The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

Thirty-six hours and counting.
Dr.Jackson, more commonly known as TJ or Gearhead, walked into the Canteen. She had a pair of headphones over her ears with some techno blasting. "Twinkies...oh, Kit-Kats...Reeces." She began to mumble to herself as she entered the room, trying to decide what to get to snack on before heading back to the labs. She had been up all night, though she couldn't remember the last time she wasn't up 24/7. "Well deserved break." She said as she stretched her arms out and let out a yawn. In her mind she could still see the screens, numbers, equations and timers.
As she reached the serving area, she looked over the prepared food and began to mumble to herself about the nutritional value of the food. "Screw nutrition." She couldn't hear herself talk, but she knew what she was saying. She picked up a travel container of some lasagna, potato salad, buffalo wings, a couple slices of pepperoni pizza, a half sub, and a great many Twinkies, kit-Kat's, nutty bars, ho-hos, and other 'nutritional' munchies. This was a fairly normal run for her as the employees of Mondragon Labs came to accept.
She remembered her first trip to the Canteen. People gave her odd looks as she walked down the line picking up the most eclectic collection of food, and in mass quantities. She figured it disturbed and confused them as to how such a tiny thing as herself could not only carry, but eat all of the food she picked up.
TJ began to hum along with the current song, bobbing her head a bit, her step changed slightly to keep in time with the beat. When she reached the coffee area she stopped and touched one ear to her shoulder, then the other ear to the other should and repeated the process a few times while mumbling about coffee, it's pros and cons. She finally decided to get two espressos, one for her, and one for Dr.Ingram. "He's been at it for a while, longer than someone who needs sleep should. Maybe he'd like a pick-me-up." She shrugged, "If not, I'll end up drinking it." She smiled to herself as she put the food containers in a bag and got the espressos, one of them being mint. "MMMmmmm...God I love mint. OH!" She suddenly let out as she set down the drinks and ran over to the snacks and grabbed a few york peppermint patties as well as a quart of mint chocolate chip ice cream.
As she headed back to the drinks and the rest of her food, she noticed the cold pops. Grabbing another bag, she filled it up with Sobe, Mountain Dew, Pepsi Twist, Cherry Coke, and Sunkist. Quickly TJ picked up her stuff, along with some forks, spoons, knives, straws and napkins and headed out the door towards the labs. She didn't have a lab of her own here just yet, she shared one with Dr.Ingram. Shared was used loosely as her 'lab' was nearly as large as his, just set off to the side and completely separate systems.
Hunter intercepted Gearhead as she was heading back to the lab. She seemed to be carrying an inordinate amount of food for someone her size, but it never seemed to make her any bigger. Getting her attention he came over to her.
“Dr Jackson,” he said with a smile, “I have a little project for you. There is a mutant who can alter people’s way of thinking through use of pheromones. I want you to come up with a defence against this, as I don’t like not being in complete control of my thoughts. A concealed method would be preferred, but a successful one is required as soon as possible.”

TJ stopped suddenly when she saw Hunter. He always seemed to come from no where. It annoyed her slightly as well as surprising her. "Good Mornin...Evening...Afternoon...Night?" She looked at him confused. She honestly didn't know what time it was. Somehow she menouvered her items to get to a twinkie, open it and take a big bite out of it. In an extremely muffled way, "Ot obber ine in id." She shrugged and smiled waving away her previous words. Swallowing, "Doesn't matter I suppose." Listening to Hunter she raised an eyebrow, "Curious." She mumbled to herself as her eyes began to dart this way and that, as if she was reading pages of text that only she could see. In a very soft way, "Maybe...eeh...uruh. That could....wait..." A frustrated look on her face, "Stupid contradictory text." She looked up at Hunter. "You wouldn't happen to have a sample would you? A piece of hair, skin flake. It'd be easier if I had some DNA to help me." Her eyes were hopeful as she looked at him, he always seemed to have what she needed to make it easier.
“Not right now,” Hunter answered, “But I can obtain one in a few days if needed. Could you do it without? Anyone I send to obtain the sample will risk being exposed to the pheromones without protection. That’s a big risk, but if there is no alternative then I can get you your sample.”
If she really needed the sample he would divert Calley to go and steal Syn’s hair brush. There would be some stray hairs on that, so Dr Jackson would have her sample. He hoped to avoid doing that however, as if caught trying to explain his presence to Syn could prove difficult.

A pout crossed her face quickly, and disappeared almost instantly. "True true." She nodded as she spoke. "I don't NEED one, but it would help." Taking another bite of her twinke, she began to rapidly tap her fingers to her arm. Chewing quickly she swallowed. "The thing about pheromones, each species, no matter what, are specific for them alone. They don't effect others." Her eyes darted around again as she spoke. "Right now......I could probably develop a reactionary defense. Since they'd be coming from a Mutant." She began to nod. "If you can get a sample at a later time I can fine tune it." She looked at that man hopefully. "But no rush." She smiled. She haden't even realized she had turned off her music when Hunter had shown up. Somethings she did as a reaction.
“If you start work on a solution I’ll get a sample to you when I can,” Hunter told her. He had seen little of her work so far, but what he had seen impressed him. Plus as she worked twenty four hours a day she could work faster than anyone else. Once he had her defence against Syn’s pheromones meetings with the girl would be very different.

"I'll get right on it." She took a sip of her espesso and almost imediately felt the zing from it run through her. A slight shudder flew through her body, "ooOOoooOOo...that's nice." TJ began to walk away from Hunter towards the labs. She turned quickly. "Oh. Do you have an idea when you might next talk to his person?" Her tone was unusually serious, she wasn't fiddling with anything, muching, or moving in the least.
Hunter started to walk away when he heard Dr Jackson’s question. Pausing he said over his shoulder, “I’ve extended her an offer to come here. I’m sure you’ve heard of the upcoming anti-mutant bill. The Lab will be used as a base for mutant resistance. She could be here in a day or two, can you have something by then?”
He hoped she would, as without something to block Syn’s pheromones he’d have to keep her at distance, which would be awkward at best. With everything that was going on he could not afford to have Syn causing problems in his own lab.

Nodding to him, she took a few steps towards him...not away. "I think I can do that. I might need Dr.Ingram's assistance, ya know, have him run and/or oversee some tests for me." She got right up next to Hunter, "Please excuse this." She reached up slowly to his head and grabbed a hair near his scalp and pulled. "Sorry bout that. Your DNA I can't go without. I'll try to figure out how to use your own pheromones as part of the defense." She smiled and began to skip down the hall.
Hunter barely felt a thing as she plucked a single hair. As he watched her walk away he added, “So will you need to make a specific defence for each person? If so prioritise with the Kabal followed by high ranking scientists.” Calley was listed as high ranking, but for reasons unspecified. It would do him no good to have a spy with a loose tongue.

Gearhead stopped dead in her tracks and turned to him. "Nope. But you didn't specify anyone else needed the defense." She winked at him. "I'll probably be able to develop a generic defense for anyone, but," She paused and smiled at him slyly, "I'm guessing you are in high need of a better defense. Thus, your DNA is needed." She held her hand out, letting the thread of hair hang limply in the air, "If I'm wrong, I can just drop this here and let you use a generic defense system." She shrugged.
Hunter smiled, she had her priorities right. “I want both, generic and keyed to me. If you get time key one for you and James as well. You two know to much to start blabbing to the woman.” With a kurt nod he headed off, leaving her to get to work. Calley had a slight detour to take before heading to the mansion.

"Will do. Wait..." 'James?' Her face showed her confusion for a moment." 'Oh! That's right Ingram...Don't hear him called James often...' " She spoke and thought the words at the same time. "Not a problem." She mumbled a bit, "Hopefully he'll be cooperative...." TJ couldn't help but chuckle at the compliment Hunter gave her, even if it wasn't ment as one.
