The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

Ghost waved to the girl with a tail, another new face to Ghost, and offered her a can of tea and a smile. "Plenty of seats left." She opened her mouth to invite the girl lurking by the doorway over as well, but Shin chose that moment to come diving onto the couch between herself and Arielle.
Eeep! At last! The movie was starting! If the girl with the video camera wanted to join them, she would. Life was better in person as opposed to seeing it through the lens of a camera. Especially when it came to... Japanese TV?
"Fanged wolf..." she read the kanji under her breath to herself. Garo? That sounded familiar somehow. It was obviously Japanese from the get go. To Ghost's knowledge, no one else in the world was so keen on sound effects.
The screen paused and Shin hopped up to give his little speech. “Um, yeah… this is Garo. Might want to explain that before we dive in I guess… And technically, it’s not a movie." Alarm bells were going off in Ghost's mind. It was in the fall of her Senior year... "It’s a Japanese television show about a golden knight who cuts down horrors with a golden sword. And it’s awesome. Any questions?”
"Ohhh!" Ghost snapped and pointed excitedly at Shin. "This is the Hyper Midnight Action Drama Garo~!" She blinked. That sounded so much more convincing in Japanese. Ghost scooted back into the couch to be somewhat less noticeable. "That's what the commercials said anyway..." She grumbled.
Ah well. Shin would be happy to be watching it again if it was indeed his favorite. Ghost didn't see it, her mom had started to have health problems around then, but she had friends that happened to love the series. The turning point in special effects, they had called it.
>>"...nice special effects I might add" Deathstar added. Well, American's didn't have to understand it to enjoy it, she supposed. Ghost offered a supportive smile to Shin. It would be fun to see Japanese television again. There really was no comparison.

“Yeah, it’s one of my favorites,” Shin smiled at Ghost, and nodded to Deathstar. “Fantastic special effects galore. And…” He reached into a bag by the table, pulling out something long and white. He wrapped the coat around him with a grin. “The main character has really good taste in clothes.”
He looked to the others in the room, waiting to see if they had anything to say before he moved on.
((Skipping Devon, everyone can react. It’s Circe, Arielle, Deathstar, or Loup’s turn for posting. There’s no particular order right now, so post when you can~))
Alexandra raised her eyes from the camera display to the screen and smiled at Shin's choice then his quick explanation of the movie. Her eyes returned to the display and zoomed on Shin. The ring tone of her cellphone, Rihanna's Disturbia startled her. She backed away, closing her camera then retrieved her phone from a pocket. The number made her eyes widden for a second as she recognized Romanian code. Departing from the living room, she pushed the 'answer' button and put the phone to her ear. "Speak."
"Well...this is interesting..." was All Arielle could say as the movie started. She agreed with Deathstar. The special effects were good, but not as good as the ice scream she was mowing down. Not even 10 minutes into the movie, she looked at the tub and realized she had already eaten half a gallon.
"This is not good..." she said licking the ladle. "It's delicious! But it's all gonna go to my git and thighs and that simply cannot be allowed. I have a reputation to maintain, and I must keep my haters hating." she said offering her ice cream over to Shin and Ghost.
"You guys can have it. I need to go to the danger room and burn off the calories before it's too late!" she said, skittering out of the living room with her blanket.
