The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

"Yeah sure thing. I'd be happy to show you where her room is. I don't know if she'll be there though." Nika lead the way to Iris' room and knocked on the door for Neena. While they waited for a response the cat girl turned back to Neena.
"Umm...so you really think you can help me learn more control?"

Neena followed Nika down the hall, making a mental note of which room she paused and knocked at.
"Umm...so you really think you can help me learn more control?"
Neena smiled at the girl. "Well, I don't see why not. How much more is there to your mutation besides the physical appearance? Any type of mental things, like telepathy or empathy?" She was guessing strength was part of it, if Nika was part of the damage-causers, but she didn't want to assume.
When no one answered the door, Neena spared a momentary peek inside. There was a form laying on the bed. She continued to watch just long enough to be sure the girl was breathing, then blinked her vision back to normal.
"I think I'll just come back a bit later," she told Nika and turned back down the hall. "She may be sleeping, or something. It seems to have been a rough day 'round here. So then, about your powers?"

There was a smile on Nika's face when Neena told her she could help the cat girl gain more control. "Well, yeah there's more than my appearance. You know how when you get scared or really angry or even if something hurts you feel an adrenaline rush? Well, mine is supercharged. I get super strong and super fast." Nika frowned a bit as she continued. "The only bad part is if I go too long then when I come down from being supercharged I'm exhausted and I've even blacked out before. That's why I want to learn more control." The young girl looked at Neena with wishful hope.

"Hmm.... That must be something to feel..." Neena thought aloud. Adrenaline was one of many facets of fear that she had never felt in her life, so she couldn't truly say she understood what Nika felt. But she had often seen the effects of it. A supercharged rush would be interesting to see, indeed.
"The only bad part is if I go too long then when I come down from being supercharged I'm exhausted and I've even blacked out before. That's why I want to learn more control."
Neena nodded. "I can understand that. Any emotion-driven mutation can be exhausting on the downswing." She paused and pushed her glasses onto her hair again, and gave Nika a gentle smile. Emotion will always take more out of you than physical exhertion, and take longer to replenish itself. At least, that's always been my opinion. Unless you're heart is made of stone, an emotion-driven battle will leave you drained, somehow.
"Still, I think maybe a bit of endurance training might help out in the long run. Make it so when you do come down, it won't be such a shock to your body. How's that sound?"

Nika listened intently to Neena's words. She was liking the woman more and more and she was also feeling that she jsut might be a very good teacher. "Yeah my last umm...battle was very emotional both parties involved, but the endurance training sounds good. I haven't really ahd to do much endurance training when I used to pit fight." Nika spoke of her dark and hateful past with such cheeryness in her voice as she was only speaking of a specific part of her past and not the whole thing.

"Sounds like a plan then, though I've got to warn you, endurance exercises are fairly dull and repetative.... Wait a second. Did you say 'pit fighting'?"
Nika cheefulness had thrown her for a moment, but this time the expression on Neena's face was obviously angry. "What moron had you pit fighting? And against what?"

Nika thought she had slipped her past passed Neenda but the woman caught it after a moment. Nika somehow managed to keep her cheerful demeanor as she answered Neena's questions.
"Yeah, I used to pit fight against humans as well as animals like dogs. It was all done by my adopted father cause he I knew he could make money off me that way." The whole time Nika spoke she bobbed her head from side to side as if listening to one of her rave tunes on invisible headphones.
"I got beat up pretty good a few times. Even almost died once." Nika unbuckled her collar and showed Neena her wicked scar across her neck as well as the one on her side. "But I'm tough and I showed them. So now I'm here." The cat girl put her collar back on and looked tot he woman with purely innocent eyes as if all she had spoke of was far from the true evil that it was.

Neena muttered something under her breath in Swahili, her native tongue, then rolled her eyes. She worked her jaw for a moment before being able to say in English, "I'm glad you're here now."
Shaking her head, her expression took on a friendlier tone. "Well, like I said, endurance exercises can be pretty boring. Have you ever played tennis? Or Wall Ball?"

"No I've never played either of those." In fact Nika hadn't played any sports before. The only thing she knew was how to play catch. She was excellent at doing that.

(OOC: Going to leave this open, so you can decide when (timewise) you want to set the session.)
"Well, then, now's the perfect time to learn," Neena replied happily. "Tell you what? Let me dump my bags in an empty room, then I'll meet you in the Danger Room, and we'll see what we can get set up. Sound like a plan?"

"Yeah that sounds great. I'll see you there." Nika smiled and waved as she walked away from Neena. What was this woman going to have Nika do in her training session? The cat girl didn't know but she wanted to find out.
