The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

Victoria had opened the door for Luke to leave but even while his mind assured him that it was time to go, part of his subconscious questioned that idea. Was she ready to be here by herself? Could she handle things?
"If she has problems then Miss Williamson is just down the hall. She'll keep an eye on her." Luke thought to himself as he did his best to clear his head on the whole situation.
"Well I'm glad you think that I'm not a cowardly lion." Luke said with a smile, "And you can stay here for quite a while... maybe not forever, but you can turn this into your own home."
Luke wasn't really that experienced in having his own home either... he had only had the apartment in New York for a little over a year, "Or is it two?" Either way, it hadn't been long and before that he had spent so much time training and learning over in Europe that he had never really put down roots.
"Maybe this time I'll stick to a city and stay near some friends... maybe."
"I suppose I should really get myself organized." Victoria finally said, though she made no effort to get up and get started.
"And I should probably be heading out too." Luke said quietly, a somewhat regretful tone in his voice, "But we'll see about going to the Statue of Liberty on Saturday. Right?"
The regret in Luke's tone came through, prompting Victoria to look at him with a sad longing in her eyes.
"I wish you could stay." Her response was almost quiet enough to be a genuine whisper. Bowing to the inevitable, Victoria slowly and reluctantly uncoiled herself from beside Luke, putting her feet back on the floor and sitting upright again.
"But we'll see about going to the Statue of Liberty on Saturday. Right?"
With something to look forward to Victoria became animated again, "Yes. Absolutely! Definitely!" she responded enthusiastically. "Shall we set a time now or do you want to do that later in the week?"
Without waiting for a response Victoria sprang to her feet and crossed to her handbag which was lying on one of the dining chairs. She fished out her phone, a cheap but serviceable pre-pay and Luke's card. Using the number on the card she sent through her contact details to his phone.
"That should make it easier." Victoria said, obviously pleased with herself that she had thought of it.

Luke stood to his feet as soon as Victoria moved away to retrieve her cell phone. The time spent with Victoria had been lots of fun but he did have other things to do. As soon as the information came through his own cell phone Luke saved the information and then returned the phone to its place in his pocket.
"Perfect." He said with a smile, "So I'll give you a call later this week to set up the time. Take care of yourself, OK?"
After their goodbye's had been said Luke headed out to the street in order to catch a taxi.
