The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

Chilla watched as the knife sailed through the air towards the creature... and right through the creature, which made it disappear and reappear further down the path. Just like she suspected. "I don't think that thing is real guys." Chilla stated, then noticing the questioning looks from her teammates added. "That thing has no smell to it."

Crystal would have fallen over laughing if she could have at Abyss's connection, or lack thereof, with the hologram Minotaur. She had to hand it to the big red man; he didn't lack confidence by any measure, and had a sense of humor to go with it.
Mandain seemed to realize the hologram may not be the threat it appeared to be, and Nox backed up the theory by sending a knife into the image, which passed through easily, along with several bushes before becoming lodged in one several corridors over. Then Chilla commented about the lack of smell. With a final roar, the Minotaur vanished, and the trembling ceased.
Crystal grinned, and decided to wait until they drew a bit closer to the building, before pulling another distraction out of her book of tricks.
Geo shoved his way through behind Abyss, his face was begining to get small scratches, as was his arms and legs. "Yo big red machine, any sign of an end of this bush hopping in sight." He jumped through the next bush covering his eyes with his forearm. This was definatly an anoyance but they were definatly making great time. He had to ammend Abyss' idea of going through instead of around. He glanced over his shoulder at the others following behind him, "You guys hanging on back there,"
"Yes, we're coming. I'm getting sick of climbing though bushes. Why don't one of you lift me up so we can see if we are headed the right way and how many more bushes are between us." Chilla replied completely annoyed after getting whacked in the face by a branch which cut her face.
Mandain gave a giggle when he saw that a branch slammed into Chilla's face, though the smile wasn't there for long, since he himself got a branch against his face, no cuts but it sure gave him a head ache. "Chilla, have a look and tell us what you see" Mandain made a quick step in front of Chilla and made the gesture that she could step on his hands to get a better view of the scenery. "I hope were close cause I wanna get out of here".
(OOC: I’m just trying to speed things along guys hope you don’t mind, its just otherwise we waste a round of posts seeing the edge of the maze rather than getting to it)
For the first time in Nox’s life the sound of her knife dropping onto the earth was welcomed, it meant after all they didn’t have to deal with a charging minotaur. As the group pressed onwards, she made a quick detour to retrieve her knife - she had a strange attachment to her weapons – before taking up her place at rear. Their repetitive manner returned almost immediately, and the memory of slight action of before soon became swallowed up in a world of hedges and path; and then hedges once more. In the course of their process the two teenagers, who had yet to prove themselves to be anything in Nox’s opinion, both decided that the silence was too pleasant and broke it. In both cases Nox ignored them. She didn’t need some youth, who still held life to be some sort of adventure, to ask whether a bush was too much for her. And since the other suggested being lifted up and then Mandain obliged her, it had nothing to do with her. Though she found it somewhat ironic that at the exact moment the girl was lifted up Nox caught the glimmer of open land ahead, Great timing.
They crashed through two more hedges before the open air embraced them. It was rather wonderful not to have twigs pulling at you skin, and to be able to see further than a couple of metres in each direction. Having taken in the situation in one quick sweep – there were at the far edge of a small patch of ornamental lawn that lead up to their goal, the castle – before turning her gaze onto the team. They seemed to be in good shape, a bit worse for wear especially some of the clothes, but otherwise fine. In the vain of ‘team spirit’ she supposed a comment wouldn’t go a miss, but what was more pressing was for them not to waste any more time – it seemed her competitive nature was coming through after all. So to cover both aspects she spoke: “Nice job everyone, I suppose we should go for the obvious, and enter.” And by enter she meant through a large pair of iron doors that even from this distance were visible.

(OOC: Very sorry for the delays. I'm posting this all at once, but feel free to rp the time inbetween if you wish. Any questions, please PM me or Katrina.
As the group approached, a lone female figure strode up, seemingly having phased right through the doors, and stopped directly in their path. Crystal smirked and shook her blonde head.
"Naughty, naughty. Boys and girls who break the rules can't go in until they think about what they've done. Sorry Northern Team, but no weapons allowed. You are officially grounded for two minutes, starting now."
A bright red square of light encircled the teammembers, harmless but quite vivid. From around a corner came a bot, a metal box gripped by its spindly, stick-figurish arms.
"Please deposit all knives, whips, guns, staffs, bombs, sharp objects and/or any other items commonly referred to as 'weapons' in the box. They will be returned to you at the end of the game, in the exact condition you left them in." Her grey eyes danced in amusement.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Crystal snapped her fingers, and the red square vanished after two minutes exactly.
"All right, my friends, you are free to continue dodging or attacking the unknown, as you see fit. Remember, no more dangerous toys, or I'm going to have to spank someone." She held up and shook one finger in threat, grinning as she did, then stepped backwards, through the door in the manner she'd appeared.
When the team reached the doors a woman came phasing threw the door. They got a two minute penalty because Nox had the knife on her that she used for dismantling the Minotaur. Shamefully you couldn't carry weapons and so a red light came underneath their feet. "Well now this is great, but what is done is done, anybody have a plan for what's behind these doors" Mandain looked to wards the doors and looked back to their group". We've got two minutes that are to waste so let's try to make them useful, any idea's?"
Not allowed powers. Not allowed weapons. What was the point exactly. And how come these rules had never been explained to me. Had anyone ever said ‘ and weapons are prohibited..’ – No! And what was even worse was that the messenger of bad news had this wonderful infuriating smirk. Taking a deep breath Nox regained control over the urge to try and kill this lady, and succeeded - just. She obliged and dropped the blade into the box, she even allowed a smile of her own to appear upon her lips.
A note on the origins of the smile, it was due to the thought trail that went something like this: They only realised I was carrying a knife after I used it. So they can’t tell. So they shouldn’t be able to know about the other blades (which were very well hidden). Excellent.
The smile, therefore, appeared for as she dropped the blade in question, along with pulling another out of the heel of her boot – so to appear as if she was following orders –, her thoughts remained on the various other blades concealed on her person which would be staying just where they were. It wasn’t that she intended on using them, she had learnt that lesson, but rather that she liked having them on her should anything unexpected occur. Apparently content the woman, who Nox now rather hated, disappeared. The satisfaction of lying was glowing within her and it was mixed with the glow of having beaten the system.
Dragging her thoughts back to their objective, she realised Mandain had a point – what next? Where did they search? Under the circumstances, since none of them could use their powers, it would be down to blind luck. So the only real question became should they work from the bottom up or the top down? Since unless they wanted this to be utterly random their best chance was to be methodical, or so Nox believed. She posed the new question to the group, her personal opinion on the matter being that they should find the lowest floor and work upwards, but it didn’t make much difference: “ Well do we want to start from the top or the bottom?”
Chilla glanced at the women who seemed rather anoyed at losing her weapons. Hiding a snicker in a cough she suggested that they search the the place from the bottom up that way nobody could escape easily cuz there was no where to go.
Chilla laughed at all the dust that kicked up, but her laugh turned to coughing, Still coughing she jumped up and and pined the rug to the ground... or at least attempted too... she just didn't weigh enough to keep it down
And so the plan was to go from down to up. When they were released and went on inside the castle, As Abyss swung the doors open a chandelier crashed and a huge amount of dust was lifted form the ground. "Well that was subtle". Mandain immediately covered his nose, mouth and eye's from the dust that was flying around. His suit was all covered in it, from top to his ass, and shoes, it was a mess. Mandain didn't really see what caused this but when the dust was gone it appeared to be a gigantic rug. "Uhm, are we in some sort of fairy tale like Aladdin"? He dusted of his suit and waited for the group.
It wasn’t so much the crashing of the falling chandelier but rather the thick clouds of dust which took Nox by surprise, and so within seconds she too was bent over and coughing as she tried to clear her airways. The more pressing, and far more unusual, problem, however, was that of the old carpet that evidently had learnt the secret of flight. The girl’s attempt of sitting on it proved only to be entertaining, since it soon become clear that you would need much more bulk for the method to be successful. Strangely enough Nox managed to control the urge to bounce over and see if her weight would help, because firstly her weight wasn’t going to help, secondly because the very idea of sitting on something to nullify it was beneath her and thirdly, well because she just couldn’t find it within herself to do so. Her mind, therefore, searched, trying to find another more respectable and successful option, but since she lacked ‘flying carpet' experience this proved to be rather difficult. Gotcha. Inspiration struck as her gaze fell upon a rather fine example of a traditional Grandfather Clock. All they needed to do was tip it over and trap the carpet underneath, which since the carpet was still trying to disentangle itself from the girl should be fairly simple. But since she was the furthest way from the clock and she doubted it would stay stuck forever, she realised instantly that the job would have to fall upon the shoulders of one of the others. She called out to the group - “The Grandfather clock! Tip it onto the carpet!”- hoping that one of the guys, preferably the one closest to the clock, would be able to tip the clock before the carpet was free again, and so letting their exploration of the castle begin.
(ooc: my computer has died a slow and painful death, so i will be gone for a little bit. feel free to skip me or push me around while i'm gone. I will do a catch up post when i get back, or when i can sneek onto one of the other computers in the house)
And so the pair wandered along though the castle. Time and time again Katrina could have sworn they had been here before. Then, as they were about to go through yet another familiar looking door, they could hear noises from the other side. There was a loud crash, like the smashing of thousands of glasses, muffled yelling, and fits of coughing. It sounded as if one of the teams had just walked into a trap.
Pluto held his finger to his lips for silence, then pushed open the door, simulataneuosly yelling "BOOGA BOOGA BOOGA!"
Katrina remained poised on his shoulder, invisible and silent.
The teammates were so busy coughing loudly that they might not have even heard Pluto's exclamation as he entered the room. They were busy dealing with a pesky carpet. Bits of broken glass and the twisted metal hulk of a smashed chandelier lay in the center of the room.
Katrina waited to see how the team would react to Pluto's arrival.
