The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

~~"Do you guys like to match clothing, or do you all have your own style? Do you borrow each other's stuff since you are all the same size? Do you each have your own rooms, or do the others sleep in the abyss? Do you all go shopping together?"
“um, we like the same Hi end style, I don’t know what it is about the pinstripe mobster stuff, but we all agree on it. We are constantly having to reclaim items from each other, most of the time we buy seven of whatever we get unless it is house clothes. Though some of us wear different stuff, Mercury is the only one that owns a cowboy hat and boots.” He grinned “He think he is an out law sometimes... Think if you had six sisters wanting your shoes.” He smiled at the thought of seven Katrina’s running around.” We all have our on rooms and use them quite a bit lately, though sometimes the guys want the void which is fine with me. Its odd but sometimes my mind is lonely all on its own. And we do a lot of stuff together; we are still really tight knit. So there isn’t a whole lot we don’t do.”
If there was one thing that his brothers had taught him it was how to keep up with a conversation, this girl would have to kick it up another gear to make him loose track, she could probably do it, and so he wouldn’t challenge her.
~~"It's okay, I'm full,"
“Oh, well that’s good then.”
~~ "Let's go find the others. I want to see if they like them, too!"
“Sounds good.”
He grinned at her and waved her to follow along, putting the large cup into a trash can with both of the disposable spoons and the pile of used napkins leaving the unused ones right where they were. As they walked and maneuvered to their hall way he wined at Katrina and then shouted down the hallway. “Hey You Guys!”
Abyss kept up with the questions fairly well, passing level one. The next time she'd up the curiosity to level two.
Katrina did as she was told and imagined six sisters wanting her shoes. For an only child who secretly liked to be the center of attention and most certainly enjoyed having her own things, the thought was disturbing. If there were six more of her around, would the cuteness be divided amidst them, or multiplied as was the awesomeness of seven Abyss? They wouldn't wear the same clothes, though. The young illusionist was certain they would want to be individualized so much that they would pick different styles, or even resort to illusion-colored hair and mismatched haircuts. Or rather, she'd make the other six look different. She liked herself the way she was.
“Maybe one sister would be okay. I think I'd choose have six or seven brothers rather than sisters.” Perhaps even a dozen brothers, if they were cool like Abyss, Calley, Slate, Kaz, Ryuichi, and Fausto. The corners of her pink little mouth twitched downward at the thought of Fausto, currently off in a foreign country fighting to make the world a better place. She wondered if he was okay. She also wondered if “brother” was the right word for him. She hadn't thought about him as more than a friend until Valentine's Day, and then she had simply become confused about what he was. Thinking of him as like a brother seemed to fit pretty well though for now.
“I could see how being in the void would be relaxing.” As long as there weren't cute earth manipulators in there to read her every thought. Or acid mouths or chameleon boys for that matter. On second thought, perhaps the privacy of one's own mind was best, at least though the adolescent and teen years.
The little blonde followed the big red man out past the garbage can and eventually into a hallway lined with doors, some open, others closed.
>>>“Hey You Guys!”...
...thundered the almighty voice of Neptune, summoning his brothers. Katrina waited for the floor to stop vibrating then added, “Hellooooo!”
~~“Maybe one sister would be okay. I think I'd choose have six or seven brothers rather than sisters.”
“I thought you were talking sense until you said you’d prefer six brothers.” He grinned at her.
~~“I could see how being in the void would be relaxing.”
“Yeah I am sure it is for them, it is usually when they want to escape the worries of the world.” He shook his head lightly “but once they start arguing, I wish I could kick them out the way I can suck them back in.”
~~~
A couple of doors opened into the hall and then replies came back no heads peeked out just. “Yeah, what do you want?” and the less then sensical. “what it do, broha?”
~~“Hellooooo!” Katrina’s little girl rendition however spurred movement on of the doors had three brothers springing out of it and the other had an amused Mars peeking out the doorway.
Pluto turned on the speed and got away from Mercury and Venus who trailed only seconds behind. “Kat! What are youdoing here? I mean not that its is bad just unexpected.” She was lifted into the air and he would have tossed her if there was space and she wasn’t holding any thing as it was. He gripped her under the arms and then swayed her legs back and forth slowly and playfully.
“I got a kat, I got a kat, I got a kat! Hey, hey, hey!”
The other pair caught up and Venus flicked Pluto’s ear. “ put her down, you oaf, that is no way to treat a lady.”
“but.” Pluto started to reply when mrcury flicked pluto’s ear for fun, it did look fun.
Merc added in a “yeah!” belatedly to make it seem as if he was doing this to persuade him instead of the fact that it was amusing. Of course it looked amusing to do that to someone too. So Mercury lifted Pluto while he lifted Katrina and did the same to Pluto.
“Ok, Ok! I’ll put her down and share once you put me down. Though, I refuse to call my little sister a lady!” Pluto submitted.
The little voice of the thirteen year old seemed to have more summoning power than the might voice of one void opener. The thunderous voice received only two inquisitive voices in return. The call of the blonde teen caused a stampede of red to come trampling down the hallway.
Pluto reached her first. She could always tell Pluto apart, even without any particular clothing or accessories to set him apart; he always had a goofy smile that seemed crafted just for her. The two of them had been paired up during the hide and seek training mission during the resistance and had all sorts of fun wreaking havoc and making mischief. Not to mention sharing their deepest and darkest secrets like a pair of school girls at a slumber party, though Pluto's and by extension all of the brothers' secrets had been much darker than her own.
“Plutooo!” Katrina squeaked as he swung her into the air and grinned as he swayed her back and forth. “It's been forever!” It was hard to believe that the grinning girl had been in tears not long ago. It seemed she had made the right choice of places to go when running away from home.
>>>“Kat! What are youdoing here? I mean not that its is bad just unexpected.”
The slightest shadow of a frown passed over her face as she answered, “I ran away from home. Only for one night, though. Abyss can tell you all the details later, if you're curious.” The shadow was gone the moment the two clones who had been hot on Pluto's tail started flicking his ears as he swung her back and forth. Katrina wondered if it was Venus who was calling her a “lady”. She chuckled. She wouldn't be one of those for a few years yet, but leave it to him to flatter everyone under the sun.
“Wha?!” Suddenly Pluto was just as airborne as Katrina had been. Katrina was airborne squared as brother lifted brother lifted illusionist. Could they all seven stack up like that? If each Abyss lifted another, how tall would they be? Somehow in her mind they would similar to monkies that had escaped their barrel” if they did that. In any case, the technique worked and she was soon on the ground again. With her new found freedom to move about, she bounded from red man to red man, giving each a hug.
“I brought you all a present! It was supposed to be for Christmas, but, you know.” She shrugged, then pointed at Neptune, who still had the presents. “He's got them.” She rolled back and forth on the balls of her feet in anticipation. “They help people to tell you all apart, unless you don't want them to. I made them myself! It's the first time I've made anything like them.”
Somehow the hallway wasn't as crowded as it should have been. There were still a couple of brothers still missing. (She couldn't help but think of them as “her” brothers; Pluto had even called her little sister just now.) It would be difficult to concentrate, but perhaps while they were distracted by trying to get presents away from Neptune, she could grab a moment of quiet with her own thoughts.
She stared at one of the open doors, imagining the two that hadn't appeared yet. Perhaps they were lounging on their beds reading Darwin's Theory or the Art of War. Maybe they were surfing the internet looking for anime to download or writing for an RP site they had joined. If one of them were smoking, he'd be in big trouble. She didn't know for certain what they were up to, but they needed to get their lazy red tails out here. If they were home, that is. Two clones appeared in her mind and she focused on them, ignoring the mob in the hallway. Carefully she formed a familiar little illusion of a paper crane cupped in her hand. It flapped its wings, then zoomed forward. It skirted around the red mob she was ignoring and into each of the open doors. “Come out, come out,” it squawked in a bird like rendition of Katrina's voice.
Only the two clones that were missing should be able to see and hear it as it made its rounds through the bedrooms. If Katrina was doing it correctly. She'd never tried sending a secret illusion to two people at once before. She was concentrating rather hard on fulfilling her task. To those in the hall, it probably looked like she was suddenly staring off into space suddenly.
~~“I ran away from home. Only for one night, though. Abyss can tell you all the details later, if you're curious.”
“Oh,” a light pause and then happiness. “ Well, you are in good hands and its not so bad if its to relatives after all.”
“I brought you all a present! It was supposed to be for Christmas, but, you know.”
Three sets of eyes lit up like kids that were indeed ready for Christmas presents, it had been awhile.
“He's got them.” The sets of yes twisted to Neptune and then they immediately put on hand out each..
Abyss shook his head and made them each pick up the little spheres themselves. Mimicking Abyss they all took out earings and put them in their own lobes quite pleased.
“They help people to tell you all apart, unless you don't want them to. I made them myself! It's the first time I've made anything like them.”
“ohhhh, this will stop all the bickering thank you they are perfect!” Venus said quietly still touched by the thoughtful gift. He exchanged a conspiratorial glance that said this gift wouldn’t go unmatched.
The other pair said “Thank You.” In unison.
Mars walked into the hall and knelt down, closer to katrina’s height and gave her a gentle hug. “I’m no less excited to see you then these three, but I figured I’d qait so I could get a quality hug in my sel. These are quite accurate. He said as Abyss handed Mars his own pair and he looked at them carefully. You have a talent.”
~~“Come out, come out,” .
“ahhh!” Saturn stuck his head out the door and calmly walked up to the group. “ Hello Katrina. I think that is going to take some getting used to. Oh, those are pretty.” he said in what was almost a forced excitement. Saturn was hard to excite but he took them and put them on as the others had. “thanks.” He said quietly.
Jupiter came out his door looking rumpled and facing the wrong direction scratching his bed headed head and shirtless. Luckily he was sober enough to remember pants. He yawned and stretched and then finally turned around. He leaned forward and squinted at the little form near his brothers and grinned.
Saturn took a hand and covered the little girls eyes before she could see any of the details of Jupiter’s body. Not the shell but the artwork, There was a reason Abyss neglected to mention that Jupiter had tattoos. The inevitable question of. “what are they of?” that would follow.
He was about to stomp off toward her like the others had, But he saw Saturn’s action. he darted back into the room to grab a shirt first, put it on and started to weave his drunken way up to the little one. Jupiter had tattoo’s ones that weren’t meant for a little girls eyes.
“Hi Kat!” he said a little too loudly, patting her on the head.
Katrina, practically bouncing with anticipation as she came out of her miniature personal illusion trance, watched her brothers' reactions to her gift. Sometimes giving presents was more exciting than getting them, especially the home made kind. She was relieved that they liked their gift, and was pleased with their reactions. The hugs and the thank yous and the we'll-try-them-on-right-aways were the best return gift she could have hoped for.
She didn't realize that the glances they were giving each other were conspiring ones. She didn't expect anything back. Besides, they had just paid for her cab, which had cost them about ten times more than she had originally paid for the entire set of earrings at a store where almost everything else had been either pink or purple. Was there an equivalent store where boys with pierced ears got their jewelry? She'd certainly never seen a male braving the narrow aisles and flocks of middle school girls that seem to frequent the store where Katrina usually found her sparklies.
Perhaps the best reaction was Mars, who gave her a special hug, made all the better because he hadn't wanted to share her with anyone else. She smiled shyly when he said she had a talent. “Thanks Mars,” she said in a small voice that matched his gentle tones.
Even Saturn seemed almost excited to receive his gift. Katrina grinned mischievously at him after his comment about getting used to her little illusion birds flying around with messages. He might have to get used to it. She might start sending them just to torment him once in awhile. “Get used to what?” Maybe the other six would tease him for seeing things. The thought of the other six tormenting him was almost as amusing as the thought of doing it herself.
The last of the seven to come crowding out in the hallway was Jupiter, according to the earring that were left on the card. The belated brother appeared, mumbling and stumbling backwards, apparently fresh from bed. As soon as he appeared, he disappeared behind a big red hand.
“Hey, what's that for Saturn?” He'd been wearing pants, she was pretty sure. She only barely caught a glimpse of him though before her vision had been obstructed. She was tempted, for a brief moment, to lick his hand. A moment later, though, the hand was lifted and the seven brother had reappeared fully clothed.
“Hi Kat!” he said a little too loudly, patting her on the head.
“Good morning! Isn't it a little late to be waking up for the day? Or a little early for bed?” She blinked up into his bleary eyes. Weaving, plus sleeping at odd hours, plus bleary eyes, plus extra loud voices. She shook her head at him with a mock stern expression. “You're as bad as Saturn, with the vices. Just don't lift any heavy machinery for awhile.”
“So if we have a sleep over, where will we be sleeping?” Katrina poked her head into one of their rooms, curiously. It was a messy one, without much extra room on the floor for even one extra person to sleep, let alone a whole posse of rather large people and one small one. “Do you have a living room somewhere in this big place?”
“He has bad taste in tattoos and doesn’t know how to put a shirt on apparently.”
~~“Good morning! Isn't it a little late to be waking up for the day? Or a little early for bed?”
Jupiter mock glared at her, ensuring that she knew he was playing by smiling slightly. “ when there is a pillow under your head and enough piece and quiet around her to sleep, I suggest you do so.”
~~“You're as bad as Saturn, with the vices. Just don't lift any heavy machinery for awhile.”
“Oh, a little bit of drink, never hurt anyone. And its not like I drive. And if I start to be a jerk Abyss just tosses me in the void.” He shruggerd
~~“Yes, Jupiter lets convince the teen that drinking is a good thing.” Mars pushed his bleary eyed brother, lightly.
Pluto laughed. “ Aren’t you the one always going on about antidisestablishmentarianism?”
Mars shook his head. “ No, I am not and you don’t even know what that means. Antidisestablishmentarianism is a political party formed to remove the Church of England as the state church of Ireland and Wales In nineteenth century Britain.” He sighed exasperatedly.
“So if we have a sleep over, where will we be sleeping?” “Do you have a living room somewhere in this big place?”
“Sleep over!” Pluto shouted, oblivious to whatever Mars was prattling on about.
Abyss put a hand on Pluto to steady him and reached over to Mercury to calm him before Pluto’s excitement leaked over. “Yes a sleep over, I think that the Rec room should be a nice fix. For tonight we have some stuff to get. Sleeping bags and what not I will send some of the residents over that way.” Mars looked concerned about letting Kat wonder about on her own.
“Katrina, if anyone gives you trouble, just go invis and sneak into one of these rooms.” He made a point to point to his own and Mars’ room. “ I don’t think anyone will bother you. But just in case.” He held out his hand and Mars handed over Pluto handed over his cell phone. “ Here is a cell, just go to contacts and Neptune and you will get me.”
Bad taste in tattoos? Katrina had difficulty even imagining what would be a bad enough tattoo that she wasn't even allowed to see it. The fact that he wouldn't even tell her what they depicted made her all the more curious. A tentative plot to wait until all seven of them were asleep was forming in her devious little head. What could possibly be so bad that a tattoo would have a worse than PG-13 rating, honestly?
As Mars pushed his brother for 'trying to convince her drinking was a good thing', Katrina wrinkled her nose. “No, thank you. Beer smells almost as bad as cigarettes.”
>>>“ Aren’t you the one always going on about antidisestablishmentarianism?”
Katrina blinked at Pluto. Blinked twice.
>>>Mars shook his head. “ No, I am not and you don’t even know what that means. Antidisestablishmentarianism is a political party formed to remove the Church of England as the state church of Ireland and Wales In nineteenth century Britain.”
As Mars gave his exasperated sigh, Katrina recovered. “Yeah. I can't believe you didn't know that. Gosh,” she added to the end of Mars' statement. Was she teasing Pluto or Mars there? The answer, my friends: both.
>>>“Sleep over!”
Sleep over, indeed. Katrina grinned at Pluto's excitement, it was contagious. He must be thirteen on the inside, too. He certainly didn't make her feel like she had to try and act all grown up when she didn't feel like it.
The rec room. That would be... that-a-way. Somewhere. Katrina glanced down the hall the way the big red guy pointed. Mostly there were dorm looking rooms, and the entrance to the rec room would probably look a bit different from the average bedroom door. She'd find it, no problem. After getting lost a hundred times in Mondragon Labs, this should be a breeze. Besides, getting lost wasn't so bad, it was kind of like an adventure.
An adventure that would be made all the more awesome by the shiny red cell phone she had just been handed. Wicked. Katrina took the phone with both hands, graciously accepting the gadget, her face filled with wonder. When she got a cell phone, she was getting one like this.
“Thanks, I'll take good care of it.”
Katrina turned and started down the hall, cell phone still cupped in her hands. Was the inside just as cool as the outside, she wondered as she turned the corner. The little blue screen illuminated itself as she opened it up. Now, where would the games menu be? The curious teen pressed a button. Nope, that was contacts. A quick scroll through the list showed each of the clones' names, plus a “Lori” and an “Isabel” and a bunch of other names she didn't recognize. Ooh! There was Syn's number. Katrina remembered her from the resistance. “Geo's garage” was on there, too. She hadn't known he had a garage, but it made sense with how he liked cars, especially of the sleek and fast variety. Etcetera etcetera, and on it went. Katrina pressed another button; old pictures of the inside of a pocket. Another button; camera! Another button; there were the games. She chose 'Snake' and was soon twisting and turning through a maze just like she was doing in real life. Before she knew it, she had walked right past the rec room and had to turn around when she ran into a dead end hallway. Oops!
