The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

Daria eyed the switch curiously. She had her messenger bag swung across her chest decorated with pins shouting sarcastic phrases. "well its afternoon, we could check to see if she's eating. "
Daria padded her sides to listen for the jingling of her car keys. Hearing the familiar sound she turned to Mike. "whats with the bag?" she asked casually.
"Just being ready for things if we go see Kage." He unzipped it and pulled out two escrima bastons far enough to be seen, then put them back inside. Unlike the ones he had used earlier, these were hardwood, much too dangerous to be used in sparring.

Daria hadn't anticipated any agressiveness on Kage. She wanted so hard to believe it was just a misunderstanding. She wanted so hard to believe that good side of him, that side deep down in him, was able to breathe and have a chance at dominating Kage. But that was just her. Mike had the right idea, she knew from experience it was foolish to go to the enemy's territory without protection. She didn't need weapoons of course but she was ready if there was to be a fight.
"Yep, cafeteria." she answered and began to leave the living room.

Daria sat heavily on the arm chair near the couch removing her sweater and messenger bag. She pulled her legs up to the chair and listened to the voices of the laughing and talking children who were hanging out in the livingroom. It wasn't crowded but people walked in and out; busy and trying to make the most of the dreary day.
Mike sat down next to her. THere was no chair, so he just hovered in midair. "You okay?" he asked. She looked a little worn... but then again, he probably did too.

"I am if you are." she answered watching him hover. She smiled. "Okay, this is so weird and I'm gonna sound like the little kids who were outside but I have to try this. Can you lift me up?"
"Anything for the lady," Mike said with a grin. Daria just floated up in the air, drifting a bit, until she was a foot lower than the ceiling. Mike floated up to the same level.

The mansion's main livingroom was it's biggest and below the furniture and remaining students looked small. Daria stretched out her legs letting them hand along with her tail. She stood up and felt the "nothingness" around her. She thought that she would love to feel like this all the time. As if she were untouchable, and she told this to Mike. "I used to ask people what kind of super power they'd want if they could have one. And everyone picked flight. I always wondered why..." she smiled slightly to herself, her emerald eyes sparkling.
Mike grinned as he 'stood up' and walked on air over to her. The other students were watching them and giggling, but he knew that more than a few of them were jealous. "It's too bad that it had to start raining, we could go for a real fly."
"Aww... come on, so the kids aren't allowed to be jealous of the pretty lady?" he teased as they floated slowly back toward the floor. They'd drifted with the general drafts in the room, but she floated back so that she was centered over her chair again.

Daria put her feet firmly on the ground as if to convince herself she really had floor beneath her. She kept her head downward but looked upward at the crowd that was dispersing. A group of girls, about five of them, were whispering and smiling at Mike trying to get his attention and one of them even had the nerve to cast Daria a spiteful look.
She ran a hand through her braids to get them away from her face as she narrowed her eyes at the girl and flashed her fangs. The group rolled their eyes and headed towards the door, conspicuosly casting looks in Mike's direction. "Jealous indeed" Daria mumbled, then turned to grin at Mike "You're kind of popular aren't you?"
"Only behind my back. I try to avoid those ones, they just want bragging rights. 'Well, guess what MY guy can do! He does this and that! I'm so shallow, look at my hair!'" Mike made his voice high as he mocked those girls. He tapped his head. "One of the perks of telepathy, it helps you screen out prospective dates before you waste a lot of money you'll regret."
