The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

Had Slade been in control of his form he would have slammed on the brakes there and then! "What? How could you be responsible you didn't make me transform..." Slade retorted, lost once more, this woman was harder to work out than a rubix cube... "Did you..?" After thinking about it with the utter madness that had ensued this day anything was possible.
Had it been anyone else he realised he would have been furious... but for some reason he couldn't bring himself to find fault with this woman. Even if she caused all this she had more than saved his behind earlier. Not to mention she was driving him home and he could only empathise with how utterly strange that must be for her. Exhaling slowly he continued, "You know what, it doesn't matter if you did cause it. In some ways I'm glad you did." He meant it. He could barely remember the last time he had spoken civilly with another person, this registration act had forced him into almost a hermit life style. He had rarely left his car form since the act had been passed and it was nice to finally speak to someone without them screaming at you in fear or anger.
He realised the next turning would lead them straight up to his place. "Turn left here, then follow the road for about ten minutes and we're there."
"What? How could you be responsible you didn't make me transform... Did you..?[/i]" Slade's angry response came followed by a slight change in the driving, as if he was trying to get control over himself once again. Alexandra gulped, and waited to see what he would do next. Ask her to stop, walk home, maybe battle with her. But she felt so tired, she wasn't in the mood for any of this. She didn't want mutants to get hurt, exposed, captured or so. She only hated humans. With passion. His next reaction amazed her. Ever since her powers manifested, everyone seemed to find a hard time in understanding her actions. That's why, Slade's reply left her with her mouth open. "You know what, it doesn't matter if you did cause it. In some ways I'm glad you did.[/i]" Alexandra smiled sincerely. "Thanks. I didn't want mutants to get hurt. Never." she said. As they passed an intersection, Slade informed her that the next turning is the one she has to take. Alexandra complied, and after another ten minutes of driving, they got to the end of the road.
ic - circe drove him in a somewhat peaceful silence down the avenue. He thought about her last words carefully, he got the idea that there was much more to her than met the eye.
Pulling up outside the small abandoned garage Slade felt he could finally relax. He was in need of a serious dose of petroleum! He sensed the street lamps beginning to burn into life. The darkness was beginning to settle over NYC. Crackling his radio into life this time it almost felt wrong to break the somewhat serene silence flilling his car.
"Pull into the side alley, its dark enough for me to transform and enter through the side entrance." He began to consider what she was going to do now, if she was as tired as he felt there was no way he was letting her walk. "If you need a cab I'll call it when we're inside. Are you feeling alright?"
After the weirdest of afternoons, the first thing he wanted was the control of his body back. It had certainly been the strangest experience he had ever felt being driven by another person. He just hoped that she'd want to see him again some time, she made him feel normal.
Alexandra followed Slade's indications, and in less than a minute they were in a dark alley. She wondered why is it that always they had to stay in the darkness, to hide like there was something wrong with them. She pushed away this thoughts. It wasn't the right time to think like that. "If you need a cab I'll call it when we're inside. Are you feeling alright?" Circe nodded and muttered something impossible to understand. She opened the door, got out of the car and waited silently until Slade transformed.
If Slade had eyes in his car form he would have blinked reflexively in his efforts to understand what had just been said. She sounded completely exhausted! Opening the car door for her he felt the weight that was Circe vacate his driving seat. He felt both a feeling of exhilarating freedom returning and then a sombring emptiness. Nevertheless he was finally able to move wherever the hell he wanted, and he really needed a drink!
Whirs, buzzes and clicks began to simulate as his systems began to change. Pressing out momentarily his parts began to shift inwards, spinning and folding into the centre of the chassis. At the centre the rotating pistons, metal plates and engine parts began to connect, swinging upwards as the size of the organic metal shrank, returning to its humanoid size. Ponderously climbing from the mass of moving parts Slade slowly seemed to clamber his way out of the top, his torso raising slowly as his parts snapped into place and pushed his height upto its full 6'8" reach. He stretched, flexing as the final pieces flipped and connected into place. Rotating his head on his shoulders he sighed exhaustively, breathing in the warm night air.
"You better come in." Slade ushered towards Circe as he hit the rusty side door open. He glanced inside, the place was a single room, but large as it used to be a workspace for a mechanic store. It was quite bare, with a few added items by Slade. A musty, beaten up couch with a busted up television dominated the centre of the room, over on one corner a work desk was still standing, upon which stood a phone and lots of little enineering "junk gyzmos" that Slade had been playing with. Next to it stood a large barrel of engine fuel, with a mug balanced on the rim.
Over on the other side, above the main garage entrance was hanging a basketball net, under which Slade's old basketball lay on the cold grey concrete. Behind this a mattress lay on the floor, an old duvet covering most of it. The walls were rusted and only partially coated in paint, dust settled across an area of the floor. All the windows were covered in either paint or grime. "It's not much," Slade smiled as he held the door open, "But it's home..."
([OOC]: Thank you Slade. Yours are too. Really IC. You give me the impression that you really feel your character. ) Alexandra looked fascinated as the car began to change till it came to the humanoid form she saw back in Times Square. "You better come in." Then Slade pushed an old open to reveal a rather wide but a bit empty space. A couch, a tv, a desk and a matress was about everything that was in the room. "It's not much, but it's home.[/i]" Slade said, keeping the door open. Alexandra smiled as well as entered, then, after walking a few metres stopped. She had this problem with unknown spaces and people. There was no problem when she was supposed to beat them but what about when she she didn't? So she remained there, waiting for Slade to say something.
ic - Slade followed Circe in, watching as she paused. Slade felt that this time it was her turn to feel awkward rather than his... Then he remembered his growling stomach. Striding over to the barrel of fuel he dipped in his mug and brought it to his mouth. Inhaling the fumes as he drank his systems began to purr happily. Turning, his posture now slack, he looked over to Circe still standing out in the middle of the room.
"Maybe you should sit down yeah?" Slade gestured over to the dilapidated couch. "Haven't got too many channels on the box, and as you can see I havent any food that you could eat, but I have the number to a pizza place somewhere..." Slade refilled his mug and downed another dosage of petroleum. Coughing contentedly he continued, "You're welcome to stay, but if you want to go I can call you a cab for wherever you need."
Circe watched how Slade entered as well, and began to drank something. Could have been... petroleum? It seemed so... Go figure. He was a car after all, he couldn't drink beer. "Maybe you should sit down yeah?[/i]" Slade said after a good half a minute of watching her sitting in the middle of the room. Alexandra mumbled something and robotically sat down. This was akward. Maybe even more than driving Slade around the city. "Haven't got too many channels on the box, and as you can see I havent any food that you could eat, but I have the number to a pizza place somewhere...[/i]" Slade continued as he refilled the mug with whatever he was drinking. Then coughing, he added. "You're welcome to stay, but if you want to go I can call you a cab for wherever you need.[/i]" Alexandra looked at Slade, something of a confused look in her eyes. She really didn't know what to say. "Maybe it would be better if I go at... home... I mean..." Her voice was low, as she was talking more to herself than Slade. She took a deep breath. Hell, at home she would be bored. She didn't know anyone, she didn't know New York. So with a bright smile on her face, she looked at Slade. "Pizza sounds fine." she announced.
"Maybe it would be better if I go at... home... I mean..." Slade saw her pause, he wondered what must be going through her head, and then to his surprise she smiled. Slade assumed this was a good thing, she continued to say, "Pizza sounds fine." Slade could have double taked... she was going to stay! It was nice to be talking to someone who seemed to actually want to spend time with him.
Grinning daftly he replied, "awesome, although you'll have to answer the door I think I'd scare the delivery boy off!" He chuckled as he began to input the dial tone for the take out, "If you flick the box onto third channel i think the basketball is on, uh celtics are playing spurs i think."
He heard the ringtone as he finished dialling the number. Turning round he realised something important. "My real name, by the way, it's Sirius."
"Awesome, although you'll have to answer the door I think I'd scare the delivery boy off![/i]" came Slade's reply, followed by a grin. Alexandra laughed at this and nodded in acknowledgement. "If you flick the box onto third channel i think the basketball is on, uh celtics are playing spurs i think.[/i]" he continued as he bagan to dial a number on the phone. Alexandra turned on the tv, passed over the news channel as they were broadcasting yet another news about dangerous mutants and choose a music channel instead of the sports channel. She wasn't such a big fan of sports. She hoped that Slade didn't mind. He turned around and looked at her as if something happened. For a moment Alexandra thought that he was upset about the music thing. "My real name, by the way, it's Sirius.[/i]" he spoke. Alexandra breathed relieved. "Nice to meet you. I'm Alexandra." she replied.
As Slade ordered the pizza he smiled to himself, this whole situation made him feel almost human again. Almost. He hadn't commented on her choice of television program, not that he minded the highlights would be on tomorrow anyway. Putting down the phone he walked over lazily and slouched down on the couch next to Alexandra. The poor couch sagged slightly as his metallic form collapsed onto it. Trying to feign interest in the music he said, "Pretty name, it suits you." Slade paused, trying to discern the message of the song currently on the channel... He turned to Alexandra to say "the pizza will be here soon by the way. You know I always used to chow down on pizza after a hard day aith Fre..." Slade bit his tongue as he stopped mid sentence. Now was not the time to bring up Freddie. It never was. "Ow sorry, uh Freddie... Anyway, what brings you to the city that never sleeps?"
Slade, or better said Sirius came and sat next to her. "Pretty name, it suits you.[/i]" Slade said after finishing ordering the pizza. Alexandra smiled. "the pizza will be here soon by the way. You know I always used to chow down on pizza after a hard day aith Fre...[/i]" He stopped, as if he had said something wrong. Alexandra took it as it was something personal... even unpleasant. "Ow sorry, uh Freddie... Anyway, what brings you to the city that never sleeps?" Alexandra pretended that he didn't mention Freddie. She knew very well that it wasn't the most pleasurable to talk about bad things that happened in the past. Instead she shrugged at his question. "Well, back home, things were getting ugly. So I decided to take my chances here." she replied. She couldn't forget how ugly things were back home. She pushed the thought away, she was here now. She didn't need to worry right now. "Sirius, do you mind if I smoke here?"
Slade couldn't help but think that somehow smoking was her reflex when the conversation got delicate... Slade's certainly would be had he been able to. "Sorry, didn't mean to bring up bad memories." Slade replied empathetically, "and sure smoke all you need it won't hurt my lungs anymore!" Slade chuckled, trying to ease off from any topic that might make either of them depressed or awkward. He really had forgotten how to converse tactfully...
"I come from Boston myself, moved up here a few years ago before this ludicrous act came into being. I'm an engine techy, you see, I used to work in the mutant downtowns..." Slade paused, aware that he was beginning to monologue! "So have you seen much of New York yet? Are you going to stay here for good or are you hoping to move on somewhere else?"
Alexandra removed her jacket and took a cigarette from her pocket. Lighting it, she inhaled the smoke, taking a deep breath. "No problem. Doesn't hurt. Much." she replied. She listened as Sirius was telling bits of his history and almost wanted to laugh when he changed the subject, probably thinking that he was speaking too much. "Haven't seen to much. But I guess I'll have enough time since I will live here. What about you?"
Slade frowned, unsure of where to look as she removed her jacket. He turned back to the tv and stretched. As she lit up her smoke she returned his question. "Oh I saw all the sites when it was ok to walk around as a mutant... I've been here a while now about 4 years or so." Yawning, Slade felt like it had been a lifetime. "I moved up here when I became a mutant..." Slade pondered for a moment, wondering just what he had achieved since he got here. "I needed to adjust to what I'd become, and I couldn't do that in Boston."
As he finished his statement a knock pounded from the side door. Slade realised the convenience of this, she'd got him talking about Boston again! He found it unnervinghow he could talk to her so easily. "That'll be your pizza Alexandra, in the draw under the phone there's a twenty for the bill." Walking near to the large garage entrance doors he collapsed comfortably into his car form, waiting patiently for alexandra to get her pizza. Like he'd said before, mustn't scare the pizza boy!
