The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

Kaz sighed as he sat on the roof of his warehouse watching the city before him. He wondered how long it had been since he had talked to anyone besides himself or Demi. He was bored and tired. Reaching into his pocket, he pulled out his cell phone, as he looked through the recent calls, he knew he'd been away for too long.
Pressing '2', the phone speed dialed a familiar yet rarely called number as of late. He waited for the phone to connect, half expecting the big lug at the end to not pick up. Kaz was genuenly glad Abyss did answer, though he didn't exactly let it show through his voice. "I need to speak to you in person. Meet me at THE club in half a hour." Of course he meant Club Evolution, THE club for mutants. While he didn't care about the opinions of humans, and he was sure Abyss felt the same, it was just less of a hassle.
He didn't really wait for a response before he killed the call and dropped down into his warehouse to the bottom floor. Picking out his favorite 'Vette, he sped off to the club, making sure he'd be well ahead of his large red friend.
((Note: Kaz is in his obsidian skinned second form atm.))

Checking the clock on the wall he realized 30minutes had nearly gone by from when he called Abyss. Kaz had picked out a table somewhat out of the way from the majority of the club goers, while not so far away as to be overly suspicious looking. From the bucket full of beer and ice, no one thought to take the spot as Kaz headed towards the door with two bottles in his hands. As he neared the door, a man told him he can't take the alcohol out of the club. Kaz eyed the man for a second, debating if he would threaten the man or not. The man who had already moved back slightly was expecting some verbal or physical retaliation, was slack jawed as Kaz spoke. "I'll only be a minutes or so, I'm meeting someone outside, then we'll be right in." The doorman nodded his okay and let Kaz pass.
Outside the club Kaz stood against the wall, watching for Abyss. When the man pulled up, Kaz motioned for a valet to take the motorcycle, as well as to tell the big red man to point to Kaz. <I wonder what he'll say...Or if I'll get a thump on the head.> He laughed to himself at the thoughts of Abyss seeing Kaz's new self.

Kaz couldn't hold the straight face, he let out a loud laugh. "Damn, I thought I had you there for a moment." He handed one of the bottles over to the big man. With barely a flick of his finger the bottle cap went flying across the street. "I didn't think you'd recognize me so easily." Sighing slightly, "Oh well." Motioning towards the door, he walked ahead of Abyss. As they entered the club Kaz let his body slip into his natural form. His black quills untwisted and lightened in color as they fell down over his shoulders in silver locks.
"Sorry bout the phone. Just pokin a bit of fun, ya know?" He gave his friend a smile as he took a sip of the bottle. He could feel the alcohol in his body almost immediately. He'd never been drunk before, but until now, he'd never been able to as his body always dealt with the alcohol before it could ever do anything.
As he sat down at the table he had reserved, "It's been too long. How've things been?"

“I guess to me, your more than just a pretty face.”
"Aww...that's so sweet of you." Kaz laughed again, he could feel the tightness in his cheeks. He hadn't laughed since before the fight in Time's Square. His face wasn't use to it yet. When Abyss thanked him for the warning at Sanctuary before the raid, Kaz waved his hand in dismissal. "No need for thanks Abyss..." He let a moment of pause slip by, "I know where my loyalties lie." He raised his bottle towards Abyss in a toast, "Besides, we're friends. Who else could I go terrorize around with?" Kaz gave the man a genuine smile.
Kaz looked around the club for a particular red friend. He saw the six clones spread out. <I'd feel sorry for anyone who tried to raid this club tonight.> To Kaz, even though each clone seemed to be doing their own thing, and spread out, he knew they could all mobilize and respond to anything quickly. He envied Abyss at times, only sometimes.
"Bored with those six around?" He gave Abyss a mock surprised look. Kaz spotted a small bundle of red above the bar and smirked. <He seems comfortable here.> "Something big you say, eh? You've got my attention."

(Works for me Abyss)
"My sister doubts it I think." Kaz nodded at Abyss' words. It was probably true. "She seems to have always had an issue with that....I couldn't imagine why." He gave Abyss a knowing smirk as he took a drink. When Abyss mentioned KP, Kaz's expression dropped a bit to a more serious look. Like him, he also had mixed feelings about it all. 'Its too big to talk about, even here' the words echoed in his mind. He began rolling around the possibilities in his mind.
Kaz wanted Demi by his side, just for comforts sake and the little dragon picked up the feeling. While his wings weren't very good for lying, they glided very well as jumped off the bar counter and onto some guy's head before gliding to the table. When he landed Kaz put his arm down for Demi to climb up to his shoulder where Kaz began to scratch under his chin.
"Oh yeah, it's been doing more than you can guess." He half smiled. "I've....been better. Been trying to figure things out. Memory isn't what it use to be I think. I can't remember anything but flashes of time before waking up some weeks ago." Kaz put his hand over the scar on his face. "Hell I don't even know where or how I got this." He purposefully stayed away from the subject of Nicki. "Wondering how people've been and such, ya know. Normal stuff like that."

Demi sat comfortably on Kaz's shoulder, making a clicking sound reminiscent of a cat's purr. When Kaz stopped scratching under his chin, he stretched out to cover both of Kaz's shoulders. Kaz nods slightly at Abyss, "Might be able to. I've gotten use to the scar, I kind of like it. Takes a bit of the 'pretty boy' look away." He smirked. "Besides, all I can remember is being up high, looking down at buildings I think; falling; and being under rubble. After that, I woke up at the labs." He motioned to Demi, "That's when I found out about this little guy. Apparently Haywire did a bit more to me than just make my abilities freak out. One of the docs there checked out my Xgene and found that some 'outside source' put it into flux...Made it go wonky. This guy, Demi, apparently shares my DNA." Kaz gave Abyss a shrug.
"Glad to hear the place is back in order. You planning on staying there or changing locations since it's now a well known place?" Noticing Abyss' line of sight, he turned to see what was up. "Haha, no kidding. Who's your money on? Well that is, if both of them don't pass out from that much."

Kaz nodded, "Yeah, that's what I'm thinking as well. I'm a bit drain bamaged. It seems like nothing now, but having a telephone pole slammed into your head really hurts." He rubbed his head lightly as he remembered the fight at KP.
"A way to stop the fluctuations? It's interesting you say that. I guess I can safely assume y'all haven't stopped poking at Haywire's effect or it's full capabilities then." He shook his head slightly, and even more so after Abyss' next words. "No...I didn't see what happened at the camps, nor have I heard about it. I woke up well after the registration act had been negated. Though I can guess at the power and spectacle a united mutant front would be." Taking a breath, "If you think about it that way, it's easy to see why humans fear and resent us."
Kaz listened patiently to Abyss' explanation and story, laughing even after hearing BF got involved, though he grimaced at the last part. "Oof. I've never had the 'pleasure' of meeting or seeing what he can do, but I've heard." Looking around the club he nodded at Abyss' hopes. "Well, if others do get upset, might be able to act as bouncers ourselves. Otherwise...I'll put $50 on Pluto."
Kaz had a thought, "How are you and Tris doing?" He asked offhandedly.

Kaz sighed and shook his head at himself. "Damn, even now I still have trouble telling you guys apart at times." He put his palm to his forehead. "I swear one of these days, I'm gonna tattoo something different on each of your foreheads so I can tell y'all apart." Kaz smirked at Abyss so he would know he was half joking.
Kaz laughed as Abyss pointed Venus out. "I see. Voodoo huh? Might want to look into that. Break the spell and what not. Or not. If they've lasted this long, maybe they're good for each other, no?" Demi began to hiss sporadicly, as if he was laughing. He jumped off of Kaz's shoulder and glided over towards Venus, gliding around his head, landing on the girls around him and jumping away. "Go Demi." Kaz said while laughing.
"I am almost afraid to ask since she isn't here, but How bout you and Nicki?"
Kaz's breath caught in his throat, he swore he felt his heart skip a beat, even Demi stopped his playing and hovered in the air, drooping slightly. "Ah...um.." He swallowed and downed the rest of his beer. "She's gone. When I woke up....she was gone. I have no idea where she went. All I've been doing since I woke up is trying to find her." He couldn't look Abyss in the eyes. "Just like Judy. One day she was here...the next...gone." He opened another bottle and drank that one down as well.

Kaz nodded to Abyss, glad to hear about Venus and Tris. He hoped it would work out for the two. "It must be a bit tough for the two of them. Considering Tris works for Hunter while you and the boys are at Sanctuary...Unless they've gotten a lot more range than I remember?"
"I'll help you look." Abyss said to Kaz's explanation about Nicki. There was no pause, no time to consider what to say. Just true and honest words from a friend. Kaz looked at the man and smiled, "Thanks." He was glad for the support, but at the same time, he knew he couldn't dwell on it. If he did he'd be right back where he was a couple weeks before: Consumed with it, neglecting everything else, not giving himself any time to deal with the situation.
Kaz looked over where Mercury and Pluto had been drinking to see Pluto on the floor and Mercury slumped over, both passed out. He was honestly glad for the distraction. "Huh, those lightweights." He let out a laugh, "Call it a draw?"

Kaz gave Abyss a curious look about the bet. "Naw, not going easy on ya. I'm not as sharp on things as I normally am, not looking like this at least." It was true and false at the same time. In his 'human' form, he was little better than a human, though Kaz was sure no one could get the drop on him. He was intentionally giving Abyss a clue as to what was going on with his abilities.
Kaz visibly shuddered, on purpose, at the prospect of dealing with Syn. "Oh yeah, that'd be fun to do. She's always been a tough cookie to deal with." Kaz laughed. "Someplace quiet huh? I know a good place. Doesn't look like much from the outside, but, the warehouse is pretty nice." Kaz paused in thought for a moment. "I don't think I've ever told you about my warehouse...have I?"
"I know the twins would be glad to see ya."
"Haha." Kaz couldn't disagree with Abyss. He'd be happy to see the girls too. He'd seen Vibe at the Labs separated from Amp. <I wonder what he meant by that..> "It'd be nice to see them too. They're back together then. That's good. Vibe looked so...miserable at the Labs without Amp." He poured himself a glass of beer and took a few swigs. "Is our favorite stab happy girl still around?" Of course he was referring to Isabel.

"...I owe ya fifty...." Kaz laughed. "I guess the underdog wins huh. Always more fun when that happens. They're gonna be alright though...I mean they must have had..." He said in a questioning tone as he tried to make out how many shot glasses there were, but he couldn't quite make them all out. "At least 25 or more...each. I can't see that being healthy for anyone."
"Heh, sorry Abyss. Only a few people have been to or know about the warehouse...two of which are the twins. The first night I met them we went for a 'shopping spree'. We had so much stuff I stored it at the warehouse. And...." Kaz went silent before inwardly shaking himself. "It's quiet there, but also uneventful. Myself and three others bought it and had it completely redone on the inside. Out of the four, I'm the only one who's still there." He took another sip of his beer. "I'd be glad to have the company and hear any interesting stories."
Kaz was speechless as Abyss told him about Isabel. "Wait wait wait..." He waved his hand as if fending off 'something'. "You're telling me Isabel went to court..............and she actually sat through and dealt with it all?" Kaz leaned back in his chair. "I guess I have to give her more credit. I wouldn't have pinned her as the type to let cops or anyone of the 'law' tell her what to do. Honestly I'm surprised the judge and guards aren't wheezing through half a lung with how much she enjoys doing that." Kaz took in the rest of Abyss' words. "So y'all got a bunk of punk-ass jocks? I'm sorry." The last two words were honest and said with sympathy.
Kitra sighed as she walked through the door of Club Evolution. She highly doubted it but, she was hoping to see if Zelek was in there. She showed the doorman her id and proceeded through with a warning to not try and drink any alcohol. She smiled, "Nah, that stuff is no fun." Kitra walked over to the bar and paid for a cherry coke, then walked towards a group of clubbers sipping her soda. When she got a few feet away from them she sighed, 'No Zelek....will I manage to find him at some point?'
She sighed again and wandered around the club, she stopped however, when she spotted a familiar red being. Er beings... Kitra shook her head and looked around the club, spotting several of her red friends, she blinked again and focused her attention on the two that were having a drinking match. She leaned back against a wall, giggling as she watched the two of them drink the shots down. She surmised that it they had been at it awhile, as there were a few empty glasses. Well a lot to be exact but yea. Kitra nearly choked on her soda as she watched one of them slump over. 'I guess it finally got to them,' she thought as she giggled. Kitra looked around hoping to spot the real Abyss. She could never tell who was who sometimes, but Abyss normally wouldn't be the one goofing off. He was more then likely chatting with someone somewhere in the club.
And she nearly dropped her glass in surprise as one of the big red guys came up to her. "Someone, I can help you find miss?" Kitra looked up slightly, "Actually I spotted, well you guys and was hoping to say hi to Abyss." She sighed slightly, "Since I disappeared so suddenly I haven't been able to find out where anyone is. It was pure luck that I saw you guys in here." Kitra looked down frowning in thought, 'I wonder which one he is? It doesn't hurt to ask...but he didn't seem happy to see me either hmm.' She looked up and smiled, "I'm pretty sure you're not Abyss, so who might you be?"
Kitra chuckled and held up her near empty glass of cherry coke. "Another one of these would be nice. And you're close, it's actually Kitra." She shrugged to the comment about Hunter, "Yea, most of us are still weary of him even as his employees." She gestured towards the bar, "Lead the way Jupiter."
Kitra winced inwardly as Jupiter grabbed a table first and a small party glared at them. She blinked and shook her head, "Yea, in his case it's better to be safe then sorry." Kitra fidled with her napkin as she thought for a moment, 'what do I tell him? I really am not sure what really happened myself. Oh well, I'll just tell what I know and have figured out for myself.' She looked up at Jupiter, "I guess you could say I ran from everything, and I mean everything. I ran from the labs, from my er....dead yet somehow alive again boyfriend, and the whole registration crap. Half the time I wasn't even aware of what was happening, I just drove and slept when I had too. Somehow I managed to land myself back in New York about a week ago." Kitra took a deep breath and let it out slowly, "I finally managed to walk back into the labs earlier today, but left in search of people I had met during that whole ordeal." She shrugged, "That's how I ended up here, speaking with you." Kitra smiled, "So what brought you and your brethern, if thats the right word, here? If you don't mind me asking of course," she added hastily."
