The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

It was very, very early when Audrey woke up, (6:57am to be exact) still a little shaken up from last night. Overall however, she was quite better. Well enough in fact, so that she could roam around the place a little. To be honest, she didn't know how the people could manage living in a place so big, so fancy. She wasn't at all in her element in this big ol' place, and with her stomach growling, it was taking her forever to find the Kitchen. "Come on! It shouldn't be that hard to find a damn Kitchen..." she continued along the first floor, hoping she wasn't very far off. Wouldn't it be embarassing to tell someone where she wanted to go, and have to find out the Kitchen was actually two floors up?
She stopped by a window for a few seconds, watching the Grounds. Sunshine was pouring, making the grass look very beautiful, and the trees were moving gently in the summer breeze. It was a wonderful day, and honestly, Audrey loved being able to see so much grass and trees... Not to mention a Lake. Maybe the Mansion was big, maybe it was too fancy... But the Grounds reminded her of home for some reason. She hadn,t had much of a Yard herself, but still... Louisiana was much smaller then New York!
She continued on her way, and by 7:10 O'clock she'd entered the Kitchen, which, to nobody's surprise, was empty at this early hour.
"I wonder if they'll mind me stealing their food... she said to herself, opening the Fridge and grabbing an Apple, along with a carton of milk. She fumbled around for a glass, when she heard somebody come in. Oh dear, now she was a little scared, and her previous words rang in her ears. Hopefully they didn't mind her stealing a bit of food! She didn't turn around to see who had caught her red-handed, simply pretending she hadn,t heard anything... Maybe they'd just leave?

Shana walked across the mansion, the place was huge but she had learned to navigate it well enough. Thirsty she moved towards the kitchen. Shana had barely left the grounds since she had moved in, in fact the only time she had was to go shopping with Kasumi. Moving a few locks of long blue hair from her face she looked around the dining room and found it empty, still she heard noises from the kitchen, so she knew someone was thare.
Yawning as it was still quite early for her to be up, Looking in the kitchen she saw Morphica and smiled she was glad the girl was ok, her fingers stroked her neck a bit nervously before she pressed into the kitchen, grabbing a pepsi out of the open fridge. "Feeling better?" she asked concerned as she opened the pepsi. "I was quite worried for you when i saw you come in" she said with a smile, trying to be friendly though it was obvious she was still tired The knee length summer dress she wore was a soft blue in color.
She had been innocent and was still attacked, the debate in her head was about her own stance, weather or not never fighting was even a valid option. She knew their were some cases whare one had to do so, but attacks on people simply becuse their views were different were at the very least unacceptable. Still they had not killed, so maybe whoever attacked Morhica and jewel was not all that evil, just mislead.
Audrey felt her cheeks grow hot as she realized the person wasn't about to leave. Not to mention this person was actually Shana: someone Audrey had met the previous night. Sighing, she turned around... At least the woman didn't look angry, nor did she seem ready to go and tell on her. "Yes, I think I'm going to be fine. The Doctor here works miracles!" she smiled awkwardly, watching the blue-haired woman while filling her glass half-way. This was so embarassing! Without waiting much longer, she quickly put the carton back where it belonged. Hey, she could always pay for the apple and glass of milk later, she'd feel less guilty.
"So, Shana right?... Um, what is this place exactly? The tiny bits I heard last night are a crazy blur..." she hoped that maybe she'd be able to distract herself from the guilt and in turn get a bit more information about this Mutant Haven before heading back to her own Apartment. She slowly rubbed the red apple against her black tank top, then bit into it. The apples were good, but they were just the same as hers back home. Well, that was a relief, it didn't mean the Mansion people had their special, expensive food.

She noticed the look of embarrassment upon Audrey's face, but said nothing of it, she knew how hard it could be the first few days some one was here. Shana his her own bit of nervousness, knowing the girl was nervous for entirely diffrent reasons. She had heard of the Doctors work but had never seen it in action but Audrey was walking proof of what he could do. "I never saw what the doctor could do, i just got here myself from Israel, i can use my powers ok, but the control, more so when im cought off guard can be trouble" she said with a friendly smile, her mutation was a good part of why she was here at least.
"Well i did some research before i got here and i have been here a few weeks now, but basically it seems a school for mutants o learn to use their powers. "In a way it's relaxing as some of us still have issues with their powers, and here, if you make a mistake it's ok, out there the same mistake might get you killed. Many around here have had harsh life's, and ended up here to be with people who understood them and others like me whose life's have been golden in camparison, like myself come to learn to use their powers so they can blend in better with society. " She said basically explaining what she knew in a nutshell about the place, even if her answer had seemed long winded to her. "Back home accidents with my powers, revealed to everyone i was a mutant and the blue hair at 13 did not help either" She said, many had assumed she was just a punk but those who got close and saw her roots knew that was not the case.
Audrey was actually a little stunned that someone from Israel could be here. So, the Mansion was known Internationally then? All that much harder for her to stick around. She'd need to get out of here, maybe tonight. Definitely not another night, she wanted to save the Staff trouble by lending her a room here when she had a perfectly reasonable Apartment a few blocks away. "Israel huh? That's pretty far away. I'm originally from Louisiana, south of the States. I've been in New York for only two weeks now, but I'm finding it pretty interesting. Interesting being an understatement." she grinned a little, the meetings with Slate, Fade, and then Jewel and the bad girls from the Order came back. So much for a new, quieter life.
"So, if you don't mind me asking, what are your powers? I'm a Shapeshifter, if you must know. I can change into other people, I got pretty good control over it... I always had a lot of control over my ability actually. I mean, the transformations are a bit complicated... Um, yeah, I'm dragging on. I'll shut up." she grinned shyly, hoping her big mouth wouldn,t come and bite her in the butt.
Audrey continued listening as Shana spoke of how people here sometimes had hard lives, and for some reason, Audrey could sympathize. She had had a pretty rough life herself, though she seemed to know that her life was a piece of cake compared to some people. She wasn't entirely sure, but something told her Shana had it bad too. Why else would a girl from Israel be here in a Foreign country to learn about her powers? She'd probably been kicked out of the house or something, now that would be bad.
Audrey hadn't entirely been kicked out herself per say, but she really felt as if she was an outcast in her sister's home. Actually, it wasn,t only because of her Mutant powers that she'd felt that way. Her parents had died when Audrey had been only ten. Murdered by killers who have yet to be caught, still after eight years. After a lot of problems with the Court, her oldest sister Haylie, her husband and son had taken in Audrey, but she'd always felt seperated... Locked in her room or out in the city. Haylie had never cared about her younger sister... Maybe others had a hard life, maybe it had been harder then Audrey's, but Audrey felt as if no teenagehood could have been as bad as hers.
"Back home accidents with my powers, revealed to everyone i was a mutant and the blue hair at 13 did not help either"
"Your hair is awesome! And honestly, it's not that bad. It could easily be passed off as dye. Some Mutants out there can't hide the fact that they're Mutants..." Or so she'd heard. Honestly, she'd never met any Mutants who physically, looked like Mutants.

"Yea, intresting it certainly is, everything seems huge from the building to the sheer amounts of people" she said thinking to when she got off at the airport She had no idea what section of the USA Louisiana was, but she did know it was one of the states. NYC seemed to be allergic to normalcy. She was happy however that the meaner people seemed to be in the minority, she had only encounterd a handful of people who were mean, excluding the girls who had attacked audrey, after all she had not really encountered them. Still she wonderd what could happon to people to cause them to act like that in the first place.
"That actually sounds really cool" she said actually quite jealous though she did her best to hide it, oh the things she could do with that ability. Her nervousness would be gone and she would never need to hide again. She mused in her mind about how it might have made life diffrent, but then she might have never met fade. "I am a telekinetic" she said and to show what she meant she dug through her purse, finding a few lipglosses and then she removed her hand from them and the three objects floated in the air then Shana moved them up higher beffore letting them drop back into her handbag.
"Thats true and a lot of people assumed that at first, bt the roots tend to give one away" she said admitting audrey was right for the most part. , even her parents had assumed it was a dye until they saw it would not fade and was still`very vibrant. "Yea their are some out thare that could not pass as human, like that girl with the metal limbs you mentioned" she said thinking back to the previous night, had audrey said that or was it jewel, it escaped her for the moment but that was all right, these things happoned.
Audrey smiled a little at the blue-haired woman before her, taking another bite out of her apple. Oh yes, New York is definitely big. The biggest city she'd ever had the chance to visit in her eighteen years and ten months on this earth. She had to admit, it was also an area with a large amount of Mutant population, she'd learnt that the hard way during these past few days Not that meeting Slate hadn't been easy or enjoyable... In fact, she wanted to see the young man again soon, tell him about what had happened yesterday.
Maybe he knew something she didn't when it came to the Order. After all, Jenny hadn't been so clear. Anyway, before coming here, the young Shapeshifter had never met a Mutant. Or, she wasn't sure she had. Truthfully, anyone could be a Mutant, it was easy enough to hide, if the Mutation wasn't physical. "No matter how strange this place may be though, I think I'll grow to like it here. How about you? Are you planning on returning to Israel in the future?" she asked.
She grinned again as Shana mentioned how cool her powers were. Yeah, they weren't all that bad, if you looked past the gross and painful skin-shedding and bone-breaking. "Yeah, I agree. After the pain wears off, it's a pretty useful thing. I've known about it for six years now, and honestly, I could count on my fingers the number of times I had the chance to use them. It takes a lot of time, and it's very painful." She leaned against the counter, watching Shana with an interested impression on her face.
"I am a telekinetic"
She nodded, grinning again. "Now that's impressive." she said cheerfully, "Have you ever tried something heavier? Something you may not be physically strong enough to lift with your body?" She wasn't being nosy, she was just very curious! Knowing about people's Mutations was a new hobby of hers, even if she'd once been a fool enough to start running at the mention of another Mutant! Ah, that was so three days ago. She was an entirely different person now, no more running!
The roots, yeah that was true too. Though, they'd need to pay close attention ti figure that one out. Mind you, she could have recently dyed them too. "Yea their are some out thare that could not pass as human, like that girl with the metal limbs you mentioned" Audrey couldn,t quite remember if she had been the one to mention Meld. What she did remember about last night had been when she'd said the lady's name though. She could also remember brief words about the Order and the X-men.
There was the sound of footsteps in the hallway, and an early-morning Jewel came into view. Apparently, the anxiety of the first few days wore off, and she was more than comfortable with walking around as she got out of bed - which right now meant messy hair and pj's. Oddly, she was already wearing her bracelets and necklace though. She stopped when she saw the girls, and blinked sleepily. "Oh. Good morning!" she smiled "Good to see you out here, Audrey. Feeling better?" she looked at the blue-haired girl, and for a second she was searching for the name in her memories "Shana, right?"

"Actually, i rather like it here, for me this is a place to begin a new, a new life,, but i might, for now though i like whare i am" she said looking arounf. The mansion was big but it certainly had it's charms to it. The girl explained that her power was painful and time consuming, a pain Aura could gladly endure for such a power, but she kept this to herself, after all within a few years it would not matter anyway, no one would ever no, the vile creature she had been once. "The pain does seem like a down side" she admtted though her thoughts were quite the opposite. "So you do not use it often then" she said almost two herself as the girl had suggested as much. "Worse comes to worse, you could make it in the movies as a stunt double" she said with a playful smile.
"Not really, i know i can lift over twounty pounds with it without to much effort, but each thing i pick up makes it so i can pick up less weight, so i can control many small objects or one larger one, i do have to see the target, but with a few mirrors i can do my hair without lifting a finger" she said, having used her power more practicing applying make up and fixing her hair then actually lifting heavier objects, though the question got her thinking as well.
"your right, good morning to you" she said to Jewel with a smile, she had only met the girl a few days prior when she had helped the other girl to the infirmary. At the very least it meant Jewel was likely a kind and caring person. As she looked out at the sun, she realized that many people would be getting up soon, it might well be time for her to scamper off to her room, but for now she was happy hanging out with these two. "So what do you two like to do?" she asked casually trying her best to make small talk.
Audrey understood that plenty of people had different views then she did when it came to Mutant life. The Order, they were a group of Mutants looking to Dominate the world so it seemed. The Mutants here at the Mansion wanted to live as normal as a life possible, trying to make peace with the Humans. Yeah, Audrey's view on things was close to the Mansion residents, though that was exactly why the Mansion wasn't right for her. She wanted to live a normal life, and a Mansion full of people with special powers wasn't exactly what she'd call normal. So yes, she did understand why some people would stay here and think she was the one that was insane for not wanting to.
"Nah, I think I only used it twenty times or so in the past six years. I try to use it more often lately. You know, so I can get used to it and maybe get stronger? Well, that's my plan anyway. I haven't used my abilities once since I've been in New York." she explained. She knew that she'd probably need to start using them soon, since she had a Job interview coming up at a Bar, where she'd lied and told the owner she was a 25 year-old blonde. She had already stolen the ID card of a blonde stripper she'd crossed a few days ago, now all she needed to do was get used to transforming in her body. She had to do this, because at her young age of nineteen, she couldn't possibly be old enough to work at bars.
"Not really, I know I can lift over twenty pounds with it without to much effort, but each thing I pick up makes it so I can pick up less weight, so i can control many small objects or one larger one, I do have to see the target, but with a few mirrors i can do my hair without lifting a finger."
The young woman was impressed, Telekinesis sounded much cooler, and quite frankly, much more useful. "Hm, I guess it's true what Jenny said about all of the powers being great, and useful for something." she whispered, mostly to herself then to anyone else. She was about to add something, when she heard more footsteps coming in. She wasn't about to try and avoid the person this time however. Finishing up her apple in one big bite, she watched Jewel come in, still in her PJs and with her curly hair in a mess. That would usually be Audrey looking like that when she woke up, but to be honest, she didn't feel comfortable walking around like that yet. Oh well, her jean skirt, knee high leather boots and deep red tank was very comfortable.
"Yeah, good morning Jewel! I'm feeling perfectly better, thanks. How about you?
"So what do you two like to do?"
What should they do? Thinking this question through a little, Audrey gulped down the rest of her milk and proceeded to washing the glass. "I don't know, what do you guys do for fun around here?" she asked, debating whether or not she should hang around with them. She'd planned on leaving at around ten O'clock or something. She was surely not coming back, so why bother hanging out with them?
She chuckled as she poured herself a glass of milk "You sound like I did on my first morning here. All dressed up, looking for food, and no idea what is where" she smiled at Audrey, smoothing her locks back behind her ear. She was wearing a hairpin made of pure silver, in the shape of a rose. "But don't worry, you'll get to know the place quite soon. And the people around here are really friendly." She winked at Shana. She got herself a bowl of cereals too, and turned back to Audrey, picking up on the small talk "So, where did you come from? I mean, before the jewelry shop" she added with a smile.

Shana had trouble considering useing her power less then two sozen times in 6 years, half the time she used it to eat breakfast and it worked out well, as long she held her concentration almost to the exclution of other things, except maybe a conversation though she still had to maintain eye contact with the object which wa soften the tough part. Her power would likely get stronger and Shana wonderd what her true limits really, were. What could dhe do ina decade or so, after all.
"I have never met anyone whose powers could not be used for somthing" she said, though in relaity her experince with Mutants was rather low. And many of the Mutants she had met had never displayed their powers, like David and Sam or even jewel. Still she had a hard tim realizeing why they would get a power they could not use for somthing. Speaking of Jewel the girl did seem very relaxed at the mansion, more to then Audrey now that they wer eboth thare she could make the comparison.
Shana was unsure what she could add, so she was releived when Jewel asked the next question, Shana took a seat. It was so easy to get relaxed here, it still took her by surprise how easily she was acepted here. In her day dreaming a few rnadom peices of silverware left on the table ebgan to float, higher and higher until it left her view in which they dropped back to the table with a small clatter bringing her back to relaity. The secound reason she was here was obvious now, not that she ahd made any effort to keep it secret from anyone. "It's a good thing im limited in what i cna lift" she said shaking her head a bit.
"I have never met anyone whose powers could not be used for somthing,"
Audrey nodded, she'd never met any Mutants before coming to New York. "Honestly, I haven't gotten a chance to meet any Mutant since coming to New York, so I can't really say I've never met any whose Powers can't be used for something either." she admitted, wondering if the way she'd said it made any sense. Oh well, Shana'd probably understand.
Audrey laughed at Jewel's comment about being all dressed up and lost, and then frowned as she continued talking about how she'd know the place soon enough. What? Wait, she wasn,t staying... "I'm not going to stay here... Sorry, but this isn't my place." she explained, though half her mind - that part she couldn't really control, thought that maybe, just maybe visiting a couple of times a week here and there wasn,t a bad idea.
"I'm from Louisiana, I moved here only two weeks ago. So far, I'm falling in love with New York, even the bad parts like yesterday." she paused, "How about you?" and that was when the silverwear clattered back to the table. Audrey jumped, "My god, does that happen often?" she laughed, glancing at Shana.
Jewel looked a little disappointed "Oh. I thought you'd stay... I don't know why I tend to get the idea that most mutants want to live in places like that. It just feels like a safe place. And a prep school. A very nice one. And I've had my share of those..." she smirked as she mixed milk and cereal in her bowl. She stopped when Audrey told them where she came from. "... Louisiana? No way!" she smiled a genuine smile "Which part? I'm from New Orleans." she seemed really excited about meeting someone from close to home... She jumped too when the silverware clattered on the table. "Whoa... telekinesis?" she looked at Shana "Nice. Um, that reminds me..." she was silent for a few seconds, focusing her powers; a tiny tinkling noise could be heard, and a silver earring appeared from under the fridge "Somebody must have lost this. It has been hiding there since I arrived, I just always forget to fish it out. Looks familiar?" she smiled at Shana. This was her way of saying she didn't mind her using her powers, even if it made them jump. Not at all.

She understood what Audrey meant well enough, it was a bit sad she would be leaving them but from the sounds of it, it was not like she would be all that far from them, so she was grateful for that. "Well you'l still be in the xcity so it's not like we can't hang out" she said and she guessed some people just liked to have a place of their own, she could understand that. Each person had to choose their path in life after all forceing them to go a certainw ay would help no one in the end.
Shana was unsure how one could fall in love with the bad parts of the city, more so with what audrey had been through. She was unsure she could really say the same and had no idea about the diffrent parts of the section of US they were speaking of. She guessed most people at the masnion were likely american in decent. Gathering the random peices of silverware that had fallen she tried her best to keep up with the conversation.
Looking a bit embaresed at the lack of control she had just displayed she meekly nodded before speaking. "To often, i am just glad it was not with anything to dangerous this time" she said recalling other times when her powers had lifted large sized knifes, guns and other objects sometimes right from people pockets. "it's not mine, so do you have some form of telekinesis as well?" she asked curiously, maybe if the girl did, she could help her to focus her own powers into somthing that would be less surpriseing to others.
