The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

Alexandra kept her face as neutral as possible while Lenna spoke. When the woman was finished, she simply shrugged. “Yes, I am aware of a few creative ways that usually work with people.” That was exactly what she was thinking before. Blink. Air left her lungs slowly as she placed her elbow on the table and rested her chin on top of her palm.
“Wife, Irina. Daughter, Monica. Son, Andrei.” She paused, smiling slightly. “If it comes to using his family as a creative way, I believe mentioning his son would be the most effective.”
Lenna shrugged. "Sounds good to me. One question, though. It sounds like you know him personally. Does that threaten the code of secrecy on this mission any, or am I worrying for nothing?" If she knew of him, that was great. She had good information on his family, and that which he valued. Those were good. If he could pick her out of a lineup... that wasn't as good. The Kabal's aim in this mission was secrecy, after all. One didn't simply bribe in broad daylight, in front of the world. If Alexandra drew attention to herself, or her past from this one mission... well then. They'd have to disguise her. Other than than that...
There wasn't much else Lenna could think of, other than that. They'd discussed powers and limitations. They'd discussed their target. She didn't much feel like sharing her past. Alexandra was free to share hers, but Lenna preferred she didn't, or if all else failed, kept to the footnotes. She was tired. It had been a long flight. There was no need to make discussion of the mission any longer.
Lenna leaned forwards on the bed, and swung her left leg over her right. She rested her arms across her lap as she leaned, reading Alexandra's reaction to her question. She hoped her worries were for naught.
“You’re worrying for nothing Lenna,” Alexandra said, her face straight. She got up from the chair, but didn’t step away from the table. “I bet I know most of the people whom the Kabal is bribing because I grew up with them visiting my house. It doesn’t mean that I am influenced in any way.” Well, she killed her father with cold blood. Was there something that could really influence her decisions? Alexandra doubted it.
The molecule manipulator smiled. “Really. Don’t worry Lenna. When time comes, I’ll do the right thing.” Whatever right meant. Alexandra was certain of that.
But, enough of that. They had yet to discuss a few subjects, including her allegiance. Her smile broadened slightly. “You think I’d have been working with the Kabal for more than a year if I was easy to manipulate?” And there. Problem solved.
"Actually, I was worried more that they'd know your face and identity. Slate wants anonymity here. It wouldn't do to draw attention to his little company. Especially if the senators we're bribing can pin a name to a face." Lenna replied, unamused. Socks hit carpet as Lenna got to her feet, and looked Alexandra in the eye. She smiled. "I don't doubt your loyalty, nor do I think you malleable. I just don't want to chance any drama, should our negotiations go south."
Alexandra had assumed too much from Lenna's question, and she'd assumed all the wrong things. "Maybe, you could wear a disguise or something. I don't know. Something nice?" She was entirely serious.
Oh. “Yeah, well, we could do that.” Alexandra replied with a shrug. “But I wouldn’t worry very much about them pinning a name to a face.” She got up as soon as the last words escaped her lips.
“I look very different from the last time any of them have seen me.” Again, Alexandra shrugged, this time smiling slightly. “But better safe than sorry, I believe.”
"Exactly," Lenna replied. Better safe. "Do you have any clothes that could disguise you?" Lenna knew she herself did. The hair color and the cut helped, too. And the colored contacts. "If not, we could go shopping."
... Tomorrow. "But, other than that, I don't believe there's anything else to discuss regarding this mission. If we need to, there's always tomorrow. I know I'm tired after the flight. I'm sure you are, too. Let's call it a night?"
Clothes to disguise her? “Not really.” Alexandra replied, with a shrug. “I think we might need to go shopping tomorrow.” She added with a small smile.
She looked at Lenna for a moment as she said she was tired. And Alexandra nodded in agreement. She wasn’t really tired but while Lenna was having her rest, she was sure that there was plenty of things she needed to do. “Yes, we’ll talk tomorrow.” Alexandra said as she moved toward the door. “Have a good sleep, Lenna.” She added with a smile before exiting the room and heading to her own.
"You too," Lenna replied, seeing Alexandra to the door. Once she was out, Lenna turned the lock shut. The meeting had gone well, she thought, as she walked the line of carpet from entrance to bed. She bent to pull a bag free from underneath the bed, and pulled out a novel. The zipper flashed back. Lenna slapped the book down on the bedside table on her path towards the adjoining bathroom.
The trip had indeed made her tired. She'd take a shower, then rest. Tomorrow was a big mission. Big day. They'd have to be ready.
