The cab dropped him off at the gate with a solemn goodbye. Draikhein Mcfarren, Draik to some, was at the beginning of a new life. With accepntance letter in hand he made his way into the gates. Little did he know that cameras where watching his every move as he made his way past subtle security measures ment to keep out those that did not belong.

Draikhein was watching as students were walking around the campus looking towards the newcomer. He looked down at his long brown trench coat he wore to hide his condition. His condition little did he know was one this school was well aware of. Part of the reason he was getting some looks was his choice of clothing, he was wearing a large brown trench coat, and a pair of large baggy pants. On a normal winter day that would not be so crazy, but the fact was this day was exceptionally warm. The only reason of course that he wore these was to his the fact that under the coat was a pair of dragon like wings, and the baggy pants his his lower half of his body which was the form of a dragon. The tricky part was hiding the tail, with involved bending it in a very uncomfortable way, but it had to be done.

As he reached the Mansion itself he was awestrucken, in his life the only time he had seen building this large was when he took that college tour up at Kansas State. Nowhere in his farming town was there even a building this large, not even the hospital. He knew he was going to get lost, it was going to be too easy.

Raptor looked at the newcomer, he felt an uneasiness about him and flicked his eye onto scanner mode quickly taking in every single detail of him from his trainers to his coat he could tell the boy was hiding something as he brushed a strand of brown hair out of his eyes. He felt slightly uneasy about today as if something bad was going to happen if so his metallic fist he had left uncovered he clenched it and twisted it around to make sure it was working still.

He remembered his first day here as well, he had felt nervous and sweaty but slightly happy and quite sad that he had to leave his new family in Africa. He zoomed in on the guys face checking his details and matching them to the various files he could get into from the schools computer he walked over to him smiling light heartedly there was a large scar next to the tattoo on his head. He kept his eyes open for any funny tricks going on knowing that if something bad was going to happen he was ready to act with lightning speed.

It was a particularly hot day today which further confirmed his suspicions that the new guy was hiding something from him from the way he was dressed you could figure that out if you didn't know anything about him.
"Draikhein Mcfarren?" he asked gently "My name is Jan Cadre or Raptor welcome to Xavier's Academy," he offered his metal hand for him to shake

He looked to the hand a bit taken back, but he took his hand from his own coat pocket taking from it a glove he had on. Draikhein too Jan's hand shaking it, the back of Draikhein's hand had a patch of green upon it, that looked almost scale like. Draikhein said to him, "Thank you. I assume you are the one I am supposed to meet. The letter was kind of vague abut that part." He said as he held up the letter in his hand, "Raptor that is a strange nickname, I am almost afraid to ask how you got it." He said as he looked up to the mansion, "It sure is big." His voice had a southern tone to it, and the words seemed kind of slowed, he was not the smartest person, or atleast his voice portrayed that, but for now people could only speculate.

"Lets just say its nothing to do with the bird of prey," he said laughing and smiling, "I know of your Mutation Draikhein this," he said pointing to his robotic eye "Automatically scans for any new lifeforms within the area and documents them depending on their mutation and such," he smiled again then looked at it from Draiks points of view it definitely was big but to him he had seen prisons bigger and a lot less welcoming. He clenched his fist tightly thinking of bad memories but he didn't want to spoil anything for Draik so he just kept smiling he noted the accent and the slowed speech but that didn't matter to him he couldn't talk properly till he was eighteen so he pushed that point aside as well.
"It is big very big the first time you see it," Raptor said softly "I guess this makes us buddies," he said smiling

He was a bit taken back. His mutation was not new to him, but he did not think he would meet anyone else that was near like he was. He just thought the diseas, as he called it, was so rare that there weren't very many of them around. He obviously was not up on world wide news, he looked to him saying softly, "If you know about me..then you would know if there were others like us here.." He said looking around, "I mean if there are then maybe that was why I received this acceptance letter. All the other schools turned me down, saying I did not have the book smarts to join. Although I think they saw something in my medical records that turned them away...I knew I shouldn't have let my doctor know about it.." the last bit he said almost to himself. It was true, when his dragon wings where first growing he was scared, and paniced going to the doctor first who filled out the paperwork for him to come in later, they were going to try to remove the growth. But when he passed out and awoke in the barn a week later he was completely changed into his form he is now.

Raptor smiled then laughed then stopped feeling it inappropriate for the situation
"This robot stuff isn't a mutation just a curse even I find it slightly annoying when I am trying to get a can of coke or a drink and my mechanical hand crushes it that makes me mad but apart from that you get used to it after a while," He had made a mental note to leave his X tattoo visible on his head to make sure anyone who saw it knew were he was from and that he didn't give a crap if anyone took the p*ss out of him
"Well I came here about a year ago from a high security prison then I was kidnapped by the military made into a walking abomination now I'm back with a vengeance," he smirked and scratched his cheek little flakes of skin disappeared and the glint of metal was visible he noticed this and shrugged bad habits never die he thought to himself smiling "Do you want to see my true mutation,"

He nods looking to to him. "Sure.." He decided that if this place had many like him, perhaps he should show what he truly was. Taking off his jacket his draconic wings could be seen, they had been folded tightly and binded down. But him stretching them out broke the binds easily, and seemed not to cause any pain on him. His draconic tail, which up to this point had been bent to a very uncomfortable position, relaxed drooping to the ground behind him. Under the coat he was wearing a short sleeve button up shirt with a plaid imprint upon it. His skin upon his arms contained small patches here and there of dark green scales. The same color as his wings where. The green greatly contrasted against his red-brown hair. He smiled as he stretched his wings out, "Much better..but I am sure you knew about all this..but they.." He pointed to some of the students passing who where a bit shocked, but looks upon their face seemed as if they have seen stuff like this before, "They all are mutants like us..? Or just mostly accepting of the fact..?"

Raptor smiled and flicked his bionic eye onto photo and took it with a slight clicking sound.
"Need a photo to make sure that your real," he took note of everything from the soles of his shoes to the amount of hairs on his head when the students looked at him one quick glare silenced any critics and made them walk off as they spoke he laughed "Your mutation is one that beautiful," he smiled Draiks mutation reminding him of his own "Your mutation makes you lizardlike as does mine," he said.
He turned into his raptor form his nose growing outwards his mouth following suit his teeth growing into razor like daggers his eyes growing larger his bionic eye stayed bionic but the pupil on his other eye grew into a black slit one of his arms became larger and hsi fingers melted together to form steak knife claws only one of his arms howver turned scaly the other was robotic his back grew downwards and longer a tail grew out of it his neck extended and his legs fitted to his new position forming killing claws only of his legs however was organic the other was synthetic made of metal powered by robotics it was the ultimate killing machine the creation that God made when he was high on drugs he was a Utah Raptor and he hunted to kill.

He stepped back after seeing the transformation. It was something he did not expect. Strange this man could change at will. He knew that if there were others here like him he should expect to see much of this sort of thing around. He said after the transformation, "We are both like Lizards." He said looking at his now 'true' form. He still had the bionics as he did before, but it seemed to go with the effect that was there. Draikhein said after a little more silence, "There is more to this place then just a school isn't there...Some kind of military group or something.." It was the first real smart thing he has said in a while. He was a bit interested he remembered reading comic books growing up. With out a TV in his house for most his childhood his father would bring him a comic book from the town everyday he went out there. He figured there were groups like that out there, but he never thought he would ever get asked to come to a place that they worked at, nor ever even having them think about him joining. But if there was one here, he was very interested in joining their ranks, if they would accept him.

Tricity 'waddled' her way down the hallway clutching her stomach in a bit of pain. She was on her way to her office when she noticed a new face standing with Raptor. She walked over to the two with a smile and recognized the face of the newcomer because of the records Xavier had given for his arrival. She nodded to Raptor before turning to the guest. "Hello. I'm Tricity...or Miss Tipper if ya like. I can't remember you're name at the moment, but you've received your acceptance letter, I take it?"

He nodded holding up the acceptance letter, "Yes Ma'am, I have. Although I do not rightly remember putting in an application. Although I might have, or my parents might have. We tried so many colleges, and job offers, the Application was kind of hazy on whether this was a Job or College..." He didn't know too much about what kind of job an institute like this might have for him, but he would need a job to pay for any learning he might partake in here, "Or if it is for college, is there any place hiring near here...I would need money to pay for the tuition and such here.." He was a bit slow, but he held out the letter for the woman, he didn't know if she would need it or not, but better to let her have it. She could probably decipher it better then he.

Tricity read over the letter and then handed him his 'welcome' envelope. "You needn't worry about a job to pay for tuition. It's free here. Room and board...all that. We give college courses here, depending on what you are looking to study." She nodded to the packet. "There's a lot of information in there. We have other jobs around here if you would like to make some extra money for your own spending purposes, but like I said, you needn't worry about things like tuition here. My guess would be Charles Xavier and/or your parents set this up for you. But, either way, welcome!"

He smiled as he was welcomed to the school, free room and board, he was very lucky to be accepted to such a place. He smiled, why did the name Xavier sound familar in his head. He just brushed it off for a bit and looked to her, "Well, I was thinking taking some jobs in Criminal Justice, but I would need to talk to a career counselor about that wouldn't I.." He asked, "I have always wanted to fight crime and such, like a cop...but with my condition I think it is going to be rather hard.." he said motioning towards his wings. He chuckled a bit, more of a force laugh, it was a touchy subject to him. He picked up his suitcase which opened up spilling it's contents clothing, and a variety of comic books tokens from his childhood. Kneeling down Draikhein began policing up his belongings.

Tricity bent down VERY slowly to help him pick his things up. "Well, we have a group called the X-Men here...it's a team of mutants who try and keep the peace between humans and mutants. As I'm sure you are aware of, things can become pretty tense sometimes," she said, using the wall as a brace to stand once more. "Perhaps you can join us one day? I have to ask, standard procedure, about your mutation...can you tell me everything about it?"

He smiles hearing the offer to Join, "I would love that...sounds like something from these comics I read when I was a kid." He stood as he had finished gathering his things, "Thank you for the help," hearing her question he replied, "Well, it started when I was about twelve or so, I grew these little bumps on my back, which itched like crazy. After a week or so the skin around the bumps turned green and scaley, and the bumps where much larger. We went to the Docter to see what was the matter, and the Docter was stumped. He just told us to wait another week and see what would become of it. He didn't say it was worth worrying over. Well, my father had a farmer's conference to go to at Kansas City and my mother was to go with him. They left me at the farm alone, I don't remember much after that I passed out the second day or so and awoke in the barn like this. From what my mother said I look like a cross between a human and a dragon. Although I don't think I have any other of the Dragon qualities, but my father said once he swore a few sparks emitted from my mouth one time when I was furious at a horse we were trying to saddle train that had kicked me off. Also it seems like I am alot stronger then what I once was. I don't know how strong, but I know I can drive a wooden fence pole into the ground with a good swing. Mind you some fence poles can be up to six feet tall." retelling the event seemed effortless, like it was branded into his memory. Which in a way it was, it was a major life changing event, it would happen to anyone if something like that happened.
