The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

"A telepath my uncle knew tried to bring me out of a catatonic state once." Tessa says, "Gave her the mother of all headaches. She said that being in my head was like trying to download the entirety of the internet into her brain."
Tessa smiles with an evil grin, "I remember everything I've ever seen, heard, read, or sensed in any way. Not a single detail escapes my attention. The average person can has a short term memory that can handle 7 things at a single time, mine handles everything all at once. Imagine experiencing that. It's like trying to put the Library of Congress onto a floppy disk."
*tricity was passing through the living room when a powerful thought hit her in the head and she grabbed the wall for balance.* "Xavier? What's going on??" *the professor spoke to her mentally.* "Cassiel and Mercury are dealing their own justice in New York. You need to get there quickly. Bring someone if you can...Be careful Delilah." *after obtaining the address, tricity quickly left with kage hunter who she grabbed in the hallway because he was the closest to her.*

*Reflecto entered the room, and walked to the TV, and sighed. He picked it up off the stand, and started to turn it round. After dropping it a few times, rather noisily, he placed it back on the stand with a thump, facing the wall. He sat down on the sofa, smiling innocently, and stared at the back of the TV.*
*as tricity came into the living room, a lot of the children were yelling and complaining. she pushed her way through the crowd and saw reflecto sitting on the couch, smiling toward the television. her gaze followed to where he was looking and saw the television.* "Aw, shit..." *she muttered under her breath as she sat down on the couch next to reflecto.* "EVERYONE OUT!" *tricity heard a few people suck their teeth and groan as they left, but she rolled her eyes and looked at reflecto while he stared straight ahead.* "Hi honey, what happened?"

Cartoons were just repeats, and I forgot the back of the TV so I thought I'd catch up. The other students looked at me funny...must have seen it before.
"Oh.." *tricity was totally confused.* "Ok...well, here's the thing...you can't drop the TV. It's really really fragile. See look, it's broken now. How am I going to use my powers to change the channels now?" *tricity teased smiling.*

I wouldn't have dropped it if they hadn't tried to stop me turning it round... *He looked through the door, where the crowd of kids had once again conformed.*
