The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

"A priceless painting you say? I wonder where we could find one of those. Although if we do run across one, I will definitely hold you to that end of the bargain. One massage for one painting.
Tris laughed and tossed her red hair away from her face, trying for an impression of sultry, sassy, sexy-ness in the smile she presented to Aleksei. "It's a deal." She promised him smoothly.
Aleksei then laughed at her suggestion that he give her her clothes back, but agreed in the end with reasonable grace. Well she had just uncuffed him after all, and it always did well to curry favor with a good Samaritan with the keys to your bonds.... and the ability to have you in irons again the second she chose.
"As much as it pains me, I shall return the clothes to you. If you give me a moment, I might even return your corset. After all, it might be nice to see if you look better in it than me. I, for one, think you should wear it to the Louvre."
Tris returned Aleksei's wink with one of her own and a low and hearty chuckle to accompany it. The laughter as much for his conversation comments as for the sight of the handsome elementals face furrowed in helpless confusion at how on earth he was going to get out of the strange contraption he was currently encased in. Tris, deciding the European had had enough torture for one day, thought to take pity of the hapless male before her......but Tris being Tris, she couldn't help but give a particular spin to the specialized kind of 'aid' she gave him.
She walked slowly over to Aleksei, "Need a hand?" Her double edged words laced with mischief as she rapidly closed the distance between them. Delft, soft hands were placed on Aleksei's shoulders briefly before sliding smoothly down over chest to the eye hooks holding the tight cloth of velvet and satin togeather. Looking up at Aleksei, that wicked look still sparkling in her eyes, Tris begun undoing the corset fastenings by feel- maybe showing off just alittle. "These thing can be notoriously tricky if you don't know what you are doing."
"These thing can be notoriously tricky if you don't know what you are doing."
"Yes... I must admit I've never taken one off from this direction before." He leaned in closer. "Perhaps you can judge my technique after the Louvre."
He leaned back as the corset slid off. Without taking his eyes off of Tris he folded it as neatly as possible and handed it over. "So... about that painting. And... my shirt. Where did you put my shirt again? I like that shirt..." Aleksei trailed off. Tris wearing almost nothing was fairly distracting.
"Yes... I must admit I've never taken one off from this direction before. Perhaps you can judge my technique after the Louvre."
Tris was, it had to be said, a little bit annoyed- I mean, she was standing there in her underwear playing the whole 'I'm a teasing temptress' angle and the guy was being a perfect gentlemen. She'd wanted to tease and taunt him and have a laugh, and he was being all noble and stuff. What was with that? Oh well, that was a question to ponder another day.
"We'll see." She said as she unhooked the last of the catches locking Aleksei into the constricting cloth, smiling and evading a direct answer to his assumption.
Once free Aleksei slid the material off, folded it up, and gave it to Tris. She took it equally as silently with a nod of thanks then turned away to collect her suitcase and wheel the contraption back to her own room.
Aleksei's voice drifted after her....
"So... about that painting. And... my shirt. Where did you put my shirt again? I like that shirt..."
She was at the door though before she designed to answer the question. Turning her head back to look at Aleksei, she answered him with a brilliant smile. "It's under your pillow." She told him before going through the door. ....then stopped, and popped her head back around the door jam, adding; "Okay, I'll give you some time to get ready. Meet me at the front desk of this little B'n'B in half an hour. Dress to impress, but remember to be fabulous but forgettable.....See ya soon." And she was out the door and on the way to her room. As she walked she pondered and Tris had to admit, she was a little impressed. Tris being Tris had just tired to one up Aleksei in this eternal little game that they were playing, but he hadn't fallen for it....yet. But still, if Aleksei was going to bring that kind of focus under pressure to the job they had yet to do, Tris had to admit to herself that she felt a little bit safer to the hands of her partner. ...All good information to know before a heist Tris thought.
By this time she had reached her own door, opening it and dragging her luggage inside she was pondering with of her outfits was just perfect for scoping out the Louvre and a certain painting they had been ordered to 'liberate'. ....Hmmmmm- layers. She decided. Dress, tights, boots, jacket. Perfect.
Aleksei dressed nicely. That is to say that Aleksei dressed as nicely as he ever did. In other words, slightly dressier than his usual casual self.
He had traded in his cargo pants for a nice pair of navy blue pin-stripe dress pants, and he had even managed to dig up a white collared shirt. He spent a good five minutes fidgeting with his clothes, even after he was completely ready. Just the small change into something slightly nicer made him feel uncomfortable. He felt like some ponce who had a regular job and a white picket fence. In short, he didn't feel like himself.
Still, there was no sense in worrying about it now. With one last tug at his clothes Aleksei headed downstairs. After making his way to the rendezvous Aleksei looked around for Tris and didn't find her. He gave an internal shrug before leaning up against the desk to wait. With his spare time he found himself wondering what Tris would wear. Perhaps a dress? Whatever it was it surely couldn't top her earlier outfit.
A question to ponder while doing that last minute check in the mirror that girls do before they have a big night out. Just what did one take to the museum they were casing? ....Well, when you were just an enthusiastic armature with certain gifts rather than a professional thief. Camera- obviously. Money Keys Real Identification..... and fake identification. Lip gloss?
Well whatever, this was just a dry run, a practice if you will for the main event and Tris trusted Aleksei either to bring the cooler techno stuff, or at least know the stuff they lacked so they could buy it.
Satisfied she was as prepared for today as she could be, Tris locked up and headed down stairs. At least she knew she'd blend in. Fabulous but forgettable was the vibe she was going for today, and Tris, not being at all modest about some things, thought she'd hit the mark just right. Awesome sapphire blue, thigh length dress. Black tights, cute black boots, and a well cut jacket to emphasize said awesomeness. Tris was totally ready to fit int with the high end tourist type crowd who frequented iconic cultural landmarks.
Afew more steps and she was at the front desk where Aleksei was waiting. A sneaky glance at her watch confirming she wasn't late....by much. And a more appraising glance at Aleksei's attire was cause for a remark or two. "Hmmm....good, but could be better." She commented teasingly by way of greeting. "I mean I like it, and I see you've made an effort, but I was thinking more suave tux's for the super cool 007 man of mystery vibe....but hey, it'll work." She then smiled, sliding over to Aleksei and slipping her arm through this elbow. "So.... shall we go hunting?"
