The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

Syn was working hard in the Training Room both in her physical prowess and her mutation power. She had the strength and agility, but she wanted to improve her skill. When pushing her powers to their limits she noticed something if only for a brief moment. Somehow she lost her pheremone power and in it's place it looked like she grabbed her target with some sort of energy, but then it flittered out leaving Syn breathing heavily.
Syn, it had to be Syn, was in the training room. Lori hesitated for only a moment at the doorway. She'd never met the Dark Queen of the Sanctuary, but she knew at once it was her. She thought she would be... older, but then again lots of people though she looked younger than she was and so she could hardly point fingers.
Lori went straight for the bench press. A big bunch of metal like that was good for building muscles and her own charge. For now, she would ignore Syn unless for some odd reason she needed a spot or the Mistress of Misdeeds felt like stepping down from off high and speaking to a lowly mook like Lori.
Catching her breath a little and taking a sip from her water bottle Syn noticed the new arrival. The other girl was someone new. Someone Syn hadn't met or been introduced to. Syn took a moment to herself but watched the blonde haired female as she was sizing up the bench press.
No time like the present. Syn walked over by the bench press and looked the other girl over. Then with a quick glance to the bar bell Syn looked back to the female. "Can you handle the weight or would you like a spotter miss..." Syn trailed off leaving her question open to response from the new lady.
Lori lay back on the bench and settled under the weight. "Can you handle the weight or would you like a spotter miss..."
"Why is that funny coming from you, Syn?" Lori removed the weight from the catch and did a single set of 10 reps before replacing the weight. It was an impressive amount for her to handle so easily considering Lori's size. "Even if I couldn't lift it myself," she sat up to look Syn in the eye, "my genetic deviation allows me to manipulate magnetic fields. I typically roll solo. No offense."
Lori settled back against the bench. "It's Lori. Sorry if I ruined your fun, the clones told me all about you." It never bothered Lori to say 'sorry' when she didn't really mean it. She went for a second set, the leader of the Order could look on or not.
So...she was a feisty one. Isn't she sweet? "I'm not sure why that's funny coming from me. I don't joke often." Syn made a mental note to talk with her brother in regards to the clones and their lack of keep her informed. Never-the-less the sweet miss Lori quickly informed Syn of a great deal. "Magnetic fields you say." Syn gave the appearance of being in heavy thought. In all actuality she already knew what she was thinking about. "So what can you do with your wonderful power besides lift metal objects?"
Syn's voice was like honey and it seemed particularly impossible to ignore the woman even as she didn't see the humor in the leader of a secret organization spotting a relatively new recruit. "Would you like an electromagnetic disquisition? Because I can arrange a personal tutoring session if you like." She wasn't necessarily being insulting, but rather most people did not care to hear what exactly a magnetic field can accomplish. Especially from the physics side and that was exactly where she was headed. It was one of Lori's favorite topics and once she got started it was hard to stop. Lori finished her second set and sat up to look her supposed leader in the eye.
"It's not necessarily what I can do with my mutation that always counts." There was a lot of gravity to what she'd said considering her level of infiltration prior to her official joining of this merry little band of men. "I'm sure you are a woman of many talents more than your... charisma." Lori didn't actually know precisely what Syn did, but she did know it involved persuasion some times. She also knew that saying a girl is worth more than her breasts was taboo in most conversations with your "boss" even if she had them too.
Lori tested her arms and decided she could maybe make it through one more set. She lay back and steeled herself for a final go. "By the way, you may want to teach certain younger male Order members that anything Haywire related shouldn't be a first date table topic."
"No thank you. I don't need you to give me an essay or a lecture on what electromagnetic fields are. The fact that you can manipulate them says alot. I'm just wondering how limited you might be." If Lori wanted to use a sharp tongue then Syn was happy to play along. She watched the other girl test herself then set up to do another set witht he weights. When Lori commented on Syn having more talents that her natural charisma Syn just gave a smirk and nodded. However, when the topic of Haywire being discussed while on a date popped up Syn became interested. "What boy might that be and what did he tell you exactly?"
Lori set her face and got to work. Syn was obviously toying with her, egging her on to get a reaction. Because why else would she have even suggested that Lori was limited. Lori knew how versatile and strong she was and did not have to prove it to this woman, no matter if she was supposedly the one making this all possible. Lori didn't owe her jack. Until Syn proved herself as a leader, Lori was by no means going to treat her as one. They could sass all day back and forth for all she cared.
"What did he tell me? I would say something along along the lines of what did he not tell me? You ought to thank him, though, it's why I'm here." And everyone should be thanking her for gracing them with her presence. She wasn't quite sure if she wanted to sell Geo out just yet. Lori wanted to test the woman, to see what she would do.
"I'm happy to hear whatever information that was divulged to you sparked your interest enough to join us here. We look out for one another around here much like a family. I hope that is something you will be capable of." Syn didn't have much more to say to the sassy blonde. In fact, the girl was lucky she had been welcomed or she wouldn't have those pretty blonde locks anymore. Syn kept her composure and smiled then made her way out of the gym.
