The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

Crystal chose the Eastern section first, simply because it was first in the alphabet. She stared out of the cameras at those gathered, and immediately noticed that four out of the five had some version on red hair.
<“How odd,”> she thought to herself. Judging from statistics through out the state, redheads were the minority. Yet from her brief stay at the Labs, she discovered a majority. Interesting.
She went through her files to match the players. Kitra, the artist who brings her drawings into being. Shogun, the blind samurai that can sense life. Vibe, the mute sonic. Raven Fire, the heat manipulator. The fifth player, a young man, she didn’t have in her files, so she added it. Since powers were against the rules, she would have to watch and wait to find that out later, unless he slipped up by accident. She did a quick scan, and found that his suit was equipped to absorb electricity. She added that possibility to her files as the group conversed briefly about the game, and its rules and Shogun’s handicap.
”Can we move it along please?”
<“Well now. So the mute isn’t so mute anymore.”> Another scan uncovered the doctored necklace at the girl’s neck, sending out signals. <“A synthetic voice. Hmm... An impatient and grumpy as well. This should be fun.”>
Crystal grinned, and moved on to the Northern section, next in order.
(OOC: Crystal will only be popping in now and then, so please ignore her in your posting order. No need to wait at all.)

(OOC: Okay, it's been a several days, so I'm going to go ahead and push forward with the posting, but I'm still stalling IC for time until Abyss and Katrina return. Hope no one minds.
Vibe stalked away, not caring if the others were following or not. The object of the game, at least in her mind, was get in, find the kid, and get back out again. Hooray for the team that won.
Right.
On the other side of the wall, Vibe found herself in an expanse of green lawn. She followed the ruins a ways, away from the hedge maze. Despite being in ruins, most of the castle walls were too high to simply climb up. And Vibe didn't feel like breaking a sweat trying to do so anyway, so she began searching for either a door, or a hole, or something of the like.
Eventually she came to a long, rectangular area, lined with crumbling pillars. Rose bushes were in bloom, planted in a pattern around various piles of stone scattered about. Some of the statues were still in tact, more or less, while others were unrecognizable.
Vibe paused at the edge of the garden. Just beyond it was another walkway. Walkways usually led to doors, she reasoned. But for some reason the garden gave her the willies. Still, it might lead inside, so she slowly began to make her way across, looking at each bush and statue suspiciously as she passed.
She briefly paused to see if the rest of her team had decided to follow.

OOC: It's been a while since anyone posted, so I'm going to go ahead.
Shogun noted that Vibe gave everything in the garden a healthy amount of suspicion, and he decided that it was probably a good idea. He doubted that this would be as easy as a game of hide and seek, and there were probably other 'added difficulties besides their lack of powers. Shogun followed Vibe, but tried to keep between everyone so he knew where they all were. He definately didn't like his helmet, but he would definitely keep it. It would make a very good training aid, especially in preparation for combatting the Stalkers.
"Vibe's got the right idea, let's get moving." He hoped that the others would get their acts together and move, or else this was going to be a very long game.

As Vibe entered the statue garden, followed by Shogun, the eyes of one of the more intact statues moved. They followed the groups' procession into the midst of the marbled ruins.

Seeing the single twin again was like throwing gasoline on a pile of wood and lighting a torch. Now the question was who would toss the torch onto the wood and set it ablaze. Ali fought down the urge to start another battle with the seperated twin. She still had hard feelings for the girl after trying to show some compassion when they were outside the labs. Images of their brief but destructive fight still burned in her minds eye. Ali would watch the girl carefully.
As the others began moving and following Vibe Ali too went along. After all this was a team effort and even though she would have to work along side people she didn't know and didn't like the end result was still the same. Find the girl and get her out as a team.
Kitra shrugged and followed everyone as they made their way to the entrance. It seemed like Vibe wasn't in the mood to get along with anyone, especially Ali. It looked like Ali wanted nothing to do with Vibe either. 'This will be fun,' Kitra thought sarcastically. 'As long as there isn't any fights between us I suppose.' She rolled her eyes inwardly as she looked around them in the garden. Her eyes briefly stopped on a statue, it had looked like the eyes had been watching them. Kitra shivered, nah, it couldn't happen.

Shogun kept facing forward as e walked, but his mind's eye was keeping track of everything. He was paying quite a bit of attention to Vibe, so that he could avoid any obstacles, and he also made sure that he kept himself between Vibe and flame-girl. He didn't know the history, but he could feel the loathing between them, and he wasn't planning on letting them duke it out. Well, not until after the excersize, at least.

(OOC: Voltaire, let me know if I need to change this. I'm assuming you're last in line since you're the only one that hasn't posted entering the garden yet. Also, the vines and bushes are not real, but mechanical, with a hologram cover.)
Vibe tapped her foot irritably, as if doing so would speed up the others. She ignored the facts that Shogun was, effectively now, blind, Raven like her as little as she liked Raven, and the others seemed, rightly so, cautious about their surroundings.
She saw Kitra pause to look at a statue, and huffed.
"Ugh, can y'all move any slower?" she snipped, again forgetting to move her mouth in time with the words. "They're just a buncha statues."
As she spoke, on the ground behind her, a rose vine twitched; it was much closer to her ankle than it had been a moment ago.
(OOC: No problem, been a bit busy with school and all.)
Voltaire saw the group enter the garden that was right in front of them. He figured that entering as last person, he wouldn't be the target of what ever they throw at them.
as he moved into the garden he saw all kinds of bushes and plants around him. "Ugh, can y'all move any slower?" she snipped, again forgetting to move her mouth in time with the words. "They're just a buncha statues."
"statues?" He asked. He didn't wait for a answer and touched on of the plants. It felt as cold as steel. they weren't real. "You do realize that you don't build trust by being rude at them" He replied to the annoyed Vibe. After he said that he heard a rustle behind him. He quickly turned around and saw a big plant. "Must have been the wind." He thought.

Crystal watched and listened, through the eyes of one of the statues. There was quite a bit of tension in this group, most of which, it seemed, emanated from Ali and Vibe. Shogun seemed intent on simply watching his step, while Kitra and Voltaire hadn't said much, expect for Voltaire's comment about being rude.
<"Excellent. Let's pour a little gas on this spark, and see what happens."> Crystal input a command, and sat back to watch.
The vine behind Vibe had a small rosebud on the end of it. Abruptly it reared into sudden life, like a cobra rearing back to strike. The bud opened, revealing a set of four nasty-looking fangs. While the image was only a hologram, the metal vines hidden beneath were not exactly harmless. The tips of the coils were coated with urushiol, an oil found in such plants as poison ivy and poison oak. Even a glancing hit on any exposed skin would produce, first, an itchy red welt that would progressively worsen until, second, the area would blister and pain the unlucky recipient. Not a life-threatening attack, by any means, but definitely aimed at making life uncomfortable.
While the first vine set its sights on Vibe, the rest of the garden came alive. Numerous vines began weaving and waving about, before lashing out at the other four team members.
(OOC: seeing as nobody responded in a while i'll take the oppertunity. i hope that is ok)
Suddenly the vines of the garden came alive. Voltaire looked around what was happening. The first vines sat there eyes on vibe, immediatly attacking. Voltaire noticed this and quickly responded by grabing the vines and giving them a hard pull before they reached Vibe. The vines where pretty strong and he had to pull them real hard. He was slowly being pulled forward by the strenght of the vines. "Somebody help me!" He yelled at the other group members.

(OOC: It seems that the posting order doesn't work too well... maybe we should just kind of make sure noone gets left behind, and not really care what order we post in? Of course, if someone doesn't post and everyone else has posted a few times, then we'll wait and let them catch up, but otherwise I reckon we should just wing it, as I reckon it'll get everything moving a lot more smoothly)
Shogun snapped round before Voltaire shouted out, and made a guess at where the vine was. He ran over, and grabbed hold of the vine a little lower than where Voltaire was. He wasn't allowed to turn his armour on, so he was able to grab it without trouble, and began hauling at it. He managed to stop it, barely, though he feet still slipped a couple inches every few seconds. "Everybody, we aren't going to be able to take these things without powers. We need to move away from them, but because they're not living, I can't see them. So I'm going to need a little help to go anywhere." He hated relying on others, but he didn't have a whole lot of choice in the matter. If he had his horse, then whilst riding her she would be smart enough to avoid these things. But he'd have to make do.
Kitra jumped back in horror as the garden came to life. "Shogun's right, we should get out of this garden, er garden of nightmares that is." She gulped and made her way carefully to Shogun. She placed her hand on his shoulder, "You both need to let go at the same time. As soon as you do, we all need to hightail it outta here." She looked over at Ali and Vibe, "On the count of three. One, two three!"
