but to answer your question Iris, I can control the weather but for now only rain and sleet." Then he turned to the new guy " We are about to go to the Danger Room i guess, if you want to join.

Jason kind of laughed. “I don’t know if I’m trying to go to war with anybody. But I guess it wouldn’t hurt to see what else this place has got to offer.” Jason said with a smile on his face well he looked at the woman that didn’t look to much like a cat. “Oh and by the way I’m Jason.” He said extending his hand out to greet them.
