The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

Nicki hoped she wasn't turning red as the cute boy ran over to her. She was still a little nervous around boys in general but this was a *cute* boy that she *didn't know*. She would be lucky if she managed to squeak out a word,
Nicki nodded, adjusting her bag a little, more of nervous movement than anything else. That being said, she decided to give it a shot. She smiled brightly at the oncomer.
"Um, Hi. Fine. Um, yeah. I'm Nicki. I just enrolled?" Nicki bit her lower lip and figured she probably looked like she was six, not sixteen.

:::: It was a beautiful day out side. The sun was out and a cool breeze was in the air. A yellow taxi pulled up to the curb of one of the more distinguished buildings Jason had ever seen. Jason stepped out the back door, his feet stepping out of the greenest must fresh grass he had ever seen. As Jason looked at the mansion the taxi driver dropped Jason’s duffel bag at the foot of his feet and drove off. Just stood there not even realizing that the taxi had drove off and began walking forward. Jason stopped at the gate to the mansion and hit the buzzer ::::
“Umm, Is there anybody there… Someone that could open this gate?” he asked as he stopped thinking maybe he should have called first.
Raphael heard the voice echo over the radio in the security room. He poked his head in and waved at Johnathon. "Sounds like we have a new arrival. I'll head out there and greet 'im. Let Tricity know, a'ight?"
Johnathon looked over his shoulder and nodded to Raphael's comment. "Sure thing Raph."
Raphael jogged away from the security room after grabbing a small packet of 'new resident' forms, and left through the front door. He kept the jogging pace until he got up to the gate and greeted Jason. "Afternoon, new resident?"
Raphael waited only for a moment before reaching through the gate and punching the buzzer button once more. "Johnathon, this fellow looks harmless enough, open the gate." he then stepped back as the gate rolled to one side. "I'm Raphael, welcome to the Xavier Institute."

As Raphael approached the gate Jason started to get that nervous feeling in his stomach. He could remember how so many people had welcomed him in to there home and months…weeks…even days later he was kicked right back out to the streets.
As the gate opened Jason grabbed his bag and walked through. “Thank you. My name is Jason.” He replied extending his had to greet Raphael.
Jason found this to be all to similar to the times before. A work welcome. Then a cold exit… Just how long was it going to take till he was looking back for another place to sleep out on the streets.
Raphael nodded, taking the man's hand and giving a firm handshake before stepping to the side and gesturing towards the mansion. "New residents first, I take it you are seeking a place to stay, right Jason?"
Raphael could read the nervousness in the man, it reminded him of himself at times. Though he doubted he was quite as shaky as some of the new mutants he had greeted, but it was easy to relate to them. "If so, I have a couple questions for you, routine stuff." Raphael put on the 'I'm not going to hurt you' smile of a tour guide as he walked towards the mansion with Jason. "First off, I'll need to know what your mutation is, and whether or not it is a danger to you or anyone else."

Jason thought to him self. Is this a joke? Every place before when they found out he was a mutant was just moments before he got the boot. But then again Jason also heard this place was a bit different then other homes. So Jason decided take his chance.
“Well umm… Its hard for me to explain. I have like a control over my blood… umm maybe it would be easier just to show you.” Jason said as he reached in to his pocket. Pulling out his pocket knife he ran the blade over the palm of his hand. As the blood started to drip in to his hand it seemed different then regular blood. It began to spread over his hand till he had pretty much a blood glove. Only it was as hard as the strongest metal and light like there was nothing there. He raised his the knife driving it as hard and fast in to his hand as possible. But between his abnormal strength and the toughness of his hand the knife crumbled like a pop can.
“Well I guess you pretty much seen what I can do. And as far hurting others… I don’t really um…no it wont hurt them.” He said with a bit of fear in his voice.
"Explains the scars on your hands," Raphael said with a nod. "And, given that your mutation isn't really harmful to others, unless you employ it as such, means we don't need to isolate you... you certainly seem to have complete control over it." He smiled, and added, "though maybe we can help you learn to utilize it without having to cut yourself every time."
Raphael stepped up onto the porch and approached the door. "You still look concerned though, do you have questions?" He stopped by the front door and looked at Jason.

“Oh Yeah.” Jason said as he slipped a pair of biker gloves with the fingers cut off on to his hands. “Nah I cant think of anything else.” He replied. Jason thought to him self about the time some how he made someone else’s cut close. But they couldn’t do anything to harm anybody. And other then that who are they holding in this place they have to keep them from the others.
“Yeah I’m pretty sure that’s anything, oh but could you explain how this place works?” Jason asked the man as he stood only feet from a door where he thinks he may just be welcomed for once. But how would they feel about his minor life of crime… maybe I should just keep that to my self he thought.
Raphael studied the man, as he got the feeling that the man was withholding something. However, given that Raphael was not exactly from the most glorious of backgrounds when he arrived here, he could understand Jason holding back on a few things that he felt was less than reputable. Raphael, however, was not entirely sure how to answer the man's question. He paused to think on it for a short time.
"How this place works?" he began, paused for a moment while opening the door to give the man entrance to the mansion. "Well, it is a safe place for mutants, we accept anyone with good intentions, and who is not here to harm others. For those who do not know how to control, or fully control, their mutations we have individuals who can aid in that aspect as well. We also offer classes, a GED program as well as accredited college level courses... There's rooms on the second story, boy's dormitories on the left, girls on the right, so you'll be welcome to stay here as long as you desire. Does that answer your question?"
