The Haywire virus wasn’t a nice thing. The fact that it had been able to get out and infect a few people was even worse. He didn’t know that it had gotten out but it wouldn’t be long before he found out. Something as dangerous as that was certainly not something that you could keep hidden. And perhaps it wasn’t something that you wanted to keep hidden. Of course all this was unbeknownst to Streak, who was more interested in catching the little miscreant murderer named Shade than anything else going on his this battle.
Streak continued to look around. He was beginning to wonder if the cloaked man had decided to run away. As he walked around the hallway he periodically spun around. There were noises that were throwing him off of what was real and what was his mind was making things up. In this situation this was not a good thing. So far… nothing. Then suddenly, there was a loud noise. It was the noise of a shattering window. The silver mutant didn’t know where the blade had come from, only that it had been thrown by his adversary as a distraction. And since Streak couldn’t see that well he needed to avoid getting the infamous deer-in-the-headlights look.
As soon as his brain had registered what had happened, his brain told him what to do. It said Look out! Sneak attack! Dive! and so dive he did. Streak dove. He didn’t care in what direction. It was away from the shattering glass and he hoped he dove in a direction away from Shade. The dive turned into more like a graceful fall as he felt Shade’s leg brush his in an attempt to knock him down. So instead of doing a graceful diving roll, it turned into a less than graceful dive with a land on his shoulder. Streak was just barely able make out an outline of Shade’s leg. As he slid across the floor he aimed a blade at where he thought Shade’s thigh might be. It was worth a shot. And it’d make it harder for him to go anywhere if Streak happened to be lucky enough to have his blade make contact with the Order members leg.
