The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

"It does make sense," Hunter replied, "and you're going up against some of my best men. However, if you want a real challange from a sparring partner, go and ask Shogun. He'll see everyone of his attack coming and, while he's no where near as fast as me, he will seem like he is."
"As for the camps, I hope it can be dealt with in a conversation or two, but in all likelyhood will require more work. Still, with people like you working for me, I have no doubt we'll succeed."
Kitra blinked, "I'll ask Shogun the next time I see him." She tilted her head, contemplating Hunter. "You have a lot of trust in us then." She smirked, "Then again, it's possible the salary is what holds some in their place." She took another sip of her water as her mind drifted, finally settling on Zelek. She looked up meekly, " Hunter, was Zelek's body ever recovered?" She fidgeted slightly, "I'm sorry, that's a stupid question to ask."
Kitra fell silent again, feeling miserable. She missed Zelek, he had shown her a bit of kindness. He had been rather cute too. She leaned over and set her empty cup down an a small table. She would make all of those that opposed mutants pay. And dearly at that. There were so many good mutants that had lost their lives due to this registration act. She sighed, not really knowing she had down it outwardly.
"It's not a question of trust," said Hunter with a smile, "If you've been around as long as I have you get pretty good a reading people. So while yes, I do trust you with a lot, I also belive that I can read you well enough to knwo that the trust is not misplaced."
Hunter paused at the question about Zelek. He'd hoped to avoid this topic. "Yes," he answered finally, "the body was recovered. It's in a bad state though. The boy had his heart torn out."
Kitra's smile at Hunter's trust in her quickly faded as she shuddered. "Oh, I just wanted to make sure that he hadn't been taken by them." Her voice was nasty as she said them. Her hands curled into fists, but she let them go loose as she realized it wouldn't help her any. "Sorry Hunter, didn't mean to make you feel uneasy." The slight pause before Hunter answered her had made her feel bad. Some things shouldn't be brought up.
"My unease was for you," Hunter said, lying effortlessly, though somewhat reluctantly, "I didn't want you to see him the way he is. Best you remember him as he was." Finishing his drink Hunter rose from the chair.
"Anyway, enough depressing topics," he said with a smile, "I'm afriad I have work to do. Keep up your training Kitra, I have a feeling we're going to need it."
Kitra got up as well. "Thank you Hunter. I'll do my best." She padded her way to the door, the only people that would be able to hear her would be those with enhanced senses. She stopped at the door and looked at Hunter. "It's okay for me to open the door right?"
"Of course," said Hunter with a smile. Once Kitra had left Hunter headed deep into the inner workings of the lab to Dr Ingram's laboratory. Passing through the various security measures he entered. "James," Hunter said to the doctor who was hunched over something very delicate looking, "How is Project Invierea coming?"
Dr Ingram looked up from his work before answering, "It's coming along fine. I've managed to stabalise in time to prevent any damage. Once I can get around the problem with the pump I can begin the transfer. It's through there if you wish to take a look."
Nodding Hunter headed in the direction the doctor had pointed. Looking into the tank he cast his gaze upon the specimin. Things were going well. He had no doubt that the good doctor would overcome the current issue and that the transfer could begin shortly. Determining that everything was to his satisfaction Hunter left Ingram to his work.
Kitra followed Hunter out of the room and watched him walk away. She smiled and whispered, "Thank you Hunter and good luck." She knew full well that he would be able to hear her. She headed back to her room. She opened the door and headed strainght for bed after kicking off her shoes. She collapsed on her bed, her thoughts whirling around in her mind. The main thing wasn't Hunter being a vampire, but how to control her new powers. With that thought her eyes closed and she finally fell asleep.
