The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

Kitra moaned as she opened her eyes. She felt like someone had bulldozed over her. She looked up groggely as a nurse leaned over her. "Hello there Miss Kitra. How do you feel?" Kitra let out a hiss of pain as she tried to sit up, her muscles were like rubber and twanged as she moved. "I hurt.....like hell," Kitra spat out. The nurse patted her arm and moved to put something in the iv that was attached to her arm. 'Weird I didn't notice that I'm stuck with tubes and stuff. I must really be out of it.' All this went through her mind as she passed out.
For the second time Kitra opened her eyes. She didn't feel as bad this time though. She decided to test this by getting off the bed. 'Thats odd, I wonder how long I was sleeping for again.' The nurse moved quickly to Kitra's side. "Feeling better I take it then." Without waiting for an answer she continued, "You got a nasty fever and collapsed at the front gate about 4 days ago. Mr. Antonescu will be pleased that you're awake again."
Kitra blinked, then spoke softly, "May I leave?" She looked up as the nurse nodded. All of the tubes that had been sticking out of her previously were now gone. The nurse handed Kitra her clothes, "Just be careful and don't push yourself too hard." Kitra nodded and dressed then slowly walked out of the infirmary.
Kitra paused, she felt like someone was watching her. She slowly turned and her eyes locked onto a figure that shouldn't have been there. Couldn't have been there, it's not right having her eyes play tricks on her. 'There's no way, it can't be. Hunter told me he was dead. This is impossible.' With tears leaking out of her eyes, she half walked, half stumbled towards him. Her voice was a trembling whisper, "Is this true? Are you really there? Or am I still feverish and dreaming?" Kitra reached out her hand to touch him, she was so close. But before she could, she slipped into a dark abyss as she spoke his name, "Zelek."
Kitra moaned as she opened her eyes. 'Bright lights and smells like hosipital....I must be back in the infimary. Ugh, but why, oh my gosh thats right! Zelek' She sat upright and looked around only to see very pissed off nurses and docters. There were guards as well, she wondered why. Then she spotted Zelek, he was there, honestly and truly there. A tear fell from her eye and she shoved herself off the bed. "I think I need to eat something then I'll be fine," she mumbled to one of the very pissed off looking nurses. "Fine, just take him with you!" The nurse shrilled out. "Whatever, I'm going to the dining area." Kitra looked at Zelek, "You coming? I have some questions for you." Now that she had taken a second look, he seemed different and looked a little different as well. 'Best to try and stay calm, at least until I can get him away from those guards.'
Kitra moved slowly through the maze that was Mondragon Labs, making her way to the canteen. 'It seems like Zelek doesn't remember me, I wonder why.' Once in the canteen she picked up some fruits and veggies and a glass or orange juice. She found an empty table and sat down. Once Zelek joined her she spoke, "It looks like you don't remember me." Kitra smiled sadly, "Zelek, what happened to you?"
Her head snapped upwards at his words. 'What the hell?' Kitra mentally shook her head, 'This has got to be a dream, he's not supposed to be alive. This could be an effect of whatever fever I had. I wonder what it was anyway.' Now she mentally slapped herself, 'Get a grip girl! He's right in front of you, maybe doesn't remember you but he is here. Make the best of it damnit!' She took a sip of orange juice before speaking, "Well, I met you out of the blue one day, in Times Square. After that we saw a bit more of each other. We flirted as well, it was awesome." A smile had come to her face as she recalled those happy events, then it changed into a sad smile. "I was devasted when I found out you were killed by a Stalker. I felt, empty." She looked up, not sure of his reaction or what he would do.
"My name is Kitra." Before she could say anything else, a guard spoke up. Kitra stood, "I don't give a damn what you say, or who's order's you may be following. Back off, unless you'd like to pick a fight with someone who has an excellent imagination at hand." She cleared her throat and sat back down, "Yes, we met in Times Square." She laughed slightly, "You were doing slight of hand tricks and I called you a cutie and asked you what your name was. From there we flirted the rest of the night while we ate pizza and you gave me your number and I headed off to an art store." She looked down, slightly blushing at remembering everything. Kitra hoped that Zelek would regain his memories soon, really soon.
Kitra smirked, "More like I thought you were the cutie and then you flattered me to the point where I was very very red." She tilted her head, "You could say we were dating and we had hoped to get more serious. At least I know I was." She shrugged and munched on an apple. Very softly she spoke again, "I truly did miss you Zelek, and nor do I care how much you may have changed. Please keep that in mind."
Well, she hadn't thought she could go redder then her hair, but she did when Zelek touched her hair and smiled at her. Kitra nodded then spoke, "Hunter Antonescu was the one who told me. I had expressed my worries at not seeing you for awhile and he told me, not happily either." I think it's a wonderful idea to get to know one another again." She held out her hand, "Hello, I'm Kitra. I love to draw and that's also part of my abilities." She fell silent, a small smile on her face as she waited for him to answer.
Kitra looked down at her plate and blinked a few times. "No no I normally eat meats, I guess I wasn't in the mood for them right now." She looked at Zelek as she got up, "It should come back with time." Kitra brought her plate and glass up to the counters to be cleaned. She went back to the table with a bottle of fruit punch gatorade. She smiled at Zelek, "I'm going out to the training grounds. I need to get some practice in, since I've been out cold for a few days. You want to come with?"
Kitra shrugged, "I may not be in my top form but if I don't start now, then I won't want to." She gave him a halfway grin, "Follow me. Do you like archery by any chance?" She fiddled with her thumbs for a bit as they made their way to the training grounds. "Or maybe some sort of sparring? In a few days we could perhaps spar with weapons if you'd like." Kitra realized that she was sounding very shy and quite unlike herself.
Once they got to the training grounds, Kitra went right for the shed with all the archery equipment. She grabbed her normal set of items and headed towards the targets. It took her a few minutes longer then usual to get the strings on her choice of bows. Once she had that accomplished this, she grabbed a quiver and stepped up to her starting point. She winced slightly as she pulled back, 'This is gonna hurt tomorrow.' Kitra then sighted and released. She paused before notching another arrow to see what Zelek was up to.
Kitra grinned, "You've never used one huh. Hmm, let's see." She trailed off as she picked up the longbow and turned so Zelek could watch her string it. Once it was strung, she handed it to him. "Give it a go, it's not that hard and in some ways it's rather realixing." **I know its spelled wrong XD** Kitra turned back to her target, "So Zelek, you really don't remember anything at all do you? No inkling of a crazy redhead, someone that loved having fun, nothing at all about me?" She bite her lip, 'maybe that was a bad thing to ask but she just couldn't believe he remembered nothing.'
Kitra nodded, "It would be very nice to do that." She moved to her target and retrieved her arrows. She returned and as she notched one and let it loose she spoke softly, so soft it could barely be called a whisper. "I'm sure Hunter has taught you to be a vampire by now, hunting and all. Do you enjoy it?" She smiled sadly, still speaking softly, "And you'll live for a very long time. How could such a thing be enjoyable? Everyone you may care for dieing of old age, no one around you to love you either. Don't you think you would be lonely?" Her bow fell as her arm dropped and she stood silent and motionless.
Kitra nodded slowly, "Well, at least you and Hunter will have each other's company." She drew back and loosed another arrow. "Do you have any idea of things you might like to do Zelek? Maybe something that sounds interesting to you. I'm open for just about anything."
