Alec smiled as he was once again under the impression that Raina was feeling embarrassed in his presence. Fortunately she was one of the females that actually spoke with him and managed to have a normal conversation, one thing that happened on very rare occasions.
“What brought me to the Mansion?” Alec repeated with a thoughtful look on his face. Ghostly faces in my dreams and the weight of the blood on my hands. he answered mentally but no emotion was shown on the outside. “Let’s say I want to pay some mistakes I’ve done in my past and being here is the only way I can do it. I want peace.” Alec let out a loud breath. “I want to be an X-Man.” There. He had said it and it wasn’t that difficult either.

Raina nodded. "Well... I can relate." she said thinking of her own origins. 'And if you'd like to be an x-man... then I'm one of the few to see." she added. "We have a system to weed out people who want it and people who think they want it..." she explained having a gut feeling Alec would simply take that as it was. He didn't seem to need things thrown at him in obvious ways. "You start out as a trainee and need a few training sessions... then we start sending you out on smaller missions..." she continued to explain the process. "If you like, I can set up a session for you. You need at least one of us leaders there. But if you'd prefer a guy instead... Streak... Cold Steel... we can do that."

Alec simply nodded as Raina explained the system that the X-Men used to get their members. “Of course, I understand. It’s a well thought system.” he added. While in ACE, the same system was being used and it wasn’t just one step up the ladder you needed to take to be a full member but several and pretty damn hard. Being a trainee for a while seemed perfectly fine with him.
“ And…” a small smirk appeared on his face as he spoke “it won’t bother me if I have the training session with you.” His smirk turned into a laugh. “I’m not the one to think that women are weaker. Especially not in mutant world.” Alec leaned closer as if telling her a secret. “Tell you something.” He looked around playfully, seeming that he was checking if someone was nearby. “I’m sure that if you wanted you can kick my butt in no time.”

Raina blushed again and gave an embarrassed giggle. "I've been known to kick a few butts..." she replied "freeze a few as well." she grinned. "Ok well..." she tinkered a few notes on the piano as she thought "I think I'm booked up for the rest of the week between the mansion and my job at the aquarium... and of course there's the pool party this weekend..." she thought out loud. "But how about next week? We could set up a small training session... just to get you started. if you're comfortable there's a few others looking to train as well... and it might be more beneficial to have more than you and me."

An eyebrow quirked at the red head as he grinned at her. “Ah, well, I have a special talent to recognize tough women.” he joked. Alec listened carefully as she spoke, well, better said, thought out loud and waited for her to finish before speaking himself. “That sounds really great, Raina. I appreciate it.” He was serious about it, it was another step onto the path he had chosen and he would do it with the help of the red haired beauty in front of him. Alec leaned away, the smile reappearing on his face. Now that serious business has been talked about… “So, you work at the aquarium?”
