The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

Mars had been deep in thought and concentration for quite some time, he was working and willing the void into being he was studying and studying and failing again and again. he was still trying to master it. It was Ridiculous! He had the only person who could operate the void with ease in his head for two solid weeks, Abyss was no help at all when it came to explaining from out side or inside. Apparently it was too easy, so easy that he couldn't convey how to do it beyond. "Just open it."
he had loved being able to separate himself from the others for days at a time and he was happy none of them wanted back in until he had better control. he had to listen to their nonsense and boredom for two weeks and it was just like before the void was discovered.those dark days of listening to abyss suffer, from the deepths of his mind, unable to help defend him or free him, it had been years that they were stuck there.
but he had been free for two weeks. It was a blessing.
The day after their date Mars found a note saying that if she wasn’t back in a month call this number, so of course he went to a traceless phone and called the number…It was Jacen’s…He had guessed that the date went a whole lot worse then he thought it had. But a month was finally closing so he called the number and got no answer. So, he left what felt like a pathetic message.
“Hey, This is Mars, I know this is a bit awkward but I got a note from Lori asking me to contact this number if I hadn’t seen her in a month…I haven’t . Give me a call back if you want to Lori. Jacen, if you don’t know where she is please give me a call. I am pretty concerned…if you ever cared for her. at least give me that. I know it’s asking a lot………………….bye.”
He decided to drive to the park, see if she was there or maybe her family would be able to give him a lead. He was furious before he even got out of the Jeep, the door was wide open, the few things that were in the house were in the yard…. His fists clenched and his knuckles cracked. He stormed into the house hoping that He would find those who did this still in the act. No one…nothing. No notes here, he looked every where. Why would she force him to contact Jacen, that self absorbed ass.
He knocked on a neighbors door and a woman in a night dress came to the door, a baby on one hip an alcoholic beverage in the other, for the first in a long time the person didn’t look shocked or even surprised to see a seven foot Bright red man with a long monkeyish tail twitching about behind him.
“You see what happened over there?” he motioned his thumb over his shoulder toward the abandoned trailer.
She replied with a smirk “I saw what happened a few weeks ago with you and that hussy of a blond and that other fella. I don’t like my kids being educated like that, I tell ya what.”
Mars was not in a patient mood he without thought was making a rumbling growl and gritting his teeth. He was absently aware that this sent the other wise uninterested baby into a crying fit.
“I want to know when and how that happened.”
She seemed to finally notice that he was only standing on the first step and looking her in the eye and that he might not fit through their front door even if he ducked and turned sideways sucking in…but he could certainly widen the door way.
“a few fellas made a mess of the place, that other fella had a fight with them not to long ago. He ran they started shooting. Couldn’t have been a few hours ago.”
Hours ago…
“Thank you, I honestly appreciate it.” Mars reached into his pocket and pulled out a roll of twenties. And handed it to her. this is enough to start something better for your kids, if you use it right.”
She looked at him in awe, like he was golden and not bright red... She took a breathe. " I won't tell no one you were here mister."
"actually tell them I was, send them to the sanctuary if they have questions for me."
He went into the yard and looked for a picture of Lori…He couldn’t find one of her, but her mother held such a resemblance that he could ask someone if they saw her and if they had seen Lori they would point him to her. He folded the picture up to make it show only her.
He made a call to the sanctuary and sent some of his favorite thugs to clean up Lori’s place and hang out for anybody else that came by. They were to clear out of the house if anyone in the picture showed up and then hang out in the yard. The three he sent were dangerous but tame enough to know better then to cross him.
“ Pick up the *************************** phone. I am going to call one more time, don’t force my hand on this. I have thought about our last exchange and I promise you the advantage you had isn’t there any more. I will find you, and you will tell me what I want to know.”
He then turned got into the jeep and took off. Could he remember Jacen’s license plate? Henry The 8th Killed 6 Wives. HT8 K6W…could that have been it? He shook his head at himself, he was such a freak. If he could track the plates, he could track the owner and track the apartment. Jacen was obviously concerned…Was he angry about her disappearance or not being the one that was preferred to chase her?
He drove like Mercury to get back to the sanctuary, He went to Jupiters room and geared up. He typically didn’t like toting weapons, but he liked fighting Jacen even less. He threw on a giant leather coat and then grabbed a helmet. He then went to his room and flicked on his computer and started searching… trying to track Lori was like chasing someone who didn’t exsist…as if he hadn’t tried to get a clue before the month was up He had even found out where her original birth certificate was held…he kept that in his back pocket to answer a curious question. So far he was getting thrown road blocks that came with being with the government. Jacen wouldn’t be tracked either.
He sighed and looked as his cell phone. He knew one more thing he could do to try to track her but it was a desperate measure.
He tried one last public data search engine and came up with something that made him smile a big evil grin, The name wasn't spelled Jason as he had assumed...it was Jacen. a name he had over looked several times, in his search for the man. He was going to tear apart that apartment if he had to get the a clue as to her where abouts, at the very least he was going to wait in that punks apartment until he came back.
He dialed the number one more time. His eyes were looking on his computer screen reading the information that public access had on him. He grinned as he learned the stuff that is available to anyone with the twelve dollars to buy a public data account, he felt a bit stalker-ish but it was interesting to know about his rival. his anger flared and he began a menacing stride toward the garage and then finally came to a motorcycle. He plopped the full helmet on his head and got seated,
The phone rang and rang and rang, why wouldn’t he answer!?!
The small electronic device started to crack and Mars restrained himself, he didn’t want to reprogram a new phone to have all of his numbers in it. He glanced at it and the plastic cover was already destroyed he tossed the outer protective shall to the side and then nodded to him self.
The phone finally voiced out Jacen’s answering machine message. Mars Sneered. “ Have it your way.” He carefully pushed the red button to the right and slide the phone into a pocket. He glanced at the Long belt of throwing knives and ninja stars in his jacket and the Machete in its cover in the other side…this was not going to be pleasant, but he would have his information and then he would find her. What was going on anyway?
He got on the motor cycle and took off into the city He weaved in and out of traffic when it seemed safe enough to do so. And circled buildings until he was sure he had the right one. He zipped up the black leather and left his helmet on, the only tales that would give him away was his massive build and the long red furry tail that waved around behind him, and he glanced at the buzzer, he thought about pressing the corresponding number but just decided to let himself in instead. He pulled the door open leaving the small wedge bent and the corresponding latch broken. One of the residents inside had a shocked look on his face and went directly into a primal instinct. He stayed as still as he could, eyes focused on the large man in the doorway.
Living creatures typically had two reactions to danger, fight or flight…or the pathetic choice that this man opted for…do absolutely nothing. But lucky for him, Mars wasn’t in the mood for wasting time. He walked over to the door marked emergency use that contained the stairs and began his ascent. He didn’t want to bother with the elevator for some reason right now. Maybe it was that he was in the mood to stay moving, he didn’t want to stand still, three flights of stairs and he exited into the Hall way he walked up in front of the door on a corner apartment, Not bad. He placed his palm on the door and taped with his pointer finger, it sounds as if a normal person was knocking loudly. He wasn’t in the living room or he might already have reverted into earth. He backed up quickly to the other side of the hallway and then down a little bit he measured off the space he thought he would need to stay out of his range. Lori told him to stay what, eight to twelve feet away from him? He was here for a conversation but if he resisted he was going strait for the throwing Knives.
He stared at the door waiting for someone to answer. His heart beat thumped excitedly, He was surprised with himself, the adrenaline and the lack for information caused him to be excited with the prospect of getting what he needed, however he needed it. It was a reckless feeling that Mars rarely let himself experience.

Someone at the library was going to be very sorry. Kealey had decided that once her shift had ended and she’d gone to collect her things to go home. There was a post-it note stuck to her purse informing her that she’d had a phone call.
There was only one person Kealey could think of who would call her at work, and he’d probably only do it if it were an emergency. That in and of itself made Kealey worried enough, and the worry doubled when she called the apartment and got no answer. Had something gone wrong at work? Kealey shut off the slippery slope of worry she was running down and took a deep breath focusing instead on how she was going to everything in her power to find out who hadn’t gotten her for the call.
The ride home was unpleasant. It always was when Kealey got off at this time in the evening. The busses were packed and it was all Kealey could do to not get off of the bus and walk the rest of the way home. At least off of the bus, people wouldn’t have been pressed in so close, the proximity making Kealey feel like she really was inside their heads. How did people live with so many emotions rolling around inside of them all the time? It was the same question she asked herself every time she rode crowded public transport and the same question she still didn’t have an answer to. By the time she got off at the proper stop and moved far enough away from the bus that she could tell what she was feeling, Kealey wondered exactly what had her so worried. Then she remembered.
The trip into the building and up the stairs took little to know time and Kealey basically burst through the door calling out, ”Jacen!” as she entered. The apartment was dark and absolutely silent. Around Kealey went, flipping on lights in familiar places and looking around for any sign of Jacen. Then she saw the note, Kealey picked it up and studied the words, reading through the note once, then again. That jerk at the library was going to pay…Kealey had a million questions…most importantly, how long ago had Jacen left the note?
Reading the last line again, and feeling marginally better about the situation, Kealey moved to check the answering machine. No call from Jacen. There were, however, two very angry and urgent messages on the machine from someone demanding information from Jacen. There was cursing and threats, and mentions of the last time the two had met. Kealey knew nothing of the situation...but with the note Jacen had left...she was starting to get seriously worried.
Kealey checked again just to be sure, attempting to bat away the emotions of the other people in the building as she concentrated. Jacen had said that he would call her as soon as he could. Did that mean he was going to be in a situation where that wouldn't be possible? She turned on the phone and started to dial Jacen's cell...
Then came the knock at the door. Kealey jumped about a mile in the air and as she made her way to the door, she shoved the note from Jacen into her pocket. The emotions from the other side of the door made her frown though. It obviously wasn’t Jacen standing out there because if it had been ,she wouldn’t have been able to feel him at all…and the person who was out there…wasn’t in the kind of state of mind that a person wanted to be confronted with at their front door.
After debating with herself for a few moments, Kealey decided that opening the door and dealing with whoever it was out there who was feeling so much adrenaline and worry at the same time was going to be better than waiting for them to break down the door. Slowly the door opened and Kealey was faced with…absolutely nobody.
Poking her head out the door, her body following a moment later, Kealey turned towards the only end of the hall that someone could have come from and found herself facing a hulking form….a hulking form that was currently registering surprise…and had a tail.
There was only one person that Kealey had met who was this size and in possession of a tail.
”Venus?” she said quietly, taking a few steps down the hall, ”Is that you?
~”Venus?” she said quietly, taking a few steps down the hall, ”Is that you?~
Mars’s hand went into his coat ready to fling the first knife, but he hesitated as this could be the wrong place. That was when a pretty little blond peaked out the door…moving on so fast are we Jacen? At least he knew the man’s Type. Petite pretty blond after he heard the accent he assume fiery was part of the attraction as well. The killer in him deflated and returned him to his usual self, for the moment. His eyes ran over her, in a not so intrusive way, he was taking in her look, not simply her frame, he just wanted to be able to remember the woman in case he saw her again or needed to describe her to Venus. She looked sweet, Pretty, a little bit librarian-ish, something he personally could appreciate and something Venus could make obscene. He would tick off her personality traits as he noted them.
“I’m afraid not, I’m just not that charming. Though it doesn’t surprise me that My brother would have tried to chase you.” He paused and gathered his thoughts…would he be willing to interrogate this woman? And more so what would he do to find what he needed? “I am Mars and I have some questions for the man of the house.” Should he just throw him under the bus now and tell the cute little thing that Jacen was cheating on her...No she recognized Venus…it was probably mutual cheating.
He walked forward calmly not wanting to intimidate, let her tell him what she knew and do this the easy way. He took off his helmet and offered the now empty hand to shake. He smiled at the woman, “if you are wondering, we aren’t twins, we’re sextuplets. And as identical as they come. Of course I am sure you can tell I am not Venus, as I haven’t tried to undress you and it has been more then five seconds.” He laughed at his own little slam on Venus. “
“Is Jacen here?” a bit of urgency struck him but the violence was out of him for now, though he could still be in the apartment sending a woman out to send him away.
“or might you know where he has gone?” attempt a bluff, sure why not. “I think he may be in danger and I would like to help him stay out of it.” by answering my questions and staying out of my way.

The man relaxed when he saw Kealey. Well, at least the adrenaline pumping through his body slowed down. Kealey took a deep breath, her own heart rate decreasing as her companion in the hall calmed down. He looked her over, and Kealey was suddenly quite sure that this was not the man she’d met at the Sanctuary. Venus had been intense, dangerous in an entirely different way than the man standing down the hall. Hadn’t Venus said something about brothers? Kealey tilted her head slightly, eyes narrowing as she took her own inventory of the man in front of her. She’d taken down bigger with her powers, hopefully it wouldn’t come to that.
Charming? Not exactly the word Kealey would have used to describe Venus, but he’d been kind to her…after his initial indiscretions. Those hadn’t exactly been his fault either, and Kealey had reserved judgment. A wise choice since the red guy had proven himself to be a perfect gentleman, at least in feelings and actions. If there was more than that, Kealey wasn’t aware. This…sibling was different, more calculating, and much more urgent for some reason. Kealey didn’t say anything, not yet. She just listened.
His name was Mars, Kealey filed it away so that she could ask Jacen about the man when he called. As he spoke, though, something ran familiar in his voice. It only took a few moments to pinpoint it. The answering machine. Despite Mars’ polite exterior, Kealey could feel the urgency in him and she continued to watch him out of slightly narrowed eyes as he asked for Jacen.
”He’s not here right now. Is there a message I could take or something I could help you with?” Kealey crossed her arms and raised her chin. The gesture was probably slightly less than intimidating to someone of Mars’ size, but he wasn’t going to push her around, not matter how gently he was going to try to do it.
Closer Mars came and Kealey still stood her ground, tentatively reaching out to shake the offered hand and smiling a little smile that didn’t quite reach her eyes when Mars commented on the similarities and differences between him and his brother. ”I assure you. In my experience, your brother was a complete gentleman and a wonderful host.” Kealey said in response, ”My clothes were in little to no danger of being removed.”
Back to Jacen, and where he was. Kealey’s thoughts flickered slightly to the note she’d hurriedly shoved into her back pocket as she moved to open the door. It said exactly where he was, but there was no way in the realms of heaven or earth that Kealey was going to give that information to a man who’d left a threatening message on the answering machine just a short time ago.
”He’s not here, and I wish I could help you. Like I said before, I’d be glad to take a message and pass it on as soon as I hear from him.” she said, softly, uncomfortable with the lie, but sure that it was necessary. He said he wanted to help Jacen and keep him safe. If Kealey knew anything from the message on the answering machine…keeping Mars ignorant was the best way to do exactly that.
~~”He’s not here right now. Is there a message I could take or something I could help you with?”
“ Yes there is something you could help me with.” He kept his tone controlled though, his fingers twitched slightly, he didn’t have time for this.
~~”I assure you. In my experience, your brother was a complete gentleman and a wonderful host.” ”My clothes were in little to no danger of being removed.”
He raised his eyebrows slightly. “ of course.” Was all he stated, had she been hopeful that it was Venus? Had he all to predictably left after he energy failed? Hmmm, or perhaps she was just one of those that preferred to denial. He was easily skeptical, bt again he kept those thoughts in his head.
~~”He’s not here, and I wish I could help you. Like I said before, I’d be glad to take a message and pass it on as soon as I hear from him.”
Mars took a deep breathe and let t out slowly, “Look, he isn’t the only one in danger, this involves a close friend of mine, and I will be holding him personally responsible for her safety. He was supposed to have information for me, about her. He was supposed to have that information today. And lo and behold he won’t answer his phone and more so he isn’t home. I am sure if you have been here, you have heard some less than pleasant things. I also take it that you haven’t heard from him in A little while. Six, seven hours? At the very least? Look There are dangerous people.”
He assumed that the people that ransacked Lori’s place and shot at Jacen’s truck were dangerous enough. “ There are dangerous people involved here, and I don’t know if you’ve noticed, but I am equipped to help them both, if I only had a way to find them, I don’t want to hurt him, I am typically a calm person, but I am at my breaking point, and I would rather not involve you. But again, I am not sure I have any where else to turn, and the clock is ticking, The last I could find him was at her place which had been ransacked from there he showed up and people shot at him as he left. You aren’t helping by keeping your mouth shut.” His hands were carefully relaxed, if he let them tense he might be encouraged to do something that would be foolish, he was forcing himself to remain calm, but one more refusal and well, his hand would be forced to stop asking, and start demanding. His tail paced back and forth in a most agitated manner.
A man stepped out of his apartment and looked concerned Mars scowled at him and he actually stepped back inside forgetting about whatever he meant to do. It almost made him laugh.

Impatience. Kealey’s eyes narrowed even more at the surge of emotion from the man in the hall. It was hard not to fidget. What could this man possibly need from her that could make him feel this urgent, Kealey didn’t know, but the only thing she was feeling right now was the same impatience he was.
Disbelief, that’s what Kealey was feeling from Mars now, when she brought up Venus. He didn’t believe her? “ Your feelings towards your brother surprise me. I was injured. Venus offered me a place to stay. I’m not that kind of girl.”
Mars went on though, and the urgency was back, along with irritation, and worry. Kealey frowned, the words were ringing true. Mars said that these people were dangerous and it wasn’t just Jacen who was in danger from them. It was a woman, puzzle pieces started to slowly fall together. Mars kept saying ‘she’. The answering machine had said something about the last time they’d met. Kealey looked at the man focusing hard on the emotions. There was nothing suggesting that he was telling anything other than the truth.
”He’s not answering his phone?” she said slowly, mind going back to the phone she’d been holding in her hand before the knock on the door had come. Her brows furrowed more.
Patience was quickly turning to menace, but Mars wasn’t acting. He was a very large man, and while Kealey was confident in her abilities, she wasn’t sure she’d be able to make them work fast enough to keep him from hurting her if he really wanted to. Kealey watched as his fists clenched, then carefully opened. The note from Jacen suddenly felt conspicuous in her back pocket.
Mars continued speaking, seemingly emphasizing the dire state of the situation, and threatening again.
”Someone like you should realize that looks can be incredibly deceiving, Mr. Mars. I’m tempted to tell you to take your threats and nasty phone messages to someone who is going to be intimidated by them…before you force my hand.” Kealey said, crossing her arms and staring the large man down, blue eyes flashing. It was so tempting to teach him a little lesson.
Around her back, the blonde’s hand went, and into her pocket to reappear a moment later with the note that Jacen had written her. She smoothed it between her hands, and looked down at the writing.
”I’ll know if you’re lying to me.” Kealey said softly, ”And I owe Jacen more than you would possibly believe. If you hurt him. I can, and will hurt you.”
She held the letter out, eyebrows knitted close in a frown, ”He’s in Tallahassee. I assume that’s where your friend is.” she paused for a moment, ”What’s her name?”
~~“ Your feelings towards your brother surprise me. I was injured. Venus offered me a place to stay. I’m not that kind of girl.”
A smirk and then an understanding nod, “ My apologies, he has a certain reputation, if you managed to share his place to stay and remain not that kind of girl, then I can respect that. the fact remains that even if you were innocently ignorant of his intentions, he had them.”
~~”He’s not answering his phone.”
“Not good.”
~~”Someone like you should realize that looks can be incredibly deceiving, Mr. Mars. I’m tempted to tell you to take your threats and nasty phone messages to someone who is going to be intimidated by them…before you force my hand.”
Mars sighed and then smiled, when a cats hair stood up and it got that posed look it was hard not to wonder how painful its wraith would be, when a kitten did it, it was cute. He took a deep breath and was about to apologize for his current mood and behavior as he tried to calm back down, but she continued.
~~”I’ll know if you’re lying to me.” ”And I owe Jacen more than you would possibly believe. If you hurt him. I can, and will hurt you.”
It must be irritating to feel threats fell so horribly, it wasn’t that he didn’t know anyone could be dangerous, it was simply he was feeling dangerous and undaunted by much, he came here to face someone that he found more intimidating then just about anything in the world.
~~”He’s in Tallahassee. I assume that’s where your friend is.” ”What’s her name?”
“I won’t hurt him, unless he was to instigate it, you see he doesn’t make trouble and I will behave, besides I wouldn’t want you have to fight you, I have no quarrel with you in spite of the fact that you would hurt me over such a foolish man.”
He looked at her steadily for that minute deciding if he should answer so easily when she gave him what he wanted already and was being so aggravating.
“You sure you want to know?” At a slight nod from the woman. He answered with her first name only. “Lori.”
He paused for a moment longer. “Well, I am off to the airport.” He turned to leave...and stopped. “You happen to know where in Tallahassee?” He paused waiting for the Fiery Blond to answer him.

It was Kealey’s turn to be amused now as Mars attempted to “enlighten” her to Venus’ intentions the night she’d stayed in his room at the sanctuary. ”I assure you, the last thing I am, is ignorant of anyone’s emotions.” There were always exceptions to the rule, like Jacen, but they weren’t talking about exceptions right now. They were talking about the here and now.
Kealey nodded when Mars pointed out that it wasn’t good that Jacen hadn’t called. Kealey knew that…she just didn’t know what all this was helping the situation at all. She set him down firmly for his threats and nasty attitude and a new emotion filtered through everything else. Mars was amused. Kealey was concentrating before she knew what she was doing, grabbing onto his emotions…resolved to show Mars exactly how amusing she could be. She took a deep breath and stopped, though. This was someone who didn’t seem interested in games. Instead, Kealey clenched her teeth and stared him down, glaring blue fire at the big, red man.
If Mars was trying to reassure Kealey, he was doing a pretty poor job of it. Honestly speaking, he was making matters worse. Why on Earth would Jacen try to start something with someone of this size. There had to be something there in the past, but Jacen had never mentioned a quarrel with someone like this. Mars’ words were sharp though, and as he finished speaking, Kealey tilted her head at him and crossed her arms across her chest.
”I’ll thank you to leave it to me to decide whether I think the man’s a fool or not.” she said simply, ”And I shouldn’t need to remind you that you were the one who threatened first, any mistrust you’ve earned is your own fault for your surly attitude and rude feelings.”
He asked her if she really wanted the name and Kealey nodded her head. Of course she wanted to know the name. He told her. It wasn’t the answer that Kealey wanted, though, and a deep frown marred her features. Jacen hadn’t mentioned that in the note. He’d probably had his reasons, though. Kealey trusted that…still.
Mars was leaving though, apparently to go to Tallahassee right that moment. Just walking away like that…after everything she’d told him. She’d already moved, though, and by the time that Mars turned around, Kealey had grabbed her purse and was locking the door to the apartment.
”I don’t, but I’m coming with you.” she said, jogging to get in step with Mars and reading the note again. “It says he found something about the death of his parents, and that he had to go.”
~~”I’ll thank you to leave it to me to decide whether I think the man’s a fool or not.””And I shouldn’t need to remind you that you were the one who threatened first, any mistrust you’ve earned is your own fault for your surly attitude and rude feelings.”
“You’re welcome to your opinion. Second comment about knowing about emotions you’ve made, I’m not surprised you’re a mutant, Humans tend to Give me a pretty shocked look the first, though with Venus and all I suppose you wouldn’t be surprised by how I look.” Why, was he self sabotaging? Yes taunt the woman that is holding the information you need. And you think of yourself as intelligent.
~~”I don’t, but I’m coming with you.” “It says he found something about the death of his parents, and that he had to go.”
“hmmmm, Do you mind a motorcycle ride? I drive well, I assure you. And if you are coming with me and want to take more than that, I can hang on a minute.”
He shrugged as he waited for the decision. But kept talking regardless. “Odd, I wonder if she has something to do with his finding out that something…I don’t see how she fits into this. Has he said anything about looking into his parents death? She has been gone for about a month as far as I know.” He grimaced at mentioning that. He shouldn’t have. “ don’t worry about a ticket or anything we are going by private jet.”
He pulled out his cell phone and Said to the phone. “Text Lisa……message Schedule jet 2 to Tallahassee Florida. Please Thanks. Mars. Send.” He tossed the phone back in his pocket and looked up to see what the woman was doing.

He was being much more reasonable, and his feelings were infused with a respectable amount of worry and chagrin now, instead of the amusement and irritation from earlier. Things had turned around quite amiably. Kealey nodded her head at his astute observation about her abilities, it seemed that this brother was more than just brawn as well. ”I’ve got something of a talent for emotions.” as to the rest of his statement about her being shocked, Kealey shrugged.
”Feeling what I feel…I have a tendency to not even realize what a person looks like until much after the fact. Most of the time….”
Kealey had expected a fight when she announced she was going along…but she didn’t get one. In fact, quite the opposite. Mars seemed completely comfortable with her tagging along, in fact, he told her that if she wanted to grab something more than her purse? She tried to gage the truth of his words, and found nothing to suggest he was lying, ”Two minutes…”
That said, she reentered the apartment and moved in a flurry, grabbing the largest purse she could find and shoving a change of clothes in it as well as a few other items in case of an emergency, then she was back out in the hall.
Apparently Mars had access to a private plane…Kealey couldn’t keep her eyebrow from raising at that fact…and they were going to ride on a motorcycle. Two things Kealey had never done before. She didn’t have time to dwell on that though, and as she locked the door again and turned to face Mars, she smiled slightly, pulling on the jacket she’d grabbed and pulling her hair up into a ponytail. ”Let’s go.”
~~”I’ve got something of a talent for emotions.” ”Feeling what I feel…I have a tendency to not even realize what a person looks like until much after the fact. Most of the time….”
“Interesting, I apologize then for some of my feelings, you have to understand today is not me at my best or my usual.”
~~"Two minutes..." He nodded to the two minutes statement and was amazed when she had actually meant it. Sometimes females said two minutes and he always wondered at if the theory of relativity was inspired from comparing a woman’s two minutes versus a man’s.
~~“Let’s go.” She stated and he simply nodded. He handed her the spare helmet, It would be fit for a female, not that the brother that was “innocent” would have thought to put a second helmet on every single motorcycle that the order owned, for just in case.
After he handed the helmet, he looked at her and realized that she was meant to go On a ride tonight, she was dressed like a biker, white Tee Jeans and Leather coat.
“We have a bit of a ride to the air strip, if you need to stop or I am worrying you or you need to tell me something tap my side or something til you get my attention.” He hoped on to motorcycle and let her get situated, he set off when he noted that she was holding on pretty tight, He broght his tail up and around her and toward his back again, it was loosely there but if she shifted somewhere she shouldn’t, she would be made safe. He even though to hook it through her purse handles on the way back toward his back. If she didn’t like it, he didn’t notice a complaint, particularly when he started making use of the maneuverability of a smaller vehicle. He opened up the bike when they made it clear of the disgusting city traffic and to the small air field for private Jet’s the, Order had Three that he knew of. The one he requested was an eight passenger plane and it was sweet. But that wasn’t the point, the point was not dealing with any airport garbage, they would get there and get on the plane. Including the motorcycle, going in the cargo. If anyone knew the Order they would recognize the black and red theme on the plain. Even the black halo like O on the tail. Why did they let Abyss help by official things, Mars would never know.

Motorcycles were something that Kealey could get used to, she decided as the wind whipped pieces of her hair loose from the ponytail at the base of her neck. The proximity to Mars was strange, she barely knew the man…but the situation was dire, and Kealey had a feeling that the ride would have been somewhat less enjoyable if it hadn’t been for the restraint his tail was providing. As with Venus at first, Kealey again realized the similarities between the brothers and the traditional depiction of Satan. It was strange…if anything, Venus and his brother seemed to go out of their way to do good things. Kealey decided that she’d browse the religion section the next time she had the chance and see if she could dig anything up on the symbolism.
The trip was relatively short once they got out of the city, and Kealey was almost sad when they rode the bike into the cargo hold and cut the engine. Mars was focused now, and his emotions flittered back and forth from a million different things. It was a little confusing, and again Kealey found herself wondering if all the brothers were as passionate as the two she’d met so far. If that was the case, just thinking about them all in the same room nearly made the blond shudder. That would be a mess. Off the bike she climbed, pulling off the helmet and loosing her hair, shaking it after she set down the helmet and making her way into the cabin of the jet.
The plane was small, smaller than any jet that Kealey had ever seen. Still, it was so nice on the inside she had to wonder exactly where Mars had procured it. Did the sanctuary provide things like this to its members? Strange.
In no time, the plane was moving down the runway and lifting smoothly into the air. The engines were so quiet, that Kealey could barely hear them and she looked out the window in slight awe. The only other time she’d been on a plane had been on her initial trip to New York City…and this was so different.
Kealey occupied herself with that for a while, watching the lights and the setting sun as the plane made its way towards Florida. Kealey wanted to worry, about a million different aspects of the trip, but she forced herself not to. Mars’ impatience and other emotions were enough to deal with at once. In fact, ”I know this is a strange request…but is there any way you can feel a little more patient? I think I might crawl out of my skin over here.” she shudder slightly and stood up, moving to look through some of the other windows before sitting again, bouncing a foot in seeming irritation.
”You know what I do…tell me about you? My conversation with Venus was quite brief and I’d had a quite serious head injury earlier in the evening. Do all your siblings share the same powers?”
Smalltalk was good…maybe he’d forget what they were doing and calm down. Kealey hoped so, otherwise she was going to have to start running laps.
“ You don’t seem to rattled, I take it my driving wasn’t to bad. “ his tail held up her purse that she must have full released for him to carry at some point.
They got loaded and took off, he needed to remember to buy something nice for lisa, or insure she got a bonus or three, not only did she have the plane readied for them but the cargo hold was ready and prepared for a motorcycle, she had taken the pains to see what he had left on and knew it was him who left. They settled into the plane and he made sure that Kealey knew she was welcome to whatever the plane offered.
~~“I know this is a strange request…but is there any way you can feel a little more patient? I think I might crawl out of my skin over here.”
Mars opened his mouth and was initially going to snap something off irritably at the woman, but stopped him self. He could relate in a way…it wasn’t so different then having his brothers stuck in his mind complaining about this or that about being bored. How many times had he just want to strangle Jupiter for being his usual grumpy self or slap Pluto for being Hyper while he had no body and was stuck in the void. Or Saturn for his never ending mope.
“Not odd considering the circumstance. I will do my best.” He took a deep breath and counted to three. He whispered to him self. “Calm down there is nothing you can do to make this go faster. Relax.” He opened his eyes as she decided to finally make conversation.
~~”You know what I do…tell me about you? My conversation with Venus was quite brief and I’d had a quite serious head injury earlier in the evening. Do all your siblings share the same powers?”
“ I love talking X genes, so don’t hesitate to say uncle if I bore you because I will if you don’t tell me, when is when. If I tell you about us will you tell me about you and how your abilities work?” He would continue either way, as he said he loved to talk mutants. “Yes and no. we all carry the same look, the same strength, the same bulk. The tail. But only one of us has the void, currently that is me, due to your roommate in fact, I am a bit of a novice with it and I would like to see it go back to who it belongs with but I suppose we shall see how that works out and if I approve.”
He placed his palm in front of him and opened a small black hole in front of his hand and tossed a peanut in the hole.
“That. Is in fact a gateway to my mind.”
“what we do not share, is a common ground on which any of use think. I have a theory that when we were made we took a piece of Neptune and made it our own Dominant trait. But I relent on that because it is neither here nor there. What about Yourself?”
If she had to ask anything to take his mind off of everything she had chosen almost too well. She might prefer the laps by the time he was done. The plane sailed through the air and closed on their destination. If the talk kept steady then they would know each other quite well by the time that they traversed the coast.
(Let me know what subjects you think they touched on, significant others? Religion? Style? Other)
