The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

"Not to worry," Hunter said with a smile, "it'll come with time. After all, I've had over four centuries to perfect my hunting technique. I however did not have the advantage of someone to learn from, so it'll be a faster progression for you."
Hunter took a moment to reflect on exactly what changes his son would have on his life. To begin with he would be a constant with Hunter through the ages. Unlike everyone else around him Zelek would not fade away and die, but instead remain as vibrant as he was now. The thought made Hunter smile, the pair of them cutting a bloody swath through time.
"Of course," Hunter said in answer to the query of whether Zelek would have a chance to hunt on his own, "After all, I am a busy man and can't be expected to keep an eye on you all the time." Hunter grinned to show he meant the comment in a light hearted manner.
"As for your other abilities, I believe I can help you at least try to rediscover them. An ability that I have is the ability to absorb mutant's abilities by drinking their blood. Ingram's tests have confirmed that you do not have this ability, but you should still have at least some of your own powers. With practise and time we can unlock them."
"And at some point I'll need to introduce you to your sister," Hunter said almost absent mindedly. He wandered what Paragon would make of her new brother? Somehow he felt that she would not take the news well.
Hunter could hear the excitment in Zelek's voice and guess what the boy was thinking. "Sorry," Hunter said, "but the two of you have never met. She, like you, was another child born of experiment. She as as much my flesh and blood as you are. Unlike you she benifits from none of my abilities save one, the one you do not have."
"She can absorb other mutant's abilities, if they have been correctly processed. Currently she has five, and a combination effect. We are not exactly on good terms, she resents how I altered her, rather than accept it as you have. I do not know how she will feel having a brother." Hunter had no clue as to how the tempremental Paragon would react to this news. He hoped positivly, but knew full well that this may just drive her further away. "And stop calling me sir," he added as an after thought, "Makes me feel old." He chuckled at the irony.
As they reached the lab Hunter once again lead them through a specific series of turns to just avoid the guards. Once back at the lab Hunter walked with Zelek to his room. "I'm sorry about the room," he said as he changed back into a suit, "but Ingram still needs to run a few more tests."
"Once he gives you the all clear however you'll have the full freedom of the place. I'll introduce you to the people worth knowing and get you involved in the family buisness. Speaking of family, I'll try and arrange a meeting with your sister as soon as possible." Hunter had no idea how Paragon would take the news she now had a brother, but felt it best he tell her before he introduced her to Zelek.
Hunter laughed at the coffin comment. He had in fact done that once, but only to increase the mythos around him. Someone had been very determindly hunting him, and Hunter had decided that it would be fun to make himself appear to have more weaknesses than he did. He shrank away from garlic and holy symbols, and soon the myths spreaded. It was most entertaining to see the look on the man's face when he advanced on Hunter, a cross in one hand and silver stake in the other, only for Hunter to ignore both and break his arms.
"You don't think I'd just leave you in this room with only Ingram's sparkling personality to keep you entertained did you?" Hunter said with a smile. Walking over to the wall he tapped it and a console flipped out. "The lab has an extensive library of both books and DVDs. Simply cycle through until you find something you like and tap it. It'll arrive shortly and this console doubles as a DVD player. Hopefully that should help you fight off the boredom while Ingram finishes his tests."
