The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

”Point duly noted,” Raphael said, pulling the door of the car open and sliding the seat forward for Fade to get in. He figured he would need to give directions. “It’s not the dark side of town, actually. It’s in Greenwich Village, Benny prefers to meet in public places, like he doesn’t trust me or some such thing.”
He settled himself into the front seat as Deathstar started the car. He moved his hand towards the backseat for Fade to grasp. His mind wandering as they rolled out. “It’sa nice car Deathstar,” though the comment did not really hold much weight as he liked any car that ran and could get him from point A to point B. “How long have you had it?”
The question really did not even register to him as having been asked. His mind was elsewhere, namely speculating as to what Benny was planning and how best to keep Fade, and to a lesser extent Deathstar, out of it. Though he suspected at the bare minimum some crude comment from Benny in an attempt to goad Raphael into something he did not want to step in.
Fade followed the two into the garage, but at the sight of Deathstar's muscle car, her eyes widened. It was a beautiful car. Then again, all cars were pretty to Fade, mainly because she couldn't drive, never learned how, so she just got to watch as they drove by. She had once seen a car similar to Deathstar's, it was easy to break into, no alarms, nothing to hold her back. Of course, no stealing from Deathstar's car or it would cost Fade her life.
"It's a magnificent car. How'd you get it?" She asked as Raph moved the seat forward for Fade to get in. She crawled into the back and realized from the little amount of foot room, that she needed to diagnally slant her legs so she was sitting behind Raph, leaning up against the side, and laying her feet in the foot area behind Deathstar.
Deathstar enters the key into the car's ignition, the car lets out a loud rumble as she pressed her foot on the gas. Deathstar apply some heavy eyeliner to her eyes, puts on some neon pink lipstick and throws her shades on while looking in the side-view mirror. She puts her arm outside the car and hits the button to open the garage door. "And we're off!," she says as she puts the car reverse, backing out of the mansion driveway. As the car backs out of driveway, Deathstar hits the gas and speeds of 70 mph down a narrow street leading into the highway.
"I forgot to tell you.....I'm a speedster" she smiles as she makes a sharp turn narrowly missing the curve. "So Raph!....Do you know who your opponent will be" she pauses before she makes her next statement. "I know this guy!...he's call the punisher..he was undefeated fighter before I left to head toward the mansion, and if he's still there I'm pretty sure your old friend Benny is probably promoting him" she looks stir into her left rear view mirror and makes another sharp turn, her car wheels drifting to the sides making tire marks along the street.
"are you OK back there Fade" she asks fade while looking into her rear view mirror.
Raphael shot his hand up to grab the ‘oh s***’ bar to stabilize himself as Deathstar took a couple hard fast turns. He was not all that worried about the speeding, other than the possibility of getting a ticket. He was merely thankful that none of them overtly looked like the mutants they were. He was not so naïve as to think that all cops would uphold that they had the same rights as everyone else.
He thought for a moment on what Deathstar had said. It would seem that this ‘the Punisher’ filled the void he left when he came to the Mansion. “Could be. Benny didn’t say in his letter. I suspect he thinks I will worry about it and get off kilter, you know, off-center and open up a new weakness and he’ll reap massive rewards in the betting pools in my defeat.”
He looked out the window as the landscape whizzed by. “Not that it’d work.” Sure, he was wondering now about who his opponent, or possibly opponents, was going to be. But it was not going to consume him, and certainly was not going to distract him once he was in the ring. He was, however, more concerned with the two women with him. He did not want to bring them both into contact with Benny; or the underground fight-club, complete with grimy sweaty men and whorish women.
((we should likely move this to a NY City thread soon))
At the sudden spurt of speed, Fade grabbed the seat and strived to keep herself up, even though she was leaning against the side of the car. She had never really riden in cars all that often, and when she did, it was a different experience. Most of the time, it was when she was arrested, but there was the time when she was completely drunk and Ruki got her back to the mansion. Fade couldn't quite remember how, she just remembered opening her eyes in the car for only a moment then passing out again.
"Yeah, I'm just fine." She smirked. The speed was giving her adrenaline. It seemed that whenever she was around Deathstar, she felt a bit more rebellious. As if Deathstar would feed her inner rebellious fire with just some simple words.
Yet her rebellion was not felt for Raph. She wanted him to be safe, which was mainly why she went with him. She would never feel as if she could have done something to help him. People say that when something happens to their loved ones, they regret not being there...that was not going to happen here.
