The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

Sam smiled as Streak seemed pretty cool with everything but a sad look came on Sam’s face when Nika heard camps. She clearly didn’t talk about it. That’s when she spoke and Sam’s face immediately lightened hen he thought of a subject change.
"I don't like to talk about that place at all."
Sam jumped from the chair he was in and clapped his hands together stealing everyone’s attention, he then stuttered for a second, and said “uhh…uhh… My favorite thing about this place is the opportunities it presents for you, right now I am trying to be apart of the X-men.” Sam smiled and blushed, he hated talking about himself but Nika was clearly uncomfortable and that was the last thing he wanted anyone to feel. He also felt like a kid with dreams that were just out of his reach, the smile faded from his face as he looked up to see everyone’s expressions.

Streak saw Nika's reaction at the mention of the camps. He didn't know what happened on the womens side but he always figured it was worse than the mens side.
"I don't like to talk about that place at all." Nika said. She seemed to go off into her own world for a little bit. Streak relaxed in his chair, put his hands behind his head as the memories of the camp flooded back to him. His face turned sombre and distant.
He didn't notice when Sam jumped out of his chair but was brought back to reality when he clapped his hands together. Streak was a little startled by that but didn't move very much.
“uhh…uhh… My favorite thing about this place is the opportunities it presents for you, right now I am trying to be apart of the X-men.”
This intrigued Streak. He was always interested in who was going to join the team. "Really?" Streak said a smile growing on his face. This guy seemed nice enough. "I heard it was really hard to get into that group." He said playing dumb. He knew about joining and when he had his little tryout it was very hard and taxing physically and mentally.
Nika could see her sudden mood change also affected the guys. Both of them wanted to change the subject. She just wasn't sure if it was because they felt uncomfortable or because they didn't want Nika to be sad anymore. What ever the reason the topic did change when Sam mentioned wanting to be an X-Man.
Streak was also interested in what Sam had said. Nika smiled and giggled at Streaks reaction however. She knew that both of them had already been accepted to be on the X-Men team yet Streak wasn't saying anything about it. Instead he was hoping to hear more from Sam and so was Nika.

"I heard it was really hard to get into that group."
Sam looked as Streak spoke and after he finished Sam shifted his head to Nika who smiled and let out a giggle. Sam felt a little awkward. Recovering his voice from that pause Sam said, “I didn’t here anything about that, but that kind of seems like a bummer now.” Sam smiled and scratched his head, “Kind of seems like a waste after that training session with Neena then.”
Sam repositioned himself in his chair and then said, “so how hard is it to get into the X-Men, I haven’t really heard that much about them from the other students.” Sam leaned forward like he was about to hear a secret from the two.

(ooc: Nika if people aren't supposed to know whose in the Xmen let me know and I'll change this)
Streak glanced at Nika when she let out a little giggle. He knew just as well as he did that they were both part of the X-Men. He looked back at Sam as he started speaking again.
“I didn’t here anything about that, but that kind of seems like a bummer now.” “Kind of seems like a waste after that training session with Neena then.”
Once Sam said this Streak thought it was best to stop pretending and try to convince him to go back and get through all the trials. He liked this guy and would like to fight beside him on any mission. "Ok, look." Streak started, "It's not really that hard to get in. I was just hoping to get your reaction about it." He leaned forward and rested his elbows on his knees. Now, why would you say you 'its a waste of time with Neena' cause I've got news for you. What ever 'training session'" Streak made quotation marks with his hands, "you did with Neena was probably part of you audition towards joining the X-Men." He said to him leaning back in his chair with a grin and waiting for Nika to say.
Once Sam started talking about hoping to be part of the X-Men he had Nika's attention. She let Streak question the other guy all the while trying not to giggle. Was Streak really going to keep playing his little game? No, he stopped his question and answer session rather quickly.
Sitting up Nika stretched a bit and then crossd her legs. "Oh Neena is a great teacher. She helped me through a series of rather vigorous training sessions. She's tough but she cares so that's why she can be tough. You should feel good about getting to train with her." Nika started playing with the tip of her tail as she continued on. "You can't become and X-Man over night or even in a week. You really have to prove yourself both in training and in the real world."
Garrett had been in the kitchen drinking some soda when he heard a loud noise. It sounded like someone smacking something. He then heard some voices coming from the living room, a place he hadn't frequented much. He figured living was just as acceptable anywhere else and he wasn't much of a television watcher. He decided he would investigate since he didn't have much else to do.
Rounding the corner, he found Sam talking to people. It wasn't a surprise. He had seen Sam all over the Mansion mingling with people. Some people were just more social than others. As he walked in the room there was another guy around their age, though he looked more serious and weathered. He had probably been here for some time. On the couch was a girl who resembled a cat. With a tail, even. She was talking about the X-Men. a topic he had wondered about since he had arrived.
Sipping his soda, he said," Hey, Sam. What's up?" seeing nowhere to insert himself, he just sat in the floor with his legs crossed. He looked at the other two in turn, nodding and smiling." Hey guys. Sorry to interrupt. I heard some kind of smack or clap or something and thought I would see what's going on."

Sam new full well that the training session was an addition, but he didn’t say anything. He smiled to Streak, ”You sure know a lot about this don’t you?” waiting for a second he then looked over to Nika, “I didn’t plan on wasting anyone’s time I am well aware that it is going to take lots of time and I am more than willing to sacrifice that time to be part of a team that great.” He smiled at her and then said, ”I need a goal to work for as of now and I think that the X-men is the best choice for me right now.” He then looked down and continued, “it could also help me find my family.” he paused for a second his cheery smile left his face and was replaced with a sad one as he tried to remember them. Just as he was seconds from remembering their faces someone entered the room.
“Hey guys. Sorry to interrupt. I heard some kind of smack or clap or something and thought I would see what's going on."
Sam’s smile returned back to his face as Garret entered the room. “Hey Garret, what’s up?” he looked around hoping that someone new Garret beside him he hated to introduce people but he seemed he had to do it anyway. “Guys this is my buddy Garret,” Sam wasn’t sure if garret would have been to thrilled about Sam introducing him as a friend seeing as they only really met once or twice. Sam pointed to Nika “Garret this is Nika, Nika this is Garret.” Then he pointed to Streak “Garret this is Streak, Streak this is Garret.” Sam smiled as he thought he did an alright job of introducing Garret to the others.

Streak looked at the new guy coming into the room. It seemed like Sam was the only one who knew him. When Sam introduced Garret to them Streak waved and said, "Hey." Garret looked about Streak's age only bald. He watched Garret take a seat on the floor and join in the conversation. Streak turned back to Sam and answered his question.
'Ya. I do. I just had my audition a little while ago. Aside from it being hard it was kind of fun." He said all this with a smile on his face. He was in fact proud of how well his audition went with Neena. "Nika on the other hand was in it before me so she knows more about it than I do." Shawn said indicating Nika and hoping she had more information than he could give.
A new guy walked into the living room. He was around the same age as everyone else currently in the room give or take a couple years. He didn't have any hair on his head and he spoke with Sam like they already knew each other. Sam introduced everyone and Nika gave Garrett a smile and a cheerful wave.
"Well, Sam if you plan to help people out then striving to be an X-Man is a pretty good goal. I can tell you that the trial myself and several others went through was both fun and intense at the same time."
Nika looked to Streak as he mentioned her.
"I wasn't in it much more than you were so I really don't know much more."
Looking to the new guy Nika tilted her head to the right slightly in a curious manner.
"So Garrett, how long haave you been at the mansion?"
Garrett was pleasantly surprised by everyone's friendliness. He had known that Sam was pretty sociable, but even these two, who he'd never met before, seemed just as easy to talk to. As it seemed that the one named Streak was in the middle of a conversation, he just returned the polite nod, trying not to interrupt the conversation. Streak. Maybe he was a fast runner? One could never tell around the Mansion.
Nika, the cat girl, seemed to be warm and inquisitive. Who knew? She had asked him how long he had been there. He hadn't really thought about it until now." Well, let's see. I suppose a few weeks. Ghost and I repaired the big hole on the wall near the front gates. I spend alot of time outside on the grounds too. I figure I might as well before winter, you know?" He smiled at her in a friendly way, glad to be in some sort of a social setting, though he always had Maya on his mind.

Sam waited till Garret was done talking then he looked back to Nika to respond to her previous comment. Well, Sam if you plan to help people out then striving to be an X-Man is a pretty good goal. I can tell you that the trial myself and several others went through was both fun and intense at the same time."
“Nika that’s is the exact reason I am trying to become one, I got these powers for a reason right?” He paused for a second freezing his hand and raising it so the others could see. “Besides I think I have a lot to make up for.” Sam was of course talking about his past full of murder. It was a life he would want to erase from his life and in Sam’s opinion the first steps to erasing it is striving to use his powers to help instead of harm.
Sam then looked back to Garret with a smile on his face he said teasingly, “How is ghost?” Sam new from the moment they met that there was something between them what that something was Sam wasn’t sure but he was curious to say the least.
Garrett appeared to have a very friendly side to him and he was sharing it with the small group. Nika was enjoying this little gathering. It was helping her learn about some of the new residents.
"Oh, I might've passed by you once or twice then. I was helping to haul out all the trashed up furniture and stuff."
When Sam spoke up about his goal to do good Nika smiled. That really was a good thing to strive for. From Nika could tell most of the people in the mansion wanted to be helpful in some way or another.
"That sounds good Sam, but what is it you have to make up for?"
Garrett smiled as Nika was just as friendly as the rest. Perhaps he had made a mistake not coming down and socializing before. Everyone seemed so warm and amiable. It appeared to him that Sam was fishing for information about Ghost. That or trying to mess with him. He played it cool and smiled back at Sam saying,"We're both fine thanks. I'll tell her you said hello. He smiled back at Sam with the same mischievous grin he was flashed.
It felt good to just be one of the guys for a change. Not the pain freak. He looked at Nika and said in response to her mention, " I'm sure I would have noticed you, but I guess I was pretty distracted." He looked back over at Sam, adding a chuckle.

Streak listened into in on the conversation. He automatically started listening to what the other were saying trying to get an idea of what Garret was like. His first impression seemed good but he was sure that he was was missing something. After a while of listening he guessed he was just being paranoid and dismissed the idea. When Garret made his last comment Streak felt like he was missing something in the conversation. He put a smile on his face and started to pay more attention to the conversation.
"So, Garret. Is there any special reason you're here besides the fact that you probably want better control of your powers?" It was the first thing that came to his mind. He was just trying to stay in the conversation even if it was small talk and maybe a little insignificant.
