The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

As Syn made her way to sit down she didn't find it hard to catch Seizure eyeballing her from head to toe. A slight smirk quirked up on the right side of her mouth. Once seated she acknowledged the man's subtle nod with a nod of her own. She wondered what he had been discussing with the younger Katrina.
In fact, Katrina answered to Syn's curiousity. "I'm glad you have decided to visit then my dear. I hope you have had the opportunity to see your friends, and you are most welcome to stay the night with us." That invitation would never be heard by those under Tricity's command unless they saw the light shown by the Order and had decided to devote themselves to the cause. However, in Katrina's case Syn felt it best to continue to show kindness and friendship to the girl. Perhaps in doing so she may be persuaded to see things the same way as those already staying in Sanctuary.
Isabel arrived and Syn was a little surprised at her old friend. The bone girl had put on something that actually looked relaxed and comfortable. A garment much unlike the dresses Syn was acustomed to seeing her friend wear. "Evening Isabel."
They were soon joined by yet another female. Syn immediately noticed the red shirt. Afterall, red is one of her favorite colors. Her attention then moved to the new girls fingeres as there seemed to be a pinkish energy passing from finger to finger. Syn also noticed the girls green eyes as they were trained on Syn as well. Though the girl chose to lean against a wall Syn gestured to the various chairs still unoccupied. "Why don't you come join us over here my dear?"
Isabel quirked a brow curiously at the young man's wandering gaze as both she and Syn were greeted, though an amused smile remained. It appeared as if her change of clothing had caused a minor stir, though she supposed it was only to be expected due to the extreme differences that lay between her bedtime clothing and her daytime attire. While she'd been changing up her most common outfit in small ways every now and again, mainly due to activities that had been planned with Bane, her pajamas still held the most contrast. They were also far more comfortable to sleep in. It wasn't often that she wandered through the Sanctuary in her pj's, but restless night sometimes called for a little comfortable wandering before bed.
Her attention shifted over toward the doorway as Seizure spoke and Aura entered, her smile now directed as a greeting for the junior Order member. It was a lovely coincidence. Isabel always did enjoy spending time with her Orderlings. They were like her family and she loved them all very dearly. It seemed as if she spent more time out playing with the humans than she did relaxing with her companions. She didn't particularly like that fact even though she did love playing with her human toys. It looked like this little opportunity that had presented itself would remedy the unfavorable statistics for a little while.
Looking back to the unfamiliar young girl as she was called to, Isabel took up the offer and stepped further into the room as Syn and Aura also exchanges greetings. Picking one of the plush chairs at random, she crawled up onto the cushions, tucking her feet up under her and leaning her weight against one of the arms of the piece of furniture. Her toes always seemed to get a little chilly when she walked around barefoot, especially since most of the Sanctuary's floors seemed to be made out of stone, which was almost always cold. "I don't think we've ever met before. You don't live at the Sanctuary, do you?" she inquired, speaking to the young girl that had invited her to join her and Garrett. She couldn't remember ever having seen the girl around her home before. "What's your name? I'm Isabel."
I’m just a well-adjusted gal who likes to leave a serious amount of mayhem in her wake.
Aura blinked a few times not quite realizing at first what the girl was asking, then following the girls eyes she realized she meant her aura. "it is my ability, i can manifest my aura then harden it in places for various effects" She said and to Demonstrate her aura began to become visible her Aura appeared this time around her entire body, the see through pink, seemed to flow as Aura raised her hand forming a hammer like object with it then that melted into a fork like object before she gave her mental command to make the Aura fade until it could no longer be seen. The Aura could fade and appear quite quickly but Aura could choose to harden it only when it was visible.
Giving a nod to Syn Aura walked across the room, glancing at jaxson with a brief smile as she moved to the Area Syn indicated and took a seat upon one of the chairs, leaning back a bit, through her green eyes scanned the room every few minutes. Running a hand through her hair, she formed her aura around her fingers sweeping some of her stray hair away from her face, growing annoyed with one lock in particular, she made the blade sharp and cut the offending hair from her head, the few strands landing in her lap. Seeing Isabel greet the girl she smiled to her as well and with a slight nod greeted her as well. "I am Aura and i believe we also have not met" she said not bothering to ask the girls name as Isabel had already done so.
Aura was glad each person in the room was of her own kind, Humans made things get messy frequently and she was quite sure that was not the route needed at this time. Still playing with Humans was always fun. Curious to how things would progress the young girl waited.
(Sorry guys. Didn't realize it was my turn. Give me a poke next time, lol)
Garrett's sidelong glances weren't as subtle as he would have liked. Syn's ego was properly inflated though, which always improved her mood. Isabel had even noticed. He was appearing to be a lech, though the truth was more of the fact of his being male and surrounded by scantily clad females. Short of blindness or homosexuality, any man would have wandering eyes. He shifted around in his seat, a bit uncomfortable with the ratio he had secretly lauded over before.
Little Katrina was getting on famously already. Her positive attitude was infectious, though he could rarely tell if Order members actually latched on to those kinds of things. He always felt a sense of paranoia and distrust in them. It could as easily have been a reflection of his own feelings in that category. Nevertheless, he felt a romantic comedy or pillow fight was in the works, neither of which seemed very appealing to him. He couldn't leave her alone with the women here though. As capable and independent as she was, the people around her were experts of manipulation.
Attempting a break in the otherwise stifling boredom that was setting in, Garrett racked up the balls on the pool table. He rolled a cue across the green felt, insuring the shaft was straight and true. A bit of chalk on the crease between forefinger and thumb and some of the blue chalk on the tip. He leaned in to the shot and a pronounced cracking sound shattered the peace of the room as the various balls shot around the table in disarray. Scoping out shots in a measured manner, he paced slowly around the table.
Syn was just as nice as Katrina had remembered her being, and even invited her to stay the evening. Truthfully, Abyss had already invited her, but it was good to know that the other residents didn't mind.
“Thanks,” she responded with a pleasant smile, “I might have to borrow some pajamas, since I forgot to bring any. I guess I didn't pack very carefully.”
The girl with the green bow in her hair, Isabel she called herself, also liked to remain barefoot it seemed. She could totally understand that. She was a little sensitive about things that were uncomfortable and shoes tended to be the worst. She could go a whole summer without wearing them. She tried to go the whole winter, too, but if she went outside at all it meant shoes were necessary for avoiding cold toes and frost bite. Katrina snuggled her own toes under the blanket Garrett had brought over. “Nice to meet you Isabel. I'm Katrina. If your toes get cold too, I've got some extra blanket here by the way.” Garrett had moved over to start setting up the pool table for a game, so there was also an open spot on the couch next to her, or in front since she was sitting sideways.
“Nope, I don't live here, I'm just visiting because Abyss is here. I think he went in search of pajamas or pillows or something. I live at Xavier's. It's convenient for going to school there. My parents pretty much signed me up the moment they realized I was a mutant, or rather my mom realized. My dad was clueless for a long time. Then I pretty much ended up at the resistance then next day, with Syn and Abyss and a bunch of other people for the whole school year.”
During the pink aura demonstration, she watched curiously to see what the older girl was doing. It seemed like the aura was a soft pink light that she could make solid, like a handy fork if she forgot to pack one with her lunch or a knife to trim annoying strands of hair.
“That's cool! What does it feel like? Does it have to be attached to you? If you make it solid around yourself can you still breathe? Does it stretch, or maybe bounce? How far does it reach?” Katrina stopped just short of adding a request to feel it for herself, deciding at the last moment that it might be weird to ask a person you just met if you could touch their aura. Maybe it was a little like personal space that shouldn't be crossed over. The young girl closed her mouth before that last question escaped, but it was probably obvious that she had been about to say something and had changed her mind. Her curiosity tended to do that to her; once she thought of a question about a hundred more instantly spawned like question zombies.
One more zombie made it through her defenses, “So, this is a random question, but why does the Sanctuary have golden doors?”

Though most of the people in the room didn’t notice her, something that Jax was grateful for at the moment, she did give a small wiggle of her fingers to Aura in a half wave and a smile. Despite the fact that Aura had noticed her no one else seemed to so, Jax left for a moment to change into loose khaki pants and a soft purple shirt, but remaining barefoot.
When she returned Romeo was at her side and she remained at the peripheral of the group, staying near the door. Romeo, however, had no problem strolling the room sniffing at whatever took his interest. The large black shepherd huffed at some of the shelves, then the back of the couch, then finding an interesting scent on the rug and following it.
It was an interesting power the girl with the pink aura had. She could shape it to any way she wished. That must be very useful. "Very impressive Miss..." Syn left her sentenced open to allow the girl to introduce herself.
A glance in the direction of Seizure revealed a man in heaven. Though Syn couldn't argue with his mindset given the fact that there were several very beautiful females now in the room. The dark girl gave a smirk and a slight head shake.
Her attention was then given to Katrina once more. The girl sounded pleased that she was able to stay the night in Sanctuary. That's exactly how Syn wanted the girl to feel at the moment. Then Katrina stated that she didn't have anything to sleep in. "That's not a problem Katrina. I'm sure we can find something for you to wear for the night."
Just a few moments later yet another female entered the recreation area. Syn had never seen this girl before either. It seemed she was a bit behind on keeping up with new arrivals. This girl was short and had dark hair, but that wasn't the most noticeable thing. That would be the animal that accompanied her. "Nice pet you have there."
Isabel smiled to the young girl at the polite greeting and the invitation to share a blanket should her toes get cold. "Nice to meet you as well, Katrina. I may take you up on that offer if I can't keep my feet warm by myself," she replied, wriggling a little to adjust her position slightly and maximize her comfort for the moment. The young girl was very pleasant. Isabel hadn't dealt much with children in the past, though this particular one seemed to be of the slightly older breed of child. It appeared as if she'd be easy enough to get along with.
She hadn't been aware that Abyss had any connections to the young girl, particularly since she'd never been seen around the Sanctuary before. Isabel wondered how long they'd know each other and where they could have met. Certainly with seven Big Guys it was easier to make more acquaintances, she was just curious as to where such a young girl would have bumped into any of them.
Apparently she didn't have to wonder very long as the girl continued to explain where she lived and how she'd met up with not only Abyss, but also with Syn. While Isabel didn't particularly approve of the girl's living situation, she couldn't really place any blame on someone so young, particularly since it had been her parents' idea. It was also interesting to see such a young mutant. At least she wasn't an X-Nerd. Or at least, Isabel assumed she wasn't. She didn't think they would allow younger individuals to join their ranks, though she didn't doubt they were filling her head with human-friendly nonsense. "Well any friend of Abyss and Syn is a friend of mine. I'd love to see more of you around here, Katrina."
She gave a small start at the sound of one pool ball cracking against another, her head swiveling so she could locate the source of the noise before settling back down again. She gave a small huff, mainly in response to her own reaction, her attention shifting to the animal snouting through the room. "I think the golden doors are supposed to be like a beacon. Something easily seen by all the mutants around here," she replied to Katrina's question, her gaze occasionally flickering between the girl and the animal. "There's almost always been positive associations with golden doors, and we're here to give a positive experience to any and all mutants that come through those doors. They're a symbol of hope, I think."
I’m just a well-adjusted gal who likes to leave a serious amount of mayhem in her wake.
Aura was a bit overwhelmed with all the questions and took a moment to before responding to Katrina. Aura had never considerd a few of the questions. "As far as i know, it does not feel like anything really, it sorta stretches withing a few inches of my body i guess. I think i may be able to improve that with time though, but im pretty sure it can not bounce" Aura said hoping she had actually answerd all the girls questions and missing any implication of further questions.Aura was glad when the girl's attentioned shifted from her to the golden doors. That was a question Aura had never considerd herself, Aura eyes turned to the dog as soon as it enterd, she was curious about the animal and cought jax at the edhe of the room figuring it was the dog she had spoken of.
Looking at the pool balls breaking she smiled rmemebering the game she had tried to play with Geo. It had not gone well and she thought geo had stopped becuse she really was not getting the game to well. Aura was on sure what the x-mansion was like but from those she had met that lived thare she was fairly sure she did not wnat to bbe thare, though this girl seemed diffrent. She enjoyed the girls bright and cheerful personality.

One of the women, with red and black hair, spoke to the younger girl who apparently needed something to wear for the night. From what Jaxon could gather, the younger girl, Katrina, had come over and was now going to stay the night but had nothing to wear. Then the same woman spoke to her.
Jax nodded. “Thank you… That’s Romeo.” Jaxon listened as Isabel spoke with Katrina, slightly amused at her reaction to the pool balls noise, but she knew better than to show it. Instead she lingered, not sure why. Something about Katrina was giving Jax inspiration, so she remained, thinking and listening.
As satisfying as sinking a few shots with relative ease was, the room was still realtively silent. What was making it so? A bunch of girls in pajamas, plenty of forms of entertainment. Perfect slumber party, right? It had apparently taken a while for the obvious to make itself known to Garrett. Slumber parties didn't include boys in general. He chuckled to himself and put the cue back where he had found it, sliding the balls in pockets by hand.
Walking through the room, he smiled at the various women, stopping only to crouch and speak to Katrina. "I'm glad you came over , Katrina. Have a good time with the girls. I am sure you will be safe and have lots of fun. You are always welcome to come visit, day or night, with permission or not." Standing, he surveyed the various females in the room. " Night, Ladies. Hopefully you can eat popcorn, do hair and whatever else occurs at these things. I'm going to hit the sack."
With that, he made a little bow and wave and walked down the hall to his room. Closing the door behind him, he surveyed the cramped little space he generally slept in. Most of the office was boxes of ledgers and research, save for this corner with a cot and a chest of drawers. " Looks like office is winning." He smiled to himself and slipped his shirt off, turning off the lights.
Panic. Sure and simple panic. Ghost had never seen Mrs. Dumonde cry, but she would have promised just about anything to make it stop. Even if it meant scouring every corner of New York, trendy Manhattan, the subway, the police station... last on that list was the Sanctuary. And she wasn't going there alone. Not that she didn't trust the Sanctuary residents after they had gone berserk over some ugly doors and mortally wounded a few friends. No, Sebastian lived there so they couldn't all be bad right? And Garret was there too... yeah, she definitely wasn't going alone.
Ghost timidly pulled open the heavy golden doors for Koga and Sam. They would talk to Lisa, show her the picture they'd been flashing around town and that would be it, right? If she wasn't here, they'd have to maybe try to figure out where Mondragon Labs had been. Because they'd been pretty much every where else. Her feet hurt now.
Lisa's smile was infectious as usual. Ghost couldn't help but feel some companionship with the woman even if she was working for some confused and often violent individuals. "Excuse me, we're looking for a Miss Katrina Dumonde. She's uhm about this tall," she held up her hand just below her shoulder, "and 13 years old. You haven't seen her have you?"
Koga slinked to the side of the big doors and Looked up at Coldsteel with a determined nod he took a breath and looked away from Cs. He blended in with the wall kicked off his boots, tossed his shirt on the ground, and dropped his jeans. He purposefully only wore the shirt and Jeans. He was the naked. but no one would have known it with out staring at the od optical trick up against the walls. He climbed up the door way and entered on the ceiling. He then Quietly and cautiously crawled along the ceiling and followed a pair of late entering teens. He was hoping for the best as far as the order folk were concerned but from what he had Seen it wasn't all that much too offer. He sized up the pair below him now in the elevator, how they hadn't noticed him in the top corner of the Elevator was almost perplexing, The pair were talking below him about who made more money tonight, by pick pocketing and while he would have condemned the pair not to long ago, he learned some things about street survival for a mutant in the big city from one of his favorite mentors.
He kept his breathing steady and as quiet as he could. He followed the pair into a long hall way, it had the feeling of a dorm, it was like the mansion but a bit more gritty.

As he approached the doors with a slight sigh as a sense of Deja vu donned on him. It had been at least a year and a half since he last stood where he was now, alone and looking for a place to stay some where safe and remembering that Sanctuary was mutant friendly he was more than happy to check it out. However given past clashes between the members of the sanctuary and his friends back at the mansion Sam wasn’t as excited to be there a second time. Especially given the current circumstances, Katrina running away and Ghost going alone. There was no way in hell he would let Ghost go here alone.
Despite his current feelings about checking the Sanctuary he still wore his usual optimistic smile, one that seemed friendly to all despite previous meetings or fights. Looking away as Koga stripped down to his skibbes he quickly picked up the clothes and tossed them in the backpack on his back, “You have at least a half hour to find her, we need to be gone by then if she isn’t here got it?” he said quietly as Ghost opened the doors and entered the large building.
Passing the giant golden doors that was now burned into his memory to be forever associated with the Order and Raina’s birthday party. It was a day that he would like to forget about. The head receptionist was a strange as he could remember, not so much as scary just…strange as Ghost spoke to Lisa an erie smile was shot back at them one that Sam decided to return then looked around to see if Koga had got a move on to one of the most important missions Sam had ever assigned him. Turning his attention back to Lisa he added to ghost, “She ran away from home and her mother is worried sick…”
Syn was a woman who communicated with few words and many subtle gestures. She seemed pleased to have Kat there, but that was as much as Katrina could tell. Most likely it would take a long time of knowing this woman to be able to read her every gesture. Katrina's overall impression, though, was that Syn liked to let others do most of the talking while she sat back and listened. What she said was not perhaps as important to her as what she heard. Her green eyes seemed to be calculating everything the rest of the Sanctuary girls were saying, perhaps even everything Katrina was saying.
Isabel seemed very welcoming, like she didn't mind at all that a little girl from the mansion would come over for a sleep over. If she wasn't so tall and obviously older than herself, Katrina could almost have imagined Isabel being in some of her classes at school.
>>>"Well any friend of Abyss and Syn is a friend of mine. I'd love to see more of you around here, Katrina."
Isabel was also the one that explained the meaning behind the golden doors. They were certainly a highly noticeable symbol, and it made the Sanctuary very easy to find. If they wanted to give hope to mutants that had no other place to live, it seemed like it would be a very fitting icon.
Katrina nodded in agreement to the girl's final statement; hope was a necessary thing in this world. She could almost see how if something like that got stolen, a group of people would want to get it back. If it was planted somewhere, it was easy to see how they might blame the people who had possession of it for its theft. Perhaps the fight over those doors had all been a misunderstanding that had gotten too carried away. Someone had started it, but no one might ever know who would play such a joke.
Aura obliged to answer Katrina's curious questions about her powers: kind of stretchy, not bouncy, and without any particular feeling. Katrina nodded, listening to everything. Powers that had a physical manifestation were interesting. Her own ability didn't actually make anything real, so someone who could create something from nothing like that seemed very different from her own powers.
Then Aura, and several of the others in the room as well, were distracted by the big black snuffling shadow of a dog that had entered, accompanied by its owner that lingered even more shadow-like in the doorway.
>>>“That's Romeo,” she informed them all, but said nothing else. Even more than Syn, she seemed to want to listen. Her listening seemed less confident than Syn's, though, almost shy. Katrina waved and smiled at her, trying to be friendly, trying to send the message that these other girls were quite nice, no need to fear them whatsoever. As for the dog sniffing at the edge of the rug where her shoes were waiting, Katrina scratched his back as he walked by.
Seizure seemed to have grown tired of his solo game of pool, and bid them all good night.
>>>"I'm glad you came over , Katrina. Have a good time with the girls. I am sure you will be safe and have lots of fun. You are always welcome to come visit, day or night, with permission or not."
Wasn't that blanket permission right there? It was good enough for her. “Thanks, I'll try to come again soon. Thank you for talking with me. Sweet dreams!” She waved and smiled at his suggested activities for the rest of their now all-girl evening. Maybe they'd even do some of those girly things, like painting their nails and having pillow fights.
Katrina didn't realize that just then the rest of the mansion residents were frantically looking for her. She had gotten distracted from her own little private home drama by all the new faces here and wasn't thinking about how other people would react to her disappearance. She had assumed that her mother would just storm off to her room and stay there for the rest of the night. She never suspected that she would be missed at home, or perhaps some subconscious part of her chose to ignore the idea. She wasn't ready to go home and face her mother, therefore her mother probably didn't want to see her yet either. Right? The thoughts sat on the back burner of Katrina's mind, just barely simmering, and she wasn't even thinking about that small little pot when there were much more interesting things on the stove to pay attention to.
Now that Garrett was gone, she was left with all girls older than herself who knew each other better than she knew them. It was almost as if she had ended up at an older sisters' slumber party, not that she had any sisters to compare. She wasn't quite sure what she should say now. She scratched Romeo's ears as he made a second pass past her couch, then got an idea.
“Has anyone ever played the storytelling game where everyone gets to add a piece of the story? It's a good game for sleep overs. Here, I'll start. It was a dark and stormy summer night. Wind rattled the windows in the bedroom that the two little children shared. A boy and a girl huddled together, sharing one thin blanket. Their names were...”
She left the sentence hanging so the next person could fill it in. She was curious to see how the story would turn out with so many people contributing.
