The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

IC: She blinked, what had just happened?? Hunter was immobolized and Tris had been attacking with even more of a vengeance. She dived downwards and grabbed the golden disc from Hunter and realized that Tris was getting rather heavy, in fact it looked like she was going to pass out. "Tris? You okay?"
"Mmmmmm, not really… feeling abit weird here… I thinking I aint gonna make it... what about you put me down... I might be able to hold em off while you get the disk"
She couldn't carry Tris and the golden disc over the wall, especially if Tris passed out. What to do what to do? The choice was obvious, but her and Tris were in this together and this needs to be finished though. Grr... I'm wasting time. Alright I'll do what Tris wants me too. She glared at Hunter, yes he was still immobolized but it made her feel a bit better. She was still near the ground so she set Tris on the ground. "Alright Tris" With those words she flew upwards at an angle towards the wall. At last about a minute or so later she reached the top and she snapped her wings shut and let herself drop. About five feet before the ground she unfurled her wings and glided over to the start and put the golden disc in its place. It's done.
Kitra nearly jumped out of her skin as the entire area started rumbling. She turned in dread and was so surpised that she lost control of her wings and fell on her behind."Ow." The wall, well it was gone and the maze had disappeared as well, so did the tower and the destruction that she and Tris had wraught. Kitra struggled to her feet and ran over to where Tris and Hunter were. She knelt down by Tris and looked up at Hunter. "Is she going to be okay?" It was kind of a funny question considering all of the cuts and bruises she had all over herself, but she was worried about Tris she couldn't help it. She hadn't wanted to leave her but she realized she never would have been able to finish the course, and realize that was part of the lesson she needed to learn...
((OOC: Tris is channeling her abilities from her unconscious to conscious mind right now, this has never happened before and its the place where her power work best- wants and desires and all......so she is gonna have more control, be more intuitive with her abilities and the freezes will last longer......until she runs out of luck of course))
Tris's smile echoed Hunter's own smug one as finally....FINALLY.....he'd actually been caught in a freeze- her elation masking her continuing fatigue, but she did notice she was lethargic and shaking like she'd never be warm again. Kit asked her if she'd be okay and the words seemed to come from far way away and it took her a fer extra seconds to comprehend their meaning.
She answered slowly, distracted and dazed;
"Mmmmmm, not really......feeling abit weird here.....I thinking I aint gonna make it.....what about you put me down.....I might be able to hold em off while you get the disk"
So Kit reluctantly agreed, placing Tris on the ground and swooped away to finish their mission.
With that piece of mind, Tris staggered and swayed over to lean heavily on the wall......there was something she still needed to do......what was it...... thoughts were coming sluggishly to her now, her brown eyes large in an increasingly ghostly pale face.........gotta keep Hunter occupied to give Kit time to finish......whats that it?.......cause he was frozen, no problem there......no, there was something else.......gotta keep everyone occupied while Kit finished, not just Hunter........Tris blinked blearily, her vision distorted and darking by the minute, but still kinda making out the two distant figures on the baloney, her thoughts becoming more simplistic by the second...... oh yeah, they could interfere with Kit, they could stop her or hurt her- and Tris wasn't having that, and besides, wasn't she mad at them or something?. Her energy levels dangerously low and flickering would usually cause Tris major cause for concern and to pull back and stop for fear of what might happen- but Hunter had taken care of that, she was going all out this time.
She waved a hand in a shaky lethargic gesture towards the two figures......her aim terribly random, but it didn't matter, she knew what she wanted to do.......she gathered her strength and focus and sent her exploding power up to the baloney- with alittle difference, it was like she was in a dream state or something- she though she could imagine every molecule of metal space that supported the two boys, and with very little persuasion, the surface under their feet heated up as she losened the molecular bond of the metal atoms.......the consequence of this- a fairly sizable chuck of baloney was dissolving into gritty, sand like, metal chunk....and was no longer solid and stand worthy.
This was done, not with the intention of harm, more of distraction.
With a happy sigh of a satisfaction at a job well done, Tris's body and mind, having been pushed bound their normal limits, chose this moment to collapse.
Her eyes rolled up in her head and she fell bonelessly to the ground- the black void of unconsciousness claiming her.
In an instant the view had changed. Kitra was nowhere to be seen and Tris was lying unconscious on the floor. Well, He thought, she actually did it, abandoned Tris to complete the mission. I didn’t think she’d do it. Nice to know even after all these years people can still surprise me.
However, he couldn’t muse about it for long. With her fear pushed aside Tris would have been pushing her body to the limit, there by using up her energy faster. Hunter had planned it to give Kitra the opportunity to complete the mission, but only by abandoning Tris.
Moving quickly to Tris’s side he quickly evaluated her. The girl was completely exhausted, unlikely to wake up in the next twenty four hours. However she was otherwise fine, and a good rest followed by a big meal should see here back to her old self.
Kitra made her way back to him after placing the golden disk in its place and deactivating the course. “Don’t worry,” he told her, “she just needs to rest, then she’ll be fine. Speaking of rest, you look like you could use some yourself, that session took a lot out of you.” Scooping Tris up in his arms Hunter made his way towards the infirmary.
She yawned, 'Yea it did and I am sorta tired.' "Alright Hunter." She followed him slowly to the infirmary. She knew she needed to get her sketchbooks back. But, it could wait.

Calley
Calley had been calmly attempting to figure out what the dark gray thing from the machine gun's innards did when, quite suddenly, the floor beneath him gave an ominous beach-like impression. Then it was falling. In the natural order of things, that meant he was falling, too.
Down.
Rather quickly.
With a somewhat surprised look upon his face.
Umm, Slate? Either I need to shift to bird, or you need to get ready for some serious healing.
Let us go with the more subtle of our options, shall we?
...Sure. Umm, floor.
They hit as they had fallen: in a comfortable cross-legged position. Their body made a sound that was anything but comfortable. Slate proved himself to be nearly as fast as their pain receptors, however.
...Did we just land on our spine?
The less you know, Calley, the less I have to put up with your squeamishness.
I fail to see how landing on our spine is me being squeamish.
We are healed now. What more do you require of me?
Slate lightly stood them up, brushed off their pants, and walked out of the room. One of them had to be rational about these things.[/color]
With the obsidian sketch pad still firmly within his grasp Zephyr raised a questioning eyebrow at Kitra as the girl gave her rather flippant response before darting forward and attempting to snatch an emerald bound volume from his arms, making no real effort to resist the elemental allowed the impulsive redhead to retrieve part of her arsenal. ‘Another with no concept of subtlety’ he thought with a small amount of disappointment as he watched the girl dive off the walkway and fly to her comrades rescue. Still it was not his concern how the girl chose to behave, that issue was solely Hunters responsibility and he would gladly leave the vampire to it; the last thing the merc desired at this moment was waste away countless hours of his time engraining the art of subtlety into the reckless minds of adolescent females.
After ascertaining that Kitra was indeed flying off to the aid of Ms. Evans he dismissed both girls from his thoughts as he once more turned his attention to the onyx volume still in his possession. His hands danced over the page briefly as the tips of his fingers felt the unusual texture of the paper and the way it seemed to grant more definition to every strike of ink or lead contained within it. There was no doubt that this was a professional piece of craftsmanship and Simons eyes noted with mild approval that at least some of the designs matched the caliber he would expect from art exhibits in higher realms of society.
There was no question that Kitra had the potential to become a master artisan, the question was whether she would develop that potential to it’s absolute limits for as he continued to browse the obsidian book the elemental had noticed a recurring theme with each and every design he had so far lain eyes upon. ‘Are weapons the only objects she is capable of depicting?’ he questioned with a puzzled frown as he began to flip the various pages at a faster rate, ‘has she limited herself to only creating that which is meant to destroy?’ No sooner had this thought occurred to the elemental when he abruptly found himself staring at a series of portraits scattered across the lengths of two pages in the midsection of the volume. After analyzing the sketches for moment it became clear to him from the lack of detail that they were simply rough designs, what Zephyr found incredibly intriguing though was the fact that he could identify almost every individual laid out before him. It hadn’t been an instant realization of course, it had been some time since he had met any members of the so called order after all, despite that though it was nearly impossible to forget someone who retained a form like Abyss; the man was a hulking giant and stood out like a sore thumb in a any crowd.
Upon identifying the crimson devil it had taken little additional effort to recognize the roughly sketched visage of the senior order member known as Syn, even though they had only met briefly Simon remembered the woman as being almost unbearably smug and possessing an attitude of superiority which had grated on his nerves like nothing else. At the time he had tolerated the behavior because he had been in search of employment and the order had seemed the only group of paying his fees, for a single moment the elemental actually felt thankful that he had managed to gain employment with Hunter, then the moment passed and he was once more intently studying the figures before him.
‘What have we here?’ the thought caused the slighted hint of a smile to haunt the merc’s lips as he stared down at a pair of female figures with almost identical features, even though the design lacked the girls trademarked scarlet manes of hair there no mistaking the brash duo he had encountered at the statue of liberty all that time ago who had proven to be both enlightening and annoying; the former because through the encounter he had developed an entirely new discipline for his powers, and the latter because the price he had paid for this new technique was a soiled suit. At the time Simon had only seen the incident as a nuisance but now that he could examine it in hindsight he could admit that the twins were responsible for the development of what had proven to be one of his most practical talents. ‘I shall have to think of how to appropriately express my gratitude when I next see them’ he mused with only the slightest tint of malice to the thought.
Abruptly the elemental was jarred from his internal machinations as a sudden series of explosions erupted below the walkway with such force that the raised platform itself was left quaking in the after shocks of the unsignaled detonations. Shutting the obsidian sketchpad in his hand with a swift snap! Zephyr refocused his attention on the events transpiring below his position with an air of annoyance, however his expression rapidly shifted to one of amusement as he observed Trista’s current predicament and for a brief moment he was disappointed that he had not been paying closer attention to the training session. He reconciled himself however with the thought of procuring a copy of the training session from the control room when the event finally reached its conclusion. --
“Hehehe” the low chuckle which escaped the elementals lips was not even audible over the sound of continuous explosions far below him but the slight rocking of his shoulders along with the unmistakable curve of his lips would be enough to inform anyone of his current amusement, unfortunately it seemed as though everyone was too caught up in there own personal affairs to pay the mercenary any notice, not that he minded of course.
The reasons for Simon’s current amusement was a trio of figures located some 20ft below him; for the past few minutes Hunter had taken it upon himself to assume the role of final challenger for Kitra since he had so neatly taken Ms. Evans out of the equation, unsurprisingly the immortal had been dominating for the majority of the minor skirmish and Zephyr had taken the opportunity to study his employers technique. He had already known previous to this point that the vampire possessed some type of mental persuasion along with enhanced strength, he had also suspected for some time that the Kabal leader was also gifted with inhuman agility and it was here that his suspicions were validated as he watched the vampire move with a speed and elegance that were clearly above anything a mere human would be capable of.
The tide quickly turned however when Hunter made the error of allowing the two girls to regroup for at some point during the initial scuffle Tris had managed to not only escape her bonds but also the ominous pit which had lurked directly beneath her and jumped at the chance to join Kit in “annihilating” the apparent cause of their torment. While the pairs behavior was rather juvenile the point that Zephyr found so amusing was the fact they were actually forcing Hunter to give up ground, logically the merc knew that since it was just a training exercise neither side was fighting with their all but for the moment this part of the elementals mind was suppressed in order for him to fully enjoy the fact that the almighty leader of the Kabal was being bested by a pair of girls.
Then rather suddenly the elemental found himself subject to gravity’s unmerciful gaze as the platform beneath his feet all too swiftly altered its molecular structure and became no more substantial than thousands of grains of sand. The sensation of free fall though was hardly anything new to the air elemental, he experienced it every time he left his penthouse apartment in the early hours of the morning to perform his habitual tour of the city and so it was more from instinct than actual conscious thought that a torrent of air surged into existence beneath his feet leaving him suspended in the air for the briefest of moments before his thoughts caught with his current situation and swiftly altered the torrents instenisty to make it appear as though he were still plummeting towards the ground, waiting until the last moment to unleash a burst of air which stole away his momentum and allowed him to land on the floor in crouched position with the two sketchpads still clutched firmly within his grasp.
Taking a few seconds to get his bearings Zephyr glanced around and spotted Calley in a crumpled heap not five feet away, the boy obviously hadn’t been gifted with the resources to deal with such an unexpected change of placement and idly Simon wondered how Hunter would take the fact that his little spy had been so easily put out of commission, just as he was starting to envisage the vampires possible reactions though Calleys flesh abruptly began to… the only word which came to mind was crawl for that was seemed to be happening, wounds which had moments ago been leaking vital fluids suddenly sealed upon themselves, limbs that had been hanging at unnatural angles snapped and cracked as they returned to their natural positions. Watching the boys shattered spine slowly reconstruct itself right before his eyes was a sight the elemental knew he was not likely to forget anytime soon.
‘Incredible’ that single word was the only way the merc could describe what he had just witnessed, he had of course heard of mutants which possessed an enhanced healing factor but there was always a difference between hearing about something and seeing it with your eyes, watching a human body reconstruct itself from obviously lethal damage was no exception. ‘How much could he withstand?’ the thought plagued elementals mind; judging from the way Calley had just walked off his sudden near death experience the boy was capable of dismissing internal wounds without difficulty, but could he say regenerate a limb? Or survive a bullet to the heart? If so then the shifter truly was an ideal spy, faking his death in the middle of his mission would be no great hardship for him and it provide him the perfect alibi if anyone suspected him of any infiltration, one could hardly hope to interrogate the dead after all.
With the all the possibilities whirling through his mind Simon simply remained stationary in the middle of the training area, he wasn’t precisely sure exactly how much time had passed before he noticed that the landscape around him began to change, deciding at this point that it was time to take his leave the elemental features reverted to their usual stoic mask as he strode from the area and began navigating the labs complex corridors in search of the control room, there was a certain recording he needed to make a few copies of.
